As a Beijinger living in the UK, I often miss the flavors of my hometown. That’s why I drove all the way from London to Brighton for a taste of Beijing, and let me tell you – it did not disappoint! The flavors were just like back home. I highly recommend trying the traditional Beijing dish, 'Beijing-style stewed pork with flatbread.' It’s a perfect blend of stewed pork, offal, tofu, and baked flatbread, all simmered in a rich, savory broth. It brought back so many memories. Definitely worth the trip!

It's not delicious, the portion is very small, and I'm not full at all. It's the first time I've seen the ribs served with a small cup of seasoning. The stewed bowl is too big, half a bowl of cake. The quantity is small but the price is not cheap. The freshness is not enough, the ribs taste like a pre-cooked dish. The roujiamo was also a small piece, not enough for my girl to fit between her teeth. It's rare to come to Brighton and it's a big surprise. And it requires cash payment. Which restaurant doesn’t offer discounts for cash payment now? Aren't you afraid of being reported for tax evasion? Won't visit again, lightning protection

I mean the service and atmosphere was good. But the food was quite disappointing. The pork was low quality, and the chicken didn’t taste good either. All dishes we ordered taste like full of MSG instead of proper seasoning. Also, they charge an additional 10% service charge.

Poor service. I called to ask if they had items on the menu I wanted to order and come and collect.. I was greated with bad , rude response.. I have as told to check the website.. I am of poor site as disabled and just wanted to speak to a real person.. i was left distance and disappointed. I felt ashamed and so alone as I had no career with me to help support me... 😭 😢

I had a bad hot pot experience. The meat was served very slowly and was lumpy. I don’t know if it was lumpy when cutting it or because the waiter didn’t serve the food. The paid ingredients are very little and the experience is very poor. 35 per person is not enough to eat.

Cash only, but the best noodles in all of Brighton. Ask for the handmade stuff!

Hidden gem. The best noodle soup in town for me, noodles are hand made, and the broth is 10/10. Menu might be a bit daunting if you aren't familiar with authentic chinese cuisine, but I highly recommend trying.

Only went following TripAdvisor reviews. Thank you reviewers. We only saw eastern asian people in here both when we booked and when we returned. The waiter was great. Asked if we wanted spicy or sweet, plus several other questions before advising us. We had a spicy beef broth with home made noodles with a twice cooked pork in sou sauce and a beef curry. Absolutely amazing food. Great service and I would love to go there regularly. Shame it's too far from home. Plenty to eat, left absolutely nothing and a bill of £40 all inc. Top spot.

Went here on New Years Day, this place does exceptional cheap Chinese home style comfort food. The decor is a little questionable as are the power boards under all the tables along with the stores drink stock. Other than that I really enjoyed low-fi food!

This is a small family run restaurant which offers tasty Chinese cuisine. Very friendly staff. Good selection of items in the menu. Particularly favoured by Chinese students studying in Brighton. Not posh by any stretch of imagination!

I ordered for takeaway so can't talk about the ambiance of the place or anything but the food was alright, I grew up in China so I know a bit about chinese cuisine and the dishes are done properly (unlike most 'chinese' places in Brighton) so it is authentic, but it's a long shot from the best chinese food I've had outside China.

Excellent food and service, it serves regional Chinese food, much more authentic than your standard Chinese restaurant beware the spicy dishes, if in doubt ask the waiter, Very recommended!

Pretty decent, but a bit inconsistent. Some dishes were amazing, while others were tasteless. No proper chilli oil either :(

They have very delicious food and the waitress is very nice and friendly.

Other patrons seem to like this place but my single dish (lemon chicken) was another nail in the coffin of my Chinese dining experience. Absolutely no lemon flavour - the yellow sauce is merely liquid sugar. Chicken tasted 'old', as in some exhausted battery hen's corpse recovered from the floor of the cage, washed off and frozen for months. Frankly, this was minging. However, the portions were ample, it was hot, quick, and cheap, so earns the second star.

