Hitchin Starbucks in North Hertfordshire

Really good coffee thats why i like Starbucks. Friendly staff and great service but sometimes they were getting slow after serving a customer or two because but the staff busy in gossip conversations in front of the customers who are waiting to be served. Location is good so do the atmosphere.

Nice place.. friendly staff great service.. However, The prices differs really much. I specifically confirmed that yes that was the same order and the price differ 0.45 pound.. that was not the only one issue I came across. It was 16:30 when I asked the staff to sit outside and they said they cleaned and folded the desks. That’s fair but it’s sunny day and 2 hours before the closing time and that’s the only two table we can sit and enjoy the sunny day outside. I was informed not to sit there cuz they cleaned. I did not enjoy my time really had to leave this place early before even finishing my drink.

Friendly service. Convenient and quick! And I love Starbucks...lol

This is indeed a great spot, sadly wasted on Starbucks. The staff are awful, it never used to be like this. It happens every time I come in, which is normally with my sister because she likes fruit toast. And it never that busy, little wonder.

Nice store, kind staff, decent food and dirty Tables most of the time.

Service was sub standard and why do the menu screens need to change every ten seconds with constant adverts for cold and iced drinks..... Where are the hot drinks not everyone wants a multi coloured with a matching iced lolly pop... There are five screens up there on the wall plenty of real estate for all your menus to be displayed without the constant screen swapping. I have no idea what specialty hot drinks you are doing . Sort it out Starbucks. Avoid this place and go to cafe Nero at a two min walk around the corner...

fane the ginger guy he was really rude to my friend and i really dislike his attitude. he was always staring and giving bad looks doesn't have a good attitude. he also does not have a beard net which is very unsanitary.

Personally, I think this branch has lost much of its character since its recent refurbishment, by way of layout and chair design, tables are bunched up, many users sit on their own with laptops, the seating does not allow for this. Pushchairs etc, oh my word, a disaster! the window seating was a previous nice setting, it feel colder in store now as the front auto door is broken, customers leave the place untidy and dirty on the floor.

Irony. Someone having till training. Hearing all about what to say as they have no filter coffee and no ‘ice’ drink of some kind. All that when the queue is too the door and everything is bottlenecked at the till with the actual (one) maker standing there waiting for the one functional till to actually process the waiting customers. No point waiting there when so many local competitors want to process their clients. New decor lovely. New attitude. Still needs work

Great cafe. Fell in love with new Almond Biscotti Oat Latte. Had a tuna melt. Very reasonably priced and great customer service. Refurb looks great x

I love this place, I can't believe some of these reviews, staff are always friendly and helpful! I personally think the refurb has done wonders for the store, opening it up, making it welcoming nd bright.

Really good coffee but the staff is unprofessional and talks private conversations in front of the customers waiting. Private conversations about last weekends highs and lows doesn’t belong in front of a customer, that you can talk on your brake

Hitchin has friendly and helpful staff, lovely clean store. Drinks were a great temperature and the food was really tasty too.

Staff were rude. Told me I couldn’t use my blue light card and could only pay by card. Charged me £ 5.30 for a tall hot chocolate. R u sure. My hot drink was cold. I won’t bother returning other nicer places to go for coffee in hitchin. Rude female staff.

Used to okay in here but now refurbished it's changed. Noisey and Music is too loud to relax seated inside. Staff can be quite rude.asjed me to move you can't sit there. Well don't put a chair there then. Shame . Could not wait to leave. Lost my custom now.

Family pit stop during a shopping trip. Had zero iced teas available although having 5 drinks on the menu. Extremely rude staff explaining and simply said, just order something else or move away from the queue?!?. Like the chain, but not this store location. Starbucks, consider customer service training.

Friendly staff, great selection of fresh treats, good location, plenty of indoor seating.

Unlike the review below I have heard many people comment on the (hardly any?!? Not in your face!!!) pride flags. Hitchin is a very inclusive place and clearly some people need to catch up. Lovely service, just a classic Starbucks.

