Food is absolutely delicious, great portions. Friendly staff, we never bypass this chip shop, can’t rate it high enough.

Food was good and the portions were quite big. It was reasonably priced and the young guy serving was very friendly and polite. If we are back at Kyle of Lochalsh we'll definitely pay a visit.

There’s a definite lack of takeaway options in Kyle of lochalsh, but we opted for Hector’s 2 Go and we were not disappointed. The food was cooked fresh in front of us and was absolutely banging I had cheese pizza with extra cheese and my bf had fish and chips and it was all cooked to perfection we would 100% go back!!

Sorry but the fish & chips were very poor throw half of it in the bin as just a greasy mess I am not fussy but there is a limit and not cheap I am in Kyle often but will not return.

Came in on a cold July night hoping for a warm chippy to brighten my mood thankfully this is exactly what I recieved! The young girl working was very kind and charismatic and she produced my food very quickly with a bright smile, probably some of the best service ive had in a while. And although the young man working seemed a little shy (he was a little quiet when speaking) he seemed lovely too, I didnt really get the pleasure of meeting him. My chippy was amazing, hot and crisp with every bite. 100% would reccomend

Typical Scottish chippy that cooks chips until they're brown as they should be not the typical undercooked anaemic version that we get down south . Very extensive menu, spoilt for choice.

Menu offered as other fish n chips sites. I could taste the oil food was fried, it was ok. Open later than almost all places so we got food!

The best scampi supper from a chippy that I have tasted for a long time. The scampi pieces were huge, the coating was delicious, the chips were freshly cooked and crispy and the helping was enormous. My other half voted his smoked sausage supper 'the biggest and best'. Everything freshly cooked and delicious. Thank you

Bought 3 suppers from Hectors this evening, fish and chips and steak pie were ok, but the black pudding was the worst ever, sliced black pudding and absolutely soaked in oil, uneatable so the dogs got it

Nice chips, and really good fresh Haddock cooked to order, in a lovely crispy tempura style batter. Friendly staff. Will definitely try again next time I'm up here next year

I have travelled all over the UK through the years and I have some bad and some good fish and chips. Hectors puts them all to shame. This is what fish and chips should be like all the time. Crispy batter, lovely fresh fish and proper chips made from good quality potatoes. I am going back to Oxfordshire soon and I can guarantee that I will not be having any other fish and chips until I return here again.

Quite simply the worst fish and chips I’ve eaten in my life, which is quite a remarkable achievement given the places proximity to the ocean. The fish and chips tasted like they had been microwaved from the day before, had a chemical aftertaste and went...

I travelled 9 hours to work at kyle and stayed in a hotel there noticed there was a chip shop opposite as I was hungry I went for food I ordered a donner kebab and whilst waiting had to use the cash machine next door as they didn't accept card payments(during this pandemic?)when I went back in there w no fried food on display couldn't hear fryers going and no donner on a spit revolving then realized my donner meat was cooked in a microwave in the back from a frozen bag and when it came they put it in a small box it cost me £7.00 when I got back to the hotel I noticed there was salad underneath everything it was not fresh it was discusting and I could of baught a full bag of donner meat 4 times as much for £2.99 i visit every 6 weeks to kyle but will never eat there again all went in the bin.

We decided on pizzas from this place as there was not much choice in the village where we were staying. We looked at the menu in our rented flat and went to order. Didn't have to wait long and there was a portion of chips...

Best fish and chips in the area by far. Very reasonably priced and a varied menu including pizzas and kebabs. All freshly made to order and service is very efficient.

We got there at 2 minutes to 8 when it closes at 8 and they were so friendly and happy to take our order!! Had great covid measures in places! Cash only but cash machine next door so really not an issue!

Fabulous pizzas and haddock fish cakes which was an item from the specials board. Very pleasant over the phone and happy to change pick up time to suit us, all very efficient on arrival and all adhering to social distancing measures.

Stopped in here after a long day on Skye. Quality fish and chips, cooked to order and a haggis supper if that’s your thing! Friendly staff. Recommended.

Bought two haddock and chips. Very nice fish. Chips tasty too. I found fish batter maybe too bit oily, but that is matter of taste. As said, the fish itself was really good, so I’d give that definitely five star.

I had "the best fish and chips in the uk" at anstruther a week earlier and i can tell you they werent half as good as this place. The fish was fresh, the batter crispy and cheapest i've seen in my month in the UK. So good i returned for round 2 on my way home from skye.

