We were a party of 16 and Michelle and the team couldn't have been more helpful even putting up some balloons for the 80th birthday we were in Giggleswick to celebrate. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. Would highly recommended if you are in the area.

Fantastic meal. Great starters, absolutely fresh and those of us who chose pies found they were the real thing, individually made with pastry top and bottom and delicious fillings whether vegetarian or meat. The garnish was also very fresh and tasty. The child meal was obviously a triumph as nothing was left of a generous portion.

Most of the pubs in the area stop serving food around 8pm so we were pleased when we called and they said they would accommodate us for dinner at 8:30. Very welcoming and friendly staff and food a cut above the usual pub fare. The scotch egg starter was outstanding. We didn’t stay overnight but from what we could tell it looked like a good place to stay for exploring the dales.

On a very busy Saturday evening featuring a major football game when the place was buzzing, we had a reservation for seven people. Despite that the staff were very pleasant, helpful and made sure we were comfortable. The food was delicious and we were all choosing different dishes. We were not hurried and were last leave the restaurant. I would like to thank all the staff for their patience and profession approach.

Initial thoughts on the menu were positive. As a vegan family it was encouraging to see a broad range of vegan options with good labelling too (Vg). It's therefore assumed that if something doesn't have Vg as an indicator on such a comprehensive menu then indeed it isn't suitable for vegans. This being the case, there were zero vegan desert options. Why you'd offer a Vegan Nut Roast, Vegan Buttermilk Burger, and a Vegan Sweet Potato and Baby Sweetcorn Curry (to name a few) but no complimentary desert options I just don't understand. Sadly the waitress didn't know what the Vegan soup offering was and after leaving for 5 minutes to find out returned to tell us what the vegetarian soup was. It turns out that indeed there was no vegan option. After placing our order the waitress returned to advise that they had run out of nut roast. Not a major issue but it's expected that the kitchen keeps the waiting staff abreast of what is and isn't available. We ordered a Buttermilk Burger and two Small Sized Sweet Potato and Baby Sweetcorn Curries. The burger was dry, and certainly would have benefited from some extra mayo and cheese. But it's was okay. For this dish priced at £14 I'd mark it just a 6/10. It can certainly be improved upon. The curries were for my 9 year old twins. Both complained that it was too spicy. Given this was (not from a children's menu) a smaller portion it can be assumed that it's ideal for a child. I think the chef could be more considerate to the fact that this might be for a child. I don't like waste so I ate their two curries and actually, whilst spicy, it was delicious. For taste it scores an 8/10 but for the overall experience of this dish (too spicy for children) it scores just a 6/10. At £8.75 I think this was actually reasonable value for money. Overall a good meal and a nice place to visit. I hope the chef makes small but meaningful improvements to the menu.

Welcoming and tasty Almost drove by this hidden gem; warm welcome on arrival by the young barman. Swiftly seated by I presume the floor manager (Michelle - blonde hair) who was a very nice lady. Easy to communicate with and prompt. Atmosphere is very warm, cosy, plenty of couples or families eating and drinking. Highly recommend booking a table if you can; we were lucky to sneak a space before their mad rush. Cleanliness is key for me and I cannot fault this place. We ordered steak and ale pie, pepperoni pizza & fries… zero complaints - pizza was cooked perfectly, the steak pie was succulent with perfectly cooked veg/chunky chips. Got talking to the young barman who had recently taken on his role, a pleasant and helpful guy whom will be an asset within time. Thank you and see you again soon.

Called in for a quick lunch, have been a few times and never had a bad experience. Welcome was warm, Denise was a trouper, decor is lovely, ate in the dining room, spacious but cosy, plenty privacy between tables - a nice atmosphere. Bar and dining sides. Mix of locals and a handful of visitors. Opted for 2 mains, fish and chips, and steak and ale pie. Both were great - fish huge, chips, side of peas and tartar, all very good, the steak pie I had was gorgeous - best had in ages - chips, veg, extra gravy, all delicious. And great value for money. Left pleasantly stuffed and must make an effort to pop in more often! Thanks all.

Nice concise menu. My wife had the Satay Skewers to start with. They came served on a nice bed of mixed salad. I had the Belly Pork with apple sauce, black pudding and a celeriac remoulade. The pork was unctuous and had proper crackling and lovely apple sauce. We both had the steak and ale pie and what a pie it was. Served in it's own baking tin with crispy fries and a selection of vegetables, plus a separate pot of gravy. What a treat to have a proper pie! It was full of steak and in a delicious sauce. A reasonably priced bottle of Chablis helped it down. The only criticism is that the seating throughout was very hard but could not fault the food.

Delicious gluten free meal here tonight. Several options for starters, mains and desserts which is not usually the case when you are a coeliac! I chose the spicy cauliflower starter and the chicken supreme ( with a delicious mushroom, leek and white wine sauce) mashed potato and asparagus and my husband had the steak and ale pie, large portion and also delicious he tells me. Unfortunately I didn’t have room for a dessert but will definitely be going back before we return home. Staff were friendly and obliging as well.

