We have just tried this cafe by chance and glad we did. It was lovely and clean, lovely staff and lovely reasonably priced food.

This is a cafe I pass daily but today, we decided to give it a try. So glad we did. Lovely traditional cafe fodder. My husband had the mega breakfast and I had a jacket potato. Both were generous, well cooked, delicious portions. A full size teapot served tea for two. Plenty to accompany lunch. The staff were very friendly, service was quick and polite. We will be back. Perfect for a tasty and filling lunch and excellent value for money.

Spotlessly clean restaurant with great staff. We had the vegetarian breakfast for £6.90 and tea and it was delicious. Perfect eggs, great sausage, lovely mushrooms and hashbrowns to die for. All served with beans on a massive oval plate. Just hit the spot.

I've had 2 weeks off work and visited several food establishments around the Hurst Green and Hawkhurst area. I just found then pricey and disappointing. I Always drive past Hawkhurst cafe when going shopping but never been in until now. When you want a delicious breakfast, baguette jacket potatoes or a special of good of old fashioned liver and onion this is the place. It's friendly its clean. Great value for money and from the sausage I had, top quality ingredients I had choice 2 My new go to Bit of parking around the back 👍 well worth the visit 😁

We were staying at a local B&B and dropped in here on the off-chance for lunch. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the food turned out to be really good. The place was a great find!

Great service & food, really enjoyed. The waiter was very polite and attentive, and even though it was busy today we still got food almost instantly. Tasted great as well. Amazing!

Does what it says on the tin. Nice and spacious, large tables and booths by the window make this a great place to stop and people-watch. If it could be improved, some extraction to suck out that hot-oil cafe smell, but don't let that stop you from visiting this good little eating place.

Popped in for breakfast and it was really lovely. Sausages were really nice as was the ham . Was busy in there but didn't have to wait long which made a change so well done the staff

My wife Susan and I are lovers of a café breakfast and this place is becoming a favourite stop as it is halfway between Maidstone and Hastings, a route we travel frequently. Recently we stopped there mid morning on a Saturday on the way to Hastings, having promised ourselves a breakfast. We were greeted immediately and chose the standard English breakfast, and me being a little greedy I asked for an extra egg and some of their bubble and squeak too, all washed down with a pot of tea. It came quickly, was hot and delicious and the best thing is that the eggs come poached to perfection, with orange yolks and just oozing as you cut into them. Wifi in this cafe is lightning fast, too, so you can have a good browse whilst enjoying your meal. I'd like to add something about the staff, too. Most staff in such establishments give good customer service, but whilst we there there a gentleman of pension age entered and was greeted immediately by a staff member who called him by his first name. This gentleman appeared a little confused and said to the staff member that she should pardon his memory as he was having a difficult day and was struggling to remember things. The staff member reassured him that she could help him and invited him to sit down whilst she made him a coffee. My wife and I both drew the conclusion that this gentleman is a regular, is a little confused at times and is perhaps recently widowed and struggling to adjust. What we saw was real care in the community, and I suspect that his coffee might even have been on the house. I would have happily paid for it otherwise, and I hope that someone would look after me in my later years in such an empathetic way if I needed it. What a great team, and I know from talking to them that they say that they have a great leader in the owner.

We sat in a seat that was free although it hadnt been cleaned. We waited about 5-10 minutes for service as we watched the waitress take orders from the people who had just walked in. Once we finally got our order taken it took a while for us to get a milkshake and a diet coke. When we got our drinks the shake was the wrong flavour so i went up and was polite in saying "i think there was a mistake, i ordered a Chocolate milkshake" and the blonde lady told me that i definately ordered Strawberry when i cant have strawberries why would i order them, she also told me told me that i cant get it swapped. It took about another 30 minutes before we got our food the woman who served us was polite (ombre hair) the blonde lady has also been giving us dirty looks all the way through serving people who ordered after us and had way more food than us. I am disgusted after doing a parade and being hungry to come across this kind of manners especially on such a loving day of rememberance.

