Haweli of Sutton in Waltham Forest

First time ordering a take away from here tonight. Food was due to arrive between 7.30-7.50pm. After making contact with the restaurant three times the food eventually arrived at 8.35pm. Sizzling duck starter one of the most disgusting things I ever tasted. It was like rubber dipped in a nasty cold red wine sauce. Chicken biryani dry with no flavour. I was in the middle of eating chicken achari main and pulled hair from my mouth as shown in picture below. I had to throw all food in the bin and this restaurant will be reported and I will be calling to pay them a visit to voice my anger as this is absolutely appalling and disgusting. To all users out there, AVOID AVOID AVOID, as I never want anyone to experience how I feel right now…

Food never received! The food was late by 20 mins, Rang restaurant, was told it would be 10 minutes late, Rang the restaurant again after 20 minutes and was told they would speak to driver but by this time it’s now 9pm. Sadly it now best part of 2 hours we have been waiting!

Wrong dish was delivered we asked for chicken pasanda and got lamb pasanda

Even though the delivery was slighty late the delivery man who gave a great service apologised and said that the restaurant was really busy. The food was lovely and hot and good sized portions. We will definitely order again.

Food was good except the portions seemed smaller than we've had previously from Haweli plus the nan bread was hard which seemed to be as if it was from yesterday batch and so was stale.

Asked for delivery at 7.30 turned up at 7.25 can't argue with that. Food was hot and delicious and plenty if meat in the curries

First time we have had a takeaway from this restaurant. Every dish was bland. Never had a curry this bad before. Absolutely no taste to anything.

Food wasn’t hot enough and a bit bland

Food was OK taste wise and temperature was hot enough on arrival,. However, not much meat in most curries except in the Balti. Peshawari naan was tasty. Probably we will go back to our usual Indian in the future. (Unsure what is actually asked to be rated under "restaurant service" when leaving a review as we never directly dealt with the restaurant/ never been there)

Food is normally great here, I ordered on New Year’s Eve. Food had no taste like it had been watered down. They forgot my coconut chutney. The only bit of food that was great was the tikka starter 100% recommendations for that dish. The chicken Jalfrezi and the chicken tikka masala was very disappointing. A microwave meal would of had more taste

Understand it was a busy New Year’s Eve so we expected to wait longer than usual but disappointed the quality on the food didn’t make up for it. We had a really watery curry and not very hot either, I would have sent it back but had already waited so long we had to just accept as we was all hungry. I have used this restaurant before just disappointed it didn’t hit the stop this time :(

AVERAGE! nothing special about the food, if it was a good average I’d be eating it the next morning nothing amazing about this food that makes me want to eat the rest tomorrow. Bland. The prawn purée bread was dry along with the naan. Ordered onion barjee & none came, said 40 min to deliver some so waiting on a refund which I doubt will happen, didn’t seem sorry on the phone either, would avoid if your looking for a decent curry we just ate as we were hungry, I was so looking forward to the onion barjee too, so disappointed.

Although it arrived a little late, food was lovely and worth the wait.

This was our go to takeaway but quality of both food and meat has dropped dramatically since our last order. Chicken madras was watery and the meat in the lamb rogan josh didn't taste right at all.

Delivered on time. Unfortunately all of the curries were very watery, flavor was ok. Battered prawn was more batter than prawn.

Cold. Lamb fatty. Burnt naan bread. Rock hard Bombay potato. Plastic in lamb. Stone attached to Naan bread. Restaurant completely unhelpful!

Food arrived 10 minutes early.... the 4 curries were perfect, the Bhajis were soggy... came in a plastic bag but flavour was nice... papadums were forgotten, samosas were soggy also.... was a good meal but maybe consider different packaging

The starters were very good, but the main dishes were not good. The meat was a bit tough and the saag paneer was unlike any I’ve had before - very strange taste.

Hi, we were not happy with the food quality at all. I ordered for Lamb Pasand, I received Chicken pasand. The Roti were all super hard as rock. I also ordered Muttar Paneer and I don’t think that was paneer, paneer do not melt like that, it felt like it was some other cheese. I would like to have a a refund as I was not happy with the order at all!

Was a nice meal and good service only thing was meat portions are a bit on the small side. Otherwise good.

Food arrived on time but the nan bread was cold and burnt also it was very small , ordered chilli chicken it was so so hot I couldn’t eat it and the mushroom Bhaji was also cold very disappointed as usually it’s a fantastic food

Disappointed. Every previous meal we had from Haweli was far better than this one. Very little meat in any of the dishes, dry and tasteless biryani, no complementary poppadums despite spending £55 on the meal. If this had been the first time we ever ordered from them, it would have also been the last.

Disappointed yet again for some reason they keep substituting Choza pakora with onion bhaji. Portions seem to be getting smaller.

