Came here with relatives. Had the roast beef dinner. Absolutely beautiful food and first class service. We’ll definitely be back here. Very friendly staff

Love this restaurant. The staff are wonderful and the food was amazing. We had the short rib burgers and they were excellent.

Had an UNBELIEVABLY good roast this week. Potatoes crisp, fluffy and garlicky. Beef had this moorish peppery fat on the outside, pink and oozing. Veg was decent. Next time I’m upgrading to the ultimate. I might even have 2. The Spanish guy who seated me was odd but friendly enough. Will always go back.

Had a blue fillet and was not disappointed. The £30 cost was possibly a bit steep but I had a spoons the other week that charged £17 for a rump and a pint…..I’ll happily pay an additional £13 for a better atmosphere and better quality food though so I was happy enough. Waitress incredibly pleasant.

Located on Main Street in Leamington Spa, busy restaurant with good atmosphere. Friendly staff, prompt efficient service. Good food and drinks, although it has to be said, possibly slightly overpriced. Would have been rated 5 stars if prices were more affordable.

Had dinner here the other night, it was a great night from the minute we walked in until leaving. Julia and Kizie were the members of staff looking after us and they certainly did. Very help and polite and nothing was to much trouble. They recommended what cocktails, wine and food. And they were all great choices. We had a steak, which was cooked to perfection and the wine complimented it. The steak was probably the best ive had for a very long time. Looking forward to go back. Thank you.

I have to say this is probably the worst meal I have ever eaten in any restaurant, We had booked into the Premier Inn and selected the meal deal. I always like to give constructive criticism as you will see from my previous reviews they are generally full of praise. The table service was bearable with a very apologetic waitress, but the food was exceptionally poor, both the quality of the food and the cooking. My 10 once rib eye was over cooked and more like a small 5 ounce rump that was as tough as an old boot. My wife ordered the Chicken Souviaki the chicken served was raw in the middle, we showed the raw chicken to the chef and manager, the chef apologised but my wife had eaten half of it the chicken (see photos) the manager said she would deduct our side orders. We decided to have dessert I had the affogato my wife had a chocolate brownie. The affogato consisted of a shot of coffee and the smallest spoonful of vanilla ice cream which melted very quickly ( see photo) We ordered a couple of cocktails to cheer us up on the 2 for 1 offer. My wife had to return her cocktails (French Martinis) which should contain Chambard raspberry liqueur, all my wife could taste was pineapple juice, so these were returned. Overall a pretty miserable experience which won’t be repeated.

Julia, the general manager, made some banging bacon and scrumptious sausages. she was very attentative, it was nice that everything was fresh and the eggs were runny and the food was hot. everywhere was super clean and we were very impressed. will defo be back!

I regularly visit Leamington Spa and this is the venue I chose. The service is excellent and the food is terrific. Highly recommend.

Bar and Block is one of our favourite spots in Leamington. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food was lovely - I had steak and the kids had burgers. Great value. Service was excellent. Aga is always so friendly. I highly recommend it. Great for families x

Beautiful dinner , service was brilliant by Owen couldn’t fault it, very polite and attentive. Tried the steak sampler was really good, would recommend the Bakewell cocktail too. 100% will come back.

Food and ambience were good but the service wasn't great. Somehow my server got both my side (mushroom I got instead of spinach) and drink wrong (a pint instead of a half) which is poor. Plus they didn't know how to use the card machine at the end. They were friendly and polite though.

WOW what an amazing experience !!!! Was served by Owen - what a charmer, cheeky (but professional) lad kept upselling me all night which probably explains the exceptionally long bill but hey ho #yolo. Moved to the bar area later and the drinks by Harry and Louis were spot on 😉 Definitely will be back as the food is amazing but it’s the staff that makes this ship sail🚢

Not the best. The surf and turf was very poor. The steak was mostly fat and it cosy me an extra £6 for two king prawns to make it a " surf and turf". Disgraceful. The only saving grace was the waiting staff.

Honestly I’m a bit spoilt and used to really good steak, so this would be great for my in-laws or whatever, but I’m a foodie. The steak was cooked perfectly. However it was pretty tasteless for a ribeye and seemed like a pretty poor cut of meat. The first two things we ordered were unavailable, my partner got showered with glass, we were seated by a stag do, the prawns and scallops were overcooked and the bathroom was such a mess I sent a video to my partner Han panned from the « we check these toilets regularly » sign to the absolute worst fing state of the bathroom.

