On this trip to Liverpool, we came to this food stall restaurant with very good reviews. At first, I thought that the high price might not be worth coming back next time. But once a dish came, I understood it even before it arrived. It’s really worth the price. The food is very spicy and has the flavor of a Hong Kong food stall. Its salt and pepper flavor is definitely worth a try. If I have the chance to come to Liverpool again, I will come back here.

I had a wonderful experience at Hee Kee Cafe and Restaurant! The Hong Kong food was authentic and delicious, with standout dishes like the wonton noodles and dim sum. Food hit and miss. Started out gorgeous Tried again and now we won't be ordering again. Stale prawn crackers under done prawn toast etc etc etc shame as the first time we ordered it was the best we'd had this is or 3rd disappointment 😞 and it's not exactly cheap for a disappointment

Overall, it's actually not bad, but I don't recommend it. If there's too much butter, just make it into square buns and add condensed milk to serve without cutting it off. It doesn’t matter. Just do it like this, just three pounds.

Ordered food delivery from Hee Kee. I love the cheese baked rice and also mapo tofu. Good portion sizes and very tasty and fast service. Would recommend!

Taste of Hong Kong: their food taste exactly the same of what we had in Hong Kong local food stall.（大排檔） Steam Rice are included and refillable, and soup-dessert (糖水） too. If the braised pork belly could be sliced even thinner, it would be perfect for me but I have no complaints about this. I will come back for sure.

Friendly, good food for a “cha chang teng”. Rice and a dessert soup was free if hot dishes are ordered. Wonder if there is an English menu for local people. Should “pineapple buns” 波蘿包be shown at the window to attract more customers? (Suggestion: To further improve the quality, the menu might need to be simplified.)

Very tasty Hong Kong style food. Café de Coral’s sauce is better than black pepper sauce. Their Yuenyeung drink is the best I’ve tasted in UK so far. Service is good too.

When you order a la carte, you get soup and rice for free. The side dishes are full of Hong Kong flavor. It really feels like eating in a Hong Kong tea restaurant!

Visit in Saturday lunch time, ordered some dish and no need to say, it's better compare to those other Chinese restaurants. Flavor are balanced, not too salty or not too spicy. Soup and rice can refill unlimited, I refill at least like 8 rice bowl in 10 minutes 😅

It would be easy to walk by this place ... but don't! We had a lovely lunch with friendly, informative service. They even searched for us when we left a bag behind. The food was lovely with especially light Boa buns. Good sized portions, we were certainly full. We will return next we visit Liverpool.

Went here after 6pm and got free parking in front of the restaurant. Very friendly staffs. Lots of seat and nice ambience, very oriental. They also have high chair for my toddler. They serve free prawn cracker, self service rice and soup. Many choices of menu. Portion fit the price. Order 4 big main dishes for 6 of us (exclude the toddler), all were delicious, Asian style. Very worth it.

This was definitely an awesome found. The little restaurant was with BIG HEART. The only Chinese or Hongkongese cafe in England made me feel like home. It’s not only about the decent food price but also their package setting on lunch. The rice and daily soup were included with free refill if you order dishes and the free soup tasted so yummy with rich ingredients, not just a plain cheap soup. I ordered my favorite dish Sweet and sour pork balls and I liked it very much. The host named Sammi was very friendly. Really enjoyed this cafe. If you go to Liverpool and want to try Hongkongese cafe or restaurant with warm welcome, this restaurant will not let you down I believe.

Im a huge asian food fan and after traveling in asia for 8 months i feel that my bar is pretty high. The food at Hee Kee was just wonderful ! The menu is pretty vast so it was hard to choose but the stuff were helpful and we enjoyed everything ! Prices are fair.

Super authentic Hong Kong cuisine! Especially the salted egg-based prawns, which are outstanding. They are cooked immediately after placing the order, so would need to take some time but worthy! They are really fresh and served hot! Friendly staff, nice environment as well!

The menu selection is very diverse, there are many discount combinations to choose from, and takeout is also available. The staff in the store are very friendly and enthusiastic. The owner’s mother entertains her very kindly. It is very happy to meet fellow countrymen from a foreign country.

Ordered the lamb belly stew with bean curd sheets and paired it with a hot Yuzu drink with lemon. The egg fried rice came complimentary with the stew. I am not a big fan of rice, so I just had a little bit of it. The meal was not only delicious but also incredibly comforting—perfect for banishing the cold from my body. Just a note, the lamb belly dice did have quite a few bones, so take care while eating. The service was courteous, and the portions were generous. Highly recommended!

