I wish to thank Tracey and her wonderful Team for the best afternoon tea I have ever had. We booked at short notice and on our arrival our table was set with a pretty tablecloth and lovely china. The food was very fresh, beautifully presented and plenty of it. The Staff were very attentive and friendly and even offered us doggy-bags for the leftovers. Well done !

As a couple we visited the cafe for a mid afternoon sandwich. Presenting ourselves at the counter in what was a very quiet cafe, we asked the lady at the till for a sandwich to go with our hot drinks only to be told by the assistant that they don’t serve sandwiches after 3pm. A fair comment, however it was 2.50pm at that time by our phones and watches in fact the cafe clock above the till was showing only 2.46pm. Having pointed this out to the assistant she said that she would ask the kitchen if they were prepared to make a sandwich. Seconds later the assistant said that the kitchen said that would not make a sandwich without any explanation. We naturally assumed that the staff couldn’t be bothered even though the cafe was till open for over another hour. The coffee was good, the fairly ambivalent customer service not so much. At least there are other cafes on site.

The woman on the till is extremely rude. I realise she has to tell people to put their tray in a different place many times a day but it is the manner in which she speaks to people is hostile. She works in hospitality. If she doesn't like talking to people she should find another job

A Friday lunchtime (fish & chip special day) was perhaps not the ideal time to visit but there always seem to be tables available despite being pretty busy. Staff work extremely hard to do the food service and keeping tables cleared. Opted for a coffee, sausage roll (very tasty) and cakes instead of a cooked meal, although we arrived at midday as hot meals were being served.

Having visited Hemswell Antiques for a browse of the Antiques which I have done a few times, I went in for a coffee and some cake (a bit of a treat) into the coffee shop in building one. I must say there was plenty to choose from I have a bit of a sweet tooth so I could of eaten more. The service was great from the staff and I was greeted with a smile and I had no trouble getting a table. It nice to see that the coffee shop decor was done by one of the dealers and items are available to buy. However I have been looking on trip advisor to see if someone was going to complain as I overheard another customer being very rude to what I heard was the coffee shop manager. I believe it was regarding gluten free. The manager was very polite and was trying to speak to the lady but I don't think anything she said she would of been happy with and personally I thought the lady was down right rude Sandra R . I am very happy with the service and would definitely return. Keep making those gorgeous cakes.

I had a poor experience when I challenged the manager here about the "gluten free" food they provided me. I reacted badly after my meal there. I tried to bring it to the attention of the manager to prevent anyone else having the same issues. She was only interested in denying there was a problem, not in tracking down the source or offering an apology

Visited this venue twice recently with friends after spending many hours browsing around the Antiques Centres. Looking forward to refreshments we were not disappointed …wide fresh variety of choice both savoury & sweet courses & yummy cakes to choose from. Very reasonably priced too! We all enjoyed the lovely, laid-back atmosphere & appreciated the friendly, helpful staff who go out of their way to help. Highly recommend this as a ‘pit-stop’ between browsing the Antiques & Garden Centre. We will return soon…thank you everyone concerned!

Stopped for a snack prior to shopping at Hemswell. Sandwiches sounded tempting, choice of thick brown or white bread and deep filled. At just over £5 what we actually got was not deep filled, thick bread. The bread appeared to be the sort of brown sliced ‘value’ loaf from a budget supermarket, averagely filled. Accompanied by a mean portion of coleslaw and salad devoid of any type of dressing. Next time I won’t buy anything that I can’t actually see at the counter. Disappointing.

Considering how this café used to be run it's such a disappointment now. Poor quality food, obviously pre-prepared and warmed up - not good. Their sliced ham many years ago and choice of good quality cuisine was worth our journey there but that is many eons ago. Times have changed but not for the better. Antique centre itself still excellent. Also, toilets were in poor condition and due a makeover. Considering the lockdown you would think the owners would have taken the opportunity to give them a good clean but pipes are rusty/dirty and tiles and grout which edge nearest to the floor were filthy.

I usually do a half day at Hemswell every few months. I'd not stopped for tea and cake before, but as it looked fairly quiet I took advantage. Given it was quiet, and social distancing in mind, I couldn't immediately get to the counter as a member of staff had chosen that moment to tidy up the display. I stood for several minutes before being noticed and eventually able to collect a tray. Earl Grey is available if you ask. Small selection of cakes under glass domes, I opted for Lincolnshire Plum Bread (new to me !). Contactless Card / Phone Payment available. Great seating area outside.

