Lovely food served by people who obviously enjoyed their work. Good management and friendly staff. Great range of desserts which we will try next time.

Came over from Nottingham with a few friends and decided to pull in for something to eat. I wish we hadn't bothered! The staff rude and were all kids who clearly couldn't care less. The food, when it finally arrived, was mediocre at best. The farm shop was ridiculously over priced and the plants all looked half dead. We will never come here again at all. You would be better off going to Fernley's on the other side of Melton Mowbray...a much better experience!

Good food, ample portions and very fast service. The shop is a bit pricey but the veg is great. Nice atmosphere even when busy and a very nice place to go.

We visit Hilltop when we can, mainly when visiting family. On Sunday we met up with my girlfriends family and had a light meal, which was very good. I went into the shop to buy a treat for a friend of mine, a cherry bakewell cake. It looked nice, more money than l thought it would be worth, but it was for a friend. He gave me his opinion saying that the label over sold, and the product under delivered. He said there was no taste of almond, and little cherry taste, the drizzle on the top of the cake was only on the top and had not soaked into the cake. At over £3 for this gift, l was disappointed. I think t is captive audience syndrome..my review of 2 stars is not indicative of my general opinion of the venue..

They regularly have a couple of gluten free cake options but only one of these has clung film on, the other is in a cake cabinet without covering. I have asked why this is, no response... I havr explained the issue of cross contamination and still no response.

We were actually here for a Wake. I have been here several times and found it to be a very friendly little pub. The staff had put together a reasonably versatile buffet for the Wake, too much white bread, but that's personal choice. The lemon drizzle cake was outstanding. I was pleased that the barmaid suggested that the surplus food should be taken to the bar to be shared rather than wasted.

The Anchor is a top pub. Paul is world class bartender. Great vibes. Love the local feel and cold beers. Have a game of darts as well.

As always, we have absolutely fantastic food and customer service. It’s a pleasure to eat here. The owners are always super friendly despite being rushed off their feet. Food is always fresh with decent portion sizes. I highly recommend eating here.
