HCF Chinese Takeaway in Birmingham

Placed an order over the phone at 7pm, and was told 25 minutes for delivery. After forty minutes I call and from the way the guy sounded they had forgot my order. Was told driver is on the way.... 20 minutes later I call again to be told driver is on the way, so I cancel the order. This is twice this place has done this to me in the last 6 months,despite being a regular customer. Well I'm done, you won't get any custom anymore.

We've been costumers for 8+ years and they never disappoint us, we always get treated with freebies whether it's fries or canned drinks and they always deliver the top service. When we call they know it's us and they know our orders from the top of their heads and we appreciate the services provided. The best Chinese company in town! Thank you HCF <3

They’re sending out food unacceptable quality and relying on Justeat to reimburse clients. I was offered a full refund if I took it back to the shop. That means a taxi for me due to brain tumour. Disgusted behaviour

Food was disgusting to be honest think the chicken had been cooked for 3 days rice was burnt

Great take away . Good value for money

This is our 'go-to' Chinese takeaway food. The quality is pretty good and almost always tastes great. I don't think that they use top quality ingredients, but they don't charge top quality prices neither. It is almost always very, very busy. Don't be surprised if you are kept waiting for service or delivery. BUT having said that, isn't that a good sign of its popularity? You cant fault the staff - have you seen how hard they work? Spare a thought for them and build in the wait time for your experience.

I found this place on Deliveroo. I'm always dubious about Chinese. But yep. This place is great. 3 orders now and all very tasty.

Our friends recommened this Chinese as the best one in there local area so we ordered via just eat last night 21/10/23. It was quite a wait last night a good hour for the food to arrive. Ordered around 8 then food turned up around 9. So slow service. Food when it did arrive was tasty and delicious and not overly salty like 99% of Chineses are. But like all chineses way too much onion in everything. Also part of our order was wrong, we received beef in sweet chilli sauce instead of crispy shredded beef. But can't fault the food. If we received what we ordered then this would be a 5* review because the food was worth the wait. Also the reason we didn't call to complain about part of the order been wrong was it simply was rather late and we just wanted to eat.

Never ordered from here before, but so glad we tried it. It was absolutely amazing, loads of chicken, food was so tasty and really hot, delivered exactly when arranged. Will definitely be returning customers x x

Really nice Chinese, best one to order from. I came on here to review it it was so nice comes really hot and I asked for peas and o ion in my egg fried rice and the rice is absolutely stunning. X

I always order from here best nice Chinese shop. Me and my wife love the chicken chow mein and the egg fried sauce. The curry sauce is also really good here not to mention sweet and sour chicken balls delicious. Never had any problems.and always friendly

Food is OK, nothing to shout about, vegetable components under cooked, when ordering have been told it's not safe to do so on debit card. Same mature sounding man, always seems to charge a extra 50p or £1 on top of the usual cost? Beware!

In all the years having takeaway from here I have had no issues whatsoever. Fresh, hot & tasty food! What more could you want!

Way too expensive for a place like this. Its grim! It’s not very pleasant to look at or visit. Staff are hidden away behind a hatch like they’re afraid of getting attacked.

Nice food at times,we used to order regular,but only every now and then for quickness. I knw cost of living is rising but its bad how often they keep putting prices up.its not just a few pence ,its like 20p,40p a time. Curries don't even come with rice or chips, its mad prices.

The food was awful, worst beef fried rice and king prawn chow mein ever, the chicken balls were just soaked in grease, won't be ordering from here again

Ordered take out, excellent food the spare ribs were outstanding as was everything else, hubby and l were very pleasantly surprised.

First time trying this place, won't be going back unfortunately. Chicken was DRY, so dry is was inedible. Chips wasn't great and curry sauce was really spicy.

Wasn’t the greatest Chinese I’ve ever been too tbh... the egg fried rice was pretty good but no better than any other Chinese. But the Thai Green Curry was really thick, no taste just spicy. I don’t mind a spicy curry aslong as it’s well seasoned but honestly felt like I was eating spicy gravy. Overall quite disappointed and wouldn’t order from here again.