Fairly Flavored, Not bad but nothing special

Food quality average compared to what the owner brands, kitchen not clean and even the cups are rusty tins. service attitude very uncomfortable, cash only and refuse to other payments. 不推荐，态度冷漠，如非现金结账则要求旅客以夸张汇率买单。

Wow. What an incredible find. Unassuming but so authentic, this is a gem. Just wish more Chinese restaurants served food like this. The waiter is really helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Only to happy to explain and help. If you’re looking for Anglicised Chinese food then this isn’t the place for you. If you want proper authentic Northern Chinese food then this IS for you. Beautiful food. We tried the Gungbao chicken, sirloin beef in soy, green beans with pork, and their homemade noodles (simply Devine). Every time I come to Brighton now I will be coming here. And so should you!

No soy de Brighton, pero la última vez que fui allí probé este restaurante y la comida era absolutamente encantadora, la comida era fresca. Me gusta la sensación tradicional que tiene cuando entras.

Me encanta la comida pero ve con la mente abierta. Es como tener comida callejera china en el Reino Unido. Un sueño hecho realidad: en lugar de los aburridos vuelos de largo recorrido hacia el Lejano Oriente, puedes conseguirlo en el Reino Unido. Muy bueno para una comida rápida y el almuerzo de los estudiantes. Muy recomendable.

This is a modest restaurant a short walk down the road from Brighton train station, serving very tasty, northern style, Chinese food. The owner is very friendly and will talk you through the menu if needed to explain any of the dishes that may be unfamiliar to you. The place is very reasonably priced, serving unpretentious, hearty dishes that won’t disappoint. I chose the beef noodle soup and pork and cabbage dumplings on my last visit and loved every bite. Definitely recommend a visit - delicious!

Used to go when I lived in Brighton and it was Noodle Bar 7/8 years ago. Been back a few times and still great.

We came here recommended by a friend of ours we tried the grandma century egg and was pleasantly surprised I really liked the taste! Also ordered the special fired rice lovely big bits of ham in there. All the noodles and dumplings are hand made and for the price is brilliant and you can also bring your own booze!! The man who works there is very helpful and polite.

A stone's throw from Brighton station, this small restaurant serves inexpensive authentic Beijing food. Ignore the décor. Just look at, smell, and taste the wonderful food! Ask for help if you do not know what to order.

When we walked passed the restaurant and saw all Chinese in there. So straight away it's authentic. Seen the picture on the window and if you been to China or lived there you'll know I want go in just to have those memories back. The fix and fitting is basic and there is boxes under the seat, but the food is outstandingly good. You've got to ask for the full menu. If you want sweet and sour chicken then do bother come here, but if you want the true authentic northern Chinese then here is the place to come! Highly recommended.

Overly salty food and a dodgy looking interior, makes me wonder about the hygiene. Forgetful waitress even though it really wasn't busy. Have had much better Chinese food in Brighton.

I new we were going to be in the Laines in Brighton so checked out where a decent Chinese restaurant is. I wish I hadn't bothered. On entering we had our doubts, grubby looking, boxes of bottles of coke pushed under the bench seats the decor of a lorry cafe. Surely the food was going to be tremendous, that was the thought that kept us there. NO! That's all I'm going to say. Maybe they had a bad day, maybe the cleaner hadn't come in to work !!

Don't be fooled that this place only has a few reviews - it's the best chinese food i've had in town. The decor is basic, the staff don't speak loads of english and everybody else in there was chinese - which means you're in a good place if you ask me. We ordered stir fried aubergine which was delicious and a very large portion, as was the portion of special fried rice and the singapore noodles. None of the sugary, oily mush you can find in other places, this was fresh cooked to order with plenty of fresh vegetables and garlic in all the dishes, the broccoli was crisp and fresh and almost raw, just the way i like it and obviously a healthier eat. We spent 30 quid for the two of us and it was way too much food, took almost half of it back in take away boxes for later! They don't serve alcohol but the tea is lovely. Seriously, i've tried a lot of places in town and this is my favourite for chinese.

I've lived in Brighton for nearly two years now and, as a person who spent my formative years in Hong Kong, could not find any local Chinese restaurant that took my fancy -- until now.
