Very good starters had the squash burger but if wasn't anything special Nice place and atmosphere but the food and drinks are so expensive so wouldn't rush back

It all started with a corndog. I’d been craving one for the last five years, ever since we moved from California’s high desert to the UK during the pandemic. Eventually, I gave up on the thought until one sunny afternoon... Luckily, we happened to be in the area, and when I Googled “corndogs near me,” Hickory’s Smokehouse popped up at the top of the list. We weren’t sure what to expect, but the moment we stepped through the door, we knew we were in the right place. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, full of that crossroads rustic charm I hadn’t realised I’d been missing—old adverts, wood-panelling, flickering lanterns, and the kind of Americana that wraps around you like a well-worn denim jacket but minus the politics and plane tickets. Popcorn and a cinema room? Whaaat? Our server, Phil, greeted us with genuine friendliness and effortless humour—the kind that instantly puts you at ease. And then came the food. The corndog was everything I hoped for and more: golden, crispy, nostalgic… but waaaay better than any I’d had in the States. We also ordered the brisket, steak and eggs, cornbread, kids’ mac & cheese, a Cobb salad, onion rings, and drinks that tasted like summer in a glass. We promptly got the itis y'all—as you should with any proper BBQ. The very next day, we found ourselves at the Earlswood location (because once clearly wasn’t enough!), and guess what? It was just as magical. As a family with young kids, we were especially struck by how thoughtfully it's designed. From the friendly staff and activity packs to the brilliant garden space, it’s clear this is a place that truly understands family dining. And best of all? You don’t need to pay a king’s ransom to get here.

Absolutely amazing as per every Hickory's we have been to. We love these places, great food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. I have never had a bad experience and would always recommend going to one. P.s. have three courses. Starters, mains and deserts as they are all amazing and have great options.

My colleague booked a table for a few of us while we were at a conference at NEC. I checked it out online as there are no outlets where I am based. I was skeptical. It was excellent. Great menu, great choices and great service. I had the beef rib which was as good as any I have had in the states.

Lovely place to eat, everything runs like clockwork. I'll be back soon I hope.

Quite nice place the food could be better it has the precooked reheated feel about it to me and it is quite expensive. They have Heineken 0.0 on draught which is brilliant and the staff are really nice it's a good 7.5 out of 10

I absolutely do love this place and I do keep coming back and when the food is spot on, but unfortunately I find it to hit and miss and for this reason it doesn’t get a full stars from me. Also the deserts are trash.

I came here today to find that all 4 of our foods was cold. They gave us no napkins and no cutlery. And I also found that they made us pay before we even ate. Extremely not on. Not a good experience and won’t be coming back

We were a group 7. With 1 vegan and 2 vegetarians. Highly recommend the vegan and vegetarian options. Everyone enjoyed their food. The service was amazing. We were served by Rebecca. She knew everything about the menu from portion sizes to amounts of spice. Rebecca made us all feel so welcome. Especially our daughter celebrating her 18th. We will definitely be back. Booking needed as this place gets packed. It was full on a weekday at 6pm. Nice and clean with good amount of free parking.

Steak was very chewy and about a third was inedible. Red wine was delivered COLD- a no-no for red wine. They said it was on draft. Some of our party chose nicer food options but our steak was very disappointing. Birthday boy enjoyed his milk shakes!

I visited on a busy Friday night and the venue felt intimate, warm, welcoming, and everyone was right in the mix of service. I was amazed with how smoothly everything ran - the food, drinks, and service were all incredible! The bar was full of regulars and there was a real atmosphere there. On top of that, the restaurant was totally bursting at the seams, but the food and drinks were still quickly delivered and to such a high quality!. Manager Liam took the time to show me around as I was so interested in what Hickorys was about which was again really appreciated. He showed me the smoker where which was being reloaded by the chef - I thought this was an incredible touch to see how fresh and high quality everything was. I liked being able to see into the kitchen with the chefs table. I was served by Tyler and Cara who spoke really highly of the company which was really nice to see whilst they gave such good service! Food and drinks amazing, I will definitely be back!

