Harvey Browns Cafe in Isle of Wight

I really enjoyed my trip to Harvey Brown's farm shop. There was a variety of different types of produce. The shop assistants were very helpful too. The cafe had a nice atmosphere but I could only buy olives as a savoury snack.

Arrived at cafe at 11.45am missed breakfast menu that finished at 11am only a few cakes left, no savoury. Set meal Lunch didn't start till 12... at 11.55 they wouldn't take lunch order so had to queue again at 12pm. There was no heating in our area so sat in our coats. Food arrived £19 for a roast and was luke warm at best cold within a min. I had lentil and sweet potato curry which was like lentil soup. Too watery to eat with knife and fork. No rice or bread with it so had to order fries total £18. Food was Ok not worth the money, service very bad, won't be going back.

Large indoor market specializing in an impressive selection of good quality local produce. Very well arranged and displayed for optimal shopping experience, clean. Cafe has a menu to satisfy all tastes it seems , it states all food is freshly cooked. Unfortunately we ate prior to arrival here. Huge parking lot directly nearby.

I have visited Harvey Browns several times. It's a lovely place to visit for a cup of tea and coffee meeting friends and catch up. However plenty of cakes to choose from but NO savoury type foods to go with the tea and coffee. Come on Harvey Browns not everyone likes cakes or has a sweet tooth any chance of a savoury accompaniment?

Turned up today and arrived at 11.04 for breakfast and went to order 3x breakfast and the lady was very rude!!! I get they has to be a cut of point but for 4 minutes to turn down around £50. They don't serve lunch till 12 so a hour to sit around, however if they wasn't so rude we may have stopped and had a drink however we left. Very disappointed with the attitude towards new customers.

I really like Harvey Browns cafe and have used it quite a lot, however today I ordered a dish which I had before and thoroughly enjoyed. Avocado on Sourdough with spinach, and mushroom, which as shown on the menu, should have included chilli, mint and garlic.....only it didn't. At a cost of £14.50 including a black decaf Americano it was very disappointing.

We've not been here before so decided to pop over and give its go. First impressions were nice although the planters were a bit dowdy outside. The staff were quite miserable we thought and the atmosphere was quiet. We thought the menu looked different if a little pricey. We ordered and it looked good however our chicken had pieces that were red an undercooked so we had to send it back. The waitress was kind and pleasant and changed it for another. It wasn't as I expected as I'd heard good reviews previously. The shop was nice with some interesting things but again pretty expensive for what it was. Nobody looked happy to be there overall which was a shame. Will I go again? I'm not sure

Whilst staying on IOW we visited this unusual restaurant/farm shop and were very impressed. The choice was impressive, good quality and they were very happy to help with guest who had serious allergies. Afterwards, a visit to the shop is t9 be recommended!

Was intrigued as heard some lovely things, was not disappointed with the shop and butchers. Brought some mustard sausages, cant wait to cook them. The butcher talked me through some of the meats available, really knowledgeable. Not cheap, but on par with island produce. Setting and views are wonderful and I cant wait to visit in the summer. We did not eat, as it was a little cold in the cafe for me today, but will return when a little warmer.

Visited the farm shop and cafe last week. Genuinely impressed with the new, bright and airy space. Lots of parking and the staff were friendly.

We have not tried the cafe yet, but their range of food products is excellent and quite reasonable in price

As islanders we are so lucky to have this restaurant and farm shop. We have had lunch twice in the last two weeks. The menu is so good we had to come back for the second choice! Very high standard of food and very nice, attentive staff. We have bought meat and vegetables from the shop too. Congrats to all the staff for making this a gem of a venue!

Absolutely fantastic food, full of flavour. Over 2 weeks we visited for lunch and breakfast, both were delicious. The coffee is the best we’ve had on the island so far. Staff were very attentive and polite. Cafe is comfortable, spacious and has a nice vibe about it. Had a walk around the shop, everything is so beautiful displayed and very reasonably priced. Can’t wait to visit in the summer, the views are stunning. The only point I would make would be it’s quite cold in there, so put an extra jumper on!

We popped into the cafe today had the fig snd blue cheese salad it was ok but for £12 very small ,not good value at all ,shame really could have been so much better

We have eaten here before and the food had been good. This time we all had roast lunches. We were very disappointed with the meals overall. The roast potatoes were over cooked and hard, the cauliflower in the cauliflower cheese was not cooked and raw and also was partly broccoli not cauliflower but also raw. Al dante is good but this was raw / uncooked. We had to ask for more gravy, the little jugs that were served weren’t even half full. The roast beef was good but not hot. Unfortunately the plates and most of the food was at best lukewarm. Horseradish sauce had no flavour or taste. The service was acceptable, but the quality of food for the price was not acceptable. Would not recommend this for Sunday roast meals
