Haven Bistro in New Forest

The Haven was recommended and didn't disappoint. Despite blowing a storm which cleared up, the place and views are beautiful. 2 course lunch was superb and well worth the price for portion size and quality. Staff friendly. Great atmosphere. Good mix of all ages from families to couples to singles. Definitely returning and already recommended to others. Thank you.

Lovely weather for the time of year so my wife and I sat outside on the terrace with our dog. Fantastic dressed crab, nice wine and pleasant, friendly, professional staff. Will definitely go again if we are in the area.

Excellent. We were celebrating my 70th birthday and my request was seafood and seafront and the Haven delivered in abundance. From some of the reviews I was not sure what to expect. The food was excellent, the service was very good. I would certainly recommend the crayfish linguini and return again if I am in the area. Thank you to the Haven Bar and Restaurant

Had a very nice meal here in the evening. Quick and efficient service. Food arrived promptly and hot. I ordered whole sea bass, which was enormous and perfectly cooked. The only downside was that it was smothered in capers when the menu said caper butter! Generally a very good meal and a pleasant atmosphere.

I love oysters. I eat a lot. I have them whenever and wherever i can. i was at a Beaulieu event and googled the nearest option for oysters. The Haven website boasted how good their seafood was. I booked a cab to travel 20 minutes to enjoy a quick lunch. Just in time for strict last orders I ordered a dozen oysters. I added bread and butter (essential!) as that was extra. To my horror they arrived with each one smothered with shallot vinegar! Smothered to the extent that you couldn't taste an oyster, just vinegar. I questioned the waitress, she said that is what is says on the menu. I asked for the manager . She said that is what is says on the menu - a teaspoon of shallot vinegar!! She offered to pass my comments on to the staff! I said 'how does that help my dissatisfaction' She shrugged her shoulders. I checked the wording of the menu. "Jersey oysters with shallot vinegar and lemon" Usual description? No mention of a whole teaspoon already on the oyster; removing my choice of seasoning. ( I prefer a slight squeeze of lemon and a hint of black pepper) The lemon was there but they had't squeezed that on! Never in my life...I can't believe this is usual standard but perhaps I am wrong. No taste? No care? No tradition? No interest? No je ne sais quoi? Just hamburgers and fried fish? You can get that anywhere.

Amazing service - and brilliant for a large gettogether. We had a family dinner for 20, including children, and they went above and beyond to make it a brilliant night. Millie in particular was so helpful in coordinating everything - from the booking to the menu choices. The food was delicious too, and it's a lovely setting - especially on a summer's eve. Highly recommend.

Had been a few times for drinks and experienced both good and bad service. Great to see staff enjoying each others company, but if two guests are sat at the bar for 5 mins before you ask if they would like a drink, then that is not good. Anyway, the lunch service was fine and the food was more than fine. Whitebait is often overcooked - not here. Scallops perfectly cooked as well. linguini and mushroom risotto both huge and full of flavour. Nice location and nice food.

we came to The Haven for a special birthday lunch. we were a party of 16, including six young children and we had two dogs with us. We were very well looked after, the service was friendly and the food was excellent. we even had a special ice-cream with a birthday candle! The Haven is well located at the edge of the Marina providing a lovely outlook from the restaurant.

The Haven is a lovely venue with stunning views and amazing food. The staff are always extremely friendly and helpful. We came for breakfast this time and the food was as good as always. Luckily we are local so will be back again :)

Have to say we were disappointed with a predictable menu and average plates of food. It’s pricey, £25 for a bowl of moules marinier is expensive by any standards and the bugger was a very sad looking, unloved burger and very dry. I had the green sage, garlic and Stilton risotto which should be silky and the grains identifiable but it was just a plate of green mush really, and very salty ! The staff were friendly and I can imagine it’s a pretty spot on a summers eve. I’ll probably go back to try the cocktails but not the food at the prices they charge for what’s delivered. Probably better places to eat in lymkngton and the new forest area.

The Haven looked after 14 of us for an 80th birthday lunch. Table was great overlooking the marina. Everyone was complementary on the food they chose, which was pre-ordered from a limited menu due to numbers. Service was excellent and included birthday candles on dessert and staff singing happy birthday. Excellent occasion all round.

Another fab lunch at the Haven - we are regulars so come frequently … service always super friendly even if it’s busy - & we love being able to bring our dog into the Snug area Food consistently good - we love the hearty sandwiches & chips!