The worst fish and chips I have ever had. The fish tasted stale, the batter moist with congealed fat. The chips tasted disgusting . Everything cooked in old fat. To charge £7.50 for a fish supper that bad is scandalous. AVOID !!!

What has happened to Hectors chip shop kyle of

I bought a burger from this place a couple days ago. As I said, the biggest mistake of my life. Buns were cold as well as cheese. On top of all that, the buns were covered with a tiny spots of mold. Delicious.

disappointing wait for an average meal. Considering it’s a fish shop on the coast it didn’t hit the spot. Having said that we all finished our dinner but wouldn’t rush back

Working locally I thought I would try out the local chip/kebab shop after work, what a mistake.

Great big portions of fish and chips. The pizza was both battered and deep fried! Everything was made from scratch.

If you are looking for proper Chippie Fish and Chips this is the place to go. They service battered haddock as standard instead of cod and it is so much tastier, and slightly cheaper. Good range of products to choose from. Also easy to find as is at the top of Main Street, just off the A87.

En Kyle of Lochalsh no hay mucho para comer, a ciertas horas muy tempranas esta casi todo cerrado. Encontramos este sitio de comida Rapida y local donde van los lugareños. Es comida para salir del paso. Eso si pedimos un Kebab que puedo decir que fue el mas grande de toda mi vida. No he visto tanta carne junta. Es un buen lugar para salir del paso ya que en la zona no hay casi nada. Me soluciono la cena de un día. Todo correcto. Propietarios amables

A friendly welcome, and fish cooked fresh while we waited. As a result, four pieces of excellently fried fish, great chips and a very tasty curry sauce and all exceedingly reasonably priced.

This is not a restaurant, it is a perfectly good local fish and chip take-away shop. (There is a also a cafe called 'Hector's Bothy' which has a spearate listing here).

After a long day at work and travelling for over half an hour in search for an appetising takeaway, we came across Hectors in Kyle. Both of us decided to go for a Kebab and recived possibly the worst kebab ever. While waiting out side we noticed something going in to a microwave, much to our disappointment we realised very quickly that is was our kebab. We’re not exactly trained Michelin chefs but is it possible to microwave a kebab. The kebab was soggy, watery and had an overpowering taste. However on a positive note we purchased a deep fried mars bar which to our delight was rather pleasant (would recommend).

One word...Slop. If I had a dog I would serve it any of the Haddock peas or gravy they pass off as fresh food. Terrible and not cheap. The young lad serving was canny though.

We were in Kyle of Lochalsh for the night during a trip to Skye and were looking for a good place to get some food in the evening. Online it said that Hector's was open till late but it seemed to be closed even though it wasn't even that late! Quite disappointed as we were really looking forward to it and wish the times were correct. Ended up having to find another place.

Cant really say much other than although their website says open until 2 in the winter it wasnt open went to hectors bothy they said it wouldnt open til 4. I think the website needs changing

there wasn't much opened, so we decided to try hector's pizza. just okay. it came with fries. but fries as a side dish for pizza? i asked, and fries came with it. they were decent.

Decent chippy. Only downfall is that everything in Kyle closes far too early. If you are on holiday ensure you get there before the watershed or you won't be eating. Midnight closing let alone 24 hours doesn't exist in these parts.

Visited on 01/08/2018 and purchased Fish & Chips for my wife and I at lunchtime.

We were on our way back from Skye and desperate for something to eat! We arrived at Hector's as they were cleaning up but the kind staff member fired up the fryers and cooked us fresh fish suppers!! Took a wee while but we were so grateful and the suppers were delicious!! Many thanks.

My wife ordered three fish & chips over the phone for collection in 15mins ‘ the gentleman behind the counter was very friendly when she arrived to collect ‘ fish & chips were lovely and would recommend to everyone.

The pizza are big cheesy and yummy. The children were hungry and they enjoyed the fries, burger ( veg) and the icecream , too.

I have had food from here several times and it was always good, however 3 days ago I had a donner kebab from here.

Not a good chicken pakora at all very dry and bland. My husband had a burger 🍔 which wasn't the best either, most of that went in the bin also. Very disappointing.

