We booked as we didn't know how busy it would be and we were 20 mins early. However we were seated straight away and our waitress Marcela was lovely and helpful. Food was great, would come here again.

Good quality food, nicely presented, lovely staff & great service. The range of food was good and the dishes were delivered quickly and nice & hot!

Great place, amazing food and a lovely atmosphere (music not too loud and nice interior), friendly and quality service from the waitress Row, had a good laugh. Really recommend the restaurant, get a steak and a cocktail and you can’t go wrong!

Really poor food, no taste, no seasoning and very expensive for the portion size. £4.95 for 4 sprigs of asparagus! Mac and cheese balls and little or no filling! Definitely would not bother.

Absolutely fantastic customer service provided by Julia the manager, she managed a wedding party of 20+ for breakfast the morning after, with no hiccups or delays to food. Created an amazing atmosphere and incredibly personable. The other staff were equally as great and the food matched up to the standards, accommodating for any requests or dietary requirements.

Fantastic mother's day meal! Excellent service from Harry who was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Lovely to see a manager (Julie ) interacting with all guests. Just went for an expensive Mother’s Day meal for 4. It wasn’t very busy with lots of empty tables, yet staff were extremely inattentive and we spent more time trying to get their attention than eating. They mostly just hang around the bar talking. The steak is hit and miss: my husband’s was fine but mine (exact same order) was 1/3 inedible gristle. My daughter’s was the same as mine. So much for “speciality cuts!” Not worth the money.

This is a rating for their buffet breakfast. We returned for a weekend treat with my husband and we have not been disappointed. Their cooked breakfast is nice, fresh and filling. They had some fresh and tasty pastries (that can be preheated upon request) and some fresh ground coffee. You could also treat yourself to some pancakes or toast with jam/nutella and a piece of fruit. They have a selection of cereals and orange/apple juice too. Absolutely worth your money (£10.99pp), but be aware that you need to pre-book a table, especially on the weekends as they tend to be busy.

Not a patch on Millar and Carter, go there instead. Rather expensive and everything is extra. My 12oz fillet steak was the same size as my partners 8oz. The scallops were not available so not surf and turf or scallop stater. Drinks were expensive. The asparagus side for £4.75 was a disappointing 4 small sprigs on a cold plate. The Mac and cheese was tiny. Frankly I could have prepared a better steak meal for us at home in 15 minutes for a fraction of the price. Service was just enough but rather slow. The micro pot of steak sauce was insufficient. Not a good experience or fair value, definitely won’t be returning. Not a £215 experience Sorry!

We were staying in the premier inn next door and we just popped in for a drink. It was very quiet inside. We stood in the main area and was completely ignored by the young woman behind the bar. She clearly saw us waiting. I had to grab her attention in the end. It wasn't clear if it was table service or we should order there? When we asked this she just shrugged her shoulders and said nothing. We asked about the cocktails and ordered but we were told, "umm maybe" but i've got no lime, no mint etc. Not sure why we would order a drink with half the ingriedients missing. Her whole attitude was odd and actually quite rude. We changed our minds and left. She looked suprised. Who ever this person was needs some serious customer service training.

Lovely breakfast here every Wednesday could not fault it at all staff lovely as well

Great food great atmosphere will come back

Have been here a few times, generally it’s quite good, however on this occasion we received quite poor food. I order the spiral cut fillet 10oz, it’s a £36 dish, and from the picture you can see this steak was tiny, the flavours were incredible but unfortunately this meal was over in 4 bites, £36 for 4 bites of steak, was wondering where the rest of the steak was. My wife ordered the chargrilled sea bass, and this unfortunately was just completely plain, and boring, no flavour to it at all. Also it looked like they had a tough time removing the skin and simply gave up halfway

A wonderful evening out to celebrate our eldest sons birthday.. Julia and her team, mainly Harry and Emily, went above and beyond to make sure we had a memorable time.. Sone of the partyhave been known to be a bit fussy.. but even they said the food was exceptional and the service was friendly.. professional and personable.! Well done all and thank you for an amazing experience

Staying at Premier inn next door on a Saturday, so called in to bar to make reservation, told there was no need as plenty of availability, even gave us menu. Went down at 5pm, ready to eat, told we should have booked. Absolutely useless don't deserve our custom.

We attended bar and block Leamington for a cocktail masterclass with bottomless Prosecco. We made three fabulous cocktails with Julia who was wonderful. The Prosecco was free flowing and the food was superb. We finished with a desert cocktail I cannot recommend this masterclass highly enough. There is nowhere in Leamington to brunch which compares with this. We will be back

We had a really lovely experience. We did cocktail making with prosecco and a main course included. The three cocktails were tailored around our preferences. Julia and the team were so lovely, they looked after us really well. Julia is a fabulous host. We stayed well into the evening and had a few small plates too which were really tasty. Would definitely recommend for a fun afternoon.

Julia was amazing. So helpful with making sure we were booked in as part of our meal plan staying with Premier Inn. She absolutely went above and beyond with her hospitality. The food is amazing, the steaks in particular are so tender and perfectly cooked. We very much look forward to visiting again soon.