As a Canadian I was skeptical that a BBQ in England could be really good. We ordered the platter and it was so good. The brisket and beef ribs melted in my mouth. The dry rub ribs were the best I’ve ever had. I had one bit of the sausage and chicken wings… not my favs but good enough. I like my wings crispier. Sausage is never my favourite. I couldn’t get to the BBQ sauced ribs because I was too full. Corn bread was soft fluffy and loaded with flavour! Excellent food.

The service, food and environment were wonderful! Made my birthday so special. Emma was phenomenal and the team worked so hard to cater to my needs and make the day incredible. Thank you to everyone at the restaurant. Highly recommend the beef rib, wow!

Great service and great food. I visited on my own while working away and was served swiftly with the usual hickorys quality. Seems a very well ran restaurant within the Hickorys chain.

A few of us went here last night. Really really nice food, I had the steak which was phenomenal. Nice milkshakes. The only thing I’d critique was the chocolate cake was quite dry.

Although booking we were sat at a table next to a outside door , unfortunately evey few minutes someone oped the door and it was unbearable with the cold...we did ask staff and they agreed and saud it was a known issue but couldn't change the table. We left quickly as we're unable to enjoy the meal.. On payment they removed the service charge for the inconvenience! Will not be returning

The best tasting steakhouse I've ever been to with the friendliest of staff. Absolutely fantastic. There is free cinema for the children and grown ups to watch whilst waiting for their food. The decor is Texan/ American even the staff are dressed in this American style. The portion sizes are great to feed you and all beef dishes I had were very tender. There are also fish, chicken, pork options and the pecan chocolate dessert is divine. Highly recommend it.

What a great spontaneous random find. Like being back in the USA. Great food, great service great feel about the place Sharing platter was delicious and drinks hit the spot. Never expected to find something like this in the area.

Negatives first. A member of staff swearing in front of our 9 year old wasn't a good start. Service was good otherwise. The brisket was dry which was a shame. "Jacobs ladder" was also dry. Pork ribs were pretty good, as were the beef short ribs. Wings and sausage were very good. Corn bread was perfect. Good chips too. Loved the sides. Coleslaw and pickled onions hit the spot. The pork and beans was lovely but, dare I say it, had too much pork in them. The kids milkshake was awful value for money as the cup was half full. Tasty though. Would possibly try again.

Just amazing!! I was looking for a pub near Coventry and stumbled upon this place. What a treat. Kara behind the bar went above and beyond for my family. Great experience, food and ambience. Almost as good as the very best smokehouse in Idaho!

Excellent food and great service

Visited last Thursday and was really disappointed compared to other Hickory's that we have been to - 20 minute wait at the bar past our reservation time which would have been fine but me and my partner were then placed in between 3 large tables, one of which had a child that spent the whole time screaming, and could hardly hear ourselves think! Food wasn't great either, my chicken was quite dry. We will avoid revisiting this location next time we want a Hickory's.

I am very pleased and definitely going back here. Lovely employees kids can go watch a movie in their little movie room with popcorn.

I like this place. Plenty of choice. Staff are good I had an issue with over cooked chicken the bill was reduced without any hassle. Offers spicy sauces which is a bonus And cheese chilli chips

If you are after authentic American put bbq, they have it all. Brisket, ribs, pulled pork, wings, sausage. Wood fire smoke. 7/10 on the food. Bbq was cooked a bit hot so it dried out, they could use a bit more low and slow, but overall really well seasoned and great variety. Servers and barmen were top shelf.

Visited last night as a surprise for my birthday. Table of 10. Lovely atmosphere. A nice 'Happy Birthday' message on the table - nice touch and the birthday board. Everyone thought the food was amazing. This was our first visit to you, it will not be our last. Thank you for a lovely time.

Fast and friendly service Food portions small and very expensive. I had a burger, it was nothing special and quite tasteless. I work in a food place and sell smashed burgers,from our local butchers at £5.50 which was far taster. Unfortunately we won't return

I celebrate my birthday at Hickory's most years, and always enjoy the food and people. You do need to book. Their menu is varied but with limited options for brunch. I would not recommend the waffles they tend to be dry. The coffee is OK but more robusta than arabica so a bit bitter. I did enjoy my muffin and tatter tots.