Support the great independent coffee shops of Hitchin rather than these chains

Not the best Starbucks that I’ve been too. Certain drinks aren’t always in stock. Staff aren’t the friendliest. Had to have a drink remade as it didn’t taste good.

However, whilst the coffee is indeed to my taste, I am slightly offended to be surrounded by pride rainbow flags! Why such over the top, I don’t see this for StGeorges day, neither Forces Day, remembrance, surely these flags won’t stay up all month.

Recently, we emigrated from Africa. We had to walk very far into town, but we thought it would be worth it as my 11-year-old daughter has been very sad recently and wanted a treat at Starbucks for comfort as we don't have any Starbucks where we're from. We were told cash only, and I didn't have my credit card on me as I didn't think this was a thing. She was so disappointed.

This is my favourite place to go for coffee in Hitchin with my wife. The staff are all great, as is the coffee. Highly recommended.

Manager unfortunately came across really rude. Shame she ruined our trip to Starbucks by making us feel uncomfortable when being funny about the free cup offer.

I visited this Starbucks on bank holiday Monday, they were very busy but still all had a smile on their faces, the staff kept the seating area clean and tidy, my drink was made as quickly as they could and it was delicious! Will be coming back!

This particular Starbucks based in Hitchin seems to be unloved. The staff although very slow are friendly and cordial, beverages & foods are tasty. But the restaurant really could do with a deep clean, especially around the floors, windows and chairs. It does make me wonder what the areas which the public don’t see looks like😩

Had a really bad experience here, was served by Rosie who was extremely rude and passed my partner and I dirty looks when enquiring about a drink, and proceeded to ignore us following payment. Dreadful. Sort it out.

We normally use Starbucks at Baldock Services.The coffee shop is so clean,the staff are friendly and helpful & pleasant.We were in Hitchin so used the Starbucks there,we were with my two grandchildren.What a difference! The floors were dirty,nearly all the tables had cups plates etc on them,we found a table but Is was dirty,split milk shake and sandwiches left by last folks.I asked very politely if we could have our table cleaned,wrong thing to do ! The young girl came out with a cloth & cleaned every table but ours! She eventually did after being asked three tines !???

Getting Worse Quickly! Used this place a lot over the years, building now looking tired and unloved, staff prefer to chat than serve, boxes stored in the way of customers, too few staff, now quicker to go next door and buy kettle, pop to Iceland for some coffee and make your own.

Improvement but the price has gone up ( like most other things ) .

Tuesday 26th April Not impressed. We arrived and 1 table was free outside but very dirty. My friend went inside to order and to ask for table to be cleaned. She had to wait a long time for her order - and she was the only one in when she entered! In the meantime outside a marginally cleaner table became free and I moved us there. 30' after we were there someone came out to pick up dirty mugs but no one bothered to clean any of the tables!! What happened to cleaning and disinfecting in there covid riddled times? What happened to just plain cleaning to ready the table for next customer. We stayed for over 45'. For at least half of the time the staff was not busy, just idling chatting behind the counter. We were not impressed and will not go back.

If I could i would give -5 stars. The drinks are always watery and the staff are so unwelcoming. I have given this starbucks so many tries and every time the drinks taste watered down. Can't taste the coffee and barley any milk. Makes me go all the way to Stevenage starbucks(and so should you) to get a decent coffee. Someone should investigate this stabucks as it feels like someone is pocketing the money for ingredients to make actual Starbucks drinks.

Good place to have a coffee and chill with laptop

While queuing to place my order, a chap came in asking for a refund for two coffees he bought because he couldn't taste the coffee in them. About ten minutes later I knew exactly what he meant - my coffee was also virtually tasteless. Not good for a global brand that does very little else than sell coffee. It ranks as probably the worst flat white I've ever tasted.

