This is a wonderful, friendly family run restaurant tucked away in Penge. The food is excellent, and the front of house team are friedly - as they have been on previous visits. A place to come back to.

The food was marked as our for delivery for about 40mins before it arrived. I don't mind it taking a while but the misinformation is frustrating. The poppadoms tasted really bad we both spat them out when we took a bite (usually they are fine)

Delivery took 2 hours, and was sent the wrong order! They resent the order once I complained, and the food was fine. I ordered at 7.30pm and finally got the right meal delivered at 10pm.

I have just had the most magnificent Goan Fish Curry and Daahl Makhaan - and I didn’t want it to end. The flavours danced one my taste buds - seriously double delish

Best Thali I've found on Just Eat

First time ordering from here but I’d heard good things and wasn’t disappointed. Bit more pricey than others but quality was excellent and good sizes. No problem with delivery time that others had earlier in the year so maybe they’ve improved that. Tarka Dal was very good and no bright yellow food colouring in it!

Always excellent. Costs a bit more than elsewhere, but you are getting top quality food from great produce.

From ordering to delivery, took nearly 2 hours. No matter the quality and taste of the food, there are serious problems in this kitchen and the back-of-house needs s wake-up call.

The most delicious and fluffy naan I’ve ever eaten! Vegetable thali was a good choice - flavourful and fresh.

The Just Eat App says it’s actually been delivered. It hasn’t been delivered. The restaurant just confirmed it’s still on its way. It was originally supposed to be here at 17:40 and it’s now 18:34 and still no food. The food is absolutely lovely but maybe need to be more realistic with delivery times.

Lovely food and portions, meat 🍖 thali was gorgeous as well as the naan's& onion 🌰 bhaji's,nice aloo gobi and to finish halwa and ice 🧊 cream. Definitely my favourite one so far, and will definitely order it 👍 again, thank's guy's, till next time ⏲️ yum yum 😋

We had a very good meal, delivered earlier than expected but we were ready for it. The whole experience was delicious, flavoursome food. One small point, the salad which came with the onion bhaji was old and going brown, I had to throw it away! I will order another meal in the future, we really enjoyed it.

Do not order via the website!! I was trying to keep cost down for them but I wish I had ordered through deliveroo. The lady working lept into a full blown panic at me over the phone as a result, and the same panic and overreaction over the same issues ensued when calling to simply ask how long it would be. Very unnecessarily stressful. It took almost 2 hours, for three dishes to come one mile up the road. No apology.

I have never eaten in the restaurant, I've always got takeaways. Their food is like heaven on a plate, absolutely delicious and never disappoints.

Food was delayed. Complained and were told we would receive an extra item. Delayed further (1hour), was told “it’s payday so we are very busy”. Food arrive without any extra item. Nothing we can do apparently for 1hr delay except leave a review. Poor from restaurant and JustEat.

The biryani was far too spicy, I thought that the dish was a mild one. My daughter and myself could not eat it. Very disappointed.

Your food was and is always fantastic. It may cost a pound or two more sometimes than alternatives but you can taste the difference and everything is cooked just right and not too much. Thank you

I've been ordering from Himalayan Kitchen for longer than I care to remember. Long before all these delivery apps appeared. Back in the day when you picked up a phone. I've always been a fan. The folk who own/run the place are super-friendly and will happily add a bit more chilli here, a bit less there, ie they will merrily customise. The food has always been delicious, but over the years it has just got better and better. Whoever rules the kitchen at the moment is my food hero!

The food is amazing. It always is. But they are very, very late. 40- 1 hour, every time. If you can deal with knowing it’ll be late then order.

Everything is great, although they have now raised the prices, and put the delivery charge of £2, before it was free delivery if you ordered more than £15…

Best food in the area. It's so delicious. It's a tiny bit more expensive than others and due to their popularity, once in a blue moon the delivery takes a bit longer than Just Eat allocates. Having also eaten inside the restaurant, I saw how hard the family work to get everyone their tasty food on time. There's a non-stop stream of customers. I can't recommend this enough.

Food is great, no question. And still hot when it arrived, which I was pretty surprised by because it was 45 mins late. This was on top of a 1hr20min estimated delivery time! I can accept a long delivery time on a Saturday night, but 2 hours is excessive. The restaurant didn't even keep us updated with the delays. I had to call the restaurant twice for an update; the first time it still wasn't ready, and the second time I was told it had just left the restaurant and would be 10 mins. So, if you're happy to wait a ridiculous amount of time for good food, then this is the place for you...

Best place to eat and takeaway in Penge, and better than most of London. Go for set menu with a few extras for a truly authentic experience.x

We chose this restaurant because we had heard good things about the food from others, and the restaurant listing said the food would be delivered within 30-45mins, which was crucial to our choice because we needed it to arrive quickly. However once we placed the order it increased to 1hr40mins and it didn’t actually arrive until 2hrs after ordering. The food itself was very nice but the long wait ruined our evening (we had guests and were waiting until 10pm, which was so embarrassing). Wouldn’t order from here again as a result. It’s a shame as the food was lovely, but this wait isn’t acceptable. They shouldn’t be taking orders or advertising that wait time if they don’t have the capacity.

Food is amazing quality and flavour, however the portion sizes are quite small for price.

Food was good but a 2 hour wait on a 50 minute delivery is way too much - especially having been told it was on its way more than once.

Food good as usual but took two hours to arrive, 30 mins longer than the estimate. The restaurant updated the order on the app to show it had arrived on time when in fact it hadn’t even left the restaurant. A pity as it’s good food but they should never have accepted this order as they were clearly too busy. It’s also a shame that they put misleading updates on the app to suggest that it had been sent on time.

Lovely hot food delivered early and well packed

As always the food was perfect. So tasty and not greasy at all. Flavour is supreme. Won’t bother ordering anywhere else when you have Himalayan Kitchen!

Delicious food as always. We love ordering from Himalayan Kitchen because the food tastes fresh and home cooked. The staff are super friendly too. Slightly lower rating because the delivery was about half an hour late, but sort of to be expected on a Friday night. Would definitely recommend trying this place.

Delicious as always! Would like a slightly larger rice portion (to share for 2 people) but amazing curry. Order early on a Friday or Saturday night as it can take over an hour for a delivery slot at peak times.

Ordered from here a few times and the food is decent - good portions and good solid standard. However the majority of the time it arrives late - tonight 15mins late (nearly 2 hours after placing the order) and previously 45mins late. If the restaurant is reading this I’d suggest you try rectify by hiring more staff as if it continues I will no longer be ordering. Many thanks

Fantastic bhajis, fish, daal, curry and naan

Food was absolutely delicious and there were lots of unusual items that I'd never heard of or tried before which was exciting! Unfortunately, the estimated delivery time was longer than the listed time before we ordered, and then they ended up being about 45 minutes later than the estimated delivery time. I definitely want to eat the food again but hopefully they can sort out delivery speed!

The food ordered was delicious, particularly the Gurkha Himali Chicken very flavourful and I would order from here again. Just a shame the delivery was a tardy.

Excellent - best cuisine in Penge!

Excellent food - among the very best in Penge! Very friendly family run environment. Unfortunately collection times are highly inaccurate - for three times in a row the food was only ready 20-30 mins later than the confirmed collection time. Meant that we had to wait for half an hour in the car in front of the restaurant - pls seek to accurately update your order lead times to avoid disappointments of that sort.