Excellent food and service. I was worried about coming here as I am a vegan and it's a smokehouse specialising in smoked meat. However the frickles were out of this world and the vegan fajitas were absolutely incredible I will definitely be returning. The staff were all very pleasant and couldn't do enough for you.

Customer service was fantastic. Attentive but not overbearing. Friendly inviting faces, it's a shame all places aren't liek this :) The food was lush and the added touch with the popcorn n movie theatre made for a nice little trip.

Had a valentines meal here. It was nice. Staff were friendly and food was lovely. Would definitely revisit for the grape soda! It’s our favourite.

Firstly watch out for the potholes in the car park. Tyre wreckers right there...... Very meaty fayre as you would expect. We had a great server. Rapid food. Good pale ale. Not slimming!

Incredibly friendly, helpful and genuine staff, and amazing food. The platter for 2 is gigantic and we'll be enjoying what we couldn't eat tonight, tomorrow. Amazing bar staff as well and the best milkshake.

The food was great, there are great delicious selections of dishes. We had the chicken basket and the go big or go home burger. Both were great choice. The service can be more chatty to feel more welcome. But in total we were happy Definetely we will return, thank you.

EARLY HOURS OF 30TH JAN 2025 UP ALL NIGHT BEING SICK TWICE AND WAS FELLING SICK THEN FOLOWED BY DHIORHA ALSO, RESULTING ME BEING OFF WORK LOST OF PAY. FURTHER MORE LOW LEVEL OF POOR SERVICE IN RESPECT OF ASS REST MANAGER LIAM MAKING A COMMNET TODAY 31 JAN 2025 SAYING WE HAVE A REST TO RUN. JUSY FOUND OVER ALL DINNING POOR THAN LAST YEAR IN 2024 WHICH WAS AMAING AND OUTSTANING. UP ON SPEAKRING TO EMMA REST MANAGER TODAY I DIDNT FEEL IT BEING TAKING ON BOARD AND IT CAME ACROSS EVERY TIME I TRIED TO PUT MY POINT OR WANT TO ADDRESS SOMETHINING BARRIERS CAME IN THE WAY. ITS ALSO COME ACROSS THAT THE REST MORE KEY THAN MAKING SURE CUSTOMERS WELL AND FOOD COOKED CORECTLY ITS SEEMS TODAY.

Had the mac and cheese with maple and chicken, I poured the whole pot of maple syrup on the top… BIG mistake. I couldn't finish the rest! Was so sickly. Was my fault, however maybe if they gave a smaller pot of syrup it wouldn't have been as bad. All in all, was expensive and meh. However service was good and fast. Although they slap a big fat tip on ur bill😳

We've been here many times and my daughter was really looking forward to celebrating her birthday. Food is of poor standard and quality, drinks have lowered in standard, service has dropped and food is over priced. They're cutting corners in the wrong place. Hickory's always used to make a deal of someone's birthday. No effort was made to make her feel special. Everything has 'magic dust' on, which makes in unpalatably spicy. There's no option to reduce the spice level and no warning you're about to have your taste buds wrecked! Tried to speak to the manager who argued with me when I told him his standards had dropped and menu had changed from the good quality it used to be. He went to speak to the chef to raise the points I'd made and he came back and apologized. Unfortunately won't be visiting again.

Had the smokehouse platter for 2. It's a big portion of food, a nice selection, but unfortunately ours was cold and the brisket was dry as if it had been sitting out on the hotplate for a while. Basically just OK. The service was good but we won't be going back.

We had a lovely meal with my son. The new playground is great. Moreover we were served by the most attentive male waiter. I didn’t get his name but he has been working at Hickorys for 4 years and had a lot of piercings. He was great- so friendly, welcoming and chatty. We knocked a glass of apple juice spilling it all over and he immediately helped us clean it, brought a new glass of apple juice free of charge and it didn’t seem like any hassle at all. I then wanted to add extra tip and he just refused. This person is just made for customer service. Amazing.

