Staff for lovely toilets are filthy really need properly cleaning isn’t the first time I’ve visited and it’s always dirty. You wouldn’t want your children to use the toilet there.

Today I nipped in to the central Letchworth costa branch for some lunch and was served by a lovely lady called Palwinder (I think that was what her name badge said). Palwinder was so kind to me on a day I really needed it, and gave excellent customer service. If you see this Palwinder- thankyou, you’re awesome.

Fantastic place to get a coffee and quiet and the staff are very friendly and welcoming! prices are a bit much but always nice to get some free muffins! 😋

Daroka was very pleasant and welcoming. We need more humanised people like her. She was treating the staff and customers with upmost respect. I had the new raspberry bubble drink. Wow was made so well. Photo below. Unfortunately Costa don't seem to supply a squirt nozzle so the staff can drizzle the sauce. But at my request they did a fantastic job. The music was at sensible level today. Toilets clean and cafe free of litter and tables clean. I enjoyed my visit today.

Town Centre Costa is a good place to spend time with your family or friends. Nice service from Costa team, and the lady knows how to make a perfect coffee ☕️ .

A decent chain though could do with some modernisation. Also lacks natural light which is my main reason for not visiting more regularly when there are many more coffee shops in the area with better atmosphere.

Absolutely love visiting this Costa, the staff are friendly and make my drink just how I like it ,abbie is a fantastic member of staff here and always brightens my day with her smile !!

Walked in wasn’t greeted by the person sweeping the floor. Stood waiting to purchase my drink and person stood at counter didn’t acknowledge me either. Terrible customer service and ultimately lost my business

Went in to buy a coffee as had a gift card to use up, opened app and saw that I also had a sweet treat, so explained this to the women at the counter, which I don't think she understood, as she minus the gift card and didn't use the free treat option from my app, and was charged for it, fair play she was busy, but I think they need to take a bit of time listening better

The drinks are good but they know it so it's often on the pricey end, food is often dry. The letchworth location one I would say is not a desired location and there are no good views from the window. Little outside seating. But it's not horrible but it has a lot of competition in a small town.

Very slow, and awful coffee. Pretty sure the milk and coffee are mixed together and steamed together. Guessing its a time saving thing.

No offence but the area/store manager needs to re-train every staff there, the coffees are never made right

They've started closing most of the shop up as early as 14:00 including barring use of the toilets so you can be cramped into a few seats. The coffee is poor compared to other local Costa's and it is not a nice place to be anymore. I'll be going elsewhere in future.

I can’t help but to compare the service from Costa drive thru Letchworth which is really brilliant that’s why we go there even this Costa at the town is just 5 minutes away from home. Today, again their coffee machine is not working. 2 weekends ago, need to wait for a toast for 30 mins and in the end just to refund it as again, according to the same lady staff, their toaster need to heat up as not working well. Please train staff properly.

Thought I would give this place another try after seeing the queues at a different café. Staff rarely get time to clean the tables, and forces to sit in an area when it's nearly closing time with takeaway cups. I'll only use the place if desperate for a coffee. It seems Costa can't cope with competitors.

Rude survice, when told drink was wrong, went off in a strop swearing, she split my drink infront of me and still gave it to me

Costa garden square seems to be new staff so better service now..No phone reception here or in this area. Coffee used to be luke warm, but hopefully it's better now

Lovely vanilla Latte! Really enjoyed it. The branch in Garden Square, Letchworth is more friendly and better organised than that horrible little drive-thru one on the retail park, everything is in too much of a hurry there and both quality and service suffer for it. Park in Morrisons car park free for 3hrs and visit Costa at Garden Square instead...👍

The young man that works there is excellent always dise his best to make everyone happy. When he sees me and my friend are coffee is made very quickly top man should be manager.

Always busy, despite having lots of good staff, so there's always a wait for your order, but friendly and decent!

Coffee was fine but the service rather slow. They were not busy and yet the tables outside were littered with trays and cups. They had no proper cups so was given a takeaway cardboard container. Could be better.

Amazing oat cappuccino and vegan bap. Never had an oat cappuccino where the milk temperature was perfect and frothy too, until today.

Awful service today. We waited over 20minutes for our drinks, whilst others served after us were receiving their drinks! Behind the counter looks messy with lots of dirty cups/equipment all over the place!

