Haybarn Inn in South Lakeland

Waited a long time for our meals to arrive (nothing special) pie was like concrete sausages not the best no fish and chips at 6pm !! Not much room in the restaurant for bigger families

Spent the week at Limefitt Park and went to the Haybarn Inn every night, had 4 meals in there too. The staff (Nicole, Sophia and Dom (the chef)) were excellent, having a laugh and a chat with us all. The food is great and isn't overly priced either. Most of the meals are between £15 and £20. It wasn't too busy when we were there last week but it was outside of school holiday season, I expect it gets busier during school holidays.

Food ok, but drinks too expensive. It's a shame as we would have used it more. £5.65 gor an ale £6.29 for a larger 😔

This place was great...the icing on the cake as far as Limefitt holiday park is concerned! We did lots of walking and after a hard day on the hills, a nice cold pint and a warm, friendly chat with Nicole was just what the Dr ordered! The first visit we stayed outside in the (very well maintained) beer garden, but on nights 2 and 3 the weather drove us indoors....we hadn't taken our young spaniel to a pub before and were unsure how she would behave but she was welcomed with open arms, a big fuss and a treat! The food was lovely and arrived very quickly after ordering and was delicious!

Good dog friendly pub havent tried the food yet. Only downside is that it only opens at 5pm

Have visited here a number of times in the past when we've stayed at Limefitt Park. Only a short walk away and a great alternative to other pubs, if you're looking for somewhere super close. Stopped off here last Friday, as we didn't arrive until later on in the evening so decided to stop off here for a bite to eat. A great atmosphere, very cosy with friendly staff. Dogs are also allowed, which is really nice. I ended up having the "crispy fried chicken burger", which was delicious! Mum was able to have the gluten free version of the "chicken curry", minus the bread. All in all, a great place to enjoy a bite and a drink or two, particularly if you want somewhere just a stones throw away. Update - 20.05.2024 Came here again tonight for a meal, and decided to try the Katsu Curry... Super impressed! I wasn't sure at first, as I'm always a bit wary of having something different. But hands down, one of the best meals I've had there, if not THE best! The presentation was perfect and the taste was sensational!

Food wasnt available when visoting and nobody could be bothered to let us know prior us sitting for ___ minutes and walking to bar to order even tho we were greated by staff and went to dining room.

We bob in often and the staff are friendly and helpful. Food good service good. Very clean n tidy. Would recommend a visit..

Never seems to be open. Came up to stay at limefitt for the Christmas week and it's not open for the entire week !!! The reason we stay at the park in winter is so we can eat, drink and use the pool tables etc. Especially when the weather is poor. Wouldn't have minded but spoke to the park after trying to call the Haybarn over 30 times in nov and early Dec ( no answer or reply to e mail or messages) and not one member of Parkdene staff said it would be closed. Very poor. Its the main facility here

Lovely old style building with beams and fire place TV was showing some sports and terrestrial TV dog friendly has a outside beer garden nice spot in summer

We visited here while staying at Limefitt. We visited a few times during our stay for a meal and drinks. Lovely atmosphere, dog friendly and felt comfortable visiting with our daughter. Staff here are lovely and so welcoming.

Great pub on a Parkdean site. Lovely warm fires to sit by after a long walk in the surrounding fells. Had a few amusement games and a pool table and is dog friendly too!

Was staying on the site and decided to have a meal in here on the Saturday even though one of the cleaners had said it may be better to go off site. The lady behind the bar was very nice and helpful. We ordered 4 meals and the food was of a very acceptable standard. If I have to say something negative was that they had not staffed up and the poor bar lady was running about both serving at the bar and also having to dart into the kitchen everytime a buzzer went to also bring out the food. Credit where its due she did a good job.

Nice little pub which is part of the park dean lodge site, friendly staff and usual pub style food at reasonable cost. Lots of screens if you want to watch sport or anything if enough people request it.

A lovely spot. Would definitely visit again. Unfortunately the app wasn't working and they could only take cash which was inconvenient, but the staff were very friendly and the food was very good. Would benefit from large outdoor under cover dining area as the views are fantastic.

Stayed at the lodges for 2 nights first night was the Friday short staffed food still lovely lady behind bar was run of her feet but always letting you know what was going on and happy to help could not apologise enough was not her fault. She was doing bar service and app service really dont know how she did it then you get the idiots moaning football not on give the lady a break

Lovely place. Arrived at limefitt Caravan park today. Had a couple of Pints, Madri, and Pizza & Chips. Very nice indeed. Friendly staff. Worth a visit.

