Staff are always stupendous! The restaurant is great, with a cosy ambience and a tasty menu. The waiting staff are always friendly and helpful - shout out to Dylan, who served the hottest, tastiest breakfast in a while. Special vote of gratitude to Leah, Saskia, Anne and Jess for the warmest of welcomes each and every stay! Love Cardiff East!

Rooms are the most tried I've seen in a Premier Inn. Needs fresh paint and the veneer of the wood is peeling in places. Needs a refurb. Clean and functional as you'd expect, and a comfy bed. Friendly staff.

Convenient but basic Toilet seat was broken

Not long arrived and already regretting it. Walked in to my room and was immediately disappointed. The bed mattress is awful, thin and squeaking. Two very flat pillows. The room is tiny and feels like a hostel at best, with a tiny shower room, tired decor (dirty to some extent) and a general smell. Also the doors are so thin I can hear every word when someone walks past talking. Don’t expect to be getting much sleep as so noisy. Will never come back and can now see from reviews they have had the feedback before and ignored it. Now not surprised when I pulled up the car park is empty, obviously those that know, know. Avoid!!

A nice quiet out of city location.

Great place to stay, petrol station over the road if needed, near, the Industrial Estate, great food in the pub, nice and a quiet place. Can't ask for more.

Quite location plenty parking. Doesn't look like the norm type off Premier. But at least your know premier inns have decent bed. Vending machine on site for snacks. Food places outside pub about 2 miles away by car . But 106 quid I've stayed worse places for more money.

Not what I was expecting from a premier inn. Mattress not as comfy as it should be. Lots of dust growing in the room tbh. The bathroom almost made me sick as it looked like the door hadn’t been opened in days, dirt on the wall. Desk in the room was peeling off. If it wasn’t so late and I hadn’t had a 4 hour drive I would have checked out

Not brilliant. Bar shut at 10 on Friday night and 9:30 on Saturday. Some lights had no bulbs in the room and the heating was an electric radiator plugged into a wall socket. I guess what I am saying is it was very dissapointing. Wouldn't stay at this one again. Breakfast had little choice on yoghurts, "fresh fruit salad" looked dry and unappetising. No muffins or pancakes. I could go on.

Rooms are ok, breakfast service disappointing -they seemed to be short staffed.

Stayed here recently on a business trip. They went above and beyond to accommodate me for an extra night. Friendly staff and I had a great nights sleep.

Forest Haven is a serene spot for picnics and relaxation. The towering trees provide ample shade, and the babbling brook adds to the tranquility. It's an ideal place to escape the city and enjoy nature's beauty.

Probably the lowest quality of any Premier Inn that I have stayed at. The room looked tired with a smashed up bedside cabinet. The bathroom looked OK but closer inspection revealed the shower door to be hanging off and plenty of dirt and deposits around the shower. I was told other rooms were better though. The adjacent beefeater shuts the bar early so the presence of a large TV in the room is a plus. I will definitely check other options before returning.

Service and politeness of the receptionist was great. The rooms here let it down a little, they are small and a little dated.

Helpful receptionist who checked us in early! Although the room is a bit small, it's clean and functional. The bed & sheets are comfortable and the Beefeater across the street has limited but decent vegan & veggie options. Cons: though it advertises free wifi it's practically nonexistent. We were on our data the entire time. The walls are also paper thin. We could hear *everything* next door. The location worked for us but it's good to keep in mind that: we walked and took the #30 bus into the city (fyi it was a bit confusing where to get the bus back from the city).

Haven't stayed here myself, as I live locally, but my partner and I have gone to the beefeater for breakfast and it's always been excellent.

As premier inn goes this wasn't great, one of the older ones , small rooms and the bathroom wasn't particularly clean the attached beefeater on the other hand served a really nice dinner rump steak and prawns . The breakfast however looked like it had been thrown at the plate....

Lovely helpful staff , especially Linda and Tina ! Unfortunately on the second day of our stay there was a problem with breakfast which meant we couldn't eat in the adjoining restaurant . We were refunded straight away and pointed in the right direction for breakfast . Room lovely and comfy our second stay here .for us .

