Harrier in Welwyn Hatfield

Popped in this afternoon for some lunch, was served by cassie who greeted us with a smile and was very polite and curtious. We ordered the ultimate roasts and sides , food arrived quickly , good size portions, and was very tasty and good quality for the price . New food and drinks menus available with plenty of choice , would highly recommend.

Since the refurbishment, the management have been trying to force out the locals. They've made it clear they're trying to get rid of the family which was created at this pub, long before management turned up. Trying to turn it into something it'll never be. It was a good local pub but them fundamentals have left. I now drink elsewhere after being made unwelcome so many times

This pub has above average pub food. The food is freshly made no microwave meals here. The home made pizza's are excellent. The service is smooth and the pub staff are very welcoming. I feel very comfortable here and have enjoyed several meals since the rebrand.

Came in for lunch with my friends and oh boy was the burgers good! Especially the maple bacon it’s just super succulent, definitely coming back! Definitely worth coming on Tuesdays as you basically get a free pint with you burger, what a deal!

Will never go back to that place, me and my friend used to go to this pub before the name change. Sadly we've been harassed out the building by staff constantly checking if were up to no good. Throughout the whole time we spent there they stood behind the bar in a bunch and kept staring at us, sometimes the manager ( who lies about his position) would come up to us and accuse us of smoking inside the building which did not happen at all, and by staring at us the whole time I'm sure they knew we did not do, they just wanted us to feel harassed and uncomfortable. We probably did not fit the profile of the new place seeing as everybody else were white... but never would've imagined something like this would happen to customers who did nothing wrong just sat with a drink and talk. Miss the old days, this pub has been ruined.

Friendly sports pub in Hatfield with a very sporty and jovial local crowd.. We happened to watch the Arsenal vs Frankfurt UEFA match... Was quite fun.. The food is decent and good accompanying Ales...

The manager is brill and the food is decent . Turns into another world at night and the locals are extremely clicky . Try to keep your head down . actally i met billy joe sanders in this pub as it is his local .... what a pick

I had been staying at the Hatfield Oak and was unhappy with the food and atmosphere there, so ventured out the Harrier to see if it was any better - and it was. This is not a glamorous, trendy pub,but is a decent local for people on the estate it serves. Tried some of the local beer, which was pretty good. Ordered a sweet potato curry which was very tasty and well presented

I was pleasantly surprised by this pub, I had never been in before but always thought it was a dive - I was wrong! It was a very clean pub, nice decor and friendly staff.

A Friendly bar, with a great roast on a Sunday. I enjoyed the whole experience, the locals are full of character.

We popped into our local on Mothers day for lunch. Carvery served 12 till 1600. We were super impressed,with the great food , every element cooked to sublime perfection by Pete. As always Diana and her team create a warm relaxing vibe in the bar. So if you want a great value for money lunch ! Look no further. Will be back soon.

We booked a large group (15+) Here for a Sunday carvery following a family gathering. From the outside, this place doesn't look much but it is spacious inside. The staff are very friendly, and helpful. The carvery itself was very, very good. Meat was cooked perfectly, lots of choice for veg and the biggest Yorkshire puds I've ever seen. We all thoroughly enjoyed our lunch!

I organised a Christmas party for my colleagues and we had a great time. The food was lovely, the service was impeccable, the staff were attentive in just the right amount. Overall, fantastic value for money!

Had lunch 2 -4- 1 with my sister and her grandson of 22 months. I ordered drinks at the bar and when I asked for a glass of milk, the bar man asked if it was for the little boy. I said it was and he got me a cup of milk with no charge....... When we got our meal the bar man again brought a bowl of chips for the little boy.....very nice experience and thanks for the wonderful service.

Remember the harrier/hilltop pub years ago. unless you were a local you were never seen dead in this place. how times have changed, quite a decent selection of beers and the meals, which are not quite up to gastro pub standards, are excellent value for money. a pleasant surprise

Este pub tiene buen ambiente de las familias solteros y parejas. Situado en la carretera principal nos dirigimos aquí después de ir de compras en la Galleria, lo que se agradece. No demasiado cerca de la estación de Hatfield así que tendrás que coger un taxi. Buenas instalaciones de estacionamiento para la hora elegida de conductor :)

Really high quality ale always available, really friendly and nice staff as well as atmosphere. Food is also spot on, never had a bad meal and portion sizes are more than enough!

I expected ordinary pub-grub, but we were very pleasantly surprised with what we were served. The chicken was well cooked and flavoursome, the chips were fresh (so often restaurant chips are sad) and the wife's fish was far better than we normally get served elsewhere. The quality of food was much better than expected, the Landlady and her husband were sociable and kind, despite having quite a full pub to look after. I don't know why they do it 2.4.1, I'd have thought it was good value at the full price. No hesitation in giving it 5 stars.The only thing wrong with The Harrier is that its so far from where I live (40 miles), so I can't go there more often!

Decided to visit for sunday lunch after reading two recent reviews, we were not disappointed. Chicken and beef were cooked perfectly, my daughter said the potatoes were heaven and we all enjoyed dessert. Fantastic food and service. We have booked for Christmas.

Myself and my fiancé visited today for Sunday lunch and what a treat it was!We both opted for the roast beef dinner which was cooked to perfection, the meat was tender and juicy, the roast potatoes crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and the selection of veg was just right as well as two very tasty Yorkshire puds each! This was then followed by a generous helping of toffee apple pie with custard (all home made!) which was to die for, add to this two pints of superb bitter and you would think the bill would be on the heavy side but the total for this feast came to just £17.00!! As the pub offers 2 for 1 on the meals and the dessert was complimentary this has got to be the best value Sunday lunch in Hertfordshire and the staff led by the incomparable Diana made this a perfect experience. If you want 5 star service, 5 star food and drink but only 2 star prices then head to the harrier. You won't be disappointed!

Do give this a try ! Fantastic Landlady in this 2.4.1 Eatery. very reasonable prices good selection of food and drink and special offers like cheese board with a bottle of wine ! Stonkin offer ! So don't delay check it out :)