We eat here a couple of months ago when the new Chef launched the Sunday Lunch Platter for two and boy were we not disappointed - just the best Sunday Lunch we have had in Settle/Giggleswick since we moved here 10years ago. Such good value for what you get - quality ingredients, perfectly cooked (we like our Beef pink - so we were very happy - but I'm sure if you wanted "over-cooked" they will oblige!) Also 1/2 Roast Chicken and Loin of Pork. Crispy Roast Potatoes, Fresh Veggies and Great Yorkshire Puddings with plenty of good gravy! Couldn't eat it all and our appetites are good! Certainly recommending and would go back to try the A la Carte on another day/night for sure. Well Done it's spot on.

The night before, we'd eaten in a very expensive chain in Leeds city centre and came away totally underwhelmed. To arrive in this peaceful and charming setting, to be welcomed so warmly and to enjoy such well executed food was a complete contrast to the previous night's disappointment. The lack of pretence and the precision in the cooking mark this restaurant's quality.

Called in for an evening meal, very quiet, and the only ones eating. Quick friendly service, but not nice to have someones Labrador dog fussing round the table when there to dine. Food order came wrong even though as said, we were the only ones eating, and then the pie wasn't cooked, the pastry was raw. Explained about the raw Pie, and was told they would tell the chef, that was it. Poor food, and no apology really. In all a poor experience.

My wife and I decided to have Sunday lunch at the Hart after it was recommended to us. Even though there were only two options on the traditional Sunday menu we decided to stay and try them. I had the Lamb and my wife had the Beef. When the meals came the vegetables on the plate were aldente baby carrots and what looked like broccoli stalks. Two small roast potatoes, mashed potato and a Yorkshire pudding and gravy. The Lamb was cooked but the Beef was rare to medium. My wife had quite a bit of trouble cutting it up. She enjoyed the dessert ( Chocolate Waffle and ice-cream) but that was all.The Hart is dog friendly and spacious with a beer garden and children's play area in the garden.I wouldn't recommend it.

We were staying just a short walk from here so popped in on our final full day to enjoy the Sunday roast. It was really lovely, as was the Malbec to wash it down with. On entering the establishment, we were met by a queue of people waiting to be served at around 5pm. There was only one person on the bar and until a second appeared we felt that time was not on our side, however the second staff member was quite efficient and served the remaining person before asking us what we wanted. The choice of drinks was quite adequate and my wife thought the Sauvignon Blanc was especially nice. We chose the vegetarian options for our meal, a beetroot and red onion tart for my wife with a rocket salad and new potatoes and a Mediterranean vegetable wellington for me with potatoes and a creamy mushroom sauce. They were both very nice and although not a huge amount on the plates, plenty for us. It was served in a perfectly agreeable timescale and with a friendly demeanour. I would recommend the restaurant here but it is not at the cheaper end of the price range.

Very pretty location although it was raining on our visit. Only downside was that although there where only us and another couple we waited over an hour for our food but this was because our young waitress was on a trial and forgot to send it through. On the plus we got a round of free drinks. So no complaints. Nice staff very friendly and a lot of choice on the menu so I recommend a visit.

Nestled in the stunning Dales countryside, Harts Head offers a good range of mains at upper mid prices, but the quality is good - portions maybe a tad modest. Haddock had feather light batter with excellent chips + mushy peas, vegan beetroot red onion tart also very tasty but too small. Very good local ales too, and helpful bar staff who offered a free half pint of a brew we had not tried. Would go again.

We were rather disappointed with the quality of the food we were offered on our visit to this highly recommended restaurant. Had we not been guests of our host we would have sent one of the dishes back as the meat balls were hard and grossly overcooked, lacking in any flavour at all.Whilst the service was well fronted the fact that the pizzas came in fits and starts and were not served at the same time as the rest of the orders was a little strange. We will give it the benefit of the doubt this time but the management should realise that one bad meal can turn a lot of people off. Lets hope we are luckier next time.

Having never visited Settle before, and indeed never the Harts Head Hotel, we saw the positive reviews of the place and thought it would be a nice meal out. While the burger was good, as well as fairly good service, the lack of food that was actually available (“sorry, we don’t have that”) and highly over-cooked meatballs was disappointing to say the least. Prices were also too high for the overall quality of the food.Overall, a shame, but I hope they were just having an off-day.

The service was excellent and although quite young they were friendly and professional. It is well laid out without too many covers spoiling the atmosphere. The beers were good if a tadge expensive. We had steaks(x3) with chips and green salad. Excellent meat well cooked to our choice. One Lamb shank which again was delicious. The two ladies had the rhubarb crumble, which they both said was exceptional. About £25.00 a head, but well worth it. ¿qué no?