WOW what amazing food, cocktails and service! Came with friends for a casual meal as we’d heard great things about the place and our expectations were superseded!

Amazing service from the team, edisa (the waitress) and harry (the bartender) in particular went above and beyond with the drinks and service. Furthermore, the chefs executed each dish like it was the last meal they could ever make.

Came for a bottomless brunch with some mates. Had a bit of a wait for some cocktails but could see everyone was busy and doing their best. Some incredibly rude and impatient guests felt like they were the main characters today and started recording the manger because of the wait! Karen’s everywhere unfortunately. I just want to say, we had a lovely time. Thanks for your efforts. Would probably avoid booking a bottle less brunch on Saturdays in future so as to avoid the Karens.

Lovely roast, lovey host, cocktails were great. The big boy in the kitchen was on top form. Roast was a little pinker than I’d usually have but it was delicious none the less. The wife scoffed a sundae.

Absolutely love it here. We go regularly on a Sunday. We vary between a steak, burger or a roast. Incredible customer service, fantastic food and always a great price. The manager, Julia, is so accommodating and will always go above and beyond.

Took some friends here for the evening and had a wonderful time. Steaks were all cooked perfectly, highly recommend the fillet and ribeye. My friend said it was the best steak he'd ever ordered! This was my first time for a bottomless brunch and it has put me off for life! I arrived hungry for a 2 course meal and honestly got served a meal barely adequate for a child. I couldn't believe it. I've been to this restaurant before and had great food so I think they should abandon brunches and leave it to the experts at turtle bay. I will say that we were given plenty of alcohol to make up for it but that was after complaining and chasing several times. Other tables around us barely saw a server the whole time they were there. Absolutely. Massive. Fail

Following a lovely birthday meal 2 years ago at same restaurant, we booked a bottomless brunch yesterday lunchtime. I should have heeded warning of what was to come when I tried calling 4 times prior to change party number and despite sending two emails also, never heard a thing back. We were eventually seated 15 minutes after arriving and by an hour and twenty into a two hour seating we had been presented with just about enough drinks to go around once in group. Food no where to be seen. We complained to Team leader, who along with his team I felt for. No general manager on duty on a Saturday to deal with complaints, and staff working not authorised to make decisions, to which many other tables where complaining also, putting them in a bad situation Eventually the food arrived and you are punished for having the bunch with qualify of meal provided. I could have eaten better at a service station. To be fair to team leader, he did manage to speak to the general Manager on phone, who agreed to discount our meal/drinks. But day/evening ruined and still find shocking your company would leave your staff in the position they were in. Speaks volumes how you look after your employees. 9 of us will never return sadly. Give up on bottomless brunches, as the competition around is far superior and I don't think Bar and Blocks heart is in it! PS. 5 star review posted yesterday very suspicious and find odd has the same name as General Manager!

Impecable service every time, delicious food. I adore and recommend the Chicken souvlaki and the Tiramisu . We are recurring customers and every week is a pleasure and looking forward to meals out at Bar and Block next time!

The place is pleasant, clean and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was delicious offering frying eggs, bacon, mushrooms, sausage, beans tomato. There were fruits, pastries, juices, tea and cofffee. I would definetly recommend the place for a nice breakfast.

Really disappointed the steaks were undercooked and not rested 2/3 were meant to be medium and ended up being rare and blue to rare which obviously means waiting, we went around this time last year and the same happened then so we will be not using the restaurant again atleast the manager and waiting staff were understanding

Came here for dinner and we had a good time. The rump steak was quite dry, especially on the outside which was a shame. The sirloin steak was better quality and had a delicious flavour. The staff are very friendly, happy and enhance the experience. It has a youthful atmosphere and is well decorated in simple and easy on the eye furnishings.

Great steaks. Julia and the team are fantastic and looked after us really well. This was our second visit. If you are really lucky you will get a hug from Julia too 😁. See you soon.

Overall very pleasant experience. Our host (general manager) was very warm and welcoming. Food was very enjoyable. Prawns could have been cooked a little less but overall that’s the only negative we have on our experience.

Popped in for a quick lunch bite int he 2 courses meal deal thing. Served by a diminutive chap with a great attitude. Top notch. Will go again and try the mains.

