Good food and excellent service. Very popular, so probably best to book, especially at busy times. Disney cinema to keep the kids entertained when they get bored at the table !

Out for a meal with friends. Had a free pudding as it was mentioned we were out for a birthday celebration. Super service even thou the place was extremely busy will definitely visit again.

After accidentally stumbling across this wonderful restaurant in 2021 when my Son started Uni down here we have made it a regular visit when we come down here. Food is delicious and atmosphere is great. Staff can't do enough for you and I am sure we will be back again next year! Keep up the good work. 👍

Went back a couple of weeks ago after speaking with Emma (who was really helpful) after our first visit wasn’t very good! I must have caught them on a bad night as I can honestly say the food was delicious & the staff were amazing! It was very busy & we were a bit early but we didn’t have to wait long to be seated, all in all it was a much better experience.

Great food and atmosphere. Had the hickory Hog Heaven special platter 12.99 bargain. Hand-pulled pork, BBQ pit beans, Memphis style baby back ribs, jalapeño & cheese sausage & crispy chicken wings. Also they provided a bonus birthday cake which was unexpected and much enjoyed. Highly recommend.

We were celebrating my son and his fiancés birthdays. The food and service was excellent we had a great afternoon. It was marred slightly as when I got home and read the bill. I noticed a tip jar that was not mentioned to us, neither did I see it advertised anywhere. I feel we should have been made aware of this when I requested the bill, or when I received the bill. What made it worse we had left a twenty pound tip on the table. So it is not that we didn’t appreciate the service given but I feel disappointed by how this was done. Update. After e mailing the manager Emma and explaining my feelings the tip jar issue was resolved to my satisfaction.

Went for my birthday, it did not disappoint! Everything was brilliant. Thanks especially to the female manager who got us a table at short notice! Also a BIG thankyou to Millie & Tommy they went above & beyond with service, with a smile! Tommy even sang Happy Birthday to me along with my family. The male manager at the was brilliant also, allowing our children to top their popcorn with sweet treats! We will be back. 👌🏼💗

It's a nice hickorys, the food is what you expect from the chain, it is quite small compared to other locations but overall a nice place.

Me and my partner had to try the food here as we love BBQ and we where not disappointed in the slightest. Service was fantastic and very welcoming which made us feel very relaxed from the beginning The size of the portions where great and the food was as close to American BBQ as you can get. If you have not been I definitely go....and if you have been then I guess you should go again

Brisket was made to be in my mouth, the bbq sauce was gifted to my stomach. All is well with the world.

It was relatively quiet when we went, but it was mid feb. Food was incredible, fell right off the bone and exceptionally tender. Staff were really friendly, and the house gin was better than some of the branded gins out there. Total bill was just over £100 for two. Included 2 cocktails each and a soft drink each our meal was a sharer meal which was around £60.

Had the brisket of beef. I’ve had it a few times before. It was really fatty last night. Only had about 4 mouthfuls of meat. So basically paid £20 for a bowl of chips and some coleslaw. We complained but they didn't take it off the bill. They offered us a dessert but only my son wanted one. Disappointed in my food. Also steak was a bit chewy.

Been here a few times before. Always good food if not the cheapest. Drinks service is often slow and on this occasion the kitchen forgot to give us any slaw with our mains. Service charge of 7.5% is automatically added to your bill, too, which is a bit presumptuous. But it probably won't stop us coming back!

We are from South Carolina and can attest that the fried chicken was spot on. The friendly atmosphere and service were exceptional.

I cannot speak highly enough of Hickory’s restaurant 🥇🥇🥇The food is absolutely fantastic, the service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is phenomenal. When I entered with my family, we were immediately taken care of. We had our own waiter who was constantly ensuring that we had everything we needed. The food is delicious, everything is fresh and hot. I highly recommend this place. We will definitely be coming back many times. Thank you.

Amazing smokehouse and amazing tasting food slab of ribs stunning cheese topped fries with chilli's lush...beef rib melted and the side salad was the best tasting ever ..just a fun place really set out well and Sophie was a brilliant waitress as was the other members of staff really appreciated by ourselves...Will definitely be going back...keep up the good service 👍...amazing thanks Steve

Great food, I was really impressed, my wife, 19 year old son we were served by a tall skinny guy with a floral tattoo , he was very welcoming and great at his job. We will return.

