Located just by the Titanic Experience this is a dog friendly bar/bistro which was a popular location when we visited. Only drinks so cannot comment on the food but staff were welcoming and the drinks were fine.

The Irish stew had one small piece of meat. The vegetarian dish was dried out and bitter. My wife could not eat it. The Coke was good but a small bottle was 3 pounds. You really must avoid this place.

We were a little underwhelmed by the Titanic exhibition so popped next door to Hickson's Point for a drink to drown our disappointment. What an amazing little place it is. Great food, we had Clangers which are basically massive sausage rolls either a side of salsa and tortila chips washed down with a pint of cider. Staff were helpful and friendly, even after I accidently dropped my food on the floor! Irish music playing in the background, just a lovely ambience. We sat inside as it was a really hot day, however lots were sitting outside enjoying the sunshine. I will definitely return for some more food and drink - it is an amazing place with outstanding customer service!!

Nice place to stop for a rest. Only negative point was they close at 3.00pm! In a tourist area that did seem far too early.

We stopped for a few drinks after wandering round the titanic quarter. Sat in the beer garden which has nice views of the museum/ docks etc. Drinks were good, waitress was friendly & helpful.

We ate here both nights we were in Belfast. The pie, seafood chowder and chicken burger were all delicious. We got a table in the bar easily both nights as it was quiet. It felt like a traditional Irish pub and the staff were lovely The toilets need a refurb though in my opinion.

Nice to see an essentially mini Trademarket re-establish itself. Really cute decor and whilst there is a roof, there’s a large gap and from the alleyway, it’s still somewhat exposed to the elements so dress warmly (and the food will cool very quickly!). I couldn’t see any signage to the toilets though which would be a nice addition. Orto pizza was really nice. Wings weren’t to my liking but not really a wing person so wing lovers can discard that! Recommend!

Great little restaurant/pub. We were on our way to another restaurant and saw this one, menu looked ok so we decided to eat there. It’s Belfast city so didn’t expect much from any restaurant in the city. Food was great, large portions and tasty. Staff were fantastic, really really friendly and attentive without being pushy.

Six friends arrived for lunch in McHughs on our annual day out in Belfast together and were shown to the upstairs restaurant area. All very nice , exposed brickwork showing its historical past ,nice views etc. We all ordered the Irish Stew and some beers - a safe bet one might say!The waiter was friendly and helpful. The stew however was dreadful - very few potatoes not much meat and what there was ,was swimming in gloopy, odd tasting gravy. We were a local group from rural Ards who know their Irish Stew ,but everyone was disappointed at what was presented. After pointing out this issue we had to ask to see the manager . She arrived and after looking at what remained in the dishes she said she would speak to someone and disappeared. That was the last we saw of her. No ‘sorry about that and hope you come back again’ - nothing ,she just hid.We finished our beers ,asked for the bill , from which the stews had been removed and paid for the beers. We were astonished the manager didn’t return and there was an overwhelming sense of a lost opportunity by the manager to make the best of a bad situation. She made a disappointing meal worse by ignoring us and the issue. It wasn’t about discount or anything - it was about somebody agreeing the stew was poor and apologising. McHugh’s - get your act together for the sake of the real tourists!

Unfortunately, this is my second negative experience with the food at Devenish, and I’m writing this review in hopes of helping improve future visits for others. During my first visit on a Sunday, the food was cold. My partner had to send his ribs back, which were then returned after being reheated in a microwave, still of poor quality. My Sunday roast had cold portions, including the meat, mash, and vegetables. I decided to give it another chance last weekend with friends, but once again, the food fell short. My fish batter was completely separated from the fish and lacked freshness. The chips were lukewarm, and my friends experienced the same issue. To top it off, my latte was served barely warm. It seems like food and drinks are sitting too long before being served, which affects the quality. While the staff are always lovely, I won’t be returning for the food unless these issues are addressed.