Awful food pre ordered food several weeks in advance but still had to wait 45 mins for starter to be served (party of 7 ).Them main course for 2 of party not as described should have been steak on puff pastry with garlic mushrooms and spinach and red wine jus.Actually given steak and chips when waitress questioned brought a portion of mushrooms and spinach but we had to wait so long we had eaten the steak and chips ,all the kitchen staff then went for a break all at the same time and the waiter looked shocked when we asked how long dessert would be. This was finally served. All in all very disappointing experience especially as the cost was £40 a head.(They did knock £15 off the bill when we complained).

Went there for Christmas Eve Eve. We bought the cocktail tree and as the waiter was bringing it over he spilt some of our cocktails. He said he split it because it was too full but I saw him actually lose control of it unfortunately. Which is fine but he should have remade them. He didn't offer to remake any sadly. So definitely ruined our experience and it's not exactly cheap either. Also the waiter didn't really check on us at any point. We had to wave to him twice and he was on his phone a couple of times so it was hard to get his attention. Apart from that the service was okay. Also to note it wasn't that busy, so drinks were brought over quick enough and food was made fast. The beef brisket burger was a bit dry. The salt shaker was broken too. The chips were cold. I probably won't return if it's that type of service at those prices!

We had lunch here yesterday and had fish and chips. Compliments to the chef as it was one of the best fish and chips we have ever had. Hope they keep this on the menu. Staff was great as well. 12 noon sitting was perfect for us as was not busy and just a lovely lunch.

After a miscommunication by our hotel our reservation had been ommited and bar and block were at capacity, there were no tables all evening due to a large party booking. Thanks to the manager and Nemo (who was fantastic and went above and beyond) our evening was rescued and our party of six was seated In the bar (asked if we minded) which we were delighted to accept. Bearing in mind they were at capacity, we were saved with professionalism and speed and compassion. To top it all, the food was great quality and prep was spot on and the dining experience was fantastic. 10/10 would 100% recommend to all

The man at the front of house told us the restaurant was fully booked. So we went outside, looked online, and made a booking for 10 minutes time. The restaurant was not more than half full for the entire time we were in there. It's not clear if we were profiled in some way. Anyway, we got in (to the half full restaurant) and had a nice time. I would suggest that they examine the attitude of the chap at the front of house. For context, neither of us had had a single drink. We were both dressed fairly smartly.

I'm uploading this picture as a parody of my experience. The steak was okish in terms of flavour and presentation. However, for the price I was expecting much more in terms of quantity. McDonald's chips didn't help. I wouldn't come back.

My husband and I popped in for a quick lunch today. There were about 6 customers. The waiter was friendly. I ordered a beef burger with fries and my husband fish and chips. The beef burger was very small and the fries were soggy and tasted of old oil. It was very disappointing. The Eaton Mess tasted as if it were made from frozen mixed berries. We both drank soda.

Came in late on a Wednesday evening as a fancied a quick meaty gobble. Had to wait for 10 mins to be seated as they were busy but I knew it was going to be worth it as I come here often. £6 surcharge for 2 prawns on the meal deal! Absolute rip off. Steak was full of gristle and sinew. Prawns were dry and quite small - 2 of them! Ice cream added to my pudding without requested… and of course surcharged again. Wouldn’t recommend

Really high quality food with speedy wait time. Vegan options that taste like authentic burgers and a delicious vegan chocolate torte. Staff was super friendly. Our server Kizie was attentive, knowledgeable (which helped deciding on what to choose), warm, friendly, and generally made our visit a wonderful dinner. Will definitely be coming back!

Having visited for Sunday lunch previously and had a good experience, I booked for our family (5 people) for Sunday lunch. The servers were very friendly, but given there were not a lot of guests in the restaurant the wait to order/drinks/food etc seemed very long. Once ordered our starters were all very good - hot and tasty. Sadly, this is where the positives end. Our main meals came out - the roast beef was overcooked and was more like a char grilled minute steak, the roast lamb was inedible and the burgers 'didn't taste right' (this was from two of our party (adults) - this is not from my direct experience). We left very disappointed and cheered ourselves up (and filled up) on dessert from an alternative restaurant. Unfortunately, I will not be recommending Bar & Block to any friends or family - neither will the rest of our party. As a side note - all of us had upset tummies that evening - I'm not saying it was from here, but it's the only thing we all had in common. What a shame.