Hemswell is an old RAF base that as a collective of Antique Centres requires best part of a day to do it justice. That being the case you will require a break and this is the more established of the cafes on site. There is a good selection of refectory fare, hot meals, soup, salads, sandwiches and cake with a good selection of hot and cold drinks. Select a table, indoors or out, order and pay at the till, take your number grab your cutlery etc and wait for the food to be delivered to your table. We visited for coffee and cake on August 28th a Wednesday afternoon. My husband chose plum bread and I chose a fruit scone. My scone was very hard to cut. It was solid and very dry on the inside. When I took it back the assistant said ‘well I don’t know why it was fresh this morning!’ I make scones myself and that scone was about 2 days old, if it was a supermarket it would have been removed from sale! Rather than start an argument I said ‘can I have plum bread instead please?’Not only should this scone never have been on sale. I should have been treated with courtesy, and been given an apology. I should not have been treated as if I was at fault. We also noticed several tables had not been cleared. All in all a most unsatisfactory experience!

Cafe in number 1 was very disappointing last week when a friend travelled from Oxfordshire to visit. Years and years we have been visiting and buying from here - and using the cafe: and it saddened me to have staff seem so uninterested and less than helpful .. verging on rude! ! All we wanted was a soup and sandwich and service with a smile! I was embarrassed to have my friend and I spoken to and treated so brusquely by cafe counter staff. My friend just laughed and said “well that’s Lincolnshire for you” .. stuck in a rut! .. wouldn’t happen anywhere else! “ Good manners and politeness don’t cost a thing! Impressions last forever. Some customer care refresher training wouldn’t go amiss! Sadly the cafe in number 1 building let Hemswell antiques centre down on this occasion.

We had coffee in both the coffee shop and the restaurant, which was very good, even though I do think it's a little over priced at £2.90 for a large latte/cappuccino (even though I don't think we were given a large in the coffee shop) My only concern was the sizes of the coffee's did differ in the 2 cafe's?? They were completely different sizes, but the same price? Why are there latte glasses but they weren't used for the lattes in the coffee shop, there were plenty clean. Nice and clean in both places and nice service. Could do with some newspapers.

Have been to this cafe a few times over the years. No previous problems. This morning stopped by for a hot drink and tea cake. We were the first customers in there, The lady who served us was not welcoming at all, mo smile, no welcome, she took our order a coffee and 2 cappuccinos, 2 teacakes and a lemon cake. It came across that she didnt want to be there at all. So we got the cake and the 2 cappuccinos. My daughter went up for the other coffee, which she accused us of not ordering, which we did, this was treated with unhelpfulness like we were a nuisance. So we got the other coffee and sat down for the tea cakes to come, they came and they were both very dry, my daughters being stale. I went up and complained about my daughters - explaining that it was stale, to which the lady said they were fresh this morning, she finished serving some customers, and snatched out their recipt from the till, and thumped it on the counter in a moody way, i thought her comment was rude and uncalled for, instead of saying, oh I'm sorry what would you like instead. With great disgust she gave me a piece of cake for my daughter. This was my day off and was shocked and upset to be treated like this. My teacake was so dry I couldn't eat it, but didnt bother going to complain as I was not going to be treated in such a disgusting way again. I expect customer service to be at least acceptable, if not fantastic, not dismissive and insulting

Hemswell Cliff antiques centre is a great place to visit with a number of buildings to explore and at some stage you're gonna need a drink and perhaps something to eat and The Coffee Pot provides a much needed "pit stop". Whether it's just a cup of tea/coffee a fruit juice or something a little stronger you can't go wrong. If you need something more substantial you can take you're pick from a very varied menu and there's usually a special of the day (my wife was particularly taken with the cottage pie with its cheesy topping while i had the beef salad mmmmm delicious).

The orders didn't come out together as some items were kept in carvery or buffet style warmers and others, like paninis and hot baps, were prepared to order. The food itself was OK. Not brilliant, but not terrible either. Pretty much standard cafeteria fare. Pricing was about average, so I suppose that's the level to rate it - average. One point in their favour, it was clean!Maybe a quieter day would be better to eat here, when the staff can keep up.

