Great food. Desserts especially (milk cake and biscoff French toast). Toastie was nice. Not what the photo on the menu shows but nice. Generous portion sizes for the price. Very pleasant, chatty and attentive young staff (apart from one who seemed to think that asking for an extra plate was a total inconvenience, tutted as she walked away and had to be asked three times for a glass of water). £3.40 for a small, not very hot cup of tea was a bit much. Manager was exceptionally nice and very good with all the patrons. He made us sit back down as we were leaving when he discovered it was my birthday. Arranged a huge sparkler and chocolate dipped strawberries while the whole restaurant sang happy birthday. Very embarrassing! Definitely worth a visit.

We really enjoyed it! The staff were amazing, very attentive and went out of their way to help (birthday surprise and all!). The food was delicious and looked amazing same for the drinks. Visited for breakfast , food was excellent .We had avocado / eggs and the full English . Staff were extremely nice too . All in all a really nice place for breakfast and we will be back . Thanks to all .

My Partner & I had the waffles each, massive portion, couldve easily have shared one. Very tasty, decor is lovely - a nice place to go for a treat as quite pricey! Would defo return though.

A very disappointing visit. Slow service, cold savoury food. My 5 year old son enjoyed the chocolate shot and waffles but it’s very over rated! Won’t be rushing back - lots of other much better places to eat in St James Quarter.

As usual an amazing visit today. Despite it being exceptionally busy we were promptly seated and well looked after. We’ve now tried quite a few things from the menu and not been disappointed with any of them. Staff are always friendly and helpful and only too happy to explain menu items to you. We will be back!

FABULOUS! We went in without a booking on New Years Eve but they found a table and looked after us very well. The food was excellent, one complaint was they would not allow any small change from the menu i.e. I asked for a croissant in place of sour dough bread and they said NO. Brioche instead of the bread-NO! Never mind, my husband gave me his croissant!!!

From the moment we entered we were treated well,my friend and I went about 10.30am so it was quiet. We took a little while to decide what to have but server was fine with this. We opted for cappuccino and houmous and a hot chocolate. Server brought it promptly and it was all lovely. The place is situated upstairs at the end row of restuarants. It was quite busy by the time we left and seemed to cater for everyone.

Came here quite a few times and really liked the place but today’s visit was a disaster. Asked for a dairy free avocado on sourdough- came with hollandaise, and the waitress didn’t even know it does contain quite a bit of butter so my boyfriend was eating alone while i waited for my food to be remade, we also had pancakes after our savoury, I asked for the pistachio ones and was told it couldn’t be made dairy free - no problem, went for vegan ones with maple instead. Just to be charged for the pistachio ones in the end? While the pancakes i actually had were cheaper than the one i asked for at first- the “manager” refused to change it saying it was from an old menu and he doesnt have an option for it? As an apology we received chocolate covered strawberries- sweet but they were definitely not dairy free. Also with my tea i received regular milk without any alternative? This is absolutely ridiculous as I do also work in a restaurant where allergies, intolerances or even any requests are being treated way more serious than at this restaurant. Nothing but ridiculous and unacceptable.

A very indulgent dessert restaurant which is has lovely decor and a very good menu. They do have a very good vegan menu, but I would take this with a pinch of salt and double check when your food comes that it is the vegan version. Unfortunately I ordered a vegan milkshake with a vegan ice cream sunday and the drink was not vegan once it arrived at the table. I’m unsure if it was a kitchen error or waitress error, but I had to try the cream before realising. Luckily I didn’t drink any either. I have a mild-moderate milk allergy, so this caused me to be in pain for a couple of weeks following my visit, however I am kicking myself for not mentioning that it was an allergy. I usually say I am vegan to avoid the cross-contamination discussion, which I am ok with. I assumed they would have been more careful to ensure my meal was vegan, as I remember being very clear that I was ordering vegan items as I know they offer non-vegan items with the same names. However, we visited the day before this and were very pleased with the experience. The staff were extremely helpful and the food was lovely, hence the second visit. Just be careful when visiting if you have dietary requirements.

This place was an absolute dream 😍! Took my partner here for her birthday. This place is outstanding. The venue itself is beautiful. The deserts and drinks look out of this world and taste gorgeous. The food arrived so quick too! The person greeting the tables and working the floor was incredible and done such an amazing job with everyone.

Amazing experience!!!! Stunning desserts! Presentation and taste was 10/10 The menu looked like a piece of art, lots of cool options. Had white chocolate shots - FANTASTIC! Literally it’s gooey white chocolate in a shot glass. You can’t find that elsewhere! My family had the waffles and the cookie dough. The strawberry milkshake might just be the best milkshake I have ever had. Very thick and sweet. So good Decor is lovely inside, very modern and chic, with cool lighting, and we had a window view that looked out to Edinburgh. The glassware and all the finer details were on point too. Fab experience was absolutely stuffed by the end of it… I could barely move out my chair. If you have a sweet tooth, this is the place for you! Will return for sure 👌

Huge range of desserts on the menu, something for everyone. I had the biscoff French toast and my husband had the chocolate explosion. Both very good. Service was quick and friendly. Only given it 4 stars as it is very expensive for what you get.

We went with friends for birthday celebrations. The waitress and waiter sang happy birthday and came with surprise sparklers it was a very nice experience. Not to mention the interior, the menu, the cleanliness, everything was just perfect the best restaurant I’ve ever been in! A waitress in particular called Lisa went totally above and beyond to make sure we had a good night and took some amazing pictures of us. She was amazing!! Thank you Lisa