Do not bother if u expect your food on time. When we tried to ring they put the phone down on us. What a waste of time and money

Hadn't been here for many years but walked past a couple of weeks ago and thought it looked cosy and liked the decor so decided to go for an early dinner. We were the only ones there! mind you I prefer that to too busy, we had poppadoms, starter and mains with a few sides, all tasty, one starter could have been a bit hotter but overall a pleasant evening.

The dishes were tasty however felt there was a lot of oil in the biriyani.

8 of us went for a meal sat 1st Feb which we all looking forward to very much. All meals were quite bland with no flavour. Side dishes were ok. Too many pilau rices arrived to the table and the boiled rice ordered did not appear. This was very disappointing as we hadn’t seen our friends for some time and this meal spoilt our evening somewhat. Won’t be going there again.

We received the wrong order for one of the mains however what we received was good, though not very warm.

The lamb was very tough and dry, my chicken tikka did not taste like a chicken tikka and was dark red, onion bahjis very oily. Not happy with this food at all.

This is probably no definitely the worst Indian meal and restaurant that I have ever been to, after 40 minutes we got our starters and as there were only 12 people in the restaurant it was obvious that people who ordered takeaway food were given a priority, after finishing our starters and being ignored for the next 20 minutes I ended up clearing the table and taking the plates up to the counter myself, we had to wait a further 40 minutes to get our main meals and they managed to get the rice I ordered wrong, but not only was that part wrong the chicken in the curry was very dry and the whole dish was very bland, after I complained to the manager and pointed out that I had left probably 3/4 of the meal he made a token gesture of not charging for the rice dish which he admitted he had got wrong in the first place as it was New Year's eve we couldn't understand at first why the restaurant was almost empty but after the experience we had we now why, I would not eat there again and nor would I recommend it to anyone else.

Very disappointing, booked early table for two at 7 in case they were busy. After waiting ages to order and having to move tables because I was “ in the way” we still only had starters at 8.15. The main was not fantastic, chicken tikka was dry and the wrong rice was bought out. The prawn biriani was dry, there was no sparkling water and quite frankly the staff didn’t seem o know what they were doing!!! While we were waiting for the main, one waiter apologised for the wait saying they were busy. They were only about 20 customers in there at the time. They did take the cost of the rice off the bill but I believe they were concentrating on take away meals rather than in house. Haweli restaurants were always the place to go but I’m sorry I would not recommend this particular Haweli to anyone and will not be going there again.

Mostly quite nice, but the dhal was absolutely saturated in oil had to throw it away. Naan was delicious

Food was very bland, one dish was supposed to be chicken and lamb but only had chicken in it.

The samosas were a little soggy but everything else was good.

Saturday night is always takeaway night. If we are ordering a curry it will be from here. I’ve lost count of how many times we have used Haweli but we have only good things to say about them. The food is excellent and delivery is fast with friendly drivers.

Very disappointed, pieces of gristle and bone in the butter chicken. Seeing as Just Eat only give certain options for complaining and recommend leaving a review, this is it. Probably won’t order from here again.

Food was delicious. Arrived hot. Order arrived without the poppadoms I’d ordered. Rang up and the staff were extremely helpful, delivered them within 5 mins, extremely apologetic. Very pleased that they came back, never expected that to happen. Have ordered from them before and is consistently good. Will definitely order again

On Saturday, following the cup final, we ordered a takeaway to the tune of approximately £65. Very disappointing. The onion Bahjis were very dry, the Bombay aloo was over cooked so that the potatoes had lost their integrity and were soft and mushy and the naan bread was dry and hard to cut. The rest was merely adequate. Nowhere near the standard of the food in other Halewi’s in the area. Despite its proximity, I don’t think I’ll give them my custom again.

Took about an hour and a half to be delivered to another Morden address, when rung to get eta carried on having a comvosation with his friend after answering was wait about 5 mins listening to them before he acknowledged me!

This was possibly the worst curry I've ever had! The Rogan Josh was just water with no flavour and the chicken was tough. The madras had about 4 chunks of chicken and the rest was just a sloppy mess. Really bad! Most went in the bin

The food was absolutely delicious and arrived early. The only criticism I have is the portion size for the tandoori chicken. For £6.50 I expected a much bigger portion than what I got.

Saag paneer very watery, not what I'm used to. Curry very spicy, almost unnatural. Not really bad, not great. Delivery early, order correct.

Very disapponted with the food. Not everything we ordered was delivered correctly. ‘Matar paneer’ didn’t have any ‘paneer’ in it. Ordered garlic nan but got some sort of sweet nan. Chicken was terrible! Almost 1/4 of the container had oil in it. The curry didn’t taste good as well. Definitely not ordering again!
