Great stay. Lovely room, only issue was the room temperature couldn't be changed despite numerous attempts. Great facilities in the room though and good shower. Service for dinner by Anya was really good, she kindly went and spoke with the kitchen to cater for what I wanted. Didnt get to sample breakfast as had to leave very early. I'd definitely stay again.

Food was absolutely delicious! Tried a lot on the menu all was fabulous. Our waitress anya was so polite and helpful and very friendly she’s a great asset to the restaurant. Overall very happy. Definitely recommend to anyone . We visited also with children and they enjoyed their food too. You won’t be disappointed.

Have been to this place twice, its a lovely venue to visit with a very cosy atmosphere. The food has been simply amazing on both visits and its well priced for the quality. On both occasions we have been served by the lovely Anya who is very customer focused and exceptional at her job, she always has a chat with my friends and i and its such a pleasure to be served by her. We will be returning again :)

Wow 😍 A chance Find for a stay over in between travelling for work and I have write this review to firstly highly recommend to all and second to express my extreme gratitude to Anya for looking after us and really making us feel Welcome whilst serving our amazing steaks 🥩 😍 she was an absolute delight to speak with and to be served by. we travel the country for work on a daily basis and stay over in many establishments but I can honestly say Harpers Steak house is second to none . Harpers has it all under one roof from the very talented chefs , beautiful comfy rooms and service like it should be where nothing is to much trouble which is very rare nowadays . Harpers steak house sets the standard high in hospitality for others to follow so of course I will conclude by highly recommending to all ! Came to stay here with friends who were running a race locally. The staff were super helpful and kind. Food was brilliant and I was surprised how delicious the vegetarian options were. The rooms were clean and comfortable. If you ever find yourself in need of a room in Haslemere then I highly recommend.

I've been to Harpers a few times as it's local to us. The food is always good and everyone is very friendly. A particular shout out to Anya, the most genuinely nice service I may have ever received. We'd go back again just to chat.

Today, Monday the 8th April I was refused service at the bar by one of the managers. Mel I believe the name to be I showed 2 forms of valid identification and I was still refused service which is outrageous. I work for Fullers at the Bel & Dragon in Churt as their Bar Staff confirming I am over 18 years of age yet I was still turned away. It was absolutely shocking service to see and I am fuming to see the level of disrespect I was shown from this women. Just show how poor the level of service is

Unfortunately, our choice of restaurant for my daughter's birthday dinner turned out to be quite regrettable. We opted for Harper's on Saturday evening, March 16th, as my daughter had her heart set on their burger. Upon arrival, we found ourselves awkwardly lingering at the reception area, waiting to be seated. Despite making eye contact with several staff members, including the manager, nobody bothered to acknowledge us. Eventually, we decided to seat ourselves. Approaching the manager, I politely inquired about grabbing menus since no one had attended to us. She kindly insisted on bringing them to our table herself. However, the lack of attention persisted as we struggled to place our order until I finally managed to flag down a waitress. While the food made its way to our table, it was accompanied by an abundance of inquiries from various staff members about our satisfaction, which felt a bit excessive given the prior neglect. When we finished our desserts, we waited in vain for the bill. Eventually, we gave up and had to settle our payment at the bar, where again, no staff members were readily available. The staff's only attentiveness seemed to coincide with the presence of food on our table (the time when we needed them the least) while neglecting us when we needed assistance with seating, ordering, and paying. Despite the efforts of one friendly waitress, it wasn't enough to salvage the overall poor service. It was disheartening, especially on such a special occasion. Additionally, it's worth noting that Harper's automatically includes a service charge, leaving patrons with no choice but to tip regardless of the quality of service received. As for the food itself, while it was decent, it certainly didn't justify the price tag, especially given the poor service experience. It's disappointing because we had previously enjoyed dining at Harper's, being conveniently located near us. However, based on this experience, we have no plans of returning.

We come here a fair bit and we really like it, we often get great service and the food is solid. Today, our server, Ben, was absolutely top draw, he made my son and I feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble - he really made our night.

The steak was huge and tasted very nice. Good with the kids too.

