Himalayan monal has been my go to Asian food place since I’ve moved here. Have to admit their ambience, food, staffs and service is 10/10. It’s probably the best Nepalese food place is north west.

Really nice restaurant who wants to have Asian experience. Serves Indian and Napaleese food. Mouth watering. Smells good. Space is small but manageable. Service is good. Price is very much reasonable.

Well we'll well did we find a beauti here. I can hands down says this was our best meal of 2024.Food here is incredible, flavours are mind blowing and also great service and ambience. Would highly recommend this place👌❤️

Lovely little restaurant. I had paneer fried rice and a bamboo shoot curry (curry) which was one of the best curries I’ve ever had. Never tried that kind of curry before. Lad serving me was very friendly back home from uni for Christmas. Good luck with your degree!

We visited this lovely place on Saturday afternoon(28th december). It has a nice vibe and friendly atmosphere, and there were several people who had already sat down. We sat down and were greeted and offered drinks. Me and the father-in-law and I got a larger called "gurkha," My wife got a mango lassie and her little girl a j2o, also half wat through our food i ordered a peacock mango and lime cider. They were all very nice drinks, the father-in-law and I really enjoyed our larger. We were then offered poppadoms and dips, after which we ordered our food, we ordered some starters, the pani puri, veg momo, mysore dosa. The mains, I went for the chicken piro, the missus went for the jhol momo, father-in-law went for monal talhi set and the our little girl had chicken fried rice with a side order of garlic naan and plain naan. The food was amazing. Everything was so delicious, the flavours and spices were put together very well, we were all very full after, no room for dessert, but we left very satisfied. The service was great. The young gentleman who served us was friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend anyone to try this place out, and I will be doing so with friends and family. We booked to go here last minute on a Saturday night. It was fabulous, food so good, atmosphere good and staff so friendly and attentive. The food is absolutely amazing and we will be returning very soon. I would recommend this very nice place yo anyone looking for great food.

Wonderful food. One of the best around Preston. Honestly will recommend to anyone trying out Indian food/ Nepali food.

I stopped in for a quick lunch. The chettinad was absolutely delicious, almost perfect in its savoriness and a good warmnth from the dark spices. The garlic naan was a good size and more than enough to mop up all that tasty sauce. The owner was really welcoming and took great pride in the food being served. I'll definitely be back.

We went a little late this evening, two other places wouldn't let us dine in because it was already 9:30pm, Himalayan Monal welcomed us in, and they didn't make us feel like we were holding them up to close. Food was delicious, with great service.

For me this is the best restaurant in Preston, feels like being in Asia again, the flavours and the attention were excellent!

me and my friend came to this place the other day and we rate it a 5/5 the decor the customer service the food 😍 was all top notch we ordered the chilli momo our mouths were deffo on fire but so worth it and the king prawn jalfrezi it all was cooked to perfection, thank you for your service 😃

Went for lunch with family. The food was excellent! The momos are on the spicy side but everyone loved them (chicken and vegetables). We tried different currys and breads and everything was superb. Very attentive and friendly staff too! Will definitely come back.

Reviews were complimentary so we thought we’d give it a go. Phoned in advance snd they were happy to reserve a table. Turned up at the time of booking just as table was being cleaned. It’s easy to go daft when ordering but special shout out to Hanin & Simran who were a great help navigating through the menu. We played safe with Poppadoms & Pickle Tray while we debated what to order. I went for Jhol Momo (Dumplings in Chilli Broth) Good lady went for Spicy Potato Patties. Main courses Lamb Korma and Lamb Karahi + 1 rice and a Peshwari Naan. Food lovely and we were asked about our ‘spice tolerance’ in advance which was nice. All in all a great experience & well worthy of their Tripadvisor Rating. One final thing place is not licensed so it’s a ‘bring your own’ - plenty of places nearby to stock up !

If you love Nepalese and indo cuisines and miss the taste of Nepal, then Himalayan Monal is one of the best 👌 places to dine in Preston 🇳🇵🍛

We have been going regularly for a few weeks now and the food is always excellent and the staff are very good at advising on their menu. The menu takes a bit to get used to as the starters and mains are a bit mixed up as Himalayan specials are listed separately but it is easy enough once you've looked through it. The desserts are also worth trying as they are really good and a perfect way to end your meal even if you just share one between two.

