The steaks were so juicy and soft. Service was efficient and polite. We were 6 of us and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We would definitely go back to this restaurant.

The cooking here is superb. Started with a prawn cocktail with just the right amount of sauce. Followed with calves liver which was served with caramelised onions, tomatoes and chips. The liver was cooked to perfection, juicy and soft and was delicious. My husband started with dolmades and then had beef stroganoff which he said was superb. Having been coming to this restaurant for years and the quality is consistently high and we always feel that we are very well looked after.

A very friendly and welcoming restaurant which has been operated since 1970s. Most of the clients were regular locals. It had snow white table cloths and napkins. We ordered prawn cocktails (hard to find in an ordinary restaurant) which were tasty, so were the steak dishes and desserts. The service was excellent . We had an enjoyable dinner. Highly recommended.

We had booked a table for 8 of us at 5.30 on a Friday evening after work. We arrived around 5.45 to find that all of the lights were off. We told them we had a booking and the member of staff told us they were closed. After some negotiation the lights were turned on and we were seated. A short while later the waiter came back and told us he had spoken to his manager and they were closed. We asked how long until they would open, would it be 1 hour, 2 hours? He said that he didn't know and it was up to his manager. He then suggested we leave and told us there is a similar restaurant down the road. Never before have I had a restaurant recommend we go to a competitor. This caused one of our party to cry, and he only stopped when we promised to buy him a balloon (he's not a child, he just really loves balloons). We walked back past Da Beppe (the same one that was closed) around 10 minutes later to find the staff member serving wine to a table. We were obviously confused so asked why the restaurant was now open when we were only just told it was closed. We were then invited back inside but fearing for our safety, we declined. We then went to Zizzi's by Goodge Street station. If you are looking for a restaurant that is open and serves authentic Italian food justa like mama used to make, I recommend you go there. 4.2 stars.
