Great staff and great food, there was a bit of a wait between finishing our main meals and the table being cleared and dessert menus brought over but they had got busier. Great all round experience

Nice cozy Pub, with a warm inviting look & feel. Food is classic pub fare, and it is done well. Didn’t find much in the way of dairy-free dinner kiddie meals, but to be fair the chef went out of her way to accommodate. Service excellent and has nice outside booths with heated lamps for the chilly nights. Great spot and Pub.

Went for Sunday roast with the family. Always daunting trying somewhere new but it was absolutely fab! The roast dinners are huge and delicious and the puddings were so yummy. Friendly and efficient service. Will definitely be visiting again.

We went here today for lunch. We were greeted by friendly staff and were able to choose our own table. The food was incredible. The flavours were absolutely delicious. I had the burger and had to ask chef what was on the bottom bun. It was home made onion chutney 😊 I can’t describe how good this was. Please see photos. My friend had steak which was cooked to perfection and my other friend had the fish and chips. Which once again was delicious. I highly recommend this little hidden gem.

Friendly staff and great beer (Timothy Taylor's). We just popped in for an early evening drink, only a shame nowhere to sit in the sunshine.

Mum and I have a small appetite, so we order Calamari and a pizza. It was a disappointing meal. Calamari was rubbery, and pizza was no way to be cut up with a normal knife when it was cooling down. We ordered the pizza supposed to have wild mushrooms as the menu stated. Instead, it was topped with white cup mushrooms. Felt being cheated. The service were good and efficient.

Joe Adam and Harvey have really good memorable service. Beer could be cheaper. Farmy army x

Only 1 veg option, and that’s a miserable fake meat burger. Do not go if your party contains anyone who does not eat meat. A shame, since could be a good place.

The staff were very friendly & fairly efficient, but I found the place very noisy, not helped by the fact there was a music speaker immediately above us & children being allowed to run a mock!😡 As for the food, my friends seemed happy with their fish & chips, but I was disappointed with my chicken & ham pie! There was too much pastry & very little filling! The only reason the plate looked full was the gravy pan was on the plate! 😲 Not what I was expecting for £17 & definitely not value for money! 😪 I will think twice before going again!

John is still in charge and the place never looked better... The food coming out of the kitchen looks amazing.. Very popular with the locals as many in enjoying the food and hospitality. ----previous feedback ----- Came here for work today... A beautiful pub in a quiet area... Spotlessly clean throughout... Serving coffee aswell as a huge range of wines and the other usual pub favourite drinks. The hiltonbury farmhouse offers pizzas made in the clay oven (photo) and a full menu with ample seating and parking Photos show this idyllic local pub in all its splendor... Lush green landscaped lawns around the estate enhances the vista while sitting outside on the many tables and huts. An all round lovely pub from the Punch pub brand. The staff working today we're very friendly and accommodating...

Good pub with a great selection of food. They even do some great pizzas from a Pizza oven made fresh.

Me and my Fiance went for dinner at about 4pm. I ordered the Pork Belly Roast and my Partner had fish and chips. We didn't enjoy the food, with the pork belly, the fat was all soggy and not crispy at all which really put me off. My fiance didn't enjoy his fish and chips, he had a pot full of garden peas, but the pot was something you put sauce in which had a maximum of 20 peas in. Real shame as we have been before and the roast was lovely, but didn't enjoy it today, you could tell it was towards the end of service. Wish we'd stayed in now and saved the £48.

A superb quality meal served with a smile in the most congenital of surroundings. Would love to have this as my own "local" but the food is worth travelling for.

A few options for vegetarians but very delicious!

The ups and downs of the Farmhouse continue. About seven years of visits now, to my local, where changes of ownership, management, staff and chefs have bought a range of experiences through the years. Not at its best right now, a pretty average Friday night meal for a family of four, a lot of money for what it was, a mixed bag of service and a definite increase in loud sweary customers, who go unchecked by staff, leaving it less than an ideal place to be with my ten and twelve year olds. I really want the farmhouse to be great, and it has been at points, but isn’t right now. I will be back, but more likely for just drinks, skip the food and maybe without the kids for the moment.