We always stay here at Limefitt park as a family, it has always been a 5 star experience, especially the food and the service from the kitchen and the bar. It was lovely chatting to the staff Bex, Jess, Dom and Daniel for always going an extra mile when serving food and drinks. We always eat here and food has always been spot on and staff do make you feel so close to home. It’s a place to stay and eat!

Very nice bar staff so friendly and helpful. A bit over worked through. Doing everything from serving at the bar taking food orders bringing out food to tables and sometimes only one person doing it.

Beautiful place with fantastic surroundings, food was ok but unfortunately let down by the young blond girl behind the bar who was so miserable and quite frankly rude, we did not return.

Absolutely amazing service delicious food and nice and cosy pub. Nice “rest” stop for a hike to Thornthwaite Crag and other local areas.

Lovely food, well priced we had the deal 2 courses and a drink each for £35 for two. Lady behind the bar was lovely, very attentive, giving our pup treats and asking how our food was and having a chat. Nice touch of having access to games to play whilst we ate and drank.

Lovely pub located at Limefitt park. Unfortunately it was let down by a fairly disinterested young woman on the bar last night.. She said that they couldn't accommodate a table for 12, or even 2 tables of 6.... However, on checking we found that there was plenty of space and furthermore we were served by a lovely older lady called Mandy, who in spite of being run off her feet was efficient and professional. She was there to greet us again on Sunday morning( today)... She was apologetic for delays because she was serving a full compliment of private owners, however she served a lovely breakfast with the same professionalism as the night before. She really is an asset to the Haybarn. The food on both occasions was typical pub food, but tasty and well presented. Would we return? Definitely.

Food was very nice, my chicken was slightly dry but still very nice. Food is expensive but it's still nice and the portions are very good.

We went here as we had just arrived 24/03/2023 and wanted to eat something quick well it was just ok but very expensive for what it was . The staff behind the bar was miserable and the whole atmosphere wasn't great . I wouldn't recommend wish I had ordered the Asda shop to be delivered to our lodge

Friendly staff and lovely pub food. Food nice and hot, no complaints from us all week. Beer and ales also fab. Great little pub to have on a nice site. We will be back.

Ate here once during our weeks stay. Basic pub grub. It was ok. They have 3 real ales on draught, the one that they had on was called Colle Wobble. It was awful. Ladies toilets out of order the whole time I was there, sign on door saying use the disabled. As a disabled person I found this incredibly annoying. I also cannot understand why it would take more than a week to fix whatever the problem is. Staff pleasant enough.

Good food for a family of 6. Unfortunately we waited 45 mins for our meals as chef was having a much needed night off. Had free desserts made up for it!

Good selection of drinks in the bar, some entertainment in the form of a pool table, puggy's and music on the TV throughout the bar areas. Staff are very friendly as well. Recommended highly.

A wide selection of drinks and food. This pub is much larger inside than it looks. Great outdoor space. Beer garden one side and terrace the other. Lots of things for children. Definitely a family friendly pub. Large screen and pool table. Good selection of food, although we didn't try it this time. NOTE: Happy hour between 4 and 6. This is not advertised. Excellent.

Didn't eat but had good menu, loads of seating inside and on the great outdoor deck area, pleasant staff and great cool Ales!

Nice little pub with some quiet areas to sit when it gets busy. Has table service and app ordering. Prices can be a little steep but then what isn't now. Plus it's the only pub within a few miles and is great after a long walk. Staff are friendly and helpful and there is lots to do inside. Watch sports, play pool and pick up machines for the kids.

This pub needs a new management change.

Lovely inside with many tables, pool table, good menu, great service but need more vegetarian/vegan dishes but the jumbo fish & chips is very nice. On the outside the Inn is on a hill that is quite steep so take your inhaler or just take the hill slowly. Oh yes dog friendly.

Lovely setting and lovely staff limited menu with no salad option. Food was nice and hot and what we had was tasty.

Staff very helpful. But not enough..stayed at limfitt so it was handy. Over a period of 7 days the choice on the menu got less and wait time sometimes was over an hour half.. e.g a simple Caesar salad was unavailable for the last 4 days