Came in on a very wet afternoon and ordered my coffee and got my free cake for my birthday last week. The young lad behind the till was very helpful bringing my purchases across to my table. Highly recommended a nice bit of happiness when we all could do with it.

Fabric chairs covered in huge vile stains and encrusted with food. Table sticky and dirty. Tried to find another table but any that were free were in same condition. No confidence in food hygiene practices given state of furniture so went elsewhere.

Coffee is great with nice bakery items & snacks to choose from,really clean inside with good seating areas. Nice staff and quick service.

I visited with my wife during lockdown, checked if there were any caveats or special instructions on the door, none noted we went in. I placed the order and was told to wait on a red circle by the window. A booming rude voice came from behind the counter, telling us not to stand together on the circle, no problem I said I’ll stand on the next red circle, which was then followed by, you’ll have to wait outside. There was another man waiting on the red circle next to us, if we had ordered separately, we would have our own circles anyway. I appreciate the COVID conditions, but felt like a naughty school boy, with the government mantra of being in it together, was not apparent at the store.

Really rude staff member, cold attitude and shouting at customers. Did not feel welcome or comfortable at all, won't be coming back here - would rather make the extra journey to a different Costa.

I came in for a morning coffee (1.1.20) to see that there is only one person working on the shop floor serving customers on the bar and cleaning the floor, until another member of staff (Vicky) come into the shop floor, hairs a mess , is drunk from the night before telling the customers that she has gone upstairs on her shift for a sleep and was sitting on the floor with her head in her hands. Not the best experience I have had coming to costa!! She then repeated to most customers while serving them that she is drunk and has had “14 cans of drink” and had been to sleep upstairs. I know her car due to being a regular customer and has drove to work this morning. This is unfair on the business as it’s making them look bad as a company and a risk to other drivers on the road.

I walked into Letchworth Costa Coffee on 01/01/2020 to see there was only 1 member of staff behind the counter. Shortly after sitting down to enjoy my coffee another member of Staff, Vicky came onto the shop floor. She looked like she had just woke up and was extremely hung over. Her hair was all over the place and she could barely keep her eyes open. I over heard her conversation she was having with another customer about ‘she had just woke up from a sleep upstairs’ this is not acceptable for the industry she works in and Costa Coffee should be ashamed as she is making the whole business look bad. I will no longer be using this Costa Coffee. What a great start to the new year for Costa Coffee.

Whilst grabbing a Sunday morning coffee the first thing I heard was a member of staff being told to get there backside to work. There was mess everywhere, including coffee & milk all over coffee machine. The staff member , Vicky , making the drinks could be heard moaning and I saw her on her mobile phone 3 times while I awaited my drink. All in all she gave a very unprofessional impression!

I have found on the odd occasions that I have been to this particular Costa that the staff talk amongst themselves pay more attention to off duty staff than the customers they have. They got my order wrong because I wasn’t important enough. No attention given what so ever. The food not so good the fruit on the shelf was mouldy. And to top it off I’m a non smoker and hate having to walk through a cloud of smoke to get through the front door. I don’t use this Costa anymore. I’m fed up with the rudeness and ignorance from staff. I’m fed up of having to walk through the vile smell of everyone smoking. Not the best Costa around that’s for sure. Doesn’t deserve the 1 star but I have to give one.

Nipped in for a quick coffee. Staff were very friendly (two ladies, sorry, didn't make a note of their names). Had dairy free options (soy)! I brought in my own reusable mug and was expecting a discount on the prices as an incentive for bringing my own cup in (Starbucks do this) and there was no change in price.

I just popped in here for some coffee and porridge. Everyone behind the counter was lovely. They had milk alternatives (Soy and almond) and the decaf Americana was very good.

One of the better Costas in the area. The place is very clean and the staff regularly clear tables and pick up rubbish. I just wish the Royston store could be like this one.

Went in my break for a coffee in Costa within The Next store.. music was blaring out loud and it was awful. Never again.. a quiet coffee was far from possible..

Visited this Costa on the hottest day of the year and man was it an oasis in a desert, very quick service and excellent drinks lots of room to sit and chill, literally, thank goodness for air con, place was very clean and tidy and looked relatively new, all in all a successful trip

Typical cafe in central location, good to go for coffee and pastries, in summer it would be good to sit outside and people watch.

