I can’t say what a fantastic place this is. Only the second time I’ve been in there although they stop serving food they went above and beyond trying to help us where to get something to eat. We ended up staying in the pub and the male choir came in and started singing the atmosphere was just so good. It got a little crowded Coming back in after going outside for a fag in the massive beer garden out the back and people at the next table, all moved round and passed chair over their heads, so my friend can sit down with me. Go visit. Oh and all bar staff friendly and courteous Really great night.

Understanding, welcoming and warm. I use these words as a support worker for adults with Autism and learning disabilities. Someone I was supporting wanted to try and go to a pub for a drink. I knew we were going to be passing the Hawkins Arms so I called ahead asked how busy it was and also explained we would need two tables to give space. The understanding and acceptance received from the owners and staff was fantastic. All staff had been made aware we were coming and helped every way they could. They genuinely made someone's experience fantastic by caring and that is priceless. Well done Hawkins Arms you should be proud.

We popped into the Hawkins Arms for a pint while we waited for our takeaway to be cooked. The pub was cosy and full of other patrons creating a great atmosphere. The St Austell beer was well kept and served in correct glassware, always a good sign of a pub who cares for their customers. Cheers to the Hawkins Arms.

My parents have lived in Probus for years and took me here recently after coming back for the summer from overseas. The food was fantastic and the staff were brilliant, very accommodating giving us a separate room because we have a young child. The kids menu was also great. Can’t recommend enough!

I dont normally go for plated roasts as I dont like hard veg but this place comes highly recommended so thought I'd give it a go. Not disappointed at all. I had the beef and it was amazing 3 massive slices and Lovely soft carrots, broccoli and red cabbage and roasts with a huge Yorkshire pudding 🥕 😋 Such value for the price as well!

What a great find. Very honest atmosphere with lots of locals enjoying a Sunday lunch. There was no problem about bringing in our two newfoundland dogs. In fact they made a real fuss over them. The food was well cooked and tasty. We had a beef roast followed by sticky toffee pud.

Lovely pub... very welcoming lady behind the bar.. Had the lunchtime beef and horseradish sandwich with a side portion of chips... A little disappointed that didn't get a choice of bread, looked like just med sliced white bread from supermarket, which is fine if advised...but for the price I expected a little more.. Again, not alot of sandwich for the price, but on the upside, large portion of lovely chunky chips!

Food brilliant, the service was good, however we were sat in the bar area and it was very noisy, which spoiled the evening a little but the food made up for that, next time we will ask for a quieter area if possible.

Positive and negative feedback. The negative we where part of a party of 20+ who booked in advance for a function, Hawkins Arms requested a list of meals in advance so they can be prepared which is fully understandable. We looked at the menu on their website only to find the menu online had not been updated so a few had to change their choice of food which again is not a major problem. What was irritating and out of order in my mind is when it came to paying every meal was £1 dearer than the online menu again because the online menu and prices had not been updated, at no point were we told until my wife questiond why the meals we had where more than it should have been. Bringing this to their attention they didn't seem too concerned over it and as they said "its ony a pound" I'm not hard up for £1 but its the principle. In my mind you could apply this to anything you buy, show it as one price but charge extra and say "its only abit extra" but it isnt correct in our minds. The food portions where very generous and the food was hot, that coupled with good service is a posative but the negative part of the overall experiance left a bad taste in our mouths. I would suggest you bring your online menu up to date and the prices. UPDATE Very quickly had a reply from Hawkins Arms and have to thank you for the kind gesture. Sorry to find out your website was hacked it would have put a differant light on how we felt had that been explained, sincerly hope that for your benefit you dont have that problem again. Still stand by the fact the food and service was good. Thankyou and good luck for the future.

Ordered a fish finger sandwich but was most disappointed. Cheap basic sliced white bread, 6 very cheap fish fingers (more breadcrumbs than fish and what fish there was, was grey and tasteless) and a tough lettuce leaf. Served with half a dozen crisps and a tiny amount of salad, inedible because of the dressing it was smothered in. Certainly not worth £8.95!

Our first visit was for a Sunday Roast, we found it welcoming and the food ok. We rebooked for a Friday evening dinner visit and could not be more disappointed! First we found that indoors was closed and only serving outside in garden. We waited 30 minutes for our drinks and they got the order wrong and the waitress implied that it was our fault for confusing her. Another long wait for the food of which 5 meals were good but the lasagne was pretty much inedible and burnt to a solid lump. When it was returned we were told that we couldn't have a refund as the owner was absent but a free drink was offered against the meal cost. Offer was declined!

The staff are amazing, we found it impossible to get a reservation anywhere in Cornwall, so glad we found this gem. Currently seating is outside in the garden so you will have to brave the elements, but the team and the food definitely make up for it. The moules mariniere were so good and a really good size, the T bone steak was more than enough. This place is definitely worth a visit.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant is a pleasant environment and great food. I had the all day breakfast. You can choose 2 from beans, tomatoes and mushrooms which made my life easy as I didn't have to ask if they could swap baked beans for anything like how I do in other places lol. For £14.50 you get 2 eggs, 2 sliced of toast, 2 sausages, tomato, mushroom, and 2 slides of bacon, you get 1 hot drink (tea/coffee) and also one juice (orange /apple) so yip, my holiday craving of "I must have a full English whilst on holiday" was definitely satisfied.