Went at 11 on a Saturday morning. Seated quickly and given a bottle of water and some popcorn. Had to go and find someone to get a kids menu. Kids meal bought out early, which was great but meant they seemed to forget about the other food. Waited 25 minutes and had to ask where our food was before it arrived. Wasn't because it was busy as we saw other people arrive after us and get their food before us. Had a Mac & Cheese and Burger. Fries on the adults' meals were overcooked and not salted, unlike the kids' versions that were well seasoned and tasty. They add a service charge, which you can request to remove, but seeing as it was so much effort to get the bill, I really couldn't be bothered.

BY FAR MY FAVOURITE PLACE when I used to live in Coventry during University. I have been here at least 10 times and the food is always superb. The decor reminds me a a cool southern smokehouse in the States and the flavour is pretty similar considering its in the UK. Everything here packs a punch and is super flavourful and the portions are large as well. Our favourite was the baby backribs with the dry rub and the chocolate milkshake is a must have.

Birthdays at the end of the restaurant and a lovely romantic meal for us. Frickles are a new favorite too!

We had a great be lated birthday meal here. Busy, busy place, very popular, book well ahead, not to be disappointed. Costs about average, really. The menu was pretty good, although I couldn't see past the smoke House menu myself. Having travelled in the southern states, smoking or broiling is a popular way of cooking with some fantastic flavours and succulent meats on offer.

(couple in 30s) I love coming here. The food is always incredible. It was my birthday and date night. The only reason I put them down on service was if it's your birthday you get a cool pig sign and people wish you happy birthday. We didn't get that, also we had our order taken then I had to ask for popcorn, then we didn't see our waiter till it was bill time (a young lady brought us our food) and he took £5 tip off us. I realise we don't have to give the tip but I feel awkward asking to take it off.

The food was great, I recommend their Mac and Cheeses as well as their hard shakes.

Great place! I went with the Okra gumbo and it was fine but not as Okra heavy as I was hoping for. There's still so much food on the menu that I want to go back and try! Everyone was very nice and the setting was pleasant. Definitely will return.

Delicious foods good American atmosphere, do not wear a red chequed shirt here.

Had a meal out last week with some friends. The service was pretty good, helping us to accommodate some extra friends that came by. We couldn't choose a single option so went for the Smokehouse sharing platter. The amount of food is really good, but sadly the quality of it let us down a little, some of the meat was a bit dry and salty, really needing the sauces to help. Although the quantity was good, I was expecting a little more quality for what we paid, even at the expense of a bit less food. Overall I enjoyed the visit but I don't intend to visit again for food.

This place is Excellent! Their burgers are an absolute banger!

Food was ok shame about the other customers. As a couple we were sat on a nice table in a quiet area. Before our food arrived a group of 4 young lads arrived and were seated across from us. They then began to repeatedly swear, talk about STD diseases that one of them had and talk derogatory regarding women. As if that wasn’t bad enough they then sat another two young lads on the next table to us who sat with their hands down their pants the whole time. What kind of people do you let in here? It was full of chavs. I don’t understand your dress policy at the door when you allow people like this to enter. Maybe think next time if it is sensible to sit groups of young lads next to a couple considering the size of the restaurant and the fact it was quite. To make matters worse you told me to email you in your reply and then there is no response. We returned today for two complimentary main meals. The food was excellent and service too. Thank you!

It was our first visit to Hickory's and we loved it...the staff were great, food was amazing and the atmosphere was very comfortable. My wife accidentally lost one of her special earrings, as our night out was for my birthday. We didn't realise until we got home, so I called back and asked if anyone had found it. I got a call on the Sunday morning at 8.45am with the news that my wife's earring had been found by the cleaners...great news! Thank you Hickory's, we will return...and you can take your pooch 🐾🐾👍😎

Always great MEAT. Service just right, there when needed without any fawning. He happy steak and enormous cake, me happy brisket, great pit beans and mushrooms between us, given up on onion rings as found them too greasy. Good (well kept) lager. Nothing to not like.

We had driven passed this place a few times but never went in.went there on 5/1/24 and wow we fell in love with it it reminds use of restaurants in florida which we love. The food was as good as any barbecue we have had in florida and the menu is great .the staff where helpful and very chatty and happy .smoked brisket my wife had the cob salad and we split the mac and cheese with brisket.the only issue with the menu are the is only one stake and not jacket potato but all in all its amazing place.

