Fuimos a cenar con la familia. El menú era genial con una buena variedad de platos que atienden a aquellos que disfrutan de la carne y también para los herbívoros. El servicio fue amable y atento. El ambiente era relajante. Los budines también eran muy buenos. Sin duda volvería cuando llegue a Edimburgo. Vale la pena visitarlo.

Lo más destacado de nuestro viaje! Nos encantó este restaurante, gran ambiente, personal muy encantador y comida sabrosa y rica. Gran selección tanto para los consumidores de carne y verduras. El venado estaba delicioso.

Hermoso pub con personal acogedor y bien informado. La comida era deliciosa, grandes opciones para los veganos en nuestra fiesta. Enorme carta de vinos y fabulosos cócteles!

Muy agradable para un almuerzo ligero. Un lugar bastante concurrido, así que espero que muchos habituales vayan aquí. Muy agradable experiencia. Sin duda recomendaría ir con amigos.

Los tres nos lo pasamos genial en Herringbone! El venado, el filete y el eglefino estaban deliciosos y cocinados perfectamente. Disfrutamos del ambiente casual también. También me sorprendió bastante la extensa carta de vinos. El servicio también fue súper, y todo el personal era muy amable. Era nuestra primera vez, pero sin duda volveremos!

Hemos sido asiduos al Goldenacre Herringbone y ahora al Abbeyhill Herringbone. Lamentablemente, nuestra última visita a este último fue un completo desastre. El restaurante está especializado en hamburguesas y ofrece una hamburguesa gourmet entre las opciones. Esta vez la hamburguesa 'gourmet' era de venado. La hamburguesa era increíblemente salada hasta el punto de envenenarse y sabía horrible. Obviamente alertamos a la camarera que era extremadamente receptivo a nuestro aprieto y ofrecido y alternativo. Por supuesto que para cuando llegó la alternativa las otras personas de nuestro grupo habían terminado su comida por lo que el disfrute de compartir comida con amigos se arruinó totalmente. Nos decepcionó que el chef no fuera dueño del error evidente y la dirección nos ofreció cobrar la mitad del precio de la alternativa en lugar de una indemnización. Sin embargo, 10 / 10 para el personal de espera que era extremadamente cortés y comprensivo de la situación.

Es un ambiente súper fresco y moderno, pero acogedor también. Los camareros son muy amables. Nos trajeron agua helada sin preguntar. Tuvimos algunos postres geniales y buenas cervezas artesanales. Sin duda volvería para una comida completa!

Es difícil de creer que este restaurante solía ser un baño público. Es un entorno absolutamente encantador. El personal es muy amable y el servicio es excelente. La comida es muy buena, especialmente las hamburguesas y se pueden pedir cócteles también. El ambiente es genial. Reservamos antes de venir a través de Google y esto vale la pena hacer

Muy buen restaurante con un gran ambiente. El servicio era de primera calidad: amable y eficiente. La comida era bastante buena, y las porciones eran generosas. Definitivamente le daría a Herringbone una calificación de 5 estrellas excepto por estas dos cosas: mi principal (un plato pequeño) llegó frío y supongo que debería estar caliente. Las mesas pequeñas para dos son demasiado pequeñas. Tres platos, bebidas, velas, menús, cubiertos: muy concurridos e incómodos. En el futuro, solicitaré una mesa diferente. La espiga tiene un gran patio, también, y con el clima inusualmente cálido en Edimburgo, todavía utilizable. Vivo a poca distancia de Herringbone. Ya vuelvo.

Servicio maravilloso comida encantadora, solo pequeñas críticas que el menú podría hacer con ser cambiado digamos 3 veces al año. También la cena tradicional de Navidad en diciembre sería la guinda del pastel 9 de cada 10 encantador ambiente del personal y la cocina. Nuestro local.

Great ambience and service was fantastic. The food and cocktails topped it off. I enjoyed the Sea Bream whilst my husband loved the burger from the specials with chorizo jam. My son loved both his courses and we all enjoyed a chat in a calm lovely environment.

Nice setting to have our first full Scottish breakfast which was excellent, very filling at a easonable price. We loved the teapots!!

Such a disappointment compared to its Goldenacre counterpart. I arrived with my mother with such high expectations, we can in on a quiet afternoon. There were perhaps 2 tables outside with 3 inside and an abundance of staff at the bar and on the floor. We waited 4 minutes to even be seated and a further 10 before some dropped off water, who quickly scarpered off before taking our drink orders. The place was desolately cold, to the extent that my mother (96) had to grab a soft furnishing to drape over herself. Some 15 minutes after our seating someone asked for our drinks with neither an apology nor any sense of how long we had waited. Still, the wine was good, and the food quite delicious. For all its flaws the calamari was perfect. The kitchen therefore deserves my full respect however in terms of service and customer care I simply could not recommend.

