A lovely village pub serving a fantastic Sunday roast. It is always cooked to perfection.

A very nice friendly pub which I will be visiting this time. I didn't have food this time but probably will next time.

Good pub, nice open fire, good food and beer and at very reasonable prices. Very friendly, we will be back.

Food was reasonably priced and staff attentive. Pub was a bit on the quiet side for a Saturday evening, but this may be a sign of the cost of living.

Stopped in on a Sunday after a round of golf down the road. Hadn't made a booking but it was fairly quiet. Service was good and quick. We had two Roasts which were excellent. Portions were generous. Meat was of great quality, plenty of gravy. 2 pints and 2 roasts for less than £40. Can't complain

Had a couple of drinks and a meal here tonight after dropping our daughter at UEA. Very friendly and helpful landlord / lady. Very good three course meal from an unusually varied menu. Extremely reasonable price, certainly by Kent standards, just a bit sad to see so few people in a good local pub on a Saturday night.

Lovely warm welcome. Lovely lady who greeted us was friendly and helpful too. Lovely food and reasonably priced too. Will go again to try the roast.

We went on Saturday night and had a lovely meal. The ribeye steak was cooked to perfection. Thanks to all at the Harte!

Took our Aunt out for a meal with my sister. The food was fantastic. There was a great menu to choose from. Staff were very friendly. Good choice of beers too.

Popped in a couple of times as I was living local for a short time - like lovely people running the pub , made to feel very welcome - nice selection of beers , wines and ciders , great food - loved the selection of music ! Will pop in each time I'm in the area !

I've been a few times, partner always here for drinks. Always a friendly welcome, food very nice and hot, would highly recommend for Sunday roasts and Christmas, desserts are amazing. Plenty of parking, dog friendly, warm and friendly atmosphere. Can't go wrong!

Would have been 5 but I've visited twice now, the Sunday roast is AMAZING! but...it was cold, so last time sent it back and it was heated up, lovely, same thing again if you want hot food, make sure to say I want it HOT I like my food steaming and served on cold plates doesn't help, but the food was delicious and wont stop me coming back but hubby liked it.

UPDATE So having had such a lovely time we returned a couple of weeks later for another Sunday roast, this time I had the chargrilled roast chicken and it was amazing, we all know chicken can taste bland, but not this, it had that smoky chargrilled look and taste and it complimented the roast so well, then we both went for the "Kringle Crumble", (Cinnamon and apple crumble with home made custard.) I am of the opinion this was not actually made in the Haarte, I strongly suspect it was made in heaven by angels and delivered to the Haarte as it was without a doubt the most amazing pudding I have ever tasted. The service was also great, the hosts really appear to enjoy their work. Top marks to them and the Chef. Original review Having just moved into the area , we thought that we would try out our new local and have Sunday lunch and a couple of drinks on a wet October day. Parking was as easy as it was free in their car park, on entering the pub we were warmly welcomed and asked to sit down and asked what drinks we would like? ( I can highly recommend the Adnams dry hopped lager, which was amazing) as it was a Sunday, all 4 of us ordered a roast (3x chargrilled chicken and 1 roast beef), while waiting for the food we admired the decor, which was lovely. The food arrived and I will admit, I was expecting the classic, reheated Sunday pub grub, what we weren't expecting was the very well presented, delicious , highquality fare we received. All 4 of us commented on the quality of the food and we were so impressed we asked to see the dessert menu, and after choosing a jam.sponge, toffee.pudding and then a snickers brownie with ice cream. Again these were amazing. Another round of drinks followed and sadly it was time to leave. The bill was very reasonable and we left happy and satisfied. The chef and waiting staff did an amazing job and well done and thank you to them, a successful business is only as good as its staff. As for the Landlord and Landlady , top marks for the warm welcome, the snazzy shirt and for making a cold, wet autumn day into one we will remember. Highly recommended not only to those in or visiting Costessey but to anyone in the Norwich area looking to enjoy fantastic food, in a great environment with good people. We will return.

Nice and clean, dog friendly pub...but more than a bit soulless. Staff were standoffish and prawn sandwich was mediocre at best. Made with the cheapest of ingredients...and boy did it show !!

We stayed in Costessey and walked to the pub. The food was excellent and the owners and staff very pleasant. We had several lovely meals there during our stay

It's a long time since I visited the Harte. Today, my wife and I had a light lunch and drinks. Excellent! Friendly welcome. Nice food. Well kept ale and reasonable prices. We will return!

Lovely welcome from the landlord and landlady. Amazing Christmas meal, all food plentiful hot and served very well. Also very tasty too! Vegan options worked a treat!! Clean Covid safe environment and some of the cleanest restrooms also worthy of mention. Great large venue with open fire, but with a almost a village pub feel. Easy recommendation for quite, small or large groups.

Been here several times now while visiting friends in the area and it's always a warm, friendly welcome from the village local. Good beers, good food and good atmosphere to go with it.

Very nice Sunday roast. Hot and well presented. But watch the landlord if you like a glass of SAUVIGNON as he has trouble telling the difference between that and a pinot!

Fab beer (I had the Jackal) and lovely food. The peanut butter and chocolate tart was a bit of a surprise knockout (my daughter had it and obviously I had to try….the combination of flavours was something else).

Happy for you to spend £75 a round of drinks in the height of the summer, and then at tea time comes outside and says be quiet cos somebody inside having a glass of water and a pack of crisps

Thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The burger was juicy & full of flavour. Chips were lovely & had a crisp to them & the meal was presented very appealingly.

Hugely improved from how it was a few years back. Clean, not cluttered or over crowded with decent food and good selection of beers.

Did a long walk around Old Costessey today and found this lovely pub. Went in for a drink to discover a really friendly atmosphere and staff. Going back next Sunday to try the food.

Really great pub, the owners are really friendly and although I don’t go regularly they are always welcoming. Have been here for food a few times and is always superb, always a good selection with specials usually available too. A nice place to be, with parking available too! Would recommend to all.

Lovely warm evening so 5 of us dined at the Harte. Dined alfresco in the beer garden. Very attentive hostess who made many trips to bring us drinks, menus and the meals. Food plentiful and good quality. Had our desserts in the last of the evening sun. All in all a very pleasant dining experience and will definitely come again. Mike Howman 🍴🍸🍺

Nice fire and atmosphere with lovely fopd

Nice place venue with some real ales. Food menu too expensive for the quality and quantity served. When I was asked if the food was OK at the end of the meal I said I was disappointed to have received oven chips, (which tasted dry and like powder). Although he asked for feedback, this was not recieved well by the owner and was very dismissive. Due to the poor attitude I will not be returning to this venue.