We have been visiting Hemswell antiques centre for over 20 years now and on last 3 visits have been thoroughly disappointed with the coffee shop in building number 1.The teapots seem to have shrunk in the dishwasher (now a pot for 1 is what you get for a pot for 2 and are charged for 2 people!)I witenessed that the teapot size was exactly the same for 1 person as it is for 2,how can that be fair?!!Why do we now have to have egg with a bacon cob and onions with a sausage cob and if you don't want the add ons you will be charged for them anyway!I had the beef chilli with rice today which was dreadful too, chewy lumps of beef in a wishy washy sauce(mostly water from the boiled rice!) Get your act together or sack the manager who came up with these changes they do not work and the only reason you get the custom is because there is nowhere else to eat on the site.Other than that Hemswell continues to be a good antique venue and worth a visit ,but take a packed lunch!!

Fantastic place with buildings full of antiques dealers specializing in every kind of antique and collectibles good cafes and you could spend days here just looking and drooling over the items for sale. Really well worth a visit.

We popped in for a drink and snack whilst browsing through the abundance of treasures. We didn't have to wait to be served. The lady was very polite and helpful. We had one hot drink, one can of drink and 2 slices of cake. It came to just over £8, then the lady asked it we had our entrance ticket, this saved us £1 off the bill. The was a party sat outside, then one inside as well as ourselves, so the staff were not busy. However the tables were not clean and two still had plates etc left on them. The drinks and snacks were ok. I wouldn't be in a rush to return but it was ok for what we wanted.

fantastic upgrade to the restaurant, about time really as those sagging drabby coverings on the ceiling was well stained and dirty looking. Now wow so big and bright, mind you the prices could be a little cheaper for a lunch snacking menu. Good food anyway

We visited on a Wednesday mid-morning and tried both the cafe in the Guardsroom centre and also the cafe in Building 1 antiques centre. Excellent coffee in both and a very tempting choice of cakes/scones at the second cafe. It wasn't busy, where presumably a weekend will be, so we were served straight away and plenty of tables to choose from. Nice and relaxing, excellent refreshments.

The food sounded great but was very disappointing. The homemade vegetable soup was totally tasteless and the dessert, when it finally arrived, was microwaved to boiling. The server handed us a burning plate from the hands of her oven gloves, spilled molten syrup on my hand and left with no words of warning. The pudding was microwaved so long it was rock hard. Such a shame to gave such poor servings at such a great venue

This is a cafe in the centre "H Block" in Hemswell Antiques Centre. They have a good lunch menu which is reasonably priced with a good choice of drinks. On Sunday they serve a Sunday Lunch for £7.50 which is very good although it can get busy. The lunch menu is mainly sandwiches, rolls and panini's. They have a choice of soups and a couple of main courses. It is fairly large place with plenty of tables and you note your table number and order at the till. This is a good place to eat and drink.

Top antique centre . Lots to see across all the buildings. Really liked the antique fireplace collection in the Guardroom is was really different to see items like this . Nicely laid out buildings and good quality items for sale. Cafe was nice and food good. Enough choice of cake to keep, the kids amused and a nice place to relax after the monumental antique shop.

Popped in for a quick bite in Building one whilst working our way around the Antique centres. it was unclear whether we had to order then find a seat or find a seat first. We both ordered soup ( different kinds) the tables were fairly close together and getting amongst them when people were seated was tricky even for the slimmer customers! the soup was hot and peppery and a good price for what it was. The tented ceiling was stained suggesting that the roof leaks. I didn't see where the cutlery was as it wasn't supplied with the food on asking I was given a bit of an impatient 'over there' from a staff member, most places the staff point out to you where the cutlery can be obtained when they hand over the food.

Excellent coffee and cake shame there is no soap in the gents toilets. Great way to spread germs on the back of the tightly packed coffee shop. Plus trays covered in gravy yuk! And nothing to wash you hands with.

After queuing I reached the service point asking what sandwiches they had - there were no signs up behind the self service bar. ' the menus are on the table' was the reply. Presumably I was expected to find a menu and start queuing again. To save time I asked for a cheese Sandwick - ' we only do it with chutney' I finally persuaded this off hand rude woman to provide my simple snack. Whilst eating it she was rude and aloof to every customer she served generating a poor atmosphere in the cafe. The food was average and expensive. Avoid

No sé donde TripAdvisor nos dieron la foto. escribo para informar a todo el mundo que el pub ya han desaparecido, unfornately Dennis el encargado, ha tirado la toalla. una pena que sus domingos almuerzos eran deliciosos.
