One up on the standard ‘chippy’ in style, surroundings and menu with prompt, efficient (if rather brusque) service. A beautifully fresh piece of fish and I appreciated the fact that it was cooked in beef dripping. However, I prefer my fish and chips not to be dripping to such an extent that the meal sat in a puddle. I would have preferred waiting a few more minutes for fish and chips to drain off above the fryer - like the standard ‘chippy’.

This place is nice, staff were very friendly and service was quick. We had a late lunch about 3ish so it wasn’t too crowded. My husband said his food was great and fresh and a fairly big portion. I on the other hand I’m vegetarian so really only 2 options of a vegan or halloumi burger. So that’s why I gave it 4 stars as I hoped there would be a veggie fish and chips option like I’ve had elsewhere. But I do like the fact they state it’s cooked in veggie oil. We will come back when we’re in the area again as he food is freshly cooked and have friendly service.

Ok it was a very busy Sunday because of the music festival. We ate about 4pm and the fish seemed to be frozen to me- not flaky and firm like fresh fish would be and the batter was under cooked, it was ok on the outside but undercooked on the inside. The chips - new potatoes were small -- ok cause they were new but I love the small crunchy ones but again like the batter these were soggy and also gritty - like they were not washed enough. Mabe it was a one off cause of the businesses but I can only review on what I experienced at that time. We ate on the tenace overlooking the green and the sea so classed as a take out and so I do not know if eating inside is a different experince.

We visited today and were disappointed. We had a haddock and chips and a cod and chips with beans and mushy peas and a bottle of water and it came to £32. The portions were small and he haddock was more batter than fish and the cod was tasteless, we went to put salt and vinegar on and all of the vinegar bottles were empty, I collected them all up and put them on the counter and asked the man to fill them up and he said he didn’t have time as he was doing a million other things. In all I think it was overpriced very average fish and chips

We came to Hunstanton for a day out and had fish and chips as a family meal. None of us had eaten fish and chips for years being over 50, but we decided to try and we were not disappointed. Lovely fresh hot fish and chips. The only downside were the teenage waiters and waitress as they seemed a bit fed up with customers and didn't have much customer service apart from one waitress who served our food and was very friendly.

Visited yesterday and had a great gluten free meal - lovely crispy batter. Hubby even said his fish and chips were the best he'd had in a long time. And bonus we enjoyed a glass of wine with it too.

My partner (who is coeliac) loves the gluten free fish and chips here. They really take time to ensure that the customers feel confident which means a lot to her. Also means I get to enjoy mine a lot more knowing that she isn't missing out. Always come here when we stay in Norfolk.

The staff were really friendly, great service. Great atmosphere. The haddock was brilliant best my girlfriend has ever had she stated. Great portion size, good value, if we ever visit Hunstanton we will be coming back to Henry's.

Had a lovely meal Monday night . We had Cod bites, Halloumi curry sauce and fries. We were served by a lovely young lady called Poppy very helpful and attentive. Lovely manner credit to Henry’s. The lady who got us drinks I think was called Chelsea ( apologies if I miss heard) ….. again great manner and very professional and friendly. The atmosphere was great amongst all the staff . Would definitely return and thank you all for a pleasurable evening . Definitely my favourite place in Hunstanton would highly recommend.

Tried most of the fish and chips in Hunstanton over the years and tried Henry's restaurant last year and didn't go back because we were not impressed with the service or standard of food, seeing the signs this year saying they had won an award for 3rd place in uk restaurant of 2023 we thought we would try a takeaway, unfortunately there was no improvement, the fish was more fillet not much loin the batter was slightly rubbery and the chips had no flavour,

Friendly staff, great views and top quality food. We all had Cod and Chips at the restaurant and were pleased to see that beef dripping is used in the fryers. Makes everything crispy and healthier that the usual cheap oils used in most establishments. Recommended.

Great family friendly trip to Henry’s while visiting Hunstanton. Extremely clean, lovely decor and of course excellent fish and chips. Our 8 year old raved about the squid, and the adults would recommend the haddock! The staff are so friendly and welcoming as well- would definitely return.

Best fish and chips ever. We are now visiting this restaurant regularly and every time we go both the staff and food are outstanding. I would advise anyone visiting Hunstanton give Henry’s a visit ! You will not regret it.

I had Gluten Free cod and chips today at Henry’s it was amazing the fish was so white and the batter was to die for I really have problems getting gluten free when on the move so would highly recommended to any coeliacs the staff extremely helpful too.

Made a trip to Hunstanton just for fish and chips on Friday. My children and I stayed with my parents in January and we were sad to see Henry’s closed. We went to fishers whilst they were closed and it doesn’t even come close the the quality of Henry’s. The food was superb and fresh, the hot drinks are lovely too. The lady serving was well mannered and worked efficiently to serve the queue.

Bought fish and chips for the family for lunch. General feedback was that the food was okay but not great. My other half noticed that the bottle of coke I bought with my meal was out of date by about 2 weeks. Not a big deal I suppose but I took it back to exchange it anyway. They did exchange it but not without a little tone and attitude suggesting I was being petty. - "It's only a few days out of date. Here's one with an April date. Is that good enough for you?" I guess it's not a big deal and probably just an accident due to poor stock management. What was disappointing was the attitude I received in return for pointing it out. Had they just apologised and said thanks for letting us know I wouldn't have given it a second thought but as they preferred to try and belittle me I think we'll be going elsewhere for fish and chips in the future.