The lady who was on shift yesterday afternoon and this morning is absolutely amazing, she never stops working she's a whirlwind cleaning and re doing tables serving customers giving customers a very enjoyable experience and I'm really looking forward to eating here again tonight,

Our usual haunt on a Sunday , especially as it opens early, where others don’t. The main is a fair selection of food , endless tea/coffee & toast , but “ Aga “ the polish lady is always the icing on the cake , smiling , happy , chats when she gets time & a little workaholic to boot .

Had a beautiful lunch today! I truly recommend the chicken tacos, such a spicy boy. The tiramisu had enough coffee to keep me awake for a calendar year, just how I like it. Marrella was very attentive. Food came quickly with real care obviously taken. I wouldn’t taken a picture but I’m not a 23 year old living via Instagram. Sorry!

I don’t recommend this restaurant. We booked a table for 5 people yesterday (which is quite near Christmas) and all we got was disappointment. From the moment we entered the restaurant (around 8:25), we were rushed to order because the kitchen would be closed at 8:30!!! Then after ordering, we were rushed to order drinks as the bar would be closed at 9. Another disappointment was the fact that nearly 60% of the menu was not available. Then they served the food (which I will talk only about mine), the burger was so dry, and not seasoned well because you could still smell the unpleasant smell of meat. Then when we started eating( around 9:10) they started to turn off the lights and I felt, ok, we were being kicked out. Overall it was not a good experience at all it was a big disappointment, especially near Christmas! I hope they improve their food quality and service policies.

The atmosphere is superb with great service... I kind of crushed on the waitress "silly joke 😜". On the overall it was great i will be visiting the place often 😀

Usual Friday ritual for breakfast..... it was good. Julia had to pull out all the stops due to unforeseen circumstances . Herself and team, Anthony, did an amazing job in difficult circumstances. Awful festive menu.cold dinner. Had to ask for pigs and blankets and stuffing. Told chef having a Melt down and not even busy. Two chunks of cheddar is not a cheese board!

Received a 30% off voucher so we thought we would give it a go. Steaks poor, not tender, served a on cold plates, half the menu not available, waitress did her best bust manager couldn't even say sorry. We will not be going back.

Firstly the staff are very attentive and friendly, our waitress csilla was really lovely 😊 The restaurant is well laid out and has a nice vibe. Unfortunately I was not that impressed with the food, I chose the Turkey off the festive menu and although the portion of food was good it all lacked flavour. For dessert I chose the churro sundae which was really disappointing, the churros were rock hard and the random few cornflakes in with the ice cream was an odd combination. I have eaten here before and really enjoyed the food but on this occasion I was sadly disappointed.

Sunday beef was amazingly tasty. You can really tell that care is taken when it’s cooked. Seasoned beautifully and rare just the way I like it. Had to have a chocolate orange cookie dough to finish me off.

Brilliant service and the steaks are amazing. Went for the spiral cut Angus steak which was cooked perfectly. Loads of flavour and succulent fresh.

Tried the new Xmas burger, was as you’d expect. Cheese fondue…..I’d marry that. 7 times. Nice pint of cider to wash it down with, delightful! Chefs and waitress on form. Very pleasant experience.

The current menu is disappointing, can't get a roast unless you want 2 courses for £28. We opted for 2 burgers, even these are £20 and were delivered without any garnish, so just meat in a brioche bun with a small container of chips (approx 12). With a regular glass of wine each, the bill comes close to £60 before the service charge. The bill comes with a 25% off next bill voucher....hmm, that's more an appropriate price, but I'm not tempted. The place was fairly empty on a busy weekend for the town.

Had such a great roast dinner last Sunday amazing quality of food especially the beef. The service was second to none by Julia and her team would highly recommend

Me and my boyfriend Mr. Hood came here for our 1st anniversary and we had an incredible time. The food from starters to mains was cooked to perfection. Julia was an absolute star, decorated our table for us and made us feel very special on our very special night. Thank you so much!

Had a lovely evening here and was well looked after by the lovely waiting staff. Delicious food & cocktails. We had the Chateaubriand which was a fab & decent sized piece of meat, well seasoned with asparagus, long-stem broccoli, and garlic mushrooms. This came with two portions of fries or thick cut chips. We did ask for the meat to be given a little more flash-fry heat after it was served on the rather rare side of med-rare. This was done efficiently and without fuss or interruption to the meal. The negroni cocktails were 2 for 1, and we had one of each type (classic Campari, and Aperol). Nice touch that there’s a bottle of still (tap?) water on every table - after all not everyone likes fizzy drinks, or alcohol. Some establishments try to upsell/steer you toward more expensive water. My wife loved the Eton mess pudding. My affogado was simple but unremarkable. We had a voucher for 30% off, and spent £80 Overall - smashing meal on a date night & would love to visit again.

I was a bit disappointed as my expectations we're quite high to due to friends telling what a good buffet breakfast I can get from here and good price. Well wasn't the case for me. Not very well stocked when I went, at 9:30am. No bacon, no baked beans, only fried egg, not a good choice of fruits either. Regards service, that wasn't very great either...took a while to be seated and until my friend arrived the staff told us that if we haven't reserved might not have table for us ( although I could see a few available). Eventually been seated and that's it, no explanation where everything is or how it works.

