Been coming here for years. The place has suddenly become shoddy... Dirty floor (all round), unwiped tables, dry and tasteless cheese scone, insipid hot chocolate. Lacklustre furniture and cabinets. Bye-bye Henry's.

Had breakfast at Henrys which is in Stewart’s Park. I had a bacon and egg bun and a flat white coffee, both of which were excellent. My wife had a scone and flat white. Well worth a visit.

My daughter is a student at askham Bryan college within Stewart's park ground's and the students go to Henry's for lunch. She ordered ham and cheese toastie with chips for her lunch, when she got her food the ham and cheese toastie was hot and like it was meant to be but the chips were undercooked, cold and disgusting.

Visit here, quite often after a Parkrun on a Saturday morning. The positives: A very nice setting, a good selection of food and refreshments and plenty of seating indoor and out. The negatives which unfortunately outweighs the good points. The coffee is awful most of the time and very inconsistent. At times it’s served scalding hot which burnt my partners tongue. Can often be queues at busy times. Food very average at best.

Went there in the morning 13th March 23 we ordered cheese burgers and chips , the cheese burgers were absolutely horrible they had being left on a hot plate because they were hard and tasteless , to be honest we should of complained but we were in a hurry with a long journey ahead , but I advise everyone to steer clear it wasn't cheap and was rubbish.

I'm struggling to find words for how incredibly bland and dismal the coffee is here. Imagine dishwater, after you've rinsed out an empty jar of instant coffee. That's what this coffee was like; coffee-rinsed dishwater, with too much milk added. I at least like to decide how much milk I add to my dishwater. On the plus side, it's a nice setting with clean facilities and friendly staff, so a point for that.

We visit the park every Sunday with friends, we always end up here. The coffee is good, the food is quick and simple (touch pricey). The staff are absolutely fantastic, so friendly and always up for a quick chat when its quiet. There is plenty of seating out the front, the back and inside. They have no issues with us pushing some tables together so we can all chat.

We visited here around dinnertime it was not too busy as the college students were off we ordered egg and beans on toast and just a teacake for me we were given a number to display on the table the meals will not come with any butter so we asked for it at the till when we paid if you forget just go back and they'll give you some or the guy bringing the food would maybe get it if you asked him nicely he was nice enough to take my empty tray from me as I was returning it now he didn't have to do that how kind

Absolutely disgusting! £6 for two pieces of burnt bacon in two slices of dry, thin bread and a cuppa. No margarine or butter on the bread. Two burnt, rock hard pieces of bacon, obviously just left in a hot lock waiting to be sold. I mean any bacon sarnie….needs at least three bacon! I’ll never return again. I put a photo of this sandwich on social media and it seems it’s always bad food and it’s only main customers are students who have no where else to go! Just found out there’s a lovely little cafe inside the museum so I’ll go there next time.

Within the Henry Bolckow open area in Stewart's Park is this cafe where you can eat in and out. I feel this could become a lovely cafe but it's very basic. Had some chips which were dried up. Much prefer cafe in the museam.

I should've just stayed at home, thrown my money into a fire and jumped in with it. Getting my face cracked open with a brick would've been a better option than going here. How would you make tea? If you said with UHT milk and a bit of wood then you mite like the tea here. If you said with proper milk and a teaspoon then go somewhere else. Do you like chips? What about frozen chips? Yeah, they're not as good as homemade chips but they're perfectly acceptable. What isn't acceptable it a total and complete lack of any salt or pepper, along with have to pay extra for sauce. What a little something to help deal with the blandness of just chips? "Screw you. Give is cash." They seem to say. Seriously, go somewhere else. In fact just bring something from home. Sandwiches, a bottle of water, some fruit. ANYTHING WOULD BE BETTER TJAN THIS PLACE!

Convenient for a sandwich/pastry and tea/coffee. The cafe has a one way system inside, food is ordered and paid for and delivered to tables outside so self distancing is easy.

Best thing about this cafe is seats outside. Other than that it doesn't have much to offer. Coffee wasn't very nice quality. Cook's cafe where the museum is, is much nicer.

Popped in here when walking max in the park. Walked in to a lovely little place, friendly staff, whom clearly knew the gentleman being served before me. Coffee was lovely too. Only reason for not giving 5 stars was can’t comment on food, but will get some next time. They were giving out free samples of cake, but I missed out.

Found this great cafe in the old Victorian buildings that are part of the college. This is a no frills cafe with good honest food and prices to match. There is a large menu ranging from chips, egg, sausage and bacon to a toasted tea cake. There was gluten bread also. A seating area is provided outside and you can get take away coffee too.I had a sausage and egg (2 eggs mind) bun for £3. No charge for sauces etc. A big cup of tea for £1.50 and extra hot water.Staff were great; welcoming, friendly and nothing was to much trouble. Now we have found this great little place we will defo return because there are other things on the menu we want to try.

