High spirits is an amazing cocktail bar. The team is really friendly and knowledgeable, the menu has a wide selection of drinks and the cocktails are delicious. The happy hour is generous.

One of the best cocktail bars in Reading town centre, if you have a good taste for quality cocktails then its the place to visit, good hospitality too from friendly members of staff

We got served with really good cocktails. Ask for James . He knows his stuff can get good recommendations. This bar consists of a free swap policy. Which we didn't have to use but still got some free drinks at the end. Highly recommend!!

A fantastic cocktail bar with great drinks, great service, and great prices. -1 star for atmosphere as the club lights and music were a bit too Purple Turtle for the day and time, it could do with being a bit more chill earlier in the evening before getting turnt

An awesome independent cocktail bar in Reading, with lots of outdoor space and seating perfect for summer. Nicole always goes above and beyond remembering personal drinks preferences and catering to every request! High Spirits also regular host great events, live music and hospitality industry events. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Super super happy with my recent experience at High spirits. If you’re looking for really good cocktails, this is definitely a place to visit in Reading. We were unsure what cocktails to get, but Nicole helped us massively after we described what taste and alcohol are our preferences. Her friendly and welcoming approach made the night even better.

High spirits is good vibes all round, bartenders know how to make a proper cocktail if you’re after one in Reading. I’m Margarita man myself, but if you’re after a long citrusy drink, can’t go wrong with a Tom Collins. Ask for Nicolle if you’re after an equal measure of service and smiles

Had some really great evenings here and can’t recommend it enough! All great bartenders super friendly and certainly know a good cocktail, big shoutout to Nicolle though really knows how to make a good Tom Collins!

If you do come here and have a few cocktails, and you are not sure on what to have? Make sure you get served by Nicolle, I can’t recommend her enough! She’s was very easy to talk and she took her time to help us navigate through the menu. She also helped us with some recommendations based on our likings and preferences. We didn’t feel rushed by Nicolle and we felt very looked after that evening. All in all, very pleased with her service and would definitely come back as a result!

Had an impromptu evening at HSCC last Saturday 15th June such a warm and friendly welcome from all the staff especially Nicolle who manages the bar and staff impeccably nothing is too much effort. Great cocktails best in Reading and great live music too, my favourite cocktail of the night was White Badger! Will be back real soon to try more. Keep up the good work Nicolle and Co.

Lovely atmosphere, and very nice cocktails, we didn't know wich one to choose from and Nicolle asked us which flavours we were looking for, she recommended the cocktails and prepared them, SPOT ON! We had a really good experience and we will return.

One of the best bars I know. Amazing service and great bartenders. Hosted my birthday party there and they really looked after us. The manager and bartenders were wonderful all evening. Always been the best place to go.

The long Island ice teas are the best in Reading! The perfect mixture of sweet & sour! Bar staff were easy to speak to & approachable.

I’ve been here plenty of times in the past and was excited to return here… We came as a group of 9 work friends wanting to have a few drinks after work for someone’s leaving do. We were told we couldn’t order at the bar and we had to be sitted.. and then that we have to wait 10 minutes for someone to come over. The majority of our group were guys who just wanted a beer! We were told we had to make a tab which we didn’t want due to us being work friends and it was easier to pay separately, the person serving us gave off a sigh and said “let me talk to my manager”. Once they returned we all ordered separately but it just felt like a massive inconvenience for them when it just felt like a tip grab when we gave our cards to be asked for a service charge? Because of all this we had one drink and left as I just don’t recognise this place anymore. Cocktail bars should be a fun environment to stand up, have a chat, dance and socialise. It just felt like everyone was forced to sit down and drink like we were sat in a restaurant. It needs to go back to its old ways, please!

Great selection of cocktails which are decently priced at happy hours. A relaxed atmosphere. My go to is the amaretto sour.

Have always loved visiting High Spirits whenever I’m out for a drink in Reading! Always a lovely service from the staff and a great atmosphere! Plus the added bonus of happy hour offers too making a great venue. Can highly recommend their Amaretto Sour! They also host different events that a great fun to take part in and offer some great prizes too!

Had a lovely evening at high spirits, I came with friends to the Disney bingo night! Great fun and the staff Nick, Liam and Issy were all lovely, very friendly! Drinks were really good, great selection and the bingo was well organised and lots of fun. Would recommend

So we came in and were introduced to the new table service function that the bar uses now and we were sat and served by Issy. She was and absolute delight and very polite and attentive to what we wanted included even suggesting a delicious cocktail for me that I think was called "apple pie". Outstanding service and drinks! Hosted my baby shower here and all my guests were soo impressed with the venue. No one had been to the venue before and have said they can't wait to go back. A lot of them said it was the best cocktails they have had in reading! Staff were great too!

Attended a cocktail tasting session, the premade cocktails were pretty decent. sat there after the event and had a couple of cocktails. Long Island was nice, Scrooge's Fortune was terrific, very well made. Staff were really good and chatted to us giving good information and recommendations. Will be back !

Went here with my daughter for drinks. But cutting back on the amount of alcohol I drink in the run up too Christmas so tried their mocktails, not only did I not miss the alcohol, but they even served me a chaser with lemonade which I thought was a great touch and made the whole look right... 10 out of 10. Oh and btw, I have also been here for a drinking night, the alcohol cocktails are just as good 😊😊

Great atmosphere and good service

We visited as a group of 5 and it was our first experience here, unfortunatly due to the bar tender the guy with the 3 necklaces on who was extermely rude and arrogant; from asking where's the menu for the cocktails to him rudely pointing to the QR code like it was too much trouble to then asking a member of the group very rudely about her age and then demanding to see her ID even though the bouncers had checked it; no please or thank you then making a song and dance because we added an extra drink when he'd finished pouring the 1st ones it was just too much trouble for him, his cocktail making skills were awful not one member of the team enjoyed the drinks he made and we spent over £400 - it just wasn't worth it to be fair and the experience with the bar tender we won't be going back and can't recommend it to anybody else.

The best cocktail bar in Reading. I have been to a few interactions (sic) at this venue and only the name changes. Staff very friendly, drinks very good or as advertised. (mago mojito too sweet as expected.) Highly recommended.

I can't believe it's taken me this long to leave a review! Been coming here regularly with work friends and my partner for months now, absolutely love it. The highlight is how kind, chatty and friendly the staff are, and they really care about their craft. They love making cocktails and meeting new people, they basically give you free entertainment with all the funny things they come out with. And the drinks ... Such an amazing, diverse selection. About 30 cocktails on the menu (including like 6 alcohol free ones!) and they suit every single palette. Fairly priced too, between 8 and 11.50 and offering 2 for 1, 2 hours a day (4 hours for members, and until 9pm!). If you get the membership you also get one free cocktail a week curated by them. It's such a generous offer and one that speaks for the love they have of their customers. Can't recommend this enough as your regular cocktail bar of choice :)