Celebrated a 30th birthdays here. Food was great, they took good care of us. 10% Tip was included in the bill, a practice I don't like at all. We normally tip 15% for good service, so the punishment was their loss.

Mostly nice food apart from the salmon which was overdone sadly. Didn't make a fuss though as everything else we had was lovely.

Busy but service was still good, are in the veranda and wasn't cold as had heaters and blankets! The cinema room is a nice option for the kids!

He estado aquí un par de veces antes, pero vine aquí por mi cumpleaños con mi marido y un grupo de amigos y lo pasamos muy bien! Un montón de tiempo dado para dejarnos mirar a través del menú y elegir, la comida era deliciosa! Incluso tienes una bolsa de palomitas para picar mientras esperas. Teníamos la hamburguesa de pájaro y bestia que era sabrosa (el pollo en ella era increíble! ) y el plato para uno que mi marido siempre dice que es increíble! Las estrellas porno congeladas son tan buenos, que recomendaría encarecidamente. La coca sabía un poco mal, tal vez el jarabe o el gaseosa se agotaba, pero todavía era potable. Postre compartimos el bocadillo de galletas que fue un poco decepcionante ya que la galleta era sólida, pero el yogur helado con él era muy bueno! Como era mi cumpleaños habían puesto un cartel de pizarra en la mesa que era un toque agradable, y luego también sacaron una rosquilla con una vela y cantaron feliz cumpleaños! Lo cual fue una sorpresa encantadora. Realmente recomendaría Hickory’s, ideal para celebrar, solo asegúrese de reservar con antelación!

Food is precooked, microwaved and then put in the oven to seem like it's proper food. While the quality of the ingredients is decent and the staff work efficiently, this place has no reason to exist. The Tip Jar is the cherry on top, I've left it to the staff, but... you have lost a customer forever and of course you lost the main thing: the word of mouth which brought me here but will never bring anybody I know to try this awful culinary experience. Lovely food. I had the veggie burger and was very nice. Grape soda was delicious. It was very busy (for a sunday). Staff were lovely. The only reason for 4 stars is because we waited a very long time to receive our drinks we ordered, to the point that we were ready to leave almost when they arrived so perhaps needed more staff. The little cinema also stopped showing movies and was really messy but I'm sure kids don't really mind the mess but alot sat in there waiting for a film to come on and almost 2 hours later still nothing so was a shame for them. Didn't impact my kids as they're too young.

Mediocre food. Lackluster service. Food came out lukewarm but service is so slow and we were in a big group so it just wasn't worth complaining about. I ordered the Go Big or Go Home burger which looked a lot bigger on the photo than in real life. I thought that's usually the case but it was missing a whole patty! Didn't realise until the end though. It's a shame, nowhere else really does food like it, but I think they know that and they can afford to hire staff with no service experience or training. The prices are just too high for the standard of service and food. I've been several times and it has always been the same - Lukewarm food. Average service at best and overpriced.

came here for my sister 25th birthday. really great service and i enjoyed my free popcorn i had a gorgeous stake and loved the vanilla milkshake really great. They have a great gluten free selection. They did a great job with my dad as he is celiac.

A vibrant smokehouse that offers tasty food and great value for money. I visited on a Wednesday and went for the “Steak and Shake” offer, which included an 8-ounce rump steak, peppercorn sauce, chips, and a milkshake for £12.99. The steak was pink, just as I requested, the sauce rich and sumptuous, and the chips perfectly fried. I also indulged in a side of pork and jalapeño sausage — delicious! The servers were really friendly and attentive. All in all, a great dining experience. I will definitely visit again!

