Not only can you get your standard western versions of dishes, you can many authentic dishes too! Food was great! Delicious, fresh, hot and a good portion. The lady serving was polite, friendly, and charming. Clean restaurant with nice ambience. Will be a go to when I move there!

It was a great experience. I could choose the level of spiciness, and there were lots of options to customize my 마라샹궈. They also gave me a generous portion of boiled rice, for which I was very thankful. The only downside was that I asked for no coriander, but there was still a little bit in the dish.😢

We decided on this Chinese restaurant due to the fact inside eating were 3 Chinese young lads and on another table 2 Chinese couples all eating (as the saying goes, what's good for goose is good for gander). When we went in they showed us to the table and very quickly gave us the menu. We ordered starter's then once we had eaten the starters, we ordered mains and so on. Inside wasn't very authentic quite basic and not very warm as it was a very cold evening. The food made for these minor issues. The crispy duck was lovely the hoisin sauce was really thick just how I like it so it doesn't run out of the pancake. The most important thing is would I go back again YES.

Unfortunately found the whole experience very unpleasant spring rolls were frozen in the middle and I was charged 15£ for a chicken dish that was all bones and cartilage and was completely inedible. No sides included for that price so was left hungry and nothing else offered. Avoid

The food here is actually pretty good and you find more authentic Chinese dishes on the menu. The space itself is a bit dated. Prices are still not too bad and portions are generous. If you like Szechuan style numbing spicy dishes then you are right here

Very authentic food, I've been craving it ever since I left the restaurant. A great place to practice Chinese. The bao buns or steamed buns(?) is really delicious if you can't eat spicy food well. If you are unfamiliar with Chinese food, and have a Chinese friend, it'll be much easier to order the best and most authentic dishes on the menu. This will be my go to when I'm in Brighton from now on Thank you, very delicious. I will definitely go to your restaurant when I go back to Brighton

I would not recommend anyone to eat here , eg the prawn fried rice I ordered arrived untried, so basically a bowl of white reheated rice with 3 anaemic looking prawns in it. When I questioned the staff about it I don't believe her English was good enough for her to grasp what I was saying. My impression was that the place serves the Chinese Community primarily and therefore will not be returning. Have a nice day.

Tried this spicy new Chinese cafe/restaurant after work today. Impressed I was. Sea Spice on Preston St is a lovely little cafe style restaurant. Inside it is clean and bright and always plenty of Chinese people eating. I managed to take a look at what others were eating and the food looks great. I ordered spicy shredded pork with steamed rice and it was lovely. Very spicy, but delicious. Not all the dishes are spicy despite the name but if spicy is your thing you are well catered for here. Service was good and friendly, the price was reasonable, my meal cost £7.90 and the restaurant is clean and pleasant but basic. Will definitely go back. Thoroughly recommend.

I lived in Beijing for 14 years and since returning to the UK found it tough to find genuine authentic Chinese food. The chongqing noodles, the dry pot......brought back my taste buds. This place is a hidden gem. The menu pictures and the actual dishes are accurate. Tons of Chinese people eat here too - always follow the natives. The lovely lady serving was happy to let me practice my rusty Chinese language. No need for a good atmosphere when you are there for the food. I stayed in Brighton 2 days and went for food on both days.

Went a little later on a Wednesday, so was slightly quieter. The food was amazing though! I lived in China for a year and it was comparable to the stuff had there. We ordered the pork dumplings, Kung pao chicken and the lotus root stir-fry (forgotten the exact name, but it was in the vegetation section). Prices were decent too. I recommend 😁

Not worth the money. Singapore noodles VERY salty, with half onion and whole scrambled egg and finding any meat in it was rather a treasure hunt. Found three bits of fat in it, I guess as meat replacement. Squid not terrible but very pale looking. Overall, I don't recommend it.

The fact that this small restaurant was predominantly occupied by people of Chinese ethnic origin says it all really: the food is great and the place staffed by people from that part of the world. Food is tasty, arriving in good portions, and very reasonably-priced. Top-notch.