Friendly and helpful staff clean rooms

It's another Purple Travelodge masquerading as a Premier Inn if you ask me. the Bedroom is no bigger than my own back home, but the wi-fi is non existent. The bathroom has No Bath and a weird corner toilet, as all the space is taken up with the shower. It's an ensuite with nowhere to put anything. The walls are paper-thin too. Those are the bad points. Good points are it's clean, feels new not shabby, the bed and linen are top quality and the location is fairly quiet and easy to get to, maybe not so easy to find in the dark as it's Superdark round there as your technically in Newport countryside. Food is provided by a Beefeater pub that it's built behind, and the. Pub faces the road, not the Premier inn. Price wise it's £51 per night. My preferred Premier Inn is an extra £12 per night, so it's a cheap stay but not suitable for a whole week. This is a back up Premier inn for when the others are fully booked.

Stayed overnight Tues Dec 21nd after travelling for a wedding the next day. We needed a bit of a favour the next morning and the two ladies at reception couldn't have been more helpful. Excellent customer service.

Rooms are a bit smaller than usual, the only gripe I had was that there was only a shower room and no bath, otherwise the usual Premier Inn high standard.

Room was clean, lady who greeted us was very nice, we arrived late and left early, so never tried the restaurant

It's comfortable nice staff no air conditioning

By far the worst Premiere Inn that I have ever stayed in. The room was small, the double-glazing was inadequate allowing road noise in, the room was not clean. The hair drier was filthy and when getting the spare pillows from the shelf dust fell down. It could not have been 'Covid-secure' because it wasn't clean at a basic level. The bed creaked at any small movement. No lift to the first floor. I will never stay at this Premiere Inn again.

Quiet rooms And convenient for Newport and cardiff

Perfect for a budget stay. Clean and tidy. Reception was covid safe.

Disgusting hotel. Dirty, Noisy and stank of cigarettes. We Stay in Premier inns monthly and this one was by far the worst. No reception staff available. Complained online as per the terms and conditions on their good night guarantee which was not met only to be informed that we should have informed the staff (that was not available?) Highly recommended staying somewhere else.

Beautiful little place. Only issue was that the TV struggled to pick up any channels. But other than that, lovely friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Great experience.

Hotel and staff ok but the Beefeater used for breakfast and evening meal was awful, rude covid mad breakfast staff, food for breakfast and evening was very bad quality, if they had it, what sort of place runs out of beans 2 days running, and a steak house that runs out of steak. I will not be returning here.

Small rooms, tiny bathroom, with only a shower, no space for toiletries. Room was too hot, duvet too thick no Airton. I Think Lenny needs to stay here to get the advert accurate.

Great customer service on reception rooms were on the small side.If you are a medium to large person then the shower is on the small side.Could do with a fleshing up in my opinion.

Absoluately fantastic from start to finish. Couldnt wish for a better stay. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the best Premier inn we have stayed in. Carmel Stacey and Matt in the Beefeater restaurant made our Saturday night - fantastic meal and brilliant service - amazing Christmas Pudding ! Was even given a little christmas pud and christmas card - what brilliant staff you have !! Went to Cardif for Christmas Shopping and will return in the spring for a stopover - Gold star to all staff !

At reception the member of staff was very indifferent. The hotel is rather sad looking and dated. My room was very small. The worst premier Inn that I have stayed in.

Very good nights sleep as always for a Premier Inn and the best breakfast I've tasted in a long time at any hotel. Breakfast is a short walk across the car park to the Beefeater so if it's raining dont forget your umbrella because it's long enough to get soaked, would.have been useful to know this on arrival Premier inn Cardiff

Very very small rooms and bathrooms, toilet so close to shower had to place foot in the shower. Service was ok but not brilliant! ok for a solo traveler for one night but not much else and very lacking compared to many other premier Inn

Great welcome from Helen on front desk. We stayed just 1 night for a shopping trip. Caught the bus from the other side of the road, make sure you have change! Bus back drops you on the same side as the Inn 20 yards away. £2 each way. Bed was a little firm for us, also the shower extractor fan was as good as chocolate teapot. Would stay here again.

Stayed in all the Premier Inn's in the local area, this is the poorest by far. Smaller rooms on average, which are much noisier, I can hear people having conversations through the paper thin adjoining door. Very annoying, won't be staying here again. No issues with the staff or anything like that though, maybe this is just a bad room.