From the moment the manager licked her fingers to pick up the menus from the bar for us, I had a bad feeling about the evening we had ahead of us. Starting with the only positive, our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Otherwise, the whole thing was awful. When food was served the beef burger was crumbly and very dry, and lukewarm at best. The £27 beef tacos were served almost cold with sides that were wrong to the menu. 2 other tables in our periphery also complained and sent food back. A real disappointment, one we definitely won't repeat.

We had dinner on a Saturday, the place was 1/2 empty. I now see why, the service was good, the staff were all nice but the food is not up to scratch. The Chimichurri is just red chilli paste and copious amounts are used. I like spice but this ruins any other flavour. I ordered a fillet medium, it came rare so I asked for it to be done a bit longer. No problem, these things happen. When it returned I went to cut into the main part and it was all fat and sinew! I apologised and said it’s a really bad cut, the manger agreed and said yes I can see I’ll get another one. They gave us a free drink which was lovely and the new steak arrived 1/3 of which was fat and sinew! I don’t know who supplies the meat but you need to change! I’ve had better quality rump than the alleged fillet that was served last night. You are a steak house serving cheap inedible cuts of meat. We won’t be coming back.

Great food, good wait time for a Saturday evening. Lovely service from Charlotte, attentive and friendly, nothing was too much trouble.

Just been for the all you can eat breakfast. Greeted by a lovely lady as we walked through the door. Showed us to our table, and explained how everything worked. Complete choice of cereals, continental breakfast or full english. Between us we had a bit of everything. Pastries were fresh and crispy. The full English is a buffet style, all the food was hot and tasted really good. Add in the couple of lattes, this was really good value. Staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble. Definitely will be back.

Nice enough venue but that's pretty much where the good news ended. The steak was chewy and not reflective of the price point and once you'd removed the fat there was only a few bites left. The burger was luke warm and the chips were definitely not as described. More like oven chips! All this was topped off with a 160 quid bill!!! Very disappointing. Will never return and I suggest you give it a miss too.

All you can eat buffet breakfast. A great selection of continental and cooked breakfast. We visited this morning and were made to feel very welcome. The cooked breakfast items were hot, fresh and good quality. It’s excellent value at £10.99 as it includes unlimited juice and hot drinks. Would highly recommend breakfast here.

The service was good but the burgers my son and I had were not worthy of the extortionate price of £35. You seriously need to up your skill sets as chefs as the burgers were dry and the portion size was a joke to😡

Amazing place, beautiful decor, attentive staff, delicious food. Spoiled only by the head chefs comment. My salad arrived, I chose to add on the sea bass. I checked and there was no avocado (my favourite) I queried this with our server, she checked the menu and agreed there should be avocado. She went to the kitchen and came back with a few small chunks of over ripe avocado, and said "head chef said this salad doesn't come with avocado, but has given you some anyway" Head chef clearly needs to read his own menu. There is only one house salad on the menu, myself and the server could clearly see it said avocado. Then it was like he gave me some as a favour!!

Great food options. For lunch had an 'a la carte' grill and used a 25% discount.

Amazing! Did not disappoint, from start to finish! The food was great. We had the Roast Beef (cooked to perfection) came with all the expected trimmings and the cauliflower cheese was a perfect addition. You couldn’t wish for a better dining experience. The Service is next level, so friendly and welcoming. They know what they are doing! Our favourite place to eat in Leamington for sure! A*

Visited for the first time today and had a wonderful experience. The hostess was so welcoming and friendly, explaining how the breakfast buffet works and answering all of our questions and did the same for every customer who came in after us. The breakfast buffet was so worth the price and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was also calm and relaxing. I'm not a local but will definitely be paying Bar and Black steakhouse another visit when I return in the future. Thanks for making my experience a positive one :)

First of all the lady that looked after us was amazing. But she finished her shift shortly after our food arrived which was ashame as I’m sure she would have looked after us. I love a good steak, who doesn’t… sadly the taste was a huge let down. For me Ive most definitely tasted better elsewhere…the crispy beef starter though was incredible and I highly recommend! No steak Diane sauce they ran out….Poor ordering by the kitchen clearly. Apart from peppercorn it’s the most popular sauce to a compliment your steak, to have run out no acceptable. Why not order enough to cater for your customers. No excuse. We had a discount luckily and there were 3 of us and without the discount the bill would have been over £150 no way did I feel the cost reflected the food taste. £4.50 for 4 asparagus spears. Rather high, I thought u might of received more for that price. My husband felt the check back was rather quick didn’t give us anytime to try the food, so couldn’t comment otherwise we may have. Would I go back for steak No, but their breakfast at ‘bar and block’ is amazing.

The breakfast was nothing outstanding and the place was dirty and sticky! I am sure that with a good clean it can improve.

The ultimate sampler was a good idea and the meat was cooked exceptionally but the quality of the pieces of meat were average. The lamb rump Sunday lunch was very nice! Will try a full steak on its own next time.
