Excellent Food and Brilliant Owner And Staff Love going To The Chip Shop

Food well for 3 days been taking chicken kebabs and it's really good not so spicy but with the combination of sauces it's just really good. Service I can't say a bad word pretty quick, and no one had any problems with me taking a kebab in a wrap with chips instead of salad so really good service. Atmosphere well it's like a typical chip shop but as I said earlier service makes it really good.

We've been coming here for over 30 years. Clearly we think it's the best chippie in Rugby and I don't think you'd get a better kebab anywhere.

Visited last night for an impromptu kebab. Queued behind another lady who entered just before me for at least 5 minutes neither of us were acknowledged by staff. They were not particularly busy, absolutely no excuse for such poor customer service literally takes a "hello be with you in a minute" I have been here many times before and the food has always been good but last night decided I would just go elsewhere.

It's been the same for decades, just the way it should be

Elite chippy. You might think that's waffle but believe me, you will know when you turn up here. First time in, Saturday lunchtime, they've got the footie on the TV, which to someone like myself is a fantastic start. £5.50 odd for chicken and chips with curry sauce and I believe I'd have to go a long way to find better taste or value at any outlet anywhere in the UK, specialist fried chicken outlet or otherwise. Just epic flavours. Beautiful succulent chicken, breaded well with excellent adhesion of coating to skin that doesn't just slide off in one go as it does with so many. Magnificent, fluffy, evenly cooked chips that melt in your mouth, and hands down the richest, lavishly viscous curry sauce I've ever tasted. Service absolutely beyond reproach, plenty of decent light hearted banter from all the chaps behind the counter come rain or shine. I ride a motorbike, so after I had got my food I took it out to my bike to eat it and as it was a windy day, the wind blew over the tray with the last few remaining chips in, and the guy behind the counter, having observed this debacle, came racing out of the shop to offer me more chips due to my carelessness. Levels. Additionally, after I'd been served, the chap after me was, for one reason or another, struggling to state his order concisely. I observed the server listening very patiently and politely asking for him to repeat to get his order across. When I set this against the attitudes I see in some comparable outlets who can't seem to wait to get you out of there, seriously impressed. I'm sure there are chippies that are just as good out there but these guys have won my custom for life. I don't even live in the area anymore but I now regularly make the 15 mile trek in just for their food and service alone. Other establishments take note. You know yourself. Raise the level. These guys are setting the standard

We ordered around 130 mini fish and chips portions for an another quiz we were organising at the Railway club. Delighted with how hot they were on arrival. Lots of positive Comments. Prompt delivery. Many thanks. We’ll be back

I bought kebab and chips asked for salt but no vinegar as got skin allergy did not ask for ketchup only mayonnaise and fresh salad got home to eat find ketchup all over few chips and kebab had to watch what I was eating as I would be scratching all night or swelling up meal was too dear

I went to this chip shop when I picked my daughter up from Rugby lovley chips and the owner is extremely friendly

This was the best chippy in Rugby. Now I'd say it was just below average. Chips were dry ,sausage was overcooked. Kebab was expensive, small and a bit tasteless. Shame really, I think they need to modernise . Hopefully they'll sort it out.

Great food but costs a little more than other chip shops in the area. At busy times this can be a really busy chip shop as they have a dedicated counter for kebabs which makes no sense to me Especially when the Kebab qué can be 10 people deep and no one is waiting for normal chip shop stuff but the staff won't help, they just stand there... The Kebab qué is also right across the doors to enter the premises which again doesn't make a lot of sense...all that said they do the best Fish and chips as well as Kebabs by far...

Fantastic quality of food. Friendly staff with excellent, quick service. They also cater for Gluten Free, cooked in a separate frier and happy to double check ingredients. Would highly recommend

Tried the fish & chips for the first time. Very disappointed. Lovely fresh fish but horrible soggy, greasy batter. Chips dry & tasteless. Expected much better for £21.00 for haddock & chips twice!!

Fantastic babs, my family have been coming here for generations. Some even come from 180 miles away and they are the best babs they’ve ever had. Top qual bab. 10/10 would recommend. You think I’m joking but I’m not. Nugs here are also ace. Order this to reach culinary nirvana - mixed kebab, salad, garlic mayo, chilli. Plus nugs. Enjoy x

I don't know if it is a few months since I've had a kebab from here, or if you have changed your recipe, but may I say they were the best kebabs ever! Both my partner and I said how great they were. Mrs had a lamb kebab snd myself a mixed, both with chilli sauce and garlic mayo.

