Herd in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

I have never left a review before but felt like I needed to share the love! We spotted this place during our holiday in Newquay. I’ve eaten at some of the ‘best’ burger joints in the UK and beyond, and this easily bested them. We liked it so much I went back two nights running as I didn’t want to only have it the once before we had to leave! I had the Herd and the Classic Cheese, both with an extra patty. Both were fantastic, with great quality meat and toppings, big flavours, and nothing too greasy either. Dicing the gherkin is an inspired move! Fantastic bun, works so well and adds its own edge to the burger. The burgers hold their structure really well too - call me fussy but it just adds that bit of extra quality. Can you tell I enjoyed it!? The fries were brilliant too. Soft and fluffy, perfectly-cooked, hot and fresh. Quite heavily seasoned which worked for me but a bit on the salty side so you might want to ask for less seasoning depending on your tastes. If you like burgers and you are in the area definitely give Herd a visit!

We'd been recommended Herd by a friend prior to coming to Cornwall, and having found ourselves in Newquay we thought we'd give it a go, and so glad we did. My husband had the brisket fries and Herd Burger, which he said were both incredible. I had the vegan version of the Herd burger with their classic fries and it was just as good. Not sure how they got something that wasn't meat to taste that good, but I'm very happy they did! The seasoning on the fries was something special, and with the peppercorn mayo they were even better. Would recommend Herd to anyone heading through Newquay. Also loved the high seating in the window so you could watch the world go by.

Best burgers in Newquay, super friendly staff and ever revolving specials. This time I went for a Ham Burger, which was a standard Herd burger with pulled pork and Red Leicester cheese and skin on fries on the side. It was delicious choice and super tender with the fries seasoned to perfection and when paired with an Atlantic sunset, it doesn't really get much better. Good range of beers if you fancy and all the regular softs are available if not, as is tap water which is appreciated. Special mention to the playlist in here which is always ridiculously good.

Great burgers and fries - lovely IPA draught - good value- shame no spicy option for toppings (no chilli or jalapeño etc) worth a visit and they do online ordering to pick up. Happily return next time on holiday in Newquay

Had a non beef burger as all my fanily had cheeseburgers so instead of being left out because im vegetarian i decided to have the vegetarian version. It was banging! The right balance of pickles and sauces. Would highly recommend. Apparently the classic burger was lovely too!

Can i just say in 30 years of being on the planet those were the best dirty fries ive had in my (insert Samuel L Jacksons favourite word here ) life xx

Probably the best burger ever eaten had the double beef and cheese fries very tasty and very flavoursome was not disappointed. The gravy is out of this world

Hungry, but not knowing what I wanted I stumbled ocer this little beauty. A simple and honest burger bar. Had one of the specials, blue cheese, chopped up bacon mixed I think with caramelised onion and a fantastic patty in what can only be described as a top quality bun. This is one of the best, if not THE best burger I’ve ever had. The sweetness from the onion and bacon, mixed with the subtle blue cheese made this burger an absolute delight. Shame I’m only passing through cos I’d definitely want to return another day. Highly recommend this burger bar.

This was our families second visit and both times we received really good food and fast service. Definitely be going again.

The food here is excellent and cheap the service is very good and fast and the servers and very welcoming and there were lots of places to sit, but the toilet doors (women’s) were hard to close and hard to open.

I had heard great things about Herd, was really excited to visit on my latest trip to Cornwall & I wasn’t disappointed in the slightest. From such a warm welcome from the staff, a brilliantly chilled atmosphere & fantastic food; it was a great visit. I had the Pard & the brisket fries which was so tasty; the fries in particular were stunning. You can tell the ingredients are carefully sourced & every element of the dish was complimentary to each other. The real bonus point was the way we were treated by the staff; everyone was so effortlessly polite, knowledgeable about what was being served & incredibly friendly. We really enjoyed chatting to Harriet who was so cool & welcoming & funny - a credit to the Herd team. Thanks all!

Located in the heart of Newquay, r is a must-visit spot for burger enthusiasts. My recent experience here was nothing short of fantastic. The burgers are the stars of the show, hit all the right notes. But what truly made my visit special was the excellent service from Harriett. Her friendly and laid-back attitude added to the relaxed vibe of the place, making the meal even more enjoyable. perfect for a casual hangout with friends or a chill evening out. If you're in the mood for delicious burgers and a great atmosphere, Herd Burger is the place to be. Huge thanks to Harriett for making our visit memorable!

I had suggested to a friend, both of us meat eaters, to go for lunch. We had another friend who's a veggie come along too at the last minute. We were all very happy! The service was great, the burgers were excellent and the fries were amazing. Great coffee too. Will definitely be back!

Very disappointed. Make sure you check your own order even though you've told them what you want Asked for their Beard burgers ie Chicken. Got 2 x Herd burgers ie beef, made to feel it was our fault for not checking. excepted the beef burgers as we like either. Unfortunately far to much salt used in the burger the chips and the gravy. Sorry really not good.

Tasty burgers, but not over and above the likes of Hubbox, and certainly not as good as Street Burgers or Five Guys. They were quite expensive, but given the images on social media, I thought they would be massive, but they really weren’t that big. The £5.50 for a small tray of cheesy (squirty type cheese) was also very disappointing. Given it has Mc Donald’s type seating/restaurant vibes, I’d have expected the price to be lower to match the type of service/comfort received. No children’s menu either, and so spending the same price for a young child as you would for an adult is a bit of a no go with a family. I wouldn’t rush back to visit unless the price was lowered or you got a bit more for your money.

Me and my other half came here the other day after we got married for our lunch. Firstly the server/beautiful soul that looked after us could not be more accommodating for us, she made our day even more special! The food was absolutely banging. For our little group of 5, we ordered 4 burgers and 3 fries, while our 4 year old was delighted with his ice cream with all the toppings. My burger was by far one of the best I've ever had. Not only will I return because it was so delicious but the service was amazing. Thank you for our delicious lunch, we can not wait to come back and visit again soon! UNREAL FOOD! We were amazed with our food. I had a chicken burger and my partner had the bacon and cheese burger. Both burgers were bursting with flavour and packed full. The chips were cooked beautifully and the secret sauce was something else!! Mouth-watering goodness....
