Went in alone for lunch. The young gentleman and young lady behind the counter were polite and efficient. I ordered a soup of the day and a separate toasted cheese and ham sandwich to be provided when my soup was finished. I paid £15 in total for both items. The soup arrived with only a small amount of bread which was erratically buttered and dry in many places. Nevertheless it was passable. The toasted sandwich came later as promised and was delivered on to the table by a lady who was obviously the owner. The plate was plonked down in front of me without a friendly word or acknowledgment. The lady was obviously distracted by some teenagers who were consuming their own food and But a hello would have been nice. Nobody asked me how my food was. If they had, I would have told them the portion was small sized, the toast was barely warm and the melted cheese was positively cold. This despite the fact I had specifically ordered it to arrive after the soup to prevent this happening. Pricey and poor quality. Tip - make a note of your paying customers and acknowledge they exist. You get a two because the two youngsters behind the counter set an example you should have followed.

Lovely light cafe, elegantly adapted from the old bank we knew. Good (i.e strong enough!) coffee and snacks, pleasant service. Bookshop, with comfy seats while browsing was a nice plus - excellent range of History especially, and books in good condition. Hope Henry's does well - it's a good addition to Upton, where we were sad to see so many empty shops.

What a lovely place ! Friendly staff, the cutest little dog in the corner, warm and welcoming. We were only here for two nights and had eaten elsewhere as didn't realise it was a cafe but next time it's first on the list. The books called to me and it's a great place for browsing with THE best reading chair in the upper floor ! Whilst bright, clean and friendly it also had that timeless feel and peacefulness. Had I been alone, I would have stayed for the day sitting in that chair, drinking their tea and eating the delicious looking food. Loved it !

First time visit. Had walked past initially, there were tables outside with lots of people sat there, and I assumed from a distance it was a pub. But when we walked back past again, I noticed it was a coffee/book shop...my two favourite things! Was nice and cosy inside, dog friendly, servers were attentive bringing over a specials menu. The sausage roll and sausage bap was lovely. Well priced.

10 out of 10. Whilst far from a unique concept, this is a rare example of a successful combined coffee and bookshop - one that actually works. Smart decor, attentive staff, very tasty coffee and cakes. The books were (for once) neatly displayed by category, excellent condition and reasonably priced. It was also open on Sunday. What's not to like?

Popped in for a coffee. Asked for a small mocha and a small cappuccino with no chocolate on top. Complete mix up with the order and the coffee was awful, so bland and no more than a cup of milk. The cappuccino came with chocolate on and then we got charged 20p extra for a sprinkling of chocolate on the mocha and got charged for a large cappuccino despite only ordering and being served a small. When we questioned it we just got a host of excuses about price rises despite the menu not mentioning about a charge for chocolate on top! No acknowledgement of the errors made and they would not change the bill. Definitely won’t go back.

Stopped for a quick spot of lunch after a long drive. We opted for two soups (butternut squash that day) and a pot of tea. The soup was delicious and you were served extra hot water for the tea. A nice touch. The only reason I didn’t score 5 stars was due to when you order your food the waitress then just shouts the order through to the kitchen from where she is standing. We found this quite comical in the end but if the orders were just passed to the chef would’ve made for a better experience!

This is like visiting Fawlty Towers- they couldn’t cope with demand when we visited even though there were only about 15 people in the cafe with 2 servicing staff and 2 in the kitchen. The owners dogs tried to bite a little girl causing her to get extremely upset and kept growling at other customers - so unhygienic to have dogs by the kitchen and why are they in the cafe when they clearly don’t like people right next to the toilet? Leave them at home! This is like going in to someone’s front room with the outdoor chairs and the Knic knacks and the service leaves an awful lot to be desired it is so awkward and not friendly at all - very much like we should be grateful to be served. On the plus side the food was alright but given the naff service it didn’t justify the price. This cafe is a lovely fun place. It is full of character and the ambience is relaxing and cheerful. We were on our way to visit friends when we had a call to say the chef was behind in the kitchen and could we turn up an hour later than planned. That meant we were in Upton with an hour to kill. We saw Henry's and came in to see if the hour that needed killing could be spent here. It could. This is an individual, quirky cafe. My friend ate a cake and had a coffee. I had a glass of wine. There are old books to peruse and maybe purchase and the atmosphere makes you want to linger.Someone queried whether the place was child friendly enough. I suppose it depends on the child. Perhaps it is more geared towards adults. However, we spent a lovely time here and would drop in again for coffee.

Rude staff! Despite advertising books and antiques outside, they clearly don't want you to actually buy anything. This is partly because of the bad layout with all the books behind the coffee tables but mainly because of the incredibly rude elderly female member of staff who seems to think that browsing the books and antiques for 15 minutes does not make you a customer. This staff member was insulting and caused embarrassment towards myself and my partner. We were thinking of stayingfor lunch and coffee but decided to take our business elsewhere. This café is interesting and quirky. Easy access for elderly mother in law. Warm welcome from proprietor. My husband had omelette, his mother had panini and I had soup. Everything was superb. You could not fault anything, that's a rare thing!

Nice enough hot drinks and biscuits and very reasonably priced. A joy to find somewhere dog friendly (ground floor only) but the resident snappy yappy dog tied in it's basket in the corner was less than welcoming, and for this reason, I would not return and certainly would not recommend.

Great coffee, yummy biscuits, lovely atmosphere, free wifi, newspapers and bookshop too. What else could you wish for. Do visit - it's worth it.

The whole team went above and beyond to deliver a great night for my 50th birthday bash. The dedication and attention to detail was 10/10 throughout the whole night. The food was exceptional and to execute 3 courses for 37 guests was just amazing. Special thanks to the whole team – bar staff & chefs and Nibs & Laura to make it a memorable night!

Spot on service and food! We visited here on a Wednesday evening, the restaurant was busy and despite this, we had excellent service. The food was brilliant, I had the Dragon Pie and it was quite honestly the best pie I have eaten in a long time.

Steak sandwich is by far the best in Worcester! Steak cooked to perfection, amazing fries and salad and the gravy is to die for!

Excellent place for a lovely bacon sandwich and a cup of tea at a very reasonable price. Lovely staff and best setting in Upton...10/10
