Heart of Balham - HOB in Wandsworth

This place deserves nothing less than 5 stars!!!! I had the vegetarian Lebanese breakfast. It was so delicious and wholesome, the owners of 'Hob' are very friendly and polite. I highly recommend this place to absolutely everyone. Honestly, a gem in Balham. I will definitely come back and bring my family along.

I have been ordering through Deliveroo for over a year and the food is amazing! One note: I think you have different cooks on different days, so please ask them not to cut burrito in half. It is better delivered when it is in full. Thanks!

Very friendly staff and delicious heartwarming food. Have been multiple times and still yet to try many dishes. The HOB breakfast and Shakshuka is superb along with the Moroccan mint tea the best I've tasted this side of Marrakech.

Wonderful brunch place. Good selection of dishes from different types of breakfast to toasties, burgers and wraps. Great coffee.

The Moroccan pancakes were super hard, which I had to reheat. The Lebanese breakfast was good and a good portion. The banana and pecan cake was flavourless.

We had our first and last meals in the UK here. Both trips were amazing.😍 We're going to miss this place! Very patient staff with foreigners haha and their food was amazing. You have to try their orange cinnamon latte!

The food at HOB is excellent! l mistakenly ordered egg avo with smoked salmon but they happily amended my next order even though this was my fault, everything on the menu is delicious and is cooked to perfection . It's my local for the best breakfast, brunch and dinner so will be visiting and ordering regularly, thanks guys !!

The food was incredibly cold. The pancakes were hard and not soft. There was a ridiculous amount of fruit but very small pancakes. And it tasted like it came out the freezer. Not happy at all.

HOB is by far my favourite spot ever. To the point I have had to tell all my friends and family to come and enjoy the experience for themselves. Quality food, I always try and get something new on the Menu haha. Amazing customer service. Friendly environment. You got to try the Halloumi Wrap. It's one of my favourites.

I arrived very early in the morning around 7:30, lots of people coming in and out getting coffees and sandwiches I was spoilt for choice and couldn't decide between the matcha and the turmeric latte so I had both. I only scan read the menu and saw pancakes and thought that would do me when they came there was a giant breakfast with it. What was really special was they make their own syrup which is flavoured with cinnamon orange juice and probably some secrets that they didn't let on. I would highly recommend this place and next time I'm in Balham it'll be a must for me to drop by. Really friendly team very knowledgeable and overly helpful I couldn't fault them not one bit 👍👍👍

I’ve only ordered from here once and enjoyed the food but nothing beats the service and ambience inside the cafe. So lovely and accommodating and service with a smile throughout. The food was delightful and I cannot stress enough how amazing the service was.

I went to HOB on Saturday for the first time I had brunch there and that’s all I ate on Saturday. I had diarrhoea all of Sunday and Monday. Also why you using plastic cups instead of glass cups?

I've been to HoB several times and always love it. The menu is huge with lots of variety and the food is always brilliant. Also very reasonably priced for what you get. Good service too. Would definitely recommend

Had a superb Lebanese breakfast and some Msemen here this morning. We had the vegetarian version, which was very delicious and very filling! The staff are lovely, and the place has a great vibe. Highly recommended! It's particularly handy if you're staying at The Bedford, which doesn't serve breakfast. Would definitely visit again.

I enjoyed my food however, one of the employees was behaving in a creepy manner, trying his luck at flirting with us. It made my friends and I feel extremely uncomfortable and we felt like we were being harassed, not to mention that kind of behaviour isn’t professional at all. I don’t think I’ll be visiting again unfortunately. However, everyone else was really kind and helpful!

We always wanted to go there but everytime there was a biig queue outside. We went today on friday morning for brekkie. It didn’t disappointed !!! I am a coffee lover so the coffee they have was amazing ! Our breakfast was delicious and we are still pretty full ! Everything was tasty full of great fresh ingredients and now I understand why ppl are waiting outside - because it is WORTH IT ! The stuff is super friendly and very warm ! We will be back for sure ! 🩷

Really enjoyed our brunch here, menu is extensive and has something for everyone. Food was a good portion size and we enjoyed the unique touches e.g. homemade orange syrup on the waffles.

The people are lovely that work here. I love there salads and they make great flat whites. I tried their vegetarian breakfast and it was delicious with it's North African inspired flavours. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a cheerful delicious meal!

For the price you pay, the food is very bog standard and the portion I feel is overpriced for what you get. I’ve ordered here a few times now due to feeling peckish for an English Breakfast like meal and never come away feeling satisfied. Not to mention a Hygiene rating of 3

Tasty food but arrived very late, should have stated the time once order was placed.

Had placed an order through justeat which hob excepted, prepared and had a courier arrive at the restaurant only to cancel half an hour later. Terrible service and extremely unreliable.

