Harpers in Bromley

It is our go to restaurant these days. Always welcomed by the very friendly staff. Food is always served hot and tastes delicious. The whitebait is the best I have tasted in a long long while.

Family celebration. Staff were friendly and helpful. We haven’t been here for some considerable time but feel a little disappointed with the food. The roast was okay but smothered in thick, gloopy gravy. I would prefer it served separately. Vegetables were sparse and we had to pay £5.50 extra for cauliflower cheese which seems expensive. I would hope it would be included. Calves liver was a little over cooked and the green beans tough. One diner, though, enjoyed his steak. Drinks were expensive. Not unusual these days but £12.00 for a cocktail ! 😬 It was very busy so obviously popular but we probably won’t return.

We had a booking for 14 family members. We were very well looked after and had a great evening. Thank you to all the staff for their attentiveness, they were great. We all left very happy. Food was lovely.

Very attentive staff and after the first half hour when we were alone there was a good atmosphere in the restaurant but it wasn't noisy. Just about 7 tables quietly enjoying lunch. My first choice of main was not available and neither was my second but chips were piping hot and meal good. We booked as abirhtday lunch and my fiends had desserts with sparklers for their birthday which was a lovely touch thank you

Always have a pleasant experience when I visit Harpers with the family. It caters to our dietary needs, the staff are always friendly and attentive. The food is incredible would recommend to anyone who lives in the local area and outside to visit Harpers.

,Fantastic restaurant. Great balanced menu with something for everyone. Staff are attentive, polite and helpful. A great way to spend time with family and friends. I have been several times now and it is my go to West Wickham restaurant.

Disappointed with the menu changes. No longer doing salmon and vegetables which was superb. I had haddock which was mediocre. Much preferred the old menu with small dishes to share for starters. will not be coming back unless salmon put back on the menu!

Lovely environment. Extremely personable waitress & waitor made the evening more pleasant. The food (we had the prawn & chorizo sharer to start & both had a burger) was not comparable to previous quality I have experienced. The starter was delicious but as a sharer it would have been improved by two pieces of bread not one & a spoon for the sauce. We were not asked how the burger was to be cooked. The meat was slightly dry & the brioche roll was not sufficiently robust to hold its contents. The fries/chips were hot and crispy.

Brilliant as usual. Food was excellent and service was too, even on a very busy Mother’s Day. Staff are all so family friendly, our waitress was brilliant with our two young kids. We’re lucky to have this place on our high street! Well done guys.

Great food, good atmosphere. A little disjointed with table service, had different staff members asking the same thing with orders and then what we ordered didn’t arrive so had to ask again. That being said very pleasant staff 😊

Had a really lovely waiter today, I didn’t catch his name but he was tall, black curly hair and was at the bar on and off. Even though he seemed shy he still gave us gentle, smiley and heartwarming customer service. Thank you to the kind waiter and Harper’s for making my day with your food.

I have been going to Harpers for years now and have usually been happy. Tonight however my dinner was part hot part cold … one piece of lamb was really hot and another piece was cold . It’s as if it was warmed up in a microwave but no one checked if it was hot all the way thru . I did send it back and it was hot the 2nd time . Too much warming up of the same plate of food is not good so I hope I won’t become ill Also the desert lemon sorbet was tiny and hardly any berries , compared to the lovely one I had at lunch there last week . It’s a real shame as I have Recommend dozens of people to Harpers over the years but now I wont be going back in a hurry and I won’t recommend it to others , I think they will be disappointed .

Had a lovely lunch yesterday. Very good quality and very good value from the set lunch menu. Only one improvement you could make, that's to offer bigger bottles of beer.

Went on Sunday 2nd March. Great to see the restaurant fully booked. Service is friendly, menu choices are nice and varied. Ingedient quality was excellent. Have to say the roast pork belly was wonderful. Would highly recommend

It was a pleasure to be served by Hope, she was friendly,personable and polite. The food was lovely, my husband loves the ribs here. Drinks are a little on the expensive side compared to other restaurants. That said its a lovely restaurant

We’ve been coming for lunch at your lovely restaurant for years , but we’re disappointed you have changed the menu so much - we used to look forward to fish and chips and other dishes - perhaps you thought it was time for a change.

We went to a lot of trouble to make a birthday celebration for a lifelong friend a special occasion. We visited Harpers, took table decorations and made a significant deposit for the meal. HARPERS DID NOT BOTHER. The result was a huge v disappointing evening! We visited today and they would not apologise . Harpers is run by uncaring people who just want your money. Do not use this venue, They don’t give a damn!

Really fancied a ROAST and wasted my time attending here.. The potatoes were still partially hard,The gravy tasted super salty and had thick bits of seasoning in. Also kids no longer eat free and when asked the women just said ‘well we charged in December for kids and we just haven’t changed it’ This was also on their website so don’t be fooled. What a great way of getting customers in by force advertisement I guess it’s really all about the money. February 2025

Great food and super service. Love that they’ve brought back zucchini in the bar menu. Would love it if Harpers added salted caramel and pistachio to the ice cream flavours.