We went there for my partners Birthday as she had look up restaurants in this street and decided this was the one. Upon entering we was greeted by the lady running the restaurant for the evening. She was amazing, big smiles, attentive and polite. There is a great menu with lots of variety. The food was great quality, fresh and very tasty. We hardly waited which wad a blessing as we had four hungry children. I totally recommend this restaurant. 5 Stars from me and the family.

A great please for those that have travelled to and enjoyed some of Szechuan's divine dishes. If not, be bold and give it a whirl. The spice is dialed down unless you ask for otherwise and the service is so incredibly hospitable.

We had two well known Szechuan dishes. Mapo tofu and braised fish in chilli oil. More than enough in quantity for two people. Both excellent and similar to the same dishes we had in Chengdu, Szechuan, a few years ago. As a cautionary note in Chinese restaurants in the UK. Apart from Dim Sum you could get an "Anglicised" version of the dish unless you specify you want authentic Chinese style.

Excellent Chinese restaurant in a street with quite a few of Brighton's best Asian eateries. But this one has a cozy, rustic feel and a superb menu of mainland China dishes you simply don't get elsewhere. Fast turnaround but wide range of dishes on the menu which can leave you wanting to come back to explore further. One of our favourites in Brighton at the moment.

Terrible meal to the point that it was almost inedible. We wanted Kung Po chicken fried rice on the window menu for less than £8. We got charged over £11 each. The meal was NOT Kung Po. Cheap pre-cooked chicken was swamped with a ton of peanuts (what were THEY doing in there???) and swimming in what looked like a whole jar of dried red chilli's and Sichuan peppercorns. I've eaten & cooked Kung Po many times and this was as far from authentic as you could possibly get. The moment we arose from the table we were barked at telling us to pay. Terrible food. Rude people. Preston Street has many great places to eat. This isn't one of them. Avoid at all costs. If I could give ZERO stars I would.

A terrible experience. There are 3 or 4 menus with long lists of dishes which is very confusing. The vegetarian options are not very many. I ordered a vegetable soup and it came with meat and prawns. My friends ordered duck and rice and a stir fried noodle dish. The food was served cold so the waitress reluctantly took the plates back and warmed them up in the microwave. For drinks I ordered white wine but they didn't have any so I had a coke instead which was presented to me as a can of coke (already opened) with a plastic straw. The service was pretty bad, the waitress could barely understand English and was playing with her phone behind the bar. Her phone kept making notification sounds, really annoying. She didn't apologize about the food being cold and when we finished our meals, she took a long time to come and take the plates away. (The restaurant was empty). The duck and rice meals were mainly bones. The vegetable soup, the one that came with cheap squares of ham and prawns with intestines, was just stock with Chinese green cabbage, no other veg or noodles. Very disappointing as we thought it might be an authentic Chinese meal, but it was a terrible, awkward and disastrous experience!

Delicious cumin lamb....... more of a drier fry than some, with lots of chilis and spice, and the lamb itself melted in your mouth. Other customers were trying to order off menu (for less authentic dishes, in the end) and the owner was very accommodating getting them what they wanted and having the chef make it especially for them. Really enjoyed my meal.

Hands down my favourite takeaway. The vegan range is absolutely brilliant and all delicious. I think I am addicted to the vegan yasai fried rice! My Mum came down from the midlands recently to visit and ordered the chow mein which she said was the best she'd ever had. So much so, I have just ordered one for her to take up there with me tomorrow!

Hands down the worst Chinese I’ve ever been too. And I’ve visited a few. All they cater for are couch potatoes that don’t even like Chinese but like what they can do with a fryer. Absolutely clueless 😂

Had a mango drink that was advertised as being filled with mango chunks, but came as just a mango flavoured milk tea with no real fruit at all. Didn't realise until I was home, as it was put in a bag, and when I contacted on Instagram to ask if this was a quality issue and never got a response. Very over-priced for what it was, and really felt like false advertising to me. Wouldn't go back unfortunately.