The food was so good and bountiful it made us feel like we're eating in a different country. Every single dish we tried was well executed and had their own unique flavour profiles. I very highly recommend it when travelling to Preston.

The service and food were delightful. We attended for a 50th birthday as a large party, and the restaurant staff were excellent. They couldn't have been more perfect and accommodating. The food was delicious and everyone said the same. Very highly recommended

This place is a little hidden gem, the main waiter was brilliant, really attentive to drinks and knowledgeable about the food but also made sure the door was closed while people ate so that the atmosphere was good and it wasn't cold. The steamed dumplings are heavenly to eat and the taste lingers around after every bite, a little bit of spice but it was more like a walking heat than a hot taste. I had butter chicken and my wife had the lamb platter. Both mains were excellent but the extra naan we had was probably the best one I have ever had. Like and crispy with wonderful flavour meant I could actually eat a whole bread with my meal. Afterwards I felt full and not bloated. I will definitely go back because it is just so more ISH

Amazing place with an excellent vibe and enthusiastic and friendly staff who provide excellent recommendations and explanations. One of the staff, Hanin, was very friendly and made the place feel very welcoming. The food was good, reasonably priced for the portion size and also authenticity spicy. Would definitely visit again.

A little gem - throughly enjoyed our meal. The tandoori chicken was so tasty and the service was great. Will definitely visit again when next in Preston.

Unbelievable food and service. 1st visit and definitely won't be our last. Good prices and the food was so fresh and tasty. Really busy on a Sunday evening. We have the butter chicken, lamb biryani, chow mein and momos. We already can't wait for our next visit to try the other items.

Absolutely fantastic food. A sort of Indian/ Chinese crossover for those who’ve never had this cuisine. At the moment (Nov 24) it’s a bring your own alcohol restaurant. Large portions, very tasty food. We had popadoms and chutney tray to start, we shared some spicy dumplings and had the tandoori mixed grill and a set menu. All incredible. We just felt bad that we had to leave some as the portions were huge! The restaurant does offer to tub the food for you to take, however we were out for drinks that night so couldn’t. Highly recommend.

Lovely food cooked with pride. Very fresh dishes using quality ingredients. We had the mixed grill. They don’t serve alcohol but that was fine as the kitchen can prepare Mango lasse it was excellent and smooth.

Delicious food, highly recommended restaurant. Lovely atmosphere and exemplary service- the server Prashant went above and beyond with his service in ensuring that I had an enjoyable experience. When I was confused about which item to order, he assisted and explained, and was able to adjust the meal to my preferences. Alongside this, he was very polite and considerate with all of the customers. The food is aromatic and flavourful- I tried the chilli momos and would recommend this as a starter. Additionally, the ambience is relaxing and provides a great setting to dine in. I would love to come again and try some more dishes. Thank you for a great experience.

Went for a colleague's farewell dinner. Though the restaurant seemed small, it accommodated a good number of people comfortably. Started with Samosa Chaat, which was beautifully presented with just the right amount of sauce to complement the samosas without overpowering their flavor. For the main course, I had Lamb Karahi with two rotis. The lamb was tender and well-cooked, not at all chewy. The peppers and onions were perfectly sized, and the sauce had just the right balance of spice—flavorful with a slight kick. Prices were reasonable, and the service was both friendly and efficient. Definitely planning to return

Been here about half a dozen times. They have redesigned the restaurant and the food has been consistently good. The Himalayan mountain wallpaper adds to the experience. Highly recommend this spot for some good soul food.

Four weary Irish hiking women ate for the first time in this lovely family run restaurant tonight. Food was flavoursome, delicious and well presented in an efficient and friendly manner. Would highly recommend, and the only thing stopping this from being our go to place to eat would be the commute from Ireland! Anyone living near, you've got a gem on your doorstep.