The best restaurant for food and service

We had our Mums 80th at Harpers for 22 friends & family, lovely staff who were very attentive, great food & good value for money, a thoroughly great evening for Mum & all of us. Thank you. Highly recommended

Our waitress, Hope, was absolutely fantastic—her friendly demeanor and attentive service made our visit truly special. The food was nothing short of amazing; each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The entire dining experience was incredible, and I can't recommend this place enough! If you're in the area, make sure to stop by and ask for Hope; you won't be disappointed!

First time at Harpers and they did not disappoint. The Sunday roast was tender, the gravy rich and plenty of accompanying roast veg. Highly recommended.

Nice looking, modern restaurant, pleasant and attentive staff. Not great for vegetarians - we ordered a nice looking warm salad but it was missing some of the key ingredients listed on the menu - as if we’d wouldn’t notice.

We have been to Harpers for many years now and returned again Sunday as we enjoy the atmosphere and the food. We usually attend on a Sunday as kids eat free with adult meal purchased or so we thought. Having found it written on the menu in very fine print we ordered only to be told they are no longer offering this deal.

We visited Harpers on Sunday for a roast dinner. Presentation and taste of our food was good however all our meals were served up lukewarm which spoilt the experience.

Although Harpers was busy the food was very tasty, the service was spot on and there was an enjoyable atmosphere with several birthday celebrations taking place.

Very poor service , extremely long wait for our food , we didn’t get asked if we wanted more drinks, or if we were happy with our food , staff were not friendly barley showed any interest,would not go back , we have been quite a few times and enjoyed it , but this visit will be our last.

Although the food was good in itself, the experience was marred by the low temperature and understaffing. We told the waitress shortly after arriving that we felt cold (right by the door on the coldest evening of the winter) but she said there was nothing they could do about it. Perhaps that should have been our cue to leave, but as it was my mum's 73rd birthday, we stayed - keeping on jumpers and scarves. We did mention it again as we were leaving. The other big disappointment was getting a beautiful fillet steak, but only two reminders and half a meal later finally getting the mayonnaise and side salad I'd asked for. The wrong drinks came out for my parents - but then the right ones didn't come. No-one asked at any point how everything was. It felt like the staff were rushed off their feet. I think for the amount we spent, it was just a bit of a disappointing experience- especially to be so cold that we skipped pudding and went home for a cup of tea!

Visted a few times last couple months and by and large each party stuck to the set lunch menu one of which was the festive one. Food is very nice and excellent value .Am sure when occasion arises will return for an evening visit and explore full menu. Our one complaint would be on this weeks visit, to be be fair a very cold day, the restaurant became progessively colder . I appreciate heating costs but that day was it did become quite uncomfortable otherwise we may have stayed on for a coffee and drink and longer chat.

The food was fantastic as usual especially the pork belly highly recommended the only issue with the food was the vanilla ice cream it doesn't seem to taste of much which is a shame and the only other issue we had was not being told when we booked the table we only had 2 hours to order and eat our food then had to leave because it was new years eve which when you have spent £140 it would have been nice to be able to relax for a bit .

Went in for the Christmas festive menu for 5 of us. Food was delicious and price was very reasonable. Lovely Christmas decor and atmosphere. Servers were polite and friendly. Restaurant was busy and staff were occupied quite a lot with large parties and so weren’t as attentive (only asked if we wanted more drinks once and no coffee offered at the end of the meal). But had an enjoyable evening and would recommend

A quiet meal with my grandson Jack and his gf Ella, to belatedly celebrate her birthday. It wasn’t exactly quiet, the place was full and buzzing, which created a great atmosphere. Food was good, as always. Service was fine, and a pleasant time was had. We will be back soon.

Turkey roast was really good. The roast potatoes are just like you would cook them at home. The Festive Menu has some great options. Had a good meal. Thank you.

We had a wonderful meal on Sunday, service was a bit slow but staff came to explain there was a technical issue with the till system. I also didn’t get my yourshire pudding, I’m sure they would of got me one but I didn’t ask and we soon forgot about this as they had magnificent entertainment with a magician who done magic tricks at the table. It was a lovely evening and we all left with full belly’s and lovely memories.

For the second year running, we chose this restaurant as a venue for our camera club's Christmas Dinner and we were quite happy with our choice. The food, service and ambience were all quite good and we had a pleasant evening. So, all good!

Stuffing was cold and uncooked which resulted in getting very upset stomach and turkey seemed to be or packed as on the plate it came out squared shape

We had a great overall experience at Harpers. The food was excellent, served in a timely manner, and the staff were very friendly, helpful and inviting.

There was a mix up with the number of diners (our parties' fault..not theirs!!) but the staff went above and beyond to sort this out for us. The manager was top notch. Staff were attentive without being over the top. Food was excellent too...good sized portions. Would have been nice to have had some christmasy music in the background .

Amazing food and service as always. We regular attend as a family but this year for our lads Christmas lunch we chose to stay local instead of heading to London. We were not disappointed and the 9 of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you and see you soon.

Had a lovely group dinner here. Staff were super-helpful and accommodating, especially with members of our group with allergies/food intolerances. Lots of gluten free options. Really lovely atmosphere and setting. Will definitely be returning.

