Henry's Bar in Exeter

Lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. Traditional pub layout. We bought two pints and they gave us a token for a free one. Didn't expect it but it was greatly appreciated. Worth your visit

As a student this is the go to spot! 3 pints for £12 and they give you coins for each pint. A bottle of wine is £12 which is on the pricier side but the staff are lovely and the outside area is always a good vibe. Wish they had a good menu but you can order from the korean spot next door.

Absolutely love this place. I met friends and family for my birthday night here and the staff couldn't do enough for us. There were about 30 of us and everyone loved Henry's bar. The beer garden, bar and karaoke were just brilliant. The staff are the best. Thank you for a great night.

Amazing little pub just outside of heavitree! Gets a little wild on a Saturday but I have yet to experience a bad night there.

Aggressive staff and poor atmosphere. Behaviour is horrible.

Do not recommend! I had an awful experience, the staff are drunks who can not control their tempers and will randomly attack customers for minor issues, the few times I have gone to this pub the owner and staff have been extremely inebriated and aggressive. They also will give drinks away for free without checking IDs, this place needs to be shut down before anybody gets hurt.

My new local since moving, cheap drinks! Best deals in town on the 3 for 12! Staff are always great, friendly and fast to serve. Lovely locals and people of all sorts! Can get very busy with the students when they’re there but you’ll still get served faster than most pubs with half the punters. Great pub, glad I’m so close

I used to like this place until it became the go-to for university students. There's too much of a hipster vibe and the behaviour of some of these students are questionable so best to avoid on the weekends. That being said, they have great service and nice drinks.

A traditional English Pub. Great mix of locals and students. Lively at times and great people behind the bar (Kat you're a superstar). Owned by a father/son team that, together with the others behind the bar, make it a good place to have a drink, catch up with friends, make new ones, and play traditional pub games ....

Nice old-school pub, nothing too flashy, just a classic British pub with decent prices. A good mix of locals and students, but does occasionally get a bit overrun with students, but that keeps the pub alive and the prices sensible.

Nice traditional style pub with a good mix of locals and uni students. Drinks are relatively expensive if bought individually but they offer a multi-buy deal where you can buy three drinks for a reasonable discount. If you don't want all three at once they will give you a token you can redeem another time. The central bar with service on both sides is a nice feature that isn't seen in pubs much any more and adds a lot to the charm.

Great atmosphere in this place, super friendly and easy to get served! Has a beer garden so can sit outside.. enjoyable place to have a pint 🍻 and chat with friends..

One of the few decent, quality pubs in Exeter left. Large bottled beers, which only seem to be served in this pub and nowhere else, absolute quality (but potent!) Great staff too.

Nice pub! The drinks are extremely well priced which is very refreshing for Exeter. The atmosphere is friendly but it's definitely a bit of an old man's pub in my opinion, despite the amount of students that attend.

It is so good to see the bar reopen after the pandemic, Great place, brilliant staff, wonderful well maintained garden to seat out of the wind and relax. A great and lovely place to relax with a drink, food and have a chat.

Visited today, had a great roast dinner, really delicious and perfectly cooked, generous portions, fresh vegetables, crispy roast potatoes. Also catered for vegetarians and allows dogs :) Would definitely revisit if back in the area.

Here every Thursday for the quiz which is well run, always challenging and fun. Good beers and the pizzas (which we win sometimes as a quiz prize) are great value. Always a nice friendly crowd and friendly staff.

Friendly place with good staff. Bar on the expensive side but has a good selection. Unfortunately doesnt show sport anymore and doesnt have the beer and cider festival on Mondays either, so lost some of its charm as a local. Seems to be catering more to the large student population in the area now.

Although there have been management changes this bar remains a friendly and an enjoyable place to visit. Great pizzas available to order as well! Still a good mix of students/locals/regulars. More of an emphasis on sports fixtures than there used to be - would be nice to have a corner of the pub to use for non sports fans. I really do recommend you visit Henry's for a pint or more if you have not been there before.

A traditional local that has recently improved by serving pizzas. Good real ales and an entertaining quiz on Thursdays.

It's the best pub in the world. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, good beer and many screens to watch sport. I invited many friends to watch football there, and nobody was disapointed.