Wonderful food It was tasty as not really heavy on you like some takeaways. We were very happy after We were a bit annoyed ordering through ubereats as it added an extra 3 quid charge, the takeaway did not charge this and were not aware of it. Quickly delivered to us too thank you

Really is a shame. This was an excellent place to eat. Past experience was excellent food and prices. You have let the prices get ahead of yourself. Seeking early retirement are we? £7 for chow mein. £7 for Singapore rice. Not worth the prices anymore. Like I say shame food is good. Looks like I'll be stocking up supplies from Wing Yips in Aston.

I always used to order from here when i lived at my parents best nice Chinese shop. Me and my husband love the chicken chow mein and the egg fried sauce. The curry sauce is also really good here not to mention sweet and sour chicken delicious. Never had any problems.

Pork & beef is fatty and or rubber like ,this place was great but not anymore, have chicken only then its ok ,or use tividale chef,

Avoid this restaurant, the food was bland and tasteless. To top it off the food was expensive for what you get. It wasn't just one dish, it was all of them. Who charges £3.10 for a bag of chips I mean really. An hour later our guts was hurting and I felt sick all night

Food was abysmal poor quality far to sweet was like eating sugar cubes chicken wasn't fresh was frozen battered crap spring roll was oddly big swimming in oil and fell apart when picked up was inedible when questioned staff about refund as was inedible argued as said was my preference and 100 other orders fine no problems refused refund and hunh up on me

Abysmal the food was inedible I ordered Pineapple chicken Egg fried rice and spring roll The pineapple chicken was so sweet was like eating a bag of sugar and the said got sweeter towards the bottom of the box. The chicken was clearly battered and frozen was hard and chewy. The spring roll was about 5 inch thick same as long was huge and swimming in oil there was about 1cm of oil in the bottom of the xontainer and the bottom of it was soggy and dropped apart when picked up. When spoke to the staff was unable to give refund as I had started eating I literally had 2 mouthfuls argued that it was my preference not there mistake and hung up on me. So angry and disappointed I have ordered from here before and quality had been much better.

I ordered my food and it was 2 hours late when I finally received it it was all over the place soggy and freezing cold they also told me I didnt pay when I did then when realised I paid wasn't a sorry or anything! Second time using this place the person that served me this time had very limited English , therefore took sometime to take the order . Food was ok and a little expensive but don't think I would use again as there are some far better establishments around that area .

I love this place my whole family loves this place, we always gave delivery its always on time or early its never been late, pipping hot, always what we ordered never had a bad experience and the food is delicious, my family come from King's Norton area to my house just to eat from here at least once a month (lockdown permitted).

We ordered the set meal C for 3 people. Amazing service, the food was ready to collect 25 minutes after ordering and was still piping hot when we got it home. All of the dishes were really fresh and tasty with good quality ingredients. Even the prawn crackers were spot on! They pack as much food into each box as they can so they were really generous portion sizes too. There was too much food for us to eat in one go but it’s too nice to throw away so we re-heated it thoroughly for the next day. Definitely recommend as the best Chinese takeaway in the area.

Absolutely worst customer service ever for a takeaway. 1st time I ordered waited over an hour & they got the order wrong and missed off complete item. Said would get refund on card but didn’t get. When called them they took off the bill the 2nd time. Food was nice though. This time the food arrived quicker. Ordered another time on line & was told 40 minutes wait. Hour & 10 minutes later called & was told it would be another 40 minutes making the wait 2 hours.(after a lengthy conversation with member of staff) not willing to get order done quicker unless I collected. (What is the point if I’m ordering a delivery) or they say cancel the order. So I cancelled. I would rather wait another 40 minute with another takeaway than wait with them & give them my money. Spend almost £50 each time order from here, won’t be doing again.