As we were staying locally, we went to Hector's 2 Go expecting fresh and tasty fish and chips. Unfortunately we were sadly disappointed. Heavy and tasteless batter was the main failing, along with chips that were bland - leading to us leaving most of the meal. In addition, the price was significantly higher than at home, giving a very disappointing overall impression and certainly led to us not being prepared to sample the delights of Hector's other eating establishment in the town.

Great fish, chips and mushy peas with gluten free batter. My non ceoliac companion said the gf batter was "as good, if not better" than non gf. Great friendly and efficient service.

Went in to Hectors to go and ordered a tray of fish and chips. Had SUPER service and enjoyed the best fish and chips that I had while in Scotland. I had fish and chips in Perth, and in Edinburgh, but Hectors tops them all!

We were tired of slow service and pricey menus at the pubs and restaurants. Hector's 2 Go was a perfect alternative. Fast service, then we headed down to the harbour to enjoy the evening with a lap full of healthy fish & chips.

Delicious cooked to order suppers. Would recommend white pudding supper. Clean environment and friendly staff.

The station staff at Kyle of Lochalsh station were unpleasant in spite of the fact that we were the only two people on the station waiting for two hours for a train. We retreated to Hector's for light sustenance and were not disappointed.

we spent the day touring the isle of skye and were staying here in lochalsh. hector's bothy was closed and we had a hankering for fish and chips. was not disappointed in them here. this is strictly to go - no booths to sit in or anything. i think you can stand and eat there if you wanted to. don't' consider it a resturant.

There are a lot better chippies out there, this is not a culinary delight. For laughs we ordered a deep fried mars bar and irn bru for my son who was born and brought up in London but when you put it on your menu don't pull a face when you get an order for one. This was the highlight of our meals. Tip maybe add a little cinnamon to the batter for the mars bars just a thought.

This is a cheap option, expecting too much is ridiculous. Fast, yummy and cheap. Stuff is friendly. Ate here several times during the summer 2016. Definitely recomended to people that dont look to eat in and waste 1 or 2 hours in a pricey restaurant - just quickly order and get sth decent to eat.

The salad was the highlight of the fish and chips I ordered. This place is right on the pier, but the fish did not taste fresh and the fries were less than wonderful.

We visited this chip shop after reading it's reviews and were disappointed. Any chip shop in a fishing port who offers 'fish' but no choice of fish, but can offer deep fried pizza and macaroni pies is to be avoided for fish aficionados. The chips were pallid and limp, the fish dry. Shame

Carry out fish supper ok but not anything special. Miserable service. Chips were a bit rubbery as if they had been standing around waiting to be fried for a long time.

Had a takeaway at Hectors 2 Go. The fish was as fresh as it gets with freshly cooked chips. Well worth a visit.

Popped in to grab some Scampi & Chips the other day. Really friendly staff, quick service and reasonable prices.I took the food down to the harbour to eat- there's plenty of benches down there and it's nice and peaceful!Chips were excellent- fluffy inside and crisp on the outside as they should be, and the scampi was excellent too. I'd certainly recommend Hectors and I'm sure ill be back.

Fish and chips, a must-have every year when I stay in Kyle of Lochalsh.This year I rent a car, to show my family two important attractions, the Eilean Donan Castle and the taste of delicious fish in Hector's2go. "Satt und Zufrieden" Thank You very much, it was a success. Till next holidays

I've tried this place twice over the course of the last few months when passing through Kyle and I think I can say that it has provided me with some of the worst food I've found anywhere in the Highlands and Islands. The food is old and cold - they seem to cook everything at the beginning of the day and just let it sit until you come along and pay five or six pounds for it a few hours later. The chips are appalling. I'm not sure what kind of potatoes they're using but they clearly don't care about the end product.

Sorry, this was not good. Pizza far from good. Even no garlic. And it seemed precooked. Thats why they couldnt customise it. I guess. Fish not much but okay. Prices difficult to judge. It wasn't expensive. But it was just not the quality i am used to. Staff real friendly. But all seemed so terribly oily. The whole place one oil fume.

Purchased 2 haddock suppers from hectors, possibly the worst fish supper I've ever had. I reserved my opinion until my friend had finished his supper, he also agreed it was terrible. When I order a fish supper I expect a whole fish, not half a fish and not to be as chewy as a bit of rubber. For a chip shop that is 200 yards from the sea you would think this fish was caught up Ben Nevis. these people have to realise that we are not all tourists and easily fooled.. Don't go here