Great food, absolutely exceptional. The service was fast and friendly, would definitely recommend eating here.

Good food and nice drinks if not a little expensive. The issue is despite having a no smoking booth, people smoke outside the seating areas and by the back door which means anyone who does not want to breath in smoke can only eat/sit insides.

Superb food! So many places do not make the effort for vegetarian options but this was so well presented, well prepared and tasty. The portion size was just right too, providing quality and quantity without overtaking or the need to "top up". Service very good too and attentive to our needs. We will definitely return!

Popped down for a drink and was greeted by the most lovely staff, in particular Joe. A wonderful atmosphere and friendly pub suitable for all!

Went to the farmhouse today and the food & service was awesome. We had the handmade steak pie as well as fish & chips. Let me tell you the steak pie was delicious with fabulous pastry (not everyone can make pastry) plus the gravy & fresh veggies were totally fantastic. The fish was cooked to perfection with a batter that was fabulously crispy and the chips were also crispy on the edges (ok we did dip some of the chips in the gravy 😋). The desserts look and tasted perfect - the sundae tantalised the taste buds and the sticky toffee pudding (with additional custard) …. well I’m definitely having that again. Atmosphere was lively, the staff attentive and the decor was reminiscent of an old farmhouse Congratulations to Joe the manager, the chefs Gareth & Wayne and of course the waiting staff Connor and Ellie. We will be back with family & friends.

Called ahead to say running a bit late. It's my birthday and I have 2 small children. Told that the chef was going home 8pm this evening (table was 7;45) so what they were going to offer I have no idea. Ruined my birthday meal. Last time I went I split the bill with a friend and ended up paying the whole bill what she paid her half. Disgusting customer service both times.

One of the best roasts we've had in a long time ...been twice in 3 weeks couldn't be any more pleased. Sean is always graceful, attentive and genuinely a warm and welcoming host, always made our experience a fantastic one, even remembered our special requests and looked after us

Nice welcoming pub with lots of space and great food. I had a roast dinner (roast beef) which was very good - I would highly recommend! The meat was good quality, the veg was well cooked and there was lots of gravy - always a plus!

Took relatives visiting from Kent for a lunch. Extremely happy with everything, very attentive and friendly staff. Edit 26/4 - came again this week - still brilliant!

Sunday roast beef was really nice except some part of the beef that's abit chewy ,the service was excellent we were two people but got table of six quite close to the toilet but I' not too fussy better to book well in advance if going on a Sunday.

Firstly, I can only review the experience I had on the night - which might not be representative of the place as a whole. After reading plenty of good things about this pub, my partner and I decided to eat here (28.03.2024) It took at least 10 minutes to be acknowledged that we had arrived. It became apparent rather quickly that there were staffing issues with someone inexperienced waiting tables. It was clearly noticeable the waitress was under too much pressure and out of her depth. As a result we felt rushed from start to finish. We weren’t told about what was unavailable, specials of the day etc. We could see people on nearby tables having the same experience. At one stage my partner had her plate whipped away when she was not even half way through her main and still chewing - she didn’t even have a chance to say she wasn’t finished before it was gone. I personally think that brilliant service leaves you with a great impression of a place regardless of any issues experienced. I realise staffing issues can be out of the control of the pub due to unforeseen circumstances. The only apology we got for the service was from a guy from behind the bar who brought the bill to the table. We had asked twice previously for the bill and he probably noticed from his position we had been waiting a while. The quality of the food can balance out the evening if done really well. Unfortunately we found the food to be somewhat average for the price point when comparable to nearby local venues. To spend £80 or £90 between 2 people for a very average experience on both the service and food front - it’s doubtful we will return.

Fab! Great inn. Food was awesome, lovely decor, helpful and friendly staff. It's a hidden gem!. It will most likely be our go to place for things.

Such a lovely evening here. Adam our waiter was the star of the show and coped with our rowdy table/s of 25 with attentive enthusiasm and good humour, his recommendations of the duck pate was spot on and the chef Gareth(?) did a superb job with every dish. Not to mention the bar staff who took me back to the 90’s with an excellent B52 off piste from the menu. The sticky toffee pudding I am told was worth the wait! Thank you and well done!