First time visit last night, great little restaurant, friendly manager and very helpful. Talked us through the dishes that were special to the restaurant and that convinced us to go with them. Starter portion sizes were huge, the mono’s were to die for… Excellent curry’s the Tama with bamboo shoots was very tasty and the Everest chicken was too and the size of Everest… very reasonable. Will definitely be going back..

This is a great find. I was on a rare trip to Preston and was wanting some food which wasn't too expensive. I walked past this place and it appeared to fit the bill, so I gave it a try with no expectations. I ended up having a really beautifully meal, mixed with fresh tasty balanced spices, friendly staff and all for sensible money. It's certainly worthy of a full five star review and I hope to be back soon to try more of the menu.

We were seated by the most friendly staff. We ordered and our food came decently quickly. The portions were great.To say the food was nice is and understatement it tasted exceptionally lovely. Make sure you order the dosa!

After having many lunches on my own I bought two friends for dinner yesterday. We ordered chicken and pork dumplings, onion bhajis and egg fried rice. The bhajis were the best I've ever had, so fresh and crispy. The dumplings were delicious and the spicy sauce was just the right amount of spice for me. Never had such amazing egg fried rice,made fresh with nuts and spring onions and other ingredients, absolutely perfect. Can't recommend this lovely little restaurant enough. A fantastic find down a side street in Preston city centre 👍😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋

Found this place by chance. Incredibly friendly and informative staff who could explain the full menu if needed, including great recommendations. Dosa and Momo starters were awesome. Fantastic main curries made to specifications when ordered too, including spice level required. Used to travel a fair distance to get Indian and Nepalise food this good!! Will now become our regular! Definitely recommended!!!

We can see why this restaurant has such good reviews. We had a lovely meal here on a Saturday evening. My wife and I tried an assortment of dishes (starters and mains) and were impressed with all of them. It has a nice "buzz", the staff were really interested in you asking how you would like each particular dish (med, hot or mild) and the food was first class. We will be back! Thank you 🙏 Tip: it isn't the biggest of venues circa 30 covers so book in advance if you don't want to be disappointed - we went on a Saturday evening and it was full.

Excellent food, (a little on the spicy side for my basic palette but I still) couldn't stop eating the Masala Dosa! Cosy comfortable location with nice décor. And especially excellent, attentive and friendly service.

We often visit this little gem of a place all the way from Clitheroe and it’s totally worth it. Absolutely love their hospitality, always welcoming, smiling and friendly service. All of the menu items are DELICIOUS , personal favourite is Murgh Monal Tikka and chatpate, it gives me Nostalgia. Husband’s favourite is chicken chettinad and lemon rice (which is off the menu now but they were so kind to make it for us) Momos are amazing too- my son absolutely loves them. Butter chicken and Butter Naan was my daughter’s favourite. All in all best Nepalese…could not take pictures because we couldn’t wait 😉 We shall see you soon on next cheat day 🤣

Brilliant food and lovely staff and very fair prices. Me and my friend had the vegetarian momos to start followed by masala dosa and paneer curry and then were kindly gifted jamun for pudding. All courses were superb, so tasty and fresh. The staff member serving was so lovely and I can’t wait to come back. Both the Nepalese and South Indian cuisine was spot on.

Tasty food, lovely ambience and sweet staff

Visited Himalayan Monal tonight with my friend and we were warmly welcomed by a lovely member of staff. It’s a small and cosy restaurant with comfortable seating. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the food and took our order. Unfortunately no alcohol served here so it was soft drinks only. Food arrived quickly and looked amazing. It tasted beautiful and I could not fault anything. I was absolutely stuffed after eating it all and I had such a great time. Thank you.

Best Momos in I ever had in UK, service deserves extra 5 stars, great ambiance, highly recommended place, must visit.

What a great place! Food was absolutely superb! Perfectly blended spices where you can taste each spice separately and all together those make perfect combination. We had 6 dishes all together. Different momos, dosa and dessert. Every dish was perfect! I asked to add extra spiciness to my dish and that was just how I like it 😊 you also must try the desserts! Home made super fresh. Have to mention the service! Super friendly, knowledgeable staff. All that was 30£. This place will exceed your expectations.