We use this cafe regularly and always good breakfast and love their coffee. And always clean. Very friendly service too. Highly recommended.

We stayed locally and didn’t fancy the breakfast offerings so ventured out and found the Hawkhurst Cafe. We were greeted with a genuine friendly smile and the group of sweet local seniors nattering in the corner added to the attraction. Portions were plentiful and most certainly not greasy. They kindly filled our travel flasks with coffee to help us on our trek that day. Very nice place and happy customers.

Nothing special , but always served with a smile, basic food but that's all it is, tiger breakfast great, and it's cheap too

First class breakfast, fantastic choice, anything and everything on the men, perfectly cooked and such good value. Very friendly staff.

The team running this café are very hard-working, pleasant and efficient and in a short period have established the café as a kind of club where the village folk are pleased to meet, both individually and in family groups. my wife goes there regularly every morning on her way shopping and has always found them to be consistently good.

We had a great local breakfast in this coffee. It was well cooked : we ordered with my wife the typical English breakfast and for less than 5 £ we had scrambled egg, sausages, beans, tomatoes and toast. Definitively a good address for a breakfast

We had a coffee here and it was clean, but not really our sort of place, saying that at least the coffee was in China cups not paper like in waitrose

Clean. ,non expensive cafe, pleasant. Staff. Bacon sandwich. Was. Great. Basic meals. But more. Than enough.

Vienen aquí muy a menudo pero nunca volveremos. Comida junto a un amigo y pedimos a nuestros hijos, amigos comida llegó como cada otra persona en la cafetería aunque todos ellos llegaron después que nosotros. Cuando le preguntamos a la camarera donde mi 'comida me preguntaron 'haremos lo quieras o no! ! 'obviamente la respuesta fue que no lo llevé yo y mis 2 niños con hambre a la granja de pescado para el desayuno, que era una experiencia mucho más agradable.

When i occasionally go here for breakfast its always nice and fresh with no fat anywhere . The service is good and friendly it could be cheaper but i dont mind as i always enjoy it.

Fuimos a dar un paseo. El tiempo era lluvioso y triste. Nos apetecía buscar un café o cafetería para un bocado de almuerzo. Nos costó encontrar algo abierto. Nos encontramos con este lugar. Qué encontrar. Limpio y agradable. Que somos simple comida. No nos gusta nada demasiado elaborado. La comida era estupenda. A un precio razonable y hay mucho donde elegir. Me trae los niños aquí. Los asientos eran cómodos y espaciosos. No nos sentimos presionados. Los baños estaban limpios y tenían agua caliente para lavarse las manos. Sin duda volveremos. Gracias a los propietarios para hacer un día de lluvia parecen mucho menos deprimente :-)

I stop off here regularly and have a great set breakfast, the owners are pleasant friendly and helpful, it is situated right on the crossroads of a busy road junction and parking is around the back. Sitting by the window is a good place to see the World pass by!

Always go there with grandchildren as they love it. Food very nice. Atmosphere ideal for little ones and staff always very friendly

We popped in for lunch . Was lovely food cooked fresh and was good value for money. Staff are very nice. The place is really clean well done

Stopped here today for a quiet family breakfast. Both of our waitresses were brilliant, polite and speedy. Our drinks came quickly, closely followed by our freshly cooked food. £22 for a family of four for breakfast and drinks was very reasonable. We will definitely return and would highly recommend.

Central location. Breakfast for about £6.00 including a drink. Clean and tidy. Good spot to watch the would go by.

We usually enjoy our meals here but were astonished to be charged 50p for a refill of our tea pot with hot water. When a meal for three already costs £23 this seems unnecessary for what is just water.

Not much more to say. Good varied breakfast, chatty accommodating staff. You won't leave hungry. AND. terrific value for money.