Great pub great staff a brilliant atmosphere

Booked festive menu for 4 absolutely brilliant , seated straight away , offered drinks straight away and food was served as soon as we wanted , all the food was lovely , all freshly cooked and we all enjoyed everything even corrected a dessert that was wrong (the person booking mistake ) . Would definitely go back .

Not the cheapest place to drink or eat but quality ,nice well looked after grass area with bulbs and flowers all very nice. .

Went for lunch today and were very pleased with everything. I’m coeliac, so need gluten free food and they were very accommodating and helpful. The website shows the allergens, but I’d recommend calling them to check what’s available because the site isn’t overly helpful or welcoming to those who are gluten free. We all had the roast beef rib which was delicious and tender. I just didn’t have the Yorkshire pudding. Portions were generous too. Staff, atmosphere and prices were all good. We will come back.

5 star for everything, the service from the team here is exceptional! So pleased we found this little gem, we love it! Food fantastic, people fantastic, Romero Gonzalez fantastic!

Quite expensive. 1 course, soft drink, coffee with small taster pudding was over £30.The roast potatoes were not good and very small. The side dishes were small. The cauliflower cheese was a tiny portion and not baked, with just a thin sauce. The gravy pan caused a bit of a mess. There is a nice, cosy atmosphere, but the food needs to improve.

First time visiting Hiltonbury and wasn't disappointed. The service was first class and couldn't fault them at all. The food was lovely, I had a sirloin steak and finished with the cheese board washed down with a bottle of wine. No wonder this place was busy. Definitely going back again when down in the area.

Had a lunchtime catch up with a friend the service was absolutely fantastic from start to finish we had Soup and Sandwich for lunch and the soup was exceptional great taste loved it. Thankyou so much for making this pub a great place to visit and have a decent snack and drink with fab service from the young man sorry didn’t get your name.x

Great food barman was very polite. Blond beauty waitress was very polite and hard working . She was serving food to whole restaurant . Excellent job

Hoping this was a bad night in the kitchen but honestly I was very disappointed. The Korean burger was tiny, the slaw was missing a dressing and the chips were sparse. The Korean chicken was lacking in anything Korean about it and very dry. My daughters steak was very fatty and not at all tasty. But the worst were the glasses! Filthy dirty. The chef did prepare extra fillets of chicken but there was nothing Korean about it (we've been to Korea - Street food was better). I do have to say when we pointed out the issues, the staff were apologetic and the staff were the best thing about the experience. Sadly they missed out on a big tip due to the other issues. BTW- the pizzas looked the best for taste and value!

1st time visiting this pub. Just for a pint and catch up with a friend. Staff were welcoming and friendly. For a Wednesday night, it was busier than i expected, and lots of people were ordering food.

My 3 friends enjoyed their meals, but my ham egg & chips wasn't great.

Stopped in for lunch on a Friday afternoon and had tremendous food and service. The team were so friendly and the food was piping hot and exactly what we needed. We won’t leave it too long before we visit again!

We had a great date night with dog in tow at this pub. Easy to book, comfortable and friendly environment. Delicious food, we tried all 3 courses!! And delightful staff who couldn't do enough for us. We will definitely go back for more. Thank you 😊

Really want this pub to be better than it is. It is a good venue and has a nice atmosphere, but unfortunately very overpriced for the quality of food served and expensive pint, which you don't mind if the food is good...

The environment was good, the food also, but not excellent; about the service, after a while, that we were there, nothing happened, therefore I asked for the menus from the waiter and after that we were served well.

Unfortunately my party and l did not have a great meal, The roast beef was tough and my fish with batter, looked like a giant fried whitebait, no light batter but heavily coated and dry.

1st visit to Hiltonbury Farmhouse recently. You have something different than pub grub. Pizza oven on site, all made fresh. All staff are very friendly and meals come out fresh and hot. Clean and good atmosphere. Katsu Bon Bons👌Good food.