The food here tastes completely Hong Kong, as if it had been returned home, and the waiters are friendly, because everyone is Hong Kong people 😘 It’s obvious 🫰🏻 I highly recommend it and will come back next time I come to Liverpool It has recently moved to the city center, which is more convenient for me, and there is a free one-hour park bee. Friends who park bees, if you remember to tell them, you can get one hour of parking fee refunded.

The food is delicious and the portions are large. You can have rice, soup, and drink. The service staff are friendly and can speak Cantonese/Mandarin/English. It’s hard not to have them 😄like😃

This used to be one of my favourites however recently I've noticed the takeaways are ridiculously small in portion size (i.e. a tray full of rice with barely any meat), not acceptable and I won't be ordering from here again

I went to this place for food in many occasions when I visited Liverpool. Sweet and sour pork, salted fish, chicken and tofu clappot were excellent. Lunchtime menu is full of choices and my favourite is tofu with belly pork with rice.

Staffs are so nice and helpful. The food is great as well :)

So many authentic Hong Kong flavors to choose from, especially the Sin Chew Fried Rice (£13) and the Milk Tea (£3). Lunch time special (£9.8) Charles is very polite and well-mannered. That night, I ordered takeout and packed it up for me. The pork belly tofu was of a high quality.

The colleagues are friendly and courteous, and the food tastes authentic, but the waiting time is a bit long, 40 minutes before the food is served. It would be better if it can be improved.

There is no problem with the price being expensive, but the portion is very small. Before I placed the order, they promised to give cash a 10% off. But when I checked out, there was no discount at all and there was a service charge... (Today I saw a reply saying this and I don’t like it. I It's true. Finally got the Hong Kong style food stall flavor! All the side dishes are delicious, you can order rice and soup, and the price is so affordable that I went to the isolation food court to eat 3 rice noodles. We had gone down to order and wait. We was told 30 minutes, we thought ok. We waited 1 hour- we got our food home (10 minute walk) to find we didn’t get 2 of our items so that’s £12 missing. Prawn egg fu yung was just an omelette with prawns no veg at all! Tasted like sugar was in it. So ordering the same on uber eats was £44 we got charged £57. What an absolute waste of money and was vile!! 27/12/23- Ive came to the restaurant for my refund of the 2 items and for the overcharge they did of £10.70 (the difference on ordering onsite & uber eats) They said my refund was £9.40 and quoted me cheaper prices then uber eats.. i accepted that refund but sadly he had nothing but babbling excuses for overcharging £10.70! So no I’m not taking this review down. Really speaking a full refund would have been most acceptable because the food was vile anyways and most got put in the bin. So no I won’t take this down but I’ll alter it.

Authentic Hongkongese food, great taste!

This is my first time to have dinner at Hee Kee. It is surprisingly good. Their menu has a lot of choices. We ordered a seafood meal for 4-6 people. This meal includes 2 seafood dishes and 4 normal dishes,a total of 6 dishes and only cost us £8x.xx. Rice and soup are self served with unlimited refilled. Each portion is generously large. What’s great about it is that you can eat different variety of food here, such as stirred fried garlic and chilli prawn (tai pai don style), siu mei and Sichuan cuisine, the chefs there must be very professional, I can rarely found a restaurant in hk with many variety of dishes in 1 restaurant. The food is fresh and the portions are tasty and generous. E.g. there are 10pieces of prawn in 1 dish, a large sea bass, big bowl of sichun chilli and spicy belly pork. In general, the food is authentic hk styled flavour, delicious and the quality is very high. A must go restaurant when you visit Liverpool, highly recommended.

They charge £12.90 for this... Crispy Chilli Beef on Rice. The beef and sauce was nice, I'd normally give an extra star for taste alone but but the portions were obviously awful. Rice was nothing special. Packaging was awful, leaked everywhere out these cheap polystyrene containers. Did not follow any order notes, including did not provide cutlery (one pictured is from my backups). I got this as a 2-4-1 offer and I still feel scammed.

Simply the best Chinese food we’ve had in the UK. They specialise in Hong Kong food, but the menu is quite extensive so there is something for everyone. We had the roast duck and char siu, fried morning glory, chicken dumplings, and mapu dofu and everything was so delicious! My husband had a milk tea with our meal and really loved it. If you’re looking for authentic Hong Kong/Cantonese food in Liverpool you cannot beat this place!

Everything is fine except I personally do not agree with the restaurant stealing pictures from other restaurants (e.g. Tam Jai and Café de Coral) and putting them on the menu. Also, the ingredients in the dishes are of course different from the pictures. 4 stars for the atmosphere and food, minus 2 stars for the lack of integrity. Sorry.