What word would describe my experience at Harper's is disappointed. My wife and I went their for a meal on Friday evening 9 Feb. To start we were given a table right next to the door and we asked move, this was agreed, and we're told she would just clear a table at the far end of the room which was fine, but she didn't come back to say it was ready and we made our own way. We then waited over 30 mins for our drink and food order to be taken, and even then that was only because I called out to the server as he was passing, when the drinks came they had got the order wrong and had to try again, the steaks we ordered were good, but at the price they should have been better. The dessert was okay but I must admit I've never eaten brownie and ice cream with a soup spoon. The bill when it came should have been around £120, although if that had happened I would not have paid it. DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS RESTAURANT I never leave reviews but this one is a first. Disgusted with what I actually received and witnessed. First of all ordered a Long Island ice tea and was horrible. Then the food came. Ordered wings for a starter was edible. For main ordered half rack of ribs & a fillet steak for my partner, as it came it tasted of dirty unclean grill. Spoke to the manager about this and on a Saturday was told the grill was cleaned on THURSDAY!! Was sent back we went to leave as they added drinks to the bill we didn’t drink & I had left my phone. I tried to track my phone it was turned off by restaurant staff when I went back to check if my phone was there one member of staff denied it was there another them came over and basically threw my phone at me. Was then made out to be my fault and they don’t know why the phone was turned off and ‘I knew where it was so what’s the problem ’when i didn’t and why does my phone need to be turned off by staff? Overall had a weekend away & disgusted by the service & they had the audacity to try ring the police on me for asking why on earth my phone was turned off so I couldn’t locate it. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

We had to wait 30 minutes for our starters then another 30 for mains while at the same time we still hadn’t had our drinks. the drink came after we had our main meal was served. Absolutely shocking service.

I live local. I really like this venue but every time I visit the food disappointments. Roast dinner veg was under cooked - £5.95 to add cauliflower cheese and we received a spoonful of it on our plate. You use to get it in a bowl to share. The burgers are often served with the bun burnt. Also the sauces on the food are over powering and ruin it. If you complain it’s very uncomfortable. As a business owner and a previous waitress the customer service isn’t great and it lets the place down it could be great. The staff places the food on the table and does not ask if you would like any thing with your meal, slow service in general. I really like the venue so I hope they find a good Manager that stays.

Very lovely place, me and my partner went here tonight with our little girl and the staff was so nice and kind, the food was very very nice I would also recommend the burgers, the service was very good and would definitely be going back again.

Fantastic impromptu steak night with the missus tonight - amazing sharing steak platter and a side of beautiful wings. The two staff serving were friendly and attentive but not over bearing and the music was great in the background. Heading back tomorrow for a tomahawk.. I'm normally not one to write reviews. In fact, I'm a waitress so I feel like I am very patient and forgiving. We came here for my best friends birthday and seriously had horrible service. Horrible. Samantha was nice - but she never checked on us. No refills. Nothing. We didn't get to order until an hour and 15 after our reservation. Finally got our food around 9:45 pm. Food was delivered incorrectly and we were missing items. It took them 1 hour to deliver our drinks that we ordered when we sat down. It felt like Samantha H. took advantage of the fact we were a big table and gratuity was included because to be completely transparent she did not deserve a 20% tip. Also, we were forced to pay gratuity even though there were only 7 of us. Their policy is for 8 there is a gratuity charge. All around terrible service. We got some food comped but really spending 400 on a dinner and tipping 20% is insane for the service we received from Samantha. We will not be returning.

Absolutely shocking. Booked a large corporate meal for 20+ people for our Christmas meal in 2022. It was agreed well in advance that we would have the upstairs function room with a manned bar and I gave a file with all of our meal choices well in advance. Upon arrival we were put on a table at the opposite end of the restaurant with no explanation why, no table service for drinks and uninterested staff, had to wait 45 minutes for the first course of food which arrived in the wrong quantities, mains and deserts were again in the wrong quantities with some missing altogether. Management displayed a complete lack of organisation for our group and overall it was a disaster. I was offered a nice discount at the end of the evening and a credit for a free meal as a goodwill gesture which when I tried to redeem my emails were completely ignored.

Always a warm welcome. I use it for meetings so can't comment on the food.