I go to askham Bryan college. The first day I went to Henry’s they said the chips were vegetarian, cooked with vegetable oil separated for meat. Just found out they cook them with the same oil in the same bit as the chicken and fish. I am absolutely disgusted that they have lied considering most askham Bryan students are vegetarian and have been lied to. Also, considering people have allergies to fish, etc. A month ago my vegetarian friend asked for a toastie with just cheese and was given a toastie with tuna. Considering this is the only place we students can eat I am so angry. I have spent ridiculous amounts of money paying for my meals every lunch time. The pay for the chips are 1.70 for uncooked chips. As I am a student I have a discount. It went from 1.42 to 1.50. We politely ask for them to be cooked more as they come white and raw normally. The queue is too slow even when we have pre ordered. Overall not happy at all, and after hearing they have lied about chips being vegetarian. I will be further reporting them as this isn’t allowed.

Took grandchildren to Henry’s for lunch before visiting Captain Cook Museum. Two hungry kids not impressed by no hot food due to “unforeseen circumstances” (actually could easily be foreseen as their only chef was on holiday!!). Mediocre sandwiches and small portions of quiche.Had we known there was a cafe in the Museum we would have walked out.

I went in today after the Farmers Market. The place was dirty and there were pots everywhere. We decided to have some thing to eat as we thought it may have just been because they were busy. When walking round we realisrd there is now a college on site? and the cafe had a fair amount of college kids inside and out. I went in first to order I waited at the till the lady didnt even smile or say hello and with an attitude said 1.20, I told her im ordering food aswell? and she just stared blankly at me! I work in customer service myself and found her really rude.. Food was nice and the blonde lady who said she had 5 cats who worked their was lovely shame about the other one

Not a good experience, very noisy mainly because of the chairs scrapping on the stone floor. Used to visit Nana Tom's cafe and that was lovely - can't wait for it to re-open. A few points below that could help for a better experience :-

Came here a few weekends ago at the start of spring for a light lunch after a walk around the park. Sat outside on the benches. Food was poor - bacon was tough as old boots and when asking the waitress for some ketchup we were simply told 'it's inside'. Turned out it was behind the tills after much looking - very unhelpful and poor service! Queues were large and system wasn't great - should of been serving people and getting them seated, instead others were waiting in a long queue for one person to serve and make several hot drinks before the next person was served. I won't return as was really understaffed for the amount of customers and even the staff that were available were unhelpful.

Good food in a nice setting, clean and welcoming. They do a decent range of food and drinks at a reasonable price. When the weather is fine you can sit outside and admire the Victoria architecture of the stable buildings and workshops, it's part of the park that has remained hidden from the public until recent times, and such a shame to keep it away from the public for so long.Toilets were immaculate

An extremely pleasant council run cafe situated in the original workshop buildings of the Marton Hall Estate in Stewarts Park, Middlesbrough. Open daily, the cafe is clean, modern and has excellent surroundings/facilities. My wife, daughter, grandson and I popped in one afternoon and found the place to have very reasonable prices, friendly staff and an excellent range of drinks and food – including a full breakfast/lunch menu and a variety of home-made cakes and assorted baked items. Highly recommended.

Me and my friend visited the Dickens Inn pub for lunch. We are students at Teeside University and regularly visited the Dickens. We were greeted at the bar by a man called Mario that seemed to have a nice attitude and welcoming but that very quickly turned. We ordered our food at 12:20. I ordered a ham and cheese panini and my friend ordered a chicken wrap. As we are student we only get 1 hour dinner break but usually we have more than enough time to eat. We waited patiently till 12:45 I then went to the bar and asked where the food was. The staff member Mario then rushed off and came out and shouted from a far distance “2 secs!” I then went back outside to my friend. It then got to 12:55 and we decided there wasn’t going to be enough time to eat and get to my next lecture which was at 1300pm. We then went to the bar and requested a refund as food shouldn’t take this long as it is a pub on campus I would’ve hoped food would be delivered in a more timely manner. The staff member (Mario) shouted from a distance again shouting “Oi, girls” we looked round in shock we had just been called out so rudely as he had the food in his hands but by this time it was too late, we explained to him we didn’t have time to eat it, he then turned around and walked back into the kitchen with our food. Mario then started slamming objects down shouting to his colleague that we wanted a refund in anger which made me and my friend quite frightened and uncomfortable when he did this. He then started waving his arms in the air making us feel scared. His colleague then came round the bar and gave me and my friend a refund in cash however I paid on card but didn’t get given the option for a refund via card. A scary and belittling experience for two young students.

Rude manager. Called to check for milkshakes and told us to come over. After we came over she said the machine just broke and was rude on top of all. Absolutely pathetic. She needs coaching on how to be a manager no customer experience what so ever.