We came here during a family visit. The coffee was the normal tasty Costa type that you can get in any Costa. The only problem I have with this Costa is the way everyone waits around to collect and wait for their drinks. It blocks up the walk ways and the area around the loo. Could have been planned a tad better. The staff are lovely and polite .

This is a small Costa that’s busy but you don’t seem to have to wait very long to get served. It’s clean and has a good atmosphere about it so you feel comfortable to sit and chat. Staff clear the tables quickly and seem friendly as they can be considering how fast they have to work. Good hot Latte which is important to me and my daughter had some honey comb type coffee which she said was good. My grand daughter loves the hot chocolate with marshmallows and I also recommend the plain hot chocolate to you

An early morning hot chocolate and cheese toasties were a hit. Massive hot chocolates. This Costa gets extremely busy and I've not found it to be a good experience at peak times.

Not only were the staff too busy talking amongst them selves while folding napkins, but also they blanked me while a queue was building, and on top of that they got our order wrong. I'm not one to complain but the way the staff acted towards us was as if we were annoying them. Choosing not to shop at Costa and spreading the word.........

En una reciente visita a esta costa me marché decepcionado un poco. El personal, aunque bueno en lo que estaban haciendo todos parecían bastante hartos e indiferente que ambiente incómodo.

Ese es el problema con las marcas. Es como hoteles. Dentro de la marca todas son las mismas, independientemente de la ciudad. Y Costa es un poco como eso, excepto si van a una tienda de la autopista, donde los precios aumentarán en alrededor de un 20% por alguna razón. Pero entonces, la autopista de la costa son así. No me malinterpretéis. El café es bastante bueno, los bocadillos son bastante sabroso y mi única queja es que no, junto con otras cafeterías, encontramos una sensata de tratar con un simple doble espresso, sin tener que esperar en la cola donde Beryl ha pedido 6 arreglos café extremadamente complicada que le llevará al menos 15 minutos para preparar. Y entonces ella necesitará algo de tiempo para decidir qué comer. . . . . ¿Por qué no tenemos un rápido sistema de orden, un poco como los supermercados que tienen una cesta "sólo" canal? Aparte de eso, uno no me puedo quejar de Costa Letchworth.

Newly renovated - they seem to have got rid of all the experienced staff and put in trainees. 10 minutes to get a coffee and most of that time no one was even at the machine. Slow.

Since my visit last year the Letchworth Garden City Costa has improved. The horrendous machinery noise has dissappeared now and the atmosphere nice and pleasant. The usual food and drinks continue to be superb as in line with all of the Costa chains...But just one little tip....."Hey Staff...Smile"

The baristas here work hard and keep the coffees coming - but their consistency is great. Always a good flat white.

In case you were wondering whether this is good/bad/indifferent it's simpler to say this is the same as any other Costa...

Stopped for coffee and cake between shopping and it was very welcoming. Comfy leather seats. A good wifi signal.

You can't go wrong with a Costa. This place is nice and clean and you get served within good time. Always lots to chose from in the way of food. Plenty of room for prams and wheelchairs, seating outside , which is nice in the summer. Only draw back, it only has one toilet, this can be a pain during busy times.

I Love Costa and use them regularly and feel part of the Costa family. However something does not feel right about this branch. I think it lacks the decor and atmosphere as the others. I Will return in a week or two. However the coffee is still of high standards and as usual.....the same ongoing concerns that the food is well overprised as in all their chains.

As you would expect a Costa to be - iced coffees and coolers are delicious and refreshing. Could be just a bit tidier - tables cleared and wiped.

Frequently meet here for coffee and hot chocolate. staff are always friendly and helpful when my hands are full with a pushchair. Great place to sit and talk or grab 5 minutes rest from the hustle and bustle. The hot choc and tuna paninis are awesome.

I'm a great fan of Costa Coffee - but this is one outlet I'll be avoiding until they spruce it up a bit.The coffee is the usual reliable Costa offering and the baristas provide the good service for which the chain is known.However, the environment is very poor indeed. The place has an unkempt, unloved appearance and seems very poorly maintained. The ceiling lights were flashing, there were no newspapers anywhere to be seen and the toilets were out of order (fortunately, the public conveniences in this shopping centre are almost next door).I'll only come back when it's been brought up to Costa Coffee's usual high standard.