A busy spot in Hitchin's Market Square, yet always friendly and helpful. A nice spot to enjoy the comings and goings of this historic market town. There are plenty of coffee shops in Hitchin but none of them make a flat white as well as Starbucks.

Ordered a chai latte, which was quite cold. Asked if they could heat it up and the lady’s said, we’ll make you another. Great, I thought. Anyway, when the replacement cup of chai latte came, it was completely bland, like they had spilled half of the original cup and added hot water to it. It was horrible to say the least. I had a couple of sips and left the rest. I didn’t want to make a fuss in the shop, but I really didn’t enjoy the experience.

Really rude staff member. Barking at staff, awful to customers. Three different customers whilst I was there. I would list level and name but of course no name badge. Shorter lady with blonde hair. She was just as awful to the staff. Really disappointing show of customer service and respect to others.

Was expecting more than this tiny scraping of scrambled egg in my pretzel for almost £5...disappointing! Was tasty but just not worth the money!

Coffee here is good and hot staff moaning to each other in front of all customers, store does not open on time, staff will just stand and watch you wait until there good and ready , which is often .so if you're going for coffee I won't not go much before 07.45. Which is fine but I have work and I don't think they would appreciate me being 10 to 15 mins late so I could get Coffee, had to fine alternative coffee shop.

Nice starbucks, quite busy, good covid safety in place.

Very busy on a sunny Sunday lunchtime and Covid restrictions not helping of course but no excuse for completely forgetting my order and making me wait 15 minutes for very average coffee. And if you must serve frappachinos make sure you have the extra staff to deal with the time they take to make.

Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Price For Food: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Overall the price of the food/drinks at any Starbucks is a bit steep. Both for food and drinks. However the quality is very good for both Speed of Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ On this particular visit, the time between placing my order and receiving my food and drinks was okay. Not really fast or slow but I’d personally say a reasonable wait Food Quality: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Overall quality of my drink was really good. I ordered a Vanilla Frapacinno. It was very well made and very tasty. Not much more I can say! Restaraunt Cleanliness: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ No major issues here. It was clean however I did notice that the cake cabinet was very crumby and looked rather bare. AOB- ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had no major issues with my visit. The store is very aesthetically pleasing to look at from the outside and within. However if you could inform your baristas to be more delicate with handing drinks as the gentleman practically threw my drink onto the side and in fact it fell over. If it wasn’t for the cream on top of my drink. It would have spilt everywhere.

Fine. But small and the waiting area is right next to the toilets with no space to wait at a distance from others due to layout. Which makes queuing and sitting socially distanced from others pointless

It's always a mystery to me why coffee drinkers pick a megabrand with a less than stellar reputation over a specialist independent particularly when there are all sorts to choose from within a short stroll of this well-positioned outpost of the global giant.Putting aside the dodgy position on UK taxes for the moment - let's face it, they're not the only ones - I've never been a fan of their coffee concept, all you can say about it is that it's hot and brown and there's far too much of it. Do yourself a favour - if all you want is a coffee you can get it better and cheaper not far away, and if you're a coffee geek you could try a different place within 100 yards every day for a week and get a better brew every time.

Possibly my only frappuccino of the summer. It was so cold that my nose really hurt for a long time

Either you love Starbucks or you dont. My husband and I both love Starbucks so of course we had to visit the Starbucks on the main square in Hitchin! The baristas were just the friendliest people ever, humoring us with our silly requests, just try asking for half and half in the UK! Our first time there my husband was trying to explain what half and half was and finally agreed to drink his cold brew with whole milk. They have a patio where everyone brings their dogs. We even met a retired teacher that gave us a lift to the train station for our first adventure into London free wi-fi, coffee and friendly people, what's not to love? Starbucks in Hitchin is great place to watch people go by while you enjoy the town square.

Excellent view of the public square with the windows to the floor. Friendly staff. The cupperchinno I've had looked ordinary though. It could be served better if it was topped with stylised milk pattern. Nice ambience overall.