The food was raw and had items wrong and missing when we got home tried to ring no answer not very happy about having poorly tummies for 3 days

Phoned ahead as was travelling from Norfolk to make sure they would be open for what I wanted to order was told to call at 8 to place order over the phone travelled 2 and a half hours to be told at 8 they wouldn’t do my order very very disappointed after being a loyal customer for years and sending as many customers as poss From far and wide let down by the service

The mixed kebab meat in a tray is amazing! The homemade lamb doner is the best I've ever had. However, we had it at lunch, and it was juicy and delicious, but when we had it another day at dinner time, it was good, but dry. Maybe try it at lunch for the best experience.

This Chippy has to be one of the best around. Food quality is A1, swift to cook fresh while you wait. Prices OK compared to other local places. Downside is cash only, no cards accepted. Parking usually OK but limited at busy times. Still go there for the quality.

I used to love their kebab and chips but on my last visit I found the chips were soggy and some were undercooked, not as golden and crispy as they used to be. The kebab had plenty of meat which was cooked well but the salad portion was sparce and the pitta bread was soft and all the filling fell out of the bottom. Such a shame as the quality is not as good as it used to be. The staff are friendly and deliver a good service

Another spur of the moment decision to have fish n chips. Spoke to our elderly neighbours who asked me to get them some whilst I was there. Although there were some fish already cooked I was asked if I wanted more freshly cooked, Yes was the answer. Piping hot. Slight downside was a young man who came in without wearing a mask. No questions asked. But all was good. As normal chips slightly cool. Had to put them in a warm oven to reheat. But Hah Ho. Large portions. Polite service.

Awful, fish very overdone batter like chewing sandpaper, most of the fish fried away, what was left like chewing gum. Fish cakes like eating a discus so hard. Chips not great either, all stuck together. Won't be going there again! Shame, we were 1st time customers.

We were due too have a very exillerating home made vegetable soup for lunch . In these times, how exciting was that. Suddenly said ‘ let’s have Fish n Chips’. What a good idea. Went down to Featherbed Lane. Fish shop. Was abused outside by two men , obviously intoxicated, but that is by the way, no problem to me.. Went inside, staff very pleasant, fish cooked freshly. Unfortunately , when I got back home, Chips were quite cool, otherwise would have given this visit a 5, Fish was scrumptious.

(100% covid aware and complaint business) Visited 21/1/21, The staff have PPE on and a screen is between staff and customers on the main display. Ony 3 people allowed in at once witch is acceptable with social distancing. Best fish and chips in rugby in my opinion. Staff are very pleasant and profesional and very quick service.

On the spur of the moment decided to have fish n chips for tea instead of soup. Would have rated this 3+ if I could. In and out in no time. Chips a little on the cool side. Had to re heat them at home. Shouldn’t complain but the portions are too large. Would prefer smaller portion that costs less. Food goes cold before you can finish it. Fish very tasty.

Even though I live on the other side of town and have a chippy round the corner, we always go here. The only place I'll ever get a kebab and the sausage is immaculate. Chips are beautiful and so is everything else about this establishment.

Got to say the last fish n chips we had here a couple of weeks ago were amazing. Fish was hot and scrumptious, and the chips were hot without being greasy. Brilliant. No queue. Staff friendly and funny.

Had to queue outside there were more staff than customers inside no staff wearing masks or sanitizer for customers.

My second visit to the kebab shop, kebab was really dry chips were reheated thought it was a one off,went again and the chips were still the same not the best food I've had won't be going again!

Visited this lunchtime. Due to social distancing had to queue outside as only a maximum of 3 customers allowed into the chippy at any one time. Had to wait a little while as the customers in front of me were asking for fish that needed cooking freshly. No problem. Had a freshly cooked large cod with a small cod ( thrown in at no cost) and large portion of chips. Too much for the two of us, and good value at £8.40. Fish was lovely. Good, friendly service. Doing a great job in these difficult times. Keep it up, we’ll done.
