Haven Bistro in New Forest

we came to The Haven for a special birthday lunch. we were a party of 16, including six young children and we had two dogs with us. We were very well looked after, the service was friendly and the food was excellent. we even had a special ice-cream with a birthday candle! The Haven is well located at the edge of the Marina providing a lovely outlook from the restaurant.

The Haven is a lovely venue with stunning views and amazing food. The staff are always extremely friendly and helpful. We came for breakfast this time and the food was as good as always. Luckily we are local so will be back again :)

Wow what a lovely place great views great staff and superb food. Would definitely recommend this place . The fish was so fresh and tasty. Only poor point was the coffee beans tasted burnt.

Have to say we were disappointed with a predictable menu and average plates of food. It’s pricey, £25 for a bowl of moules marinier is expensive by any standards and the bugger was a very sad looking, unloved burger and very dry. I had the green sage, garlic and Stilton risotto which should be silky and the grains identifiable but it was just a plate of green mush really, and very salty ! The staff were friendly and I can imagine it’s a pretty spot on a summers eve. I’ll probably go back to try the cocktails but not the food at the prices they charge for what’s delivered. Probably better places to eat in lymkngton and the new forest area.

The Haven looked after 14 of us for an 80th birthday lunch. Table was great overlooking the marina. Everyone was complementary on the food they chose, which was pre-ordered from a limited menu due to numbers. Service was excellent and included birthday candles on dessert and staff singing happy birthday. Excellent occasion all round.

I visited The Haven for a date, and Wow doesn't give this place Justice! Greeted by a smiling welcoming Team, with great knowledge, a very professional and high standard. The food was exquisite, obviously freshly caught and prepared by very talented chefs, I have the Hake which melted in my mouth with every element of the dish complimenting perfectly. Although, I found out while I was there my date doesn't like fish. While I loved every aspect of the meal and atmosphere created by the wonderful staff. As I live just north of London, I was expecting an expensive meal for the level of professionalism and delectable food, although to my surprise, the menu is very reasonably priced. I would Completely recommend paying a visit to The Haven and I will be visiting the next time in the area.

Visited one late September evening for dinner. Have walked passed this place so many times and never twigged it was a restaurant!!!!! Was recommended by a fellow guest where I was staying in Lymington so thought I’d try it. Really friendly welcome to me and my dog. We sat outside with a drink watching the last of the sun and the boats sailing by - was lovely and relaxed. They don’t serve food outside but had some lovely olives. Went inside for dinner - decor is really nicely done - the cute clouds are really cool!!!! It was fairly busy so nice atmosphere but not loud or over bearing. Menu is really nice with plenty to choose from. I went for scallops to start and hake for main. A side of chips as I could resist! Both were really delicious - perfectly cooked and the chips were really good too! I could of eaten it all over again!!! If you like fish and seafood then this is a place for you although they did have meat and veggie options too. Service was really friendly and efficient all evening and I had a thoroughly nice time! Can’t believe I haven’t been before. Will definitely be a firm favourite now. It’s probably about a 15/20 min walk from the town but quite a nice walk but there is parking right in the marina if you don’t want to/can’t walk that far or the weather isn’t great. Well worth a visit - highly recommend.

Lovely place to eat out as a couple but we were stuck near to a large loud table. My food was good but my husband’s steak was over cooked and we had to send it back. This isn’t second time here as the first time was superb. My husband’s first time and his experience means he will not return.

We have enjoyed going to The Haven on numerous occasions. The staff are always friendly. The food in general is good but on this occasion it was not. The whitebait was overcooked and dry. The cauliflower puree with the scallops and fish was more like a watered down white sauce. We will return as we like to support local restaurants and hope the chef was just having a bad day!
