Lunch with my friend today was a very nice experience. We had a lemonade cappuccino, croque monsiuer . Very nicely presented, tasted lovely. Friendly staff. A little gem of a place. We highly recommend

Harriet's has just had just changed its menu from a more extensive food offer to a simpler coffee shop menu of toasties, bagels and pastries. (I think had to happen. Originally, Harriets had a very talented chef working there who offered delightful weekly specials and interesting food that was a cut above. He left a long time ago and they have struggled ever since- when a cheese toastie is a "special" things are not working well.) It's a really good idea and I like the counter display of sandwiches/bagels. It reminds me of London cafes who deal with busy lunch time rushes by prepping everything in advance. It looks lovely. They've chosen interesting combinations and it's not all just bacon baps although they are available too. I do not like the cakes and pastries left exposed on top of the counter. When I was there people were going over to order and leaning over the cakes. In these post covid days it's not great and I would like to see them covered. The coffee was good, the bagel nice. We'd have liked a cake but didn't fancy risking the germs.

Normally, a very good experience, but not today. I went with my daughter and granddaughter and we were not at all made to feel welcome. We were spoken to abruptly and not at all in a friendly way, and told where to sit. Then when ordering at the counter, I was told to not stand where I was standing. Then when I ordered they never had any pannie’s left. I also noticed the floor had not been swept under our table. I felt as if we were an inconvenience and not actual paying customers. Also, it was half empty and so not as if they were in a busy period.

We've just moved to the area and I'm trying out every coffee shop around. So, first visit to Harriet's and the girls were friendly and made us 2 lovely flat whites. We'll be back.

I came in with my daughter for a treat lunch before she starts high school. It was so lovely, we loved the decor! Food and service was perfect too. Thank you!

Dirty glasses, hairs on the chips. Chips were inedible, floor filthy. Had to walk away. From the outside it looks so inviting.

Disappointed with our two latest visits, had a breakfast which both my wife and I didn’t finish as wasn’t great. Hash browns were oily and more like onion bhajis and the eggs were undercooked. The service is not as good as it was the prior year. It’s a shame as I am usually a fan. Hopefully they can address the issues and be back to their best.

Leaving aside the usually excellent Loaded Fries, the homemade Bread Pudding I had for a dessert was really good - just 4 'slabs' left; hurry to get yours!

Ordered poached egg on toast with hash browns. Took over 30 minutes to arrive. Hash browns were shredded potatoes deep fried, so very oily. Two poached eggs, well the toast was ok and one egg looked ok, the other looked as if it had come out of the dustbin with black bits, a hard boiled yoke and no white!! Needless to say I did not eat it. I showed it to the staff and got no reaction!! My question was, how can they allow something of that quality come out of the kitchen?

Great choice of good food, friendly efficient staff, good for brunch or lunch, nice coffee. Outdoor seating area for warm days.

Great spot for lunch. Had avocado and was great and service was brilliant. The coffee was the best in the area too. We will be back.

Harriet’s is a lovely addition to Rustington village. Service is always excellent and members of staff are always very welcoming. Have observed lots of local customers coming in who are known to the team on a first name basis, this is always lovely to see! The food & coffee is delicious! I had the big breakfast and was not disappointed. There is also a lovely selection of homemade cakes, danishes and pastries by the counter. Have only visited twice now but will definitely be coming back!

Fabulous independent cafe that serves a range of breakfast/ brunch and other items. Coffee, Cake and drinks also available. We went for the Hash Brown Stack which was absolutely stunning! Obviously made on site in the kitchen and served with black pudding, avocado and every monthful was delicious. First time in, but will be back without doubt.

I have been here many many times. I tried breakfast which was excellent. Several times lunch ( sandwiches are my faves ). The staff are very friendly and always happy to help. The food delicious and fresh👌 They are really good and worth a try.

The best sausage sandwich I’ve ever had. Quality sausages and fabulous bread. The Chicken Caesar Salad looked good too, so we’ll have that next time.

Me and my boyfriend always go for breakfast and have tried many places in the surrounding area. We have both said Harriet’s is our new favourite! Gorgeous interior and friendly staff too, great choices and everything tasted fresh and delicious. Will definitely be coming again...

Having eaten on several occasions at Harriets we decided to use Harriets for our anniversary party. Harriet, Daz, Katie and the team could not have done more to ensure the party was a success. Friendly attentive staff, beautiful venue and always amazing food. Highly recommend.
