A perfect spot to come to for coffee and/or lunch. We come here regularly and always have a lovely time. Such friendly staff who always make us feel welcome. Thanks for being so great!

Simply fantastic, went on a very quiet Wednesday morning and served by a lovely lady behind the counter. Service was pretty quick and a very affordable and wide selection of breakfast items. The bagel was one of the nicest things I've had!!

Lovely place. Someone recommended this place to meet and it felt really nice--the coffee was great too. It's a small coffee shop, but you have tables and sofas and I really ought to visit more when I want to relax.

Absolute love this little cafe! The owners and staff go above and beyond to make you feel so welcome and at home and have such genuine care for their customers and local community. My grandma loves the cheesy beans on marmite toast and we often stop by with my little cousins for the mega milkshakes and sweet treats. The menu is a lush mix of proper hearty comfort and seasonal specials. Last time I was in one of the lovely staff was telling me that a lot of the ingredients come from the cafe’s sister shop 109 just a couple of doors down - so nice to see a local business doing their best to run sustainably! There’s a reason this place has stood the test of time (15 years last year I think?). Couldn’t recommend this gorgeous neighbourhood cafe more!

When we first moved to Heaton, I was excited about the Heaton Perk. A local funky and fun place away from the cookie cutter coffee houses. We started to go there several times a week. We were loyal customers. Not just a cup tea and sit on the internet all day kind.... we are the kind of customers who actually order food and DESERT!!! So imagine my surprise on Friday. 4 of us for lunch (and cake). I met with my friends and my wife came later with our babies. When she got there, she joining at the table after ordering and paying her meal. After it arrived, just before she could take a single mouthful. A member of staff ask her to remove the pram (containing our two 7 week babies) to the outside, even though it was raining, as it was blocking a table for 2. We were shocked!!! Are we not paying customers?? Are we not loyal customers?? We were told the needed the table for 2 new customers.... Now i am not good at math, making FOUR customers LEAVE in favour of TWO customers who could of waited a few mins doesn't add up in my world. Shame on them!!!! Well we won't be going there again.... Very Disappointing !!!! If you do go here whatever you do, don't dare to enter the building with a pram or babies.....

We visited recently with our little dog for the first time and it was a delightful place. It was a warm morning so we sat outside, dogs are very welcome in or out and she was given water. We only stayed for a pit stop before going to the park, so we had a coke-a-cola, iced coffee and a brownie which was sensational. It was very busy but the service was efficient and friendly and as newcomers we were made to feel very welcome. We noted it was very popular with locals and regulars. It's quirky and fun with friendly, down to earth staff and we can't wait to go back!

A brilliant, quaint little coffee shop with immeasurable effort and kindness. Really lovely staff, always helpful. I can't fault them. They welcome families, children, and pets, going all out to make them feel comfortable. If you're looking for somewhere to bring your family for a small bite to eat and drink, this is the place! You'll never feel unwelcome. I'll definitely be back.

My husband and I visited not long ago and we loved it, very nice staff and nice home-made food. It's a lovely little place with nice atmosphere and outdoor seating. We'll be back soon hopefully.

Came here today with my toddler and baby triplets, had an absolutely wonderful piece of tiffin and some of the best coffee I've ever had. Staff were welcoming and had excellent craic, and were incredibly accomodating of us and our large buggy. Couldn't have asked for better service, will be back as often as we can!

There was two young girls working, both cooking and serving. The cafe and outdoor area was full. They didn't get flustered at all. Everyone got there orders. Food was excellent!

I hate to use the word but the place had a great "vibe". Super staff, very friendly and welcoming. Tea was way better than the competition and the cake was yum.

An absolute gem of a place. So cute and cosy. Staff are absolutely lush as well. Took my grandma there and she loved it so so much. The peas on toast (can’t remember how you guys spell it!) was absolutely divine! The lentil soup was so good as well. The deco is so vintage I love it. Wish I had taken a picture, was too invested in my food :) Coming again 100%

We had two lovely oat milk flat whites, and a browse of the second hand book shelf. Super friendly relaxed place, perfect for a coffee and the food looked really good too.

The coffee was great, the atmosphere was calming however the food itself was a little but more then what I'd pay for a sandwich, but regardless it's a great place to go work and have a cuppa

Usually a good coffee but weak and warm today, disappointing!

Only stayed for a coffee, parking can be difficult, having to use side streets. But the coffee was fresh and hot. Staff seemed friendly

A lovely little treasure of a coffee shop with vintage memorabilia to board games and an old bicycle on display out back. A reminder of my home while growing up. Great coffee. Great choice of cakes. The service was ok, but a bit busy so not much time for the waitress to chat. I might go back when it's a bit quieter.

Lovely coffee shop! Nice and cozy atmosphere and have got plenty options for drinks. I got a caramel brownie which was lovely and a strawberry & banana smoothie. I have a feeling the smoothie might have had milk in which made it taste more like a milkshake but it wasn’t too bad. I would certainly return and recommend the cafe to others!

Serves nice hot drinks and good food

This place used to be good but has really gone down hill in the last 18 months. Staff are not as helpful, the interior is tired and needs renovating, food quality is sub-par (portion sizes seem to be random for example) and coffee is not good. Service is often slow and mistakes in orders seem to have become a regular thing. Toilets are either broken or dirty. Cannot recommend.

As a coffee shop, Heaton Perk fulfils it's primary function as the beverages here are good, there are light meals and snacks available, and it has a shabby-chic ambience that makes one feel comfortable. Worth a visit, if only for the chance to examine all the paraphernalia from the 1950-60s, including old radios,books, signs furnishings etc.

Was recommended to go here, won't be back. Ordered 2 lattes and 2 bacon sandwiches at 12.11. My partner went to see where the bacon sandwiches were at 12.54 and they had been forgotten about. Got a partial refund but wasted nearly an hour for 2 lattes! Not great!