Had an authentic and satisfying meal at Hee Kee. Staff members were extremely kind and accommodating. Both food and drink were excellent, and I was even given a complimentary tong sui (sweet soup) at the end. Really would love to come back for some dim sum and fried rice. Highly recommended for those seeking Cantonese food, as well as those interested in discovering more about Hong Kong culture because you will be immersed in Cantopop played inside the restaurant!

Came here for lunch while working in Liverpool - and then came twice more, because we wanted to try as much of the menu as possible! Absolutely delicious food and lovely friendly service. Most things on the menu have meat in them, but they can make lots of the dishes vegetarian if you ask. Very highly recommended!

The food doesn't taste right no matter how you make it, maybe the ingredients are not right😓 (ummm, The service is okay, but I really don't like the taste there, last time I ordered a few dishes, but all of they were awful. Yummy Hong Kong style food and drink like milk tea, French toast, fry noodle with soy sauce. The staff there are hongkonger too. They are very friendly and cheerful. Highly recommend to someone who miss the Hongkong dishes in Liverpool.

The rice noodles are just no for me… the soup is flavourless, its spicy and numb but there is just no flavour and depth in the soup base. Its like adding load of chilli and peppercorn in a bowl of water, the toppings are flavourless too, I can taste its just boiled in water, coz it doesn’t blend well with the soup. Chinese bbq is good but for this price I would expect a bigger portion ngl. I saw many delivery drivers waiting for a loooooong time because the kitchen was very very slow. Time is money to them and the staff was not polite to them too… But they do have amazing soup, hope things will improve next time i visit Liverpool.

Couldn't recommend enough of this place. If you're looking for amazing Authentic Chinese food, this is it. We got crispy pork belly and morning glory the first time. It was so good we came back the second day(the only two days we spent in Liverpool) The picture is from the second time. *** Hee Kee has moved to Renshaw Street*** 'Dirty' restaurant where vinegar was used to clean surfaces The business was slapped with a zero star hygiene rating after an inspection A Chinese restaurant was handed the worst possible rating for hygiene after inspectors found 'dirty' areas and vinegar being used as a surface cleaner. Hee Kee Cantonese Restaurant in London Road was inspected on February 17 by a team from Liverpool Council's Environmental Health team. Following the visit the business was slapped with a zero rating for food hygiene, meaning that major improvement is required. The ECHO used Freedom of Information laws to obtain a copy of the full inspection report and see what concerns were raised by the inspectors following the Hee Kee visit. In one section of the report, it raised the issue that 'the food surface sanitiser in use was vinegar, which is not compliant.' Another section added: "It was unclear how long the cooked duck and pork sides are hung before refrigeration. You should aim to refrigerate the meat within 90 minutes of cooking." The inspectors were also concerned that "floor areas in the kitchen beneath and behind equipment were dirty, with accumulations of fat and food debris". The report added: "The pavement and road gully area outside the back door was filthy. The gully appeared to be blocked. Blame was placed upon windblown litter, this debris would not accumulate if the area was kept clean and free from pooling water. "There were accumulations of waste paper, cardboard and waste food behind the chest freezer in the dry good store. This area must not be overlooked during routine cleaning." Food businesses in Liverpool are routinely inspected by local authority hygiene teams. A health officer will look at three criteria when inspecting a premises. These include how hygienically the food is prepared, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored, the cleanliness, layout, lighting and ventilation of the building and how the business manages what it does to make sure food is safe. Each establishment receives their rating following an inspection conducted by a food safety officer from the council. A rating of zero means urgent improvement is necessary, one means major improvement is required while two means improvement is needed. A rating of three means the premises is generally satisfactory, four is good and five is very good.

Damn it, I went to support it wholeheartedly, but I was disappointed. Tofu is a Western-style tofu, which has no bean flavor. It is not a Hong Kong-style tofu that is romantic for men. Even the rice is numb and depends on the juice. Although the rice and soup are optional, the soup is not sincere enough. It is not a traditional soup, but a super bland mixed vegetable soup😅 The lights inside the restaurant are very dim... I don’t know if it’s a new store, but I’m not ready yet!

Absolutely not recommend. If I wanted to ruin duck by deep fried it multiple times and burn it. I can do that at home for less then half of that price. Salt and pepper prawn not crunchy and leave powdery taste on tongue. Only good thing is that veggies was fresh. They even can't do fried rice 🤦‍♂️.