An absolute favourite. Used to live around the corner from this Hickory's and admittedly was spending too much and eating too much on a regular basis. Now we don't live near I miss our trips to Hicks and really hope one opens closer to home soon as they seem to be bossing the expansion. The food is fantastic (particularly the brisket, wings and ribs), the atmosphere is great and the service is always super friendly. Honestly can't speak highly enough of this place.

The food was cooked and presented well, 5 of us shared and good flavours all round with the tator tots and the corn dogs worth having as a side or starter. The beer menu is very good and purity brew a beer for them, we had some Stone Ipa nice surprise to see this on the menu. Service was good other than a ++15 minute wait for a prebooked table which was the reason for marking down on the service.

Over priced, slow service, disinterested staff, poor ingredients and food that lacks flavour. Nowhere as good as it was before lock down when it was a five star venue. That about sums it up.

Our first stop at Hickory's was happenstance, but nowadays we plan our trips to ensure we can stop at one of the branches for lunch. We love the food here! The location was as lovely as the rest have been. Service is great, good accessibility, lots of parking spaces. We rocked on without a booking, but I imagine it must get busy so best book, particularly for bigger groups. The Peach Ice Tea and Blueberry Lemonade are greatly recommended. This time we tried the Smoky Bourbon Bacon Bites for starter and OMG they were amazing! Next time we need two plates of that. The other half had his usual Beef Rib, and I tried the Pulled Pork which was good, but I'd have preferred if the beans were on the side instead of mixed in. My only complain is that we're usually too full to try the desserts, which all look scrumptious! We'll try again next time.

Hickory’s is a must for BBQ & Meat lovers! Really enjoyed the sharing platter ad you get a taste of everything, a nice warm cider cocktail was perfect for a winter evening. Our server was friendly and attentive. Only downside is that we were placed by the back door so it was quite chilly, i had to leave my coat on whilst i ate.

As a south westerner I've been missing out on Hickory's and had never even heard of them until a friend suggested we go while I was up in Coventry for a work visit. We arrived and were greeted by a very friendly waiter, no tables were ready at our arrival time (we did not book in advance as it was a spur of the moment visit) so we were shown to the bar and ordered some drinks. After only about 10 minutes we were shown to our table and after being indecisive on the menu we decided to split a Smokehouse Platter between us. I expected it to be big based on the price but nothing could prepare me for the table sized Platter that would arrive at the table. Every single item was delicious, but I particularly loved the beans with pulled pork, the glazed chicken wings and the brisket which was so tender and full of flavor. The BBQ sauce and bourbon gravy were amazing and I regret not asking if I could take some of the latter with me as it was so good. After we had eaten our fill, our waiter provided two boxes for us to pack up the leftovers to take back with us. The overall bill was pricey but certainly well worth it. I will definitely be looking forward to going again next time I'm in the area.

Food and drinks were overpriced. Nearly £4 for a glass of pepsi! Half a chicken was bony and gristly, and we surmised it was a sparrow not a chicken due to the lack of meat! Servers were good and attentive A bit old hat now and not VFM.

Went here for a belated birthday meal and I wasn't disappointed the food was really nice and the service was great we was asked if we were celebrating anything and just said well not really it's a belated birthday meal and just before bringing us the Bill I was presented with a beautiful donut with happy birthday in icing sugar so lovely we will definitely be back to try something else from your menu thank you for a great experience

Went as big group of 20 and they was able to sit us. Staff was great and we had banter with them. What more can you ask for. Drinks and food came out fast. Drinks are expensive for what you get though. Food was great over all. My friend enjoyed it. Myself my food was dry but I can't really complain as we had such a big group of us. But I won't get the big platter next time as it was bit of disappointment for me since I was looking foward to it all week. So that sucked. Since it was expensive and I ended up leaving a lot of it. Over all was a great time and i will be back again.

