Best curry house I’ve ever been to food is amazing here

Fantastic food and service. Went for the Sunday lunch buffet and there was an excellent spread with freshly-cooked food coming out regularly. Book well in advance to avoid disappointment. A meal for 3 with drinks and desserts came to £58.

Lovely food and excellent service

My 1st visit was November 24 and somehow I got mixed feelings for this place. After reading good reviews and that they have been rewarded one of the best when I went there felt a little disappointing. Stuff were absolutely chaotic and shouting to one another not paying attention to clients. The menu was missing many meals who can you have a fish section and only serve prawns and no other fish. I ordered keema naan and it was crispy and had like a blob of meat in the middle. Most of the food I eat in other places is far better. The atmosphere with this blue light is blinding.

Utter disappointment, if I could give minus points I would. Was a shambles from start to finish. First of all, what "authentic" Indian restaurant does not have mango lassi? Then I ordered a double g&t with no ice, I was given a single with a glass full of ice. The waiters were very inattentive and disinterested, they were also very loud and shouting across the restaurant. There was a complete lack of ambience in restaurant and terrible what I can only describe as disco lighting. The toilets are also outdated and horrible only worsening the whole experience. The food was the final straw for me, completely inauthentic and tasteless. We had to ask for salt and pepper which says it all! We were told the dishes are designed for the British white!!! I am baffled as to how this place has won a Curry award. The "garlic" naan lacked any flavour and all the curries tasted like the sauce came out of jar, waste of time and money. Avoid this place, I definitely do not recommend.

Great food and service from Ali!

I recently visited The Bombay as I seen it on newspaper that it was the curry house of the year in south east, and overall, it was a great dining experience. Parking & First Impressions: Parking was a breeze with their own lot right next to the restaurant, which made things very convenient. The restaurant itself looked appealing from the outside, and the interior matched that first impression with a pleasant atmosphere. Service: We were quickly seated, though we were placed on the left side, which I would recommend avoiding in the future. The tables on the right looked much more inviting. While we had to wait over 20 minutes before anyone took our order (despite asking a couple of times), the team made up for it quickly after that. Once our order was in, the food arrived in no time, and they had preheated the plate, which was a nice touch. The waiter was friendly, and the service as a whole was good. Atmosphere: The atmosphere of the restaurant was generally great, with a solid customer base consisting mostly of couples, friends, and families. The decor was stylish, although the lighting on the left-hand side of the restaurant could use some tweaking. The green light was a bit harsh and would benefit from being dimmed or replaced with a softer color that better matches the overall theme. Food Quality: As for the food, the quality was excellent. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala, which was hot and well-prepared, and the portion sizes were generous. My partner had a different dish (though I can’t remember the name), which was also top-notch, although the prawns in it were on the smaller side. Still, the quality of the ingredients was undeniable, and everything tasted great. Final Thoughts: The price was reasonable for the quality, and as we were leaving, the staff gave us a friendly goodbye, which left a positive final impression. Would I Visit Again? Definitely! Despite the minor service hiccup at the start, everything else was enjoyable, and I would happily return for another meal.

Worst experience at a restaurant. From the table setup, waiter service, food and ambiance was amateur at best. Table was thrown together in a corner with no room to sit freely. Waiters were unattentive and uninterested in taking accurate orders. Food was unauthentic and not even close to what acceptable Indian food should be like. All dishes were made with what seemed like sauces from a jar and lacked texture and substance mixed with sugar. Ordered a butter chicken and what came I can only describe as a chicken tikka masala with added sugar. I challenged the authenticity of the dish only to be told that the dishes are made with the English palette in mind. Prawn curry again was a let down as was the chicken korma. Waiter then had the cheek to ask me for a google review! Their ratings are high but the restaurant is shockingly bad. If you genuinely enjoy authentic Indian food, great service and a great experience... Do Not go to The Bombay. Worst £180.00 we have ever spent, we will never be returning.

This review is for takeaway, but some of the comments apply for dine in as well. We ordered our food at 7 o/c last Saturday and was told it would be ready for collection in an hour. Turned up at 8 o/c and you could hardly get in the door with people waiting for orders and tables as well. Despite being told "it will only be a while, our order was not ready until 9 o/c. The food is good as always, but we would avoid coming here or ordering a takeaway at the weekend. It is just too busy, Next time, it will be a mid-week treat.

Excellent value for money. My only criticism would the lighting or lack there of....it might have added to the atmosphere but we couldn't really see our plates. I