Clean and friendly hotel. Great service in restaurant. Breakfast cooked to order. Takes a little longer but tends to be of the highest standard compared other Premier Inn hotels!

My partner and I had an opportunity to try the unique Gareth Daw Collection 10 course testing menu. The whole experience started with homemade pineapple and raspberry ciders, followed by berbere bread with creamy lemon butter. Next, one of our favourites - crocodile (yes, crocodile!) with yummy bacon maple jam perfectly complementing the exotic protein. Just when we thought this could not get any better here comes the Head Chef carrying the plates filled with wild mushrooms sprinkled with popping candy which started popping once the dish was poured over with rich earl grey mushroom sauce - wow, that was something new! After this we got presented with one of the menu's stand-out dish - the famous pork belly soaking in coconut sauce and topped with passion fruit caviar! That's definitely one of must-try when visiting the restaurant! Dish no 6, cod in tomato and sea herbs. My partner is not a big fan of sea food but Chef Gareth's fish was clearly of very high quality and addition of sea herbs brought it to a whole new level. Next comes lamb breast with oxtail. Personally, I was not sure what to expect as lamb is not my favourite one nor is oxtail BUT...need to admit that it was expertly prepared dish, packed with massive range of powerful flavours, beautiful tender meat, simply perfect. Now moving onto dessert part of the menu, first we were served with delicious banana sorbet sprinkled with dried raspberries. After that we had a three layered chocolate cake with coffee and orange flavours. Stunning presentation of both dessert with fresh fruits and lovely garnish flowers. Last dish of our testing experience was petit four, cute pink macaroons and amazing sweet potato brownies. We absolutely loved the whole testing menu and hope we could try one again soon. The food was fresh and high quality. We appreciated the beautiful presentation and variety of flavours. The waiting staff was also second to none, very friendly and attentive. We highly recommend the place. It is truly a hidden gem!

The accommodation was exactly as expected from a Premier Inn. However the Horse and Jockey public house adjoining the hotel left rather a lot to be desired. I ordered a steak and chips for dinner. What I got was a steak that was barely warm, 9 chips that were virtually cold, half a fried tomato which was covered in oil and a side salad that was almost nonexistent. Not the kind of meal I expect from a Whitbread Pub and a price close to twenty pounds. Twenty pounds worth of Mc Donald's would have been more filling and enjoyable to eat.

Very clean and welcoming stay. Beefeater option for dinner and breakfast which was one of the better ones I have used. I only wish that there would be a flannel on offer with the towels as I forgot mine this time otherwise fantastic little hotel.

I attended the taster evening last night and thoroughly enjoyed, myself and my husband had the standard menu which was both beautifully presented and full of flavour. My daughter had the vegan taster menu and was truly blown away by the high standard of ingredients used to make such flavoursome food. The chef here has such great imagination and flavour combinations. Highly recommend , we will be back .

The Game of Thrones tasting menu was spectacular. Lovely staff and unbelievable food. Great atmosphere and venue. The Head Chef, Gareth Daw, came and introduced himself afterwards, which was a nice touch. Would highly recommend this place to anybody that likes high quality food! Looking forward to the Greatest Showman tasting menu!

If you haven’t tried this restaurant already you are missing out. I’m fortunate to have eaten in some high end restaurants but this is far above most of them. The food itself is out of this world and Gareth the head chef is really proud of his food which is clearly visible once you taste it. I even tried food I didn’t know existed. It’s fairly priced for what you get. You are getting high quality food. Definitely the best food in Cardiff. We will now be regular visitors and look forward to trying more lovely dishes. Thank you for a wonderful meal and see you again soon.

Quiet just of M4, clean, and responsive team

Me and my girlfriend went down to Cardiff last weekend for the game of thrones event at the sir Henry Webb's restaurant and was absolutely loved it!! The staff were friendly and welcoming and had a extensive knowledge of the amazing wine they had on offer we had the p15 that went amazing well with the BBQ fish on the menu, The food was completely to die for perfect portion sizes and tastes that are still amazing me a week on! I just want to say thank you to the head chef Gareth daw and his team for such a wonderful evening