I have frequented this cafe a few times as my other half lives in Hawkhurst and those times have been ok, food has always been adequate if you're just after a cafe type meal. However after just dining there I'm not impressed. Halfway through eating my ham and cheese panini, I noticed a hair going from the grilled cheese inside the panini, to my mouth. A blonde hair when I am in fact dark haired. To say I felt sick was an understatement. I went up to the counter with said hair to the young blonde girl who works there. I said "I believe I've found something of yours in my food".She wasn't apologetic at all, just shrugged it off and said "oh ok you not pay for the meal"....well no I'm not paying to eat somebody's hair, so she was quite right . Then she swiftly walked away without saying anything more. However I could have had an apology, especially as this sort of hygiene issue isn't a great advertisement for somewhere that sells food! Based on this hairy experience and the fact they got my partners order wrong, didn't apologise and just slammed the replacement on the table before walking off...I shall not be returning.

Came here last year , food was delicious , so when my friend said did I want to go for lunch at Hawkhurst Fish Farm I said yes please , my friend and I had quiche ( ham and brie ,salad and new potatoe's was lovely

A newish addition to Hawkhurst. Been many a time for breakfast since it opened and not had a bad experience. Thoroughly recommended.

It's a nice different place, the place, I think lacks on character, they sell paintings and the decoration could be a bit better, but the food arrive very fast and the service was very good actuality, no complaines at all. Will definitely return.

A modestly priced café which attracts many villagers and their families. The hard-working owners produce a friendly atmosphere and their range of things to eat is aimed at the family and is clearly successful in providing what ordinary people want.

We called in for a late lunch. From the specials board we ordered Lamb Shank & Steak and Kidney Pie, both supposedly "Home Made" (no prices shown). The waitress (believed to be Polish) said Steak and Kidney PUDDING we explained NO pie was wanted & pointed out it was Pie on the specials board. Guess what, Pudding arrived when we protested that we ordered Pie the waitress explained she had told the cook that but he produced Pudding. What sort of place would do that. As we wanted food we took the food provided. My Lamb shank was ok but a bit undercooked in places, cauliflower was rock hard as was the carrots & peas were only 2 forkfuls, and small amount of mashed potatoes and excessive amount of gravy. The Steak & Kidney Pudding supposedly home made was ok but excessive amount of gravy.The cost including soft drinks was £20.85. Other reviewers have praised the breakfasts so maybe they are ok but the meal was not satisfactory for us, if you order an item then that is what you should get.

Me and my husband pass this cafe alot but have never gone in, last sunday we decided too and it was fab my husband had ham, eggs and chips £3.99. I had the full english i asked to have no eggs or beans which wasnt a problem and gave me an extra sausage instead which was a good quality sausage and that was £4.99 and we both had a drink and the whole meal came to less than a tenner. The only thing i can complain about is that the radio was a little out of tune.

We always pop here for a cheeky big breakfast or a fast lunch.Hits the spot every time. Exactly what would you expect from the type of place and price you pay.Will continue to go back!

Had a great breakfast on route to holidays. Clean well cooked cafe food. Lovely staff give it a try.

I was in Hawkhurst with a friend and had some time to spare and found this place and was very glad I did.The staff were lovely and very friendly on our arrival and provided very prompt service. The menu was very expansive but being early we only opted for a drink and a piece of cake. But the tea was lovely and strong (just how I like it) and the slice of cake was massive! I can honestly say I have never had a slice as huge before! It was also very fresh and tasted delicious and presented beautifully with a dollop of cream on the side. You certainly got your money's worth! I can't wait to go back and try some of the other meals on the menu.

We found this cafe purely by accident whilst passing through Hawkhurst. Great all day breakfasts and plenty of veggie options too. Nice coffees and a range of herbal teas. The staff there were very pleasant and it was a relaxing experience.

Found this great Cafe whilst driving through Hawkhurst with my partner. The cafe is very clean and welcoming and has an extensive menu. Being a Vegetarian I chose the Vegetable Lasagne. My partner had the Jacket potato with tuna. The food tasted great. We had a pot of tea for two the tea was lovely and strong. The waitress was very friendly and the service was great. We would definately return if ever in the area again.