Just returned home to Essex from Harpers in West Wickham Kent. First visit and was blown away by the amazing service food and entertainment. Firstly a huge thank you to Hope for the wonderful welcome and service. Your friendliness , professionalism, and care from ordering our food until we left was excellent. The food was the best Turkey Roast I have eaten in any restaurant. Presentation and portion size was exceptional. Another big thank you goes to the table magician, you blew my socks off. I have never seen tricks that baffled me so much. Your close up magic is first class and was truly amazing. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant and will be recommending to family and friends. What a team ! Merry Christmas to you all 👏👏👏🎄

We had dinner in October and the roast was so good I couldn’t wait to go back. My daughter had a lovely roast too, great size for a kids meal and as she is 10 she ate free. Today we went back as we knew that the magician Jamie Daws was there and had heard he was great. I was impressed with his magic, my daughter was blown away by his tricks and we will definitely going back. The entertainment today made dinner even more fun

Food was amazing and the staff were so friendly and couldn’t do more for you. Jamie the magician was so engaging and incredible at what he does. Lovely added touch to a catch up with friends. 100% recommend booking on a Sunday when Jamie is at the restaurant :)

Have been coming for years normally evenings but had a fabulous saturday lunch with old fashioned Harvey Wallbanger and Bloody Mary cocktails- lunch menu which was excellent value - cant recommend enough for every occasion - well done all x

Wednesday early evening one other table occupied! Food comes up within minutes it can’t possibly be cooked fresh and forgot the sides! We were made to feel like they wanted to close so we paid and left £50 worse off!

Staff fantastic. Atmosphere really comfortable. Food lovely. Great service. There were 16 of us and we were taken care of and served at our pace. Very nice people.

Excellent quality food with friendly professional service

As always great food and efficient friendly service. The liver and bacon was excellent as was the chicken pesto pasta. The one thing I personally think needs attention is the upholstery on the long banquette opposite the bar. After many years of wear it is now heavily stained and could do with a refurb. This is a class restaurant.

Got to sort out the sticky door on the exterior side of the men's toilet, where the paint/varnish has de-natured!

So we turned up for a roast not realising they had the magician…. First of all, the food is excellent. I had beef roast and it was perfect. They seem to do a few of these nights and Jamie Daws was excellent- very clever and the magic was superb. Not something that I would usually go for but it certainly added something! Fully recommend

I have dined here before and the food was nice but after visiting the restaurant recently it was very disappointing. The service was not really up to scratch and long waiting time in between courses plus a mix up with the one of the orders. The food was below par and not very enjoyable at all. Not sure I will be going back

Lovely afternoon having lunch at Harpers. I came here 4 years ago with my sister, and returned today with a friend. We had a lovely lunch with fruit punch mocktails and a pina colada, which my friend said was exquisite! We had the king prawns and the tempura prawns for starters. We then had beef burgers and chunky chips for the mains. Really good food and lovely service. Thank you, I'll be back in the near future.

All good appears to have been frozen, overpriced rubbish. The hype from the owners does not accurately describe the menu, service or quality.

Had a lovely meal the other month today was awful, the food was too quick coming out definitely microwaved so disappointed. If you cannot serve fresh food please don’t bother it’s not cheap to eat out it’s a special time so very disappointing

Like food and like to try new places one to keep an eye out for had a stake and chips yummm was cooked exactly how I liked it and had good flavours and not one ounce if fat or grissle also had the biscoffe cheesecake with ice cream sweet but worth it staff are attentive so had a good meal definitely going to come back

We're very new to the area and thought we'd give Harpers a try. We were incredibly impressed by the food, the lovely atmosphere and the outstanding service. The place was very buzzy and seems like it will be a regular haunt for us. Great stuff Harpers!

Had the prawn tempura , pesto pasta and creme brulee , all food was delicious , really friendly and lovely waiting staff and lovely restaurant , definitely recommend

Went Weds at 530 only one other table Waitress was friendly but on her own. Had the set menu. Starters came out quickly the goat cheese was good. Chicken pesto pasta was horrible. Chicken very dry and overcooked. Pasta tasteless. Pesto disgusting. Waited a long time to get the bill. Understaffed. Not great value for money this time.

Update July 2024 - another nice meal but unfortunately service was pretty slow and not very attentive. Really lovely Sunday Lunch excellent Roast, but full menu also available and nice atmosphere.

Absolutely amazing, this is how to do it. Great food, lovely atmosphere and staff professional and attentive. Why don’t usually enjoy cocktails but these were beautifully presented,tasty and will definitely be having more.

Best meal I have had in a long time excellent!

Was disappointed with my visit this time we found the food tasteless, I had hummus to start which has no taste at all,also had calamari that was ok for main I had sea-bass and my husband had fish too very bland food, The drinks were very good it was a thirsty Thursday so drinks were reduced all in all the bill was just over £100 and it was definitely not worth it I won’t be returning.

Really lovely time. Great staff, yummy food and lovely atmosphere. Loved it and will definitely come back!