Over all service was good waiter very polite. Milkshakes are very expensive and tbh didn’t taste that great for the price. Everything else was lovely though. What really annoyed me and will stop me from returning is, at the end of the meal the receipt came and it was £201! I mean that’s. Bit ridiculous 3 children’s milkshakes alone was over £16. I had an adults one which was £9 I think and my partner had 3 beers god knows how much that was. Anyway I’m looking over the receipt I noticed our meal actually came to £184, and they put a £14.03 tip on. WTF. It says on the bottom to ask to take it off there will be no judgement. Well me I would’ve told them to take it off because it’s my choice if I want to tip £2, £5 or not at all. But my partner who has very bad anxiety didn’t want to say anything and felt so embarrassed. Places like this make me sick. Don’t ever assume someone wants to tip. If they want to they will give you a tip at the end. In my opinion. Anyway as said before I won’t be returning because I think it’s rude for places that makes so much money to then do that to your bill and some people that may not even realise they’ve done this and paid!

Visitado anoche como una familia de cuatro. Servicio de primera clase y comida increíble. Siempre malcriado para elegir con comida y bebida. Me encantan las papas fritas y los aros de cebolla son deliciosos. Sin duda volveremos a visitar pronto

Such a warm welcome when you walk through the door. Lovely clean restaurant with a great atmosphere and amazing food. Staff were attentive and really nice. Good sized car park too. All round great experience and would definitely return!

Chips came out cold. Brioche bun, stale. Staff slow to act. I have been coming here since it first opened unfortunately I don't think I will be returning again totally ruined a very important occasion for me and my family.

Vine para un almuerzo familiar el día de Año Nuevo. Desafortunadamente la experiencia no estuvo a la altura de su estándar habitual. El personal era lento y nuestro camarero parecía cansado - posiblemente el resultado de larga noche de fiesta NYE! Nos mostraron a nuestra mesa, pero luego esperamos 20 minutos antes de preguntar a alguien si podíamos hacer nuestro pedido. El Mac con queso (que nuestros hijos siempre piden) era muy acuoso y no su textura cremosa habitual. Elegí los nachos de cerdo de los aperitivos. Lamentablemente estaba muy seco y el encurtido rojo era demasiado! Nuestra mesa estaba reservada para 12: 30 . Habíamos terminado a la 1: 20 y pagado. Entonces un camarero se nos acercó cuando todavía estaba terminando mi bebida y dijo “voy a necesitar que se vayan, ya que tenemos esta mesa reservada para otra fiesta”. ¿Es estándar permitir solo 50 minutos por reserva de mesa? ? Si hubiéramos comido pudín también ¿qué habrían hecho entonces? Muy decepcionante.

Absolutely gorgeous food! We ordered the sharing platter and was not disappointed in the slightest! My friend cannot usually eat meat on the moan.. luckily that weren't an issue because the meat simply slid straight off! Truly impressed and despite the amount came very quickly! Our reservation was for 11 and we were done by 12! Highly recommend the bacon bites appetiser too!!

Absolutely loved this place came london to visit

This restaurant truly blew us away with the quality of food and service. We went to a show down the road at the Warwick arts centre and were recommended to try this place. Probably the highlight of the evening and will be going back again for sure. Brisket is a must try, they even give you masters to try if you haven't tried it before.

Incredible service from the team at Burton Green. This review is based on two fantastic experiences at the Burton Green restaurant. My wife and I took my youngest daughter, who has fought a life threatening illness this year, out for lunch. This was her first time eating out in months and the staff were amazing. Not only did they present my daught with a gift box and £50 voucher but they also covered the bill for lunch. When we returned two nights later the staff remembered us and were equally amazing. Even though Castle Bromwich is closer to home, I'll only be using Burton Green from here on in. Superb.

Food was awesome. It's not often I visit a restaurant and would eat literally anything on the menu but that was the case on this occasion - the menu was huge, too. Ended up having the platter because I had no idea what to choose. My only gripe was the time we waited for the food but understandable as it was a packed Saturday evening. Drinks were good. Had rum and coke to start and happened to ask the barman about a particular rum that you don't see very often (bayou spiced) and he poured me a little to try before buying which was a nice touch. Also had a long island iced tea which can be hit and miss from place to place, but this one was really nice. My wife had a couple of cocktails (can't remember the names) but they were also very nice, too. Will deffo be back.