One of my favourite brunch spots. I had the best chai latte here, and the food is always delicious. They have generous portions and a varied menu. Highly recommend!

A popular little spot in Balham that has a few vegan options to choose from. I had the Foul Moudamas made with fava beans cumin, fresh herbs, and a lemon garlic sauce with hot peppers and pitta bread. Portions are generous and for the area, it’s well priced!

This is my honest opinion. The pictures of the food is definitely miss leading, overall the Lebanese breakfast is a strong 4/10. The potatoes weren’t fully cooked, some very hard some soft. The eggs are not well done on top of that no taste. The sausages were o k. The pita bread, I mean it’s pita. But! Those beans tho… mi like!! What disappointed me the most was the halloumi 😩 tasted so bland! Urgh. I ordered for delivery, with my order I got a mango and avocado smoothie (it was yum) . But with my breakfast my smoothie was laying down on its side … that I didn’t get. I don’t know why it wasn’t just put in another bag. But yeah.

Went for breakfast this morning. Fantastic food with great friendly service. Hob breakfast was so good and you definitely won't leave hungry. Don't walk passed this place, I don't think you will find better breakfast fare anywhere else in Balham.

Food was lovely I love to come here all the time however one of the staff Zineb has a disgusting attitude and dirty language! All the other staff and food was lovely

I recently had the misfortune of visiting HOB, and it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. The workers were extremely rude for no reason whatsoever. From the moment I walked in, I was met with hostility and unprofessionalism. They made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Simple questions were met with eye rolls and snarky comments. It's clear they have no interest in customer service or basic decency. I will never be returning and strongly advise others to avoid this place at all costs.

I remember it use to be called Mr As I never went there the name changed to Hobs friend and family said how nice it is .my daughter took me for lunch yesterday we had a little wait because it was packed when seating became available we sat the lovely waitress the taller one sorry don't know your name took our order was helpful and friendly our food came hot and fresh was very nice will defo go again the only thing is you might have to go very early if you go with a few people tip get the mango and avocado smoothie lovely.

Had a fantastic brunch on a Saturday - Lebanese breakfast, everything was delicious! The eggs were incredible! Good portion size and reasonably priced. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff.

Whilst on a visit from East Yorkshire for a few days we called in for breakfast one day, it resulted in us having breakfast every day during our stay. A gem that deserves more than five stars. The friendly staff, service and food is second to none. My wife is coeliac and she was catered for without fuss...Many thanks and look forward to seeing you on our next visit. The pasta chicken here is amazing. A taste out of this world. I definitely would recommend the Hob cafe if you are looking for authentic food with amazing taste cooked with fresh herbs and spices. Simply amazing.

Wouldn't accommodate a substitution for my gf who is allergic to bread, Chef refused to give couscous or some other carb to go with the vegan breakfast even though the couscous was right there ready, also the table was wobbly and there was a massive pile of trash outside (Reply - Your staff were nice, I wasn't rude to the staff at all, it was the chef that made the decision and I didn't even talk to them. I was ordering two breakfasts a scoop of couscous to swap the bread doesn't seem unreasonable to me as she has an allergy, it was ready made and would have been easily done, you didn't have any other substitutes for her - I don't care who's responsible for the trash, your customers have to sit next to it though)

The food is great and the owners are lovely but Adding pork to a menu that is predominantly halal and serving Middle Eastern/North African cuisine is disingenuous.

Come here quite a lot. Passed two times we have been forgotten about and been left 50 minutes for food. When we went up to pay and said we had been forgotten. We were completely dismissed no apology even.

Was first in the line on a Sunday morning and was told there was a 20 minute wait. We were only seated after 45 minutes and they seated 4 other groups before us. Then to top it off they tried to seat another couple on the same table as us which made no sense and was refused by all parties. The food maybe good but the shocking serves really takes away from it.

Amazing food, the tea was amazing. Really put a great impression on British Breakfast. I recommend the Chicken and Waffles. Their homemade syrup is delicious. I had the English Breakfast Tea and the Mint Tea, both were amazing. They had good gluten free options for my mom. Definitely a need to visit place.

We went for brunch on a Sunday morning so definitely Extremely busy, we managed to get in just before a very long queue started outside but being next to the door made the brunch slightly unpleasant with people keep coming in and out banging against my chair most of the time. Food is good and I would definitely be back maybe not on a weekend for a better experience, a bit more relaxing.

Lively little cafe in the heart of Balham. Ypu may beed to queue up so be patient when you do get here. Lots of sandwiches and drink options here, as well as a decent menu if you want a bit more to eat. The cappuccino comes in a size that is just too large for my tastes, but I had that downsized and obviously mentioned I didn't want chocolate. It was well prepared and was a lot better than some I have had elsewhere in Balham. I would say this is the best one I have had here so far in Balham. Recommended.