My son ordered from here this evening. NEVER AGAIN 🚫🚫🤮🤮 he had a 3in1 tray and it was full of hair I couldn't belive what I was looking at totally disgusting thay missed half his order and when calling them back had no answer. I would definitely not recommend at all

Havent had HCF since lockdown and was craving it. Truly lives up to its reputation the food was amazing no one does it like them. They made sure all my extra specifications were met. I enjoyed it so much cant wait to order again next Saturday:)

Food fantastic as always I've been seeing a lot if people complaining about the food being late etc may I stress that in the present situation it is going to be a few hours late and as they only opened back on Thursday it's to be expected if you dont want it to be late dont order be a little patient you wont be disappointed with the food

Just had a takeaway from them and it was delicious. The best Chinese food I’ve had in a long time. The Yuk Sung was particularly nice.

My review is based on customer service alone: I stupidly ordered from here when I meant to order from the one in Kings Heath. When I went to collect fifteen minutes early and realised my mistake I phoned and the lovely lady on the other end of the phone happily cancelled it for me and was very kind about my inconvenience to them! Top customer service!

This is a take away provider of Chinese food, they also deliver if you require. Food is really good at the price you would pay at most take aways. They have been trading for as long as I can remember so they must be doing something right.

After trying several local Chinese takeaways we now solely use this as the best in our opinion in the Kings Heath area. Food is always freshly prepared and nearly any order you throw at them will be prepared in 10 to 15 minutes.

Not the cheapest takeaway, but the food (especially the crispy shredded chicken) is really good.

Although it's not my local it's my first choice for a takeaway, food is wonderful and plentiful, place is clean and best of all the food is cooked in full sight so you can see exactly what goes into your meal if you want to watch.

2nd time we've used this place. Can't fault the food. An plenty of it. We'll certainly always use them.....whenever we fancy a chinese meal. When you're looked after.....you keep goin back don't you?

1Szechuan sauce had ridiculous amounts of sugar 2 Oily and doughnutty instead of Crispy Prawns with salt and chilly, with rubbery prawns 3 The the container in which the food was delicered oxidated because of the content durring delivery less than 10 minutes They put sugar in the szechuan sauce. Like a ton! I ordered vegetables with szechuan sauce and i could taste nothing but sugar, literaly o other taste but sugar and the chilly pepper. Who the hell eats sugar in their food? Anyway when you cook like that you ask or you advice the buyer in the menue that it contains extraordinary amounts of sugar... so that ppl know what the hell they buy... The vegetables were many and diverse but unfortunately i forced eating a litle bit because i was very hungry. Second item. Crospy king prawn with salt and chilly pepper... that was not crispy THAT WAS DOUGHNUTY. a very thick and cheap batter filled with oil and the prown themselves were like rubber. The only thing that i was happy about was the rice which I dressed it with lemon juice to wash away all that disgusting sugar in a hot sauce.... ... The servin was ok, the food is plenty they added a free tango can and a lot of rice but the quality of the recipeas is zero. And after eating half way through the rice i observed that the aluminium foil tray that they used was oxidated because the rice was steamy. Aluminium hould not contact food. It is simple common sense. Aluminium builds up in the brain over time and leads to Alzheimer... that is why you don.t buy cheap aluminium items for food or you don.t buy aluminium at all because it is harmful.

Awful my chicken and mushroom noodles had no chicken at all and was greecy and tasteless chips were old chips that had been re cooked and seaweed was stone cold i will never order from hete again.

This is not the first time i have mentioned the chips are re-fryed and got marks and really dry. i have had to not use the chips yet again.

The curry has an odd taste. Spring Roll was fairly watery and tasteless. Everything else was okay.

Ordered at 715pm delivery time of 815 given restaurant changed this to 20mins later! At 840pm app said delivery completed even though not received! Rang advised in kitchen 15mins rang again 915 said on way arrived 935!!! Ruined our night!!! 1hr 20mins late!