He comido en lugares de todo el Reino Unido y Europa. No volvería para una comida, pero es un buen sitio para tomar una copa. Lugares mejor localmente para comer bien

It is some years since we visited the Harts Head Hotel which was at that time ,a not too special local pub and dining venue, but our recent visit has seen this easily reachable hotel , become another very good multi shades of grey restaurant The Manager goes out of his way to make you welcome and the staff are helpful and smiling . The menu is limited but what is on offer is all good, The steak and ale pie, the Risotto, the Rack of lamb all well cooked and served and the cost well within local cost ranges, altogether a worthwhile experience and the newly installed company who have breathed new life into this pub are to be congratulated and supported. Well done

Food was very good but so noisy. Don't know if it's the lack of curtains or what the reason is but the noise is overwhelming making the whole experience uncomfortable.

Espero volver pronto.

The Hart's Head has recently come under new management. The hotel had a good reputation and now is going from strength to strength. We had Sunday lunch and it was excellent. The food was of restaurant quality, the service was very friendly and very good. Highly recommended.

We had a business meeing at a large house close by that did not fit all the party in. Two of us both ladies stayed here for the evening. We both had very large and very clean rooms, they even smelt clen as you walked in. I had a double room with a nice bright ensuite, tv, fridge, coffee makig facilities. Plenty of plug sockets, mirrors and lights. Staff were lovely and helpful and the breakfast was lovely and cooked to order. We did not have an evening meal there as we ate with the others at the house but we would definitely not hesitate to stay here again and would definitely recommend to others.

We know this part of the Yorks Dales well but the Harts Head was unknown territory. Needed overnight accommodation at short notice. Must be honest we'd tried three other places first, all fully booked. We took the last room available, a front facing family sized room, a double bed and the biggest bunks ever. The room was basic and rather dated. We found having only one chair on the downside. Bathroom, towels, bed linen and so on were clean and good quality. The shaving light above the bathroom mirror did not work, a minor point. The staff were polite and profession, the food dinner and breakfast, both cooked by Barbera the licencee were tasty and well cooked. My wife thought the burger somewhat tasteless, it was beef. It's position in Giggleswick part of the lovely market town of Settle was excellent. There is not much passing traffic overnight due to an efficient bypass. Parking is easy, a large private car park was available. As a basic B&B it is recommended, excellent for touring the Dales. On the ground floor is their resturaunt and a busy popular pub.

Very friendly atmosphere and very efficient staff. I hadn't booked a table for Saturday evening but still was shown a table; it may be advisable to book in advance. Be prepared to wait for your meal as everything is prepared and cooked to order. The Hart's Head serve good food at very reasonable prices. The restaurant is very good, I can also imagine that the accommodation is equally good. Very close to the scenic attractions of the Yorkshire Dales and other nearby towns.

The food here was absolutely awful. The burgers tasted off and were drowned in fat and the chips again felt so fatty. Incredibly disappointed after looking forward to the meal all day. The waiters serving however were very attentive but after the food we didn't want to stick around and left promptly. Will not be returning unfortunately.

Not the first time we’ve visited here. But it’s been a while and the new landlady really seems to be making a difference.Excellent choice of local real ales. Warm and friendly welcome to four legged friends too.Good beer garden at the rear. Although just out of Settle it’s well worth a 10 minute walk.

What a lovely little pub/restaurant in the beautiful little village of Giggleswick, which is just a 10 minute stroll form Settle. The service, ambience and food are all faultless. And very well priced too!

Three hungry cyclists on the Way of the Roses cycle way (Morecambe to Bridlington) really enjoyed the food at this locally-recommended pub just off the route, and the well-described choice of ales. Try the Lamb Henry, especially if you're cycling up the bill hill east of Settle. Thanks, Hart's Head team! Well done!

Stayed at The Lister Arms for a couple of nights mid week. We stayed in the Lister Barn which is a 2 minute walk from the actual pub. Cosy and warm, tastefully decorated with lovely toiletries - a real gem of a place. The main pub is really cosy, with a gorgeous fire burning all day and evening. Breakfast and dinner here were both really good with large portions. Lots of dogs inside the bar area too which was lovely. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely return.

Fantastic place. Roll with bacon and sausage was lovely. Really good quality ingredients and perfectly cooked. Friendly staff and great atmosphere. I've been coming here on caving trips for 25 years and always either start or finish the day in Inglesport. Love it. The only thing I'd say... bring back the pints of tea!!! And please don't ever stop doing the tiffin, it is the best on the planet.

After driving around the Yorkshire Dale's, we were in need of a drink and snack. We came across this lovely little tearoom and we weren't disappointed, quirky and quaint I would say, very friendly, great value for money too.

On arrival the pub does not inspire confidence in the quality of food - but it was really very good. I was dubious about the sizes of sunday roasts after reading a previous review - and to be fair, the plates do not arrive loaded with masses of veg or mash. However, we all left feeling satisfied and it really felt like well prepared, high quality food. The steak and ale pie, and steak and ale yorkie had the same filling, which was superb.