We visited here on a Friday evening, after our friends had recommended it. Thankfully, we'd made a reservation, as the place was heaving. After a short wait, our table was ready, and we were seated and met by our waiter. Drinks orders were taken promptly and they came, also very quickly. After the food order was placed, that also came extremely quickly. 3 of us ordered the 8hr smoked Rib, which was amazing, and one ordered the pulled pork, which was also fab. We didn't order any starters, sides, or desserts and found that to be a sensible choice, as the portions are substantial.  Including 2 x Hickorys Pale Ales, 2 x G&T's, a bottle of Malbec + service charge, the total bill was £178.04, which we thought was reasonable. Some reviews mention the tip on the bill is high but it was less than 10% and we were ok with that. There's live music on a Friday also which was good. This type of restaurant isn't somewhere we would normally go but it was a nice change.

Went for steak & shake night. Had to pay extra for a bigger steak & 2 greasy onion rings, couldn't eat the steak, or the onion rings. Will think twice about whether I would go again, asked the waitress for a dressing that never turned up ! There were 2 of us. The extra money we had to pay was quite substantial. I've eaten here regularly, but I was very disappointed on this occasion! Things seem to have gone downhill

Food is always good, but when they are busy service deteriorates. Becomes slow, neglectful, and things are forgotten. Putting it right with taking things off the bill is good, but it still detracts from the experience.

Went with my wife and son, after discovering Hickory's online. Firstly I will say the staff and service were good, no problem there.the food however is not. Starters were ok, the fried chicken was ok,doesnt resemble american southern fried more like a Tempura batter but ok, the giant pretzel is hardly giant but again is just ok.Frickles were the best out of the 3. Now considering BBQ is supposed to be the highlight of this restaurant,it is very poorly done.My son and myself shared a smokehouse platter we are both big US BBQ fans, and have eaten more than our fair share of ribs and brisket.The Ribs were shoe leather dry with barely any meat, you had to gnaw the bone to remove the small amounts of meat which was really dry and over cooked, too long in the smoker IMO,or kept warm for too long,I say warm but I really mean tepid.The Brisket was tough and chewy, and far from pink in the centre and tasted like an overdone Sunday joint, with no juices.Wings were just ok.Wont be returning, can do better at home. Drinks were nice, if you are looking for a US BBQ experience,and have actually tasted US BBQ don't bother.

Treated to a day out with a few colleagues before I started new job... For was great ambience was perfect, been countless time NEVER seams to disappoint. Foods great, service spot on staff friendly and excellent.

Whilst the service was suitable and in a somewhat timely manner (apart from the fact a service bill is added automatically to the bill), the main selling point of Hickory's, that being their smokehouse, was poor. Advertised as "authentic tastes of the Deep South", in the form of briskets, ribs, sausages and wings, all of which are found on their £55 "Smokehouse Platter" were lukewarm, tough and dry. Take for example, the pulled pork found within the pit beans, which you would expect to fall apart at the touch, as pulled pork should. However, in reality what you end up with a large, anaemic looking chunks of tough, chewy and tasteless pork, with some beans littered on top. Another example would be that of the beef ribs, whether they be Memphis style, BBQ or purely smoked, all of which have very little discerning look or taste between them. When you think of real US-style ribs, you think racks of succulent and juicy meat with a tangy and thin crust of spices (if they're "Memphis-Style"), or slathered in sweet and smoky BBQ sauce. In reality, similar to that of the pulled pork, you unfortunately end up with dry, bland and tasteless ribs with little to no difference between their supposed styles. Given the more premium prices that Hickory's charge for their products, I would not recommend dining here, given the quality and experience that we had.

We stopped deliberately for lunch whilst traveling with family during half term and we are so glad. The service was professional and friendly but best of all they can cook beautifully and everything tastes amazing.

Had an amazing lunch today, served by Zoe went way above and beyond customer service. Worked in customer service for 26 plus years dealing with customer complaints etc she was amazing. Member of staff you don't ever want to leave. Also guy with glasses working along side her. Thank you both.

Always a 10/10 experience when going to hickory’s. Amazing atmosphere, food and staff! When we go, we’re usually a large table of 6 but service is always top, even when we visited on busy occasions like Christmas Eve. We fully recommend the sharing platter! 🥵 but the corn dogs are a MUST. Really recommend looking at their events available, we went to their recent firework display and dined in after, great display. Looking forward to hopefully going to one of the dog events next year!

Absolutely loved this place. Beef ribs were a bit overdone but still delicious. Very much American feel from smoked food. Loads of space. Kids cinema and popcorn is a bonus