When it comes to roasts I am super fussy, especially as nobody can do a better roast than I can, until I had a roast at the Farmhouse. Lunch with a friend was nothing short of perfection. Staff were lovely and welcoming but nothing beat the food itself. We will definitely be back!! Thank you so much.

Moved into the area a few month back and this place quickly turned into my local (although the furthest pub from my house) I have made a lot of great friends here. Friendly, helpful staff, positive atmosphere and a great place to have a drink!

Went last night for my birthday celebration. We have been before as it's our local and have been happy. Warning that this is a long review about one dish as I wanted to give as much information which may be used for improvement. I ordered a halloumi salad as my main meal and everyone at the table was shocked at how poor and unappetising the salad looked! It was literally 4 small narrow pieces of briefly grilled halloumi on supposedly green chicory which we were convinced was crispy lettuce cut into very narrow strips. Even the solid end stalk was sliced and served! No salad dressing either. Chicory leaves are normally served whole. It would have been better to serve locally grown salad as chicory is not yet in season here. The halloumi had a bit of grill marks here and there. None of the nice grill marks one would expect. There was no other salad e.g. differrent salad leaves or cherry tomatoes to the dish at all. I did discuss this with the waiter. Also, serving was small. Hugely disappointing and embarrassing as for the first time ever, I had to send it back and ask for fish and chips (which wasn't as good as the one I've had before). Feedback from chicken and ham hock dish was that there was too much pepper and salt. I was told that the double burger was good. I do hope this review is taken as constructive criticism as I do want them to do well and will continue supporting them. I would be happy to pop over to test the improved halloumi salad!

Absolutely gutted on the food quality front. Been here a few times and it has been a place that I have actively promoted to others in the past for great food. Made slightly worse by the fact my visit included a French friend... I was sure to show some good representation of British food.... or not. Calamari was drowned in salt. Veg was overcooked and overly seasoned on the mains. Hopefully just an off day.

We didn’t enjoy our meal this evening my partner ordered ham hock pie and I had linguine, so poor, the pastry was so think, dry, only a bit of ham and chicken inside, gravy was just water and bisto, my linguine was soggy like toddler’s meal. So disappointing. Waiting staff were good though so we still tipped them.

Had a great meal here with friends and their youngest daughter on Sunday 23rd April. Nice pub in a quiet setting. Two lovely courses each and delicious puddings. Roast beef was to die for! Three huge slabs perfectly cooked and enough vegetables to fill the plate with lashings of red wine gravy. Would definitely go back again and recommend to others.

This was our first time at this establishment and we were very pleased with our experience. The food was exceptional and the staff were very accommodating! I would highly recommend this gastro pub. Decided to visit after been put off by the reviews of our own nearby hotel. Excellent choice here. Food is great quality, well presented, with quick service, well priced & the atmosphere is super cozy. We both had the fish & chips which were absolutely fabulous. Deserts we had the 'proper' Sticky Toffee Pudding + Apple & Blackberry Flapjack Crumble with custard. Both were simply exquisite! 😋😋 Well done to Joe & the team! Can highly recommend. 👍

Absolutely fabulous dinner!!! Very attractive decor, friendly efficient staff, thank you to Joe and the pretty blonde server too( sorry didn't catch her name). The fish and chips were brilliant; the batter was so crispy and the fish was delicate and perfect! Beautiful homemade tartare sauce. I chose the sticky toffee pudding, it was so unbelievably good that I had to share it with the fella!! I was sorely tempted by the Sunday roast as it looked beautiful, but opted for the Fish and chips, and happy I did! Next time we come down this way we'll be sure to come for lunch or dinner again!! A good atmosphere and very clean loo's. Thank you .

When entering, Joe was very welcoming and friendly, very nice service and polite man, then there was Jess, her waitress service was spot on, very polite, smiley and nice, very efficient on checking if we were OK and the quality of the service was spot on. Moving onto the meal, cooked to perfection, presentation was great and compliments to the chef. Will definitely recommend and will be coming back.

Lovely pub, we visited for our parents 25th wedding anniversary and had a lovely time, great food and atmosphere. For an added touch, they gave us a desert with ‘happy 25th’ written in the middle. Thank you again.