We normally come to harpers for breakfasts and for an evening we like a cocktail. So just on that we thought it would be a great evening for new years eve. They advertised come and join us for new year expecting something special, however there was absolutely nothing special at all about the evening. I recieved raw chicken for my starter which then made me struggle to eat my main. My husband got blue steak that he didnt ask for and we didnt even recieve the coffee and chocolate's at the end which are part of the set menu. We could hear multiple people complain and Staff were arguing at the bar so For a new year it was pretty pants. Home by 9.30pm just really deflating evening. Dissapointed . We are really really sad to be leaving this review as we normally love the place. Not a great start for our new year :(

Food very nice, well cooked, good portion size timely arrival. Service although friendly, slow and inattentive. 12.5% service charge automatically added seems high for what was recieved.

Came in for breakfast. Great menu choices and all of our food came hot, fresh and tasty. Will come again

Use Harpers often. Good bar & food with comfortable rooms - varying from quite small to a good size. Directly opposite Haslemere railway station and not too far from town. Prices are a little high but that's probably down to location. Menu centres around the grill & steaks so I wouldn't eat here every night if staying more than one night. Decent breakfast available.

Great service from Terri. We had chicken wings, tomahawk steak and waffles for dessert. Will be back again when we’re in the areas:)

Only went for a lunchtime meal after a walk on nearby Blackdown. We were made very welcome, including our dog, who had his own menu of doggy treats for sale. Very pleased with the food, which was prompt and delicious, Karyna was a very friendly and attentive waitress. Nice spacious area for our dog very pleased will be back.

WARNING! The pub's kitchen closes one hour before it is shown here. Do not rely on them serving you "late". It is a really a joke they stop serving so early. Move on and go to the Copa Club on high street - delicious and truly amazing food and open till late. Do not bother with this work-shy lot. (So obviously cannot send details of when dined here - as they ask - because they were closed!! One more reason to go elsewhere for dinner, they may be thinking only idiots show up)

I popped in for lunch, as I had a voucher to use. I was greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff, Karyna, who settled me at a nice table. Good choice of steakhouse food at sensible prices even before a discount! The ribeye steak was perfectly cooked and delicious and the white/dark chocolate mousse was naughty but wonderful! Excellent service, and when possible, I shall definitely visit again.

5th Nov. Rang & spoke to Bethan. Explained the situation that we were booking on behalf of our friends and their dog Bonnie who was seeing Noel Fitzpatrick on 9 Nov. Could not confirm length of stay. Booked for 7 nights. Bethan took all details and advised she would refund any unused days we paid for. 8 Nov. Spoke to Mel to advise the arrival time of Bonnie and parents was unknown due to journey ( from N Ireland). Roadworks meant arrival was at 00.45 am. Mel provided her personal number and went over and above anything we have ever experienced. Waited up to welcome Bonnie and her parents. It did not stop there. Mel ensured she liaised with not only Steph but also myself. Mel ensured when Bonnie and her parents left in the early hours two days later that she arranged a breakfast hamper. A refund for the remaining 4 nights was immediately refunded to me. Bonnie and her parents loved the stay. Mel looked after Bonnie and her parents Took away all worry as Bonnie was seeing Noel F in Eashing. NF practice had recommended HSH. So glad they did. Thank you Mel. Your empathy, kindness, professionalism and customer service was exemplary. A credit to Harpers Steakhouse Haslemere. So glad we spoke to Bethan and she noted all requirements. We will be booking for Bonnies further visits in December so glad this is on the list recommended by NF Practise. Thank you Mel.

My favourite place to stay in Haslemere! Mel and the rest of the team are always so welcoming and friendly, they go above and beyond and it’s much appreciated. The rooms are lovely, and the beds incredibly comfortable. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Great reception by the waiter, found us good seats with our little one and the table was ready set and tidy. Food was good, rump steak was cooked just perfect but the crown jewel were the chunky chips…Must say the chips are some of the best I have ever had in a long time. Well done. We went lunch time during week so we ate at the offer rather than the main menu which was reasonable. Thanks.

Overpriced restaurant with terrible service and poor food. Has the atmosphere of a chain. Steaks were overcooked and same price as a top end restaurant. Service was slow, as apparently they had 1 large party, although rest of restaurant was empty (not a good sign on a Sat night). Still charged 12.5% service though.

Lovely room. Quiet and very comfortable and great breakfast spread. And Mel and her staff were so very accommodating and friendly, bending over backwards to help in any way, including squeezing us into a very busy evening meal and sorting out our booking for our next visit with our dog.