We had relatives from Canada visiting, one of whom has several dietary disorders, I am coeliac and my daughter is vegan. The staff were vary careful with checking what we could have and always checked with the chef if unsure. The food was excellent and much better than we have experienced in the centre of town (The coffee was good too!). We would recommend The Herringbone Abbeyhill to anyone wanting good food at a reasonable price. At the end of the meal we asked if the waitress could take a family photo of the 7 of us and that too was done in a warm, friendly manner.

Could not enjoy food for smell of wet dog, the needs of dog seems to be higher priority than paying customers. E Mailed management who did not reply. Poor service.

Quick trip to Edinburgh and didn’t want to be in the very centre of town. The Herringbone was perfect. Service was good and the food was fab. Sat inside and outside, had cocktails and other drinks and they were all good. The highlight tho was Jenna who totally understood my faffy drink order and delivered it perfectly. We will definitely be back.

Well what a shame the first time I went very impressed , however my last visit will most definitely be my last , 1 member of staff needs to get a different job he clearly didn’t want to be there , the food was average on quality and massively over priced for what we had and to top it all they added a 10% service charge which on the receipt wasn’t even discretionary . What’s a service charge anyway just an excuse to reduce the amount the owner has to fork out on wages , nothing to say the staff receive this tax free I already paid the tax on it lol .

Took a punt on reviews and was not disappointed. Early Sunday evening and even at that time had a great atmosphere. Quickly got busy. Quality and portions were top notch. Staff were great and friendly. Definitely visit again. I know it happens automatically but you do get really good emails from them before and after dining

This resturant deserves more visitors! The staff greated me at once, had good recommendations and were very polite. They have one of the best picks of moctails I have ever seen and the food was stunning. Clean, nice and cozy place.

A nice buzzing atmosphere in this cosy nicely set up eatery. Visibly happy staff and customers. Arrival was let down a bit by an error in our booking. Somehow a booking for a standard low table had morphed into a booking for a high table by the door. According to the staff this is a feature of the booking system. It needs fixing! Food was pretty good, great olives and a good mix of different dishes to choose from. Steak slices were nicely cooked. Slightly more interesting than normal wine list, with a good selection of interesting wines in the £30 - £40 bottle range e.g. Romanian Pinot Noir. All in all a good experience despite the mixup.

We came across Herringbone and dropped in for supper. Despite not booking the staff found us a table and made us very welcome. Food was very good as was the wine. Restaurant was busy but the staff were attentive. Great food experience on a very cold Edinburgh evening.

Just had lunch at this lovely restaurant. We were concerned that it might not be warm due to the icy conditions outside but it was really cosy . The waiter offered to move the heater nearer us if we needed it. The waiters were lovely. We had a really nice welcome and the boys were both very professional, courteous, efficient and attentive. 10 out of 10 for both of them. The food was really tasty. Hubby had chowder to begin and I had carrot and fennel soup. Both delicious and good portions. Served with nice bread. Mine was gluten free and very nice. Then we had a braised brisket and chicken burger with ratatouille. The beef was melt in the mouth and the accompanying veg was done how we like them with still a slight crunch. The sweet potato chips with my burger were to die for. First time there and really enjoyed it. Will go back especially in Summer when you can sit outside. It was great to see so many live plant too, both inside and out.

I visited with my partner on the 2nd of January and started our culinary 2024 with Herringbone. We had a fantastic time, the service was so attentive and we were served quickly but without us ever feeling rushed. The food was incredible, great simple flavours working together to create truly complex and delicious food. As an Easter Road resident I'm proud to have Herringbone be so close to my front door and be such a fantastic experience. We will be back!

Such a lovely reception on arrival, friendly and welcoming staff, great table and nice menu choices. Best non alcoholic cocktail I’ve ever tried (soft porn martini), 3 beef briskets went down a treat (no room for pud), and a surprise ice cream with a candle in for my 16 yr old’s birthday! This is how dining should be everywhere, sadly it is not. Well done team Herringbone 👍🏻 we had all 3 of our family’s birthdays here in 2023, so you can tell we love your work!

Limited selection of food, but what they did have was great and good value. Nice light and airy dining area

Lovely venue for a nice chilled catch up over wine and great food. The Fisherswives Sauvignon Blanc is a treat. Great service too.

Fantastic food. Waiter who might have been manager could not have been more helpful. Even offering to make special gluten free meal for my friend. Food delicious. Huge drinks menu. Will certainly be back only slight issue was finding parking.

Great atmosphere, excellent food, and although the service was friendly and competent, it was a bit slow since all we ordered was soup. The bill was also slow in coming. We are North American, so we do realize that restaurants here in the UK do not rush you out like they do on the other side of the.pond.

Lovely place for a nice meal without being overly expensive in the heart of Edinburgh. Everything was lovely, from Cullen skink to steak to mushrooms on toast and venison. Top class and the best chips ever. Wish I knew the secret to their scooped out chips. Absolutely fantastic. Lovely staff too.

Really great dining space with a light open Scandinavian feel. The service is really friendly and they were happy to find us a table with short notice even though we brought our 2 dogs. The menu is traditional Scottish food presented in a fresh way with an emphasis on good quality ingredients, simple cooking but lots and lots of flavour.