Won’t be going back. My son and I visited today for lunch and order starters and steaks: Sirloin and “prime ribeye” both completely over cooked. Hate sending food back so I kept mine but sent my son’s back. Another steak came completely over cooked again. At £34 you expect it to be cooked at least close to requested. No wonder it was deserted in there. Won’t be going back.

Sadly the service let us down again, it was mentioned that they were short staffed due to sickness, but the staff that were there looked scruffy and were borderline rude. I appreciate they were stretched, but for the price I expect a lot more and a better contingency for staff shortages. Food was average and practically thrown at us. I haven’t been for some time as I was disappointed previously but thought I would give them another chance. Sadly I won’t bother again.

Very disappointing. First time coming here, for my birthday. We were constantly ignored by the waitresses, waited ages for our starters and then for the plates to be cleared. They seemed more interested in taking pictures of their Halloween outfits and chatting at the bar than serving their very few customers. 1 other family eating so very quiet time (6pm), they werent rushed off their feet. We waited an hour for very plain underwhelming main course. We werent asked how our food was, wasn't offered anymore drinks, no extra cutlery after our starters. Very disappointing. We won't be coming back

Staff were wonderful. Rooms had everything you needed. Little coffee machine, plenty of teas. Nice size room and bathroom. We walked into Haslemere village. Was an ideal stay for going to Petworth, Midhurst and Farnham.

Popped in with my two young children for lunch. We were served by Mel, who was super friendly and very nurturing with the children. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced.

Lovely clean and friendly the staff were particularly welcoming to my little dog Bootsie with everyone coming to see him some of the staff even taking the time to sit with him being a tiny disabled dog he loved the attention I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough for being a pet friendly destination and would like to thank everyone for making our stay so pleasant thank you from myself and Bootsie

We had a lovely meal with our family at Harpers Steakhouse on Friday evening and was served by a lovely waitress called Cindy. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the price very reasonable and they really catered well for our young children. Thank you!

Was nearly £40 for two roasts received two slices of beef half cold, hard vegetables such as carrots parsnips and even the cabbage. The peas were burnt and black how your burn peas I do not know! And they tried to add a £5:50 service charge as “tip”

AMAZING STAFF! AND HOTEL! Stayed in the hotel for 2 weeks. The hotel is so clean, comfortable and friendly. The staff are amazing. So friendly and can not do enough to help you and make you feel welcome. Mel the assistant manager was so helpful with everything I needed as I didn't know the area and could not do enough to help with that and all inquires. So polite and friendly. Genuine kind manager which is so hard to come across! The bar and restaurant staff Cindy and Terri I had the privilege of meeting was the same. Lovely and friendly. They could not help me enough to help to make my stay feel so welcome and comfortable. Food was absolutely gorgeous and beautifully presented, breakfast and dinner i enjoyed thoroughly. Well done to all. 5☆ for staff and hotel. Would and will stay again.

Nice ambiance, we appreciate that this establishment is open till 8pm, as we drove around for 30 minutes looking for a place still serving food. Cindy our waitress was so kind, friendly, and attentive. Their mashed peas were the best I've had in England.

I hired the function room at Harpers in Haslemere for my partner’s surprise 50th birthday party. The team were FANTASTIC! Nothing was too much trouble. Michael was very helpful with the planning. Sam looked after me SO well when I arrived to set up. He was so attentive and helpful. Mel and Teri were amazing looking after us all during the evening. I have to say thank you to the whole team involved that night for making it such a good party. But Mel deserves a HUGE thank you, she was AMAZING! From videoing my partners arrival to putting the cake out, making sure we had drinks…. the list is endless!!! Thank you SO MUCH Mel!!

Was looking for accommodation in the area for one night close to the Haslemere train station and was very happy with my choice. On arrival, the hostess was very welcoming and the room was clean and nicely furnished. Also ate in the bar on evening of arrival and food/service was very good. No hesitation in recommending Harper's in Haslemere.

I had a fantastic experience at Harpers Steak House in Haslemere! Mel, our server, was incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was both delicious and served promptly, and the prices were reasonable. Plus, we had the place almost to ourselves, which made it feel like a VIP private dining experience. Had a fabulous first class service thanks to Mel. The fish tacos at dinner were delicious and we sat outside on the patio. Beds were comfy and with nespresso machines and modern bathroom we were well looked after. . No breakfast as we dashed off early to Goodwood Revival but we will definitely return
