What a fascinating place, full of 1960s memorabilia about the entertainment world. Guitars, motorbikes, bands, stuff all over the walls and ceilings. Reminded me that this was a very vibrant decade, not gloomy like it is now. Staff engaged quite well with the customers, had a chat with the owner about his collection. The meal was basic but adequate and inexpensive. Stoke (Hanley) city centre is run down and depressing so it was good to find something nice there.

We had visited Harvey's before pandemic.Went back today the owner remembered us and had lovely chat.Food as usual was tasty great value for money..Cafe is amazing all the memorabilia is outstanding.Will definitely be going again and again.

My partner and I stopped in for cheesy chips, hot drinks and a crumble. The service was friendly (we had a lovely chat with the owner) and food was super fast! Loved the music (and it was at just the right volume). The best thing about this place is it's amazing decor and atmosphere. The second best thing is their policy of no under 5's. It guarantees somewhere relaxing to get away from the noise outside. We'll definitely return.

children under 5 are not welcome in this place my grandson is 1 Its not very good alot of parents have children under 5 we was not welcomed in here its digusting since when has a child been turned away in any restaurant or cafe ?????

We were visiting Hanley to attend the Theatre and stopped in for lunch. What a surprise when we got inside. So much to see and the welcome we received was warm and genuine. Will definitely go back

Sat by the window as it's a bit dark inside. There is stuff everywhere which makes it a bit claustrophobic but theres plenty to look at and talk about. No wifi. Ordered at the bar and the man serving drinks was friendly but no one else acknowledged we were there throughout the whole visit including when the food was brought! Food came quickly after ordering. Very good breakfast and very big for the price we paid. Cooked nicely. Would go again if we were there on a day they are open.

After 3 years away from the UK, I was desperate for a really good bacon and egg Staffordshire oatcake. Nothing else hits the spot. Just as I was about to give up, I stumbled across Harley's, lucky me! It's got great vintage music-themed decor and music, a warm welcome, and THE BEST OATCAKES (and pot of tea).

Nice breakfast in a nice clean environment served by nice people. Every item on my breakfast was well cooked and served hot. Admittedly ingredients are of the cheaper type but at £5.70 I wouldn't expect anything else. I was really happy to see that children under 5 are not welcome as I for one hate the sound of screaming kids. When I had children of that age I would have smiled at the sign and happily found somewhere else to eat. I would eat here again.

There was no greeting, nobody showed me to a table, nobody offered me a menu and nobody came to take my order, you have to get up and go to the bar. The food didn't take long but was very average. Nobody asked if everything...

Went into Harleys. With my partner and our baby. For some Lunch to be told that baby’s are not aloud in only 5 years plus can enter the building. This place dose not have notices on doors ect to say this. Harleys have always doted on being a family friendly place. But it clearly isn’t. when approached the cafe on there social media to ask why. My messages were blocked and been blocked off there social media sites. Very professional never will we attempt to even go in the place again. Found a nicer place just over the road. Very pleasant staff very clean and tidy. Child friendly. And food is top notch. Potteries cafe. Just side of Barclays Bank. AVOID HARLEYS AT ALL POINTS

We were just doing a bit of shopping in Hanley and decided to look for somewhere for lunch. We spotted Harley's and thought we'd give it a try.The decor is fabulous but looking at the plastic wallets with the menu sheets in I thought it would be the usual greasy spoon standard. How wrong I was. The food was amazing delivered quickly to our table and beautifully presented.I opted for a chicken balti for £4.99 and I have to say I've paid three times that price in a restaurant and not got as good a meal.The staff are friendly and efficient. The overall service and impression is great.We could have stayed there all afternoon listening to the varied music selection but we had more shopping to do so we'll just have to go back again in the near future.

It's a small place, decorated with a bike n music related items, unique but cost n warm.staff was cheerful, n we had 2 pots of teas, full brakfast2, extra toast, for £8.75!! Kids loved the place n we had homely breakfast before going to hit the shops.defintly going there again.

Absolutely vile place!! Dirty and food was bland! Not only that but the waitress was really rude and had no customer service training. Service was beyond slow! Had to ask for clean cutlery and to think we customers pay her wages. You should be grateful of any trade considering the place was empty! I planned to visit after a shopping trip with my 3 year old son. Upon approach I saw a sign stating that children under 5 were not welcome. Clearly they must be bursting with customers to be able to turn down the custom of parents. Good luck to them. From the state of their social media image in recent weeks they'll need it!

On the face of it, the place looks great, well laid out with brilliant decor. However that is this places only selling point! Both Owner and staff clearly have absolutely no idea how to run a business nor what there lack of customer service from the moment you walk thru the door to the food served actually comes across as. I'm sure that many have enjoyed the poor quality of the above but we certainly did not. The female owner is, to put it bluntly a "self righteous what I say goes" type who clearly isn't interested in any complaint nor criticism. Should you wish to waste you're money, i'd recommend a local Mc'Donalds!

Food is vile, and something anyone can make better at home. They have a disgusting attitude towards customers who quite frankly pay their bills. Scream at poor mothers who walk in with children because apparently 'no one wants to listen to a screaming child' how is this acceptable? Shut the place down.

We called in last thing on a Sunday, with an hour to spare before a theatre show. The staff were freindly and helpful With efficient and freindly service. Clean, tidy, nice toilets, reasonable prices. We enjoyed the decor and memorabilia.

We went as a group of four to get a late breakfast. Food was greasy spoon quality and pricing. It was great if you are after something greasy and filling. (Which we were!).

Excellent communication at reception. I asked if I could pay by card, unfortunately not but I was advised that I could eat my meal and then go to a cash machine after, it's nice to be shown this level of trust in this day and age! The food was very enjoyable and there was plenty of it. There are plenty of interesting paraphenalia all over the place. It was a late breakfast around 1pm.

Called in here to warm up on a chilly Saturday. I had a delicious home made vegetable soup and large brown bap with butter washed down with a nice cup of tea!! Could have stayed for a lot looking at all the sports and film memorabilia, Excellent value.

I cannot find enough words to describe my lovely visits here ! I am an American married to a Stokie who was gone for many years. We moved here 2 years ago and was very blessed to have found this Cafe. The food is awesome and the atmosphere can't be beat. Oldies music from 50's all the way to Northern Soul is played at a decent volume in the background, every bit of wall space is covered with signs and photo's of the past. From Coca Cola to even Titanic memorabilia is on display! My husband and I come here at least twice a month and still find things we never saw before! Next month when my 88 year old mother arrives for a visit this is her requested first stop. An excellent varied and affordable menu, an awesome staff and good location right in Hanley city center near the Potteries shopping center (Mall to my fellow expats). And only 5 min walk from the bus station. A wonderful place just to sit with a cuppa on a busy shopping day! Harley's is only open during the day and does not allow small children. This is a haven when you want to relax and have a peaceful bite to eat.

Decided to give this place a try whilst out shopping. Found a table and after looking at the menu, ordered at the bar. Food arrived extremely quickly and was very nice. Staff were polite and would definitely go there again.

Were refused entry for having a sleeping 4 month old baby in a pushchair!! Don't bother visiting if you have children with you.

So I visited here last week with my mum and 3 year old nephew. My nephew was very well behaved to the point that a member of staff gave him a large block of chocolate. Today we have been in and what very rude individuals work there. Prior to ordering my nephew had been sat on the floor playing with his car, this being with nobody sat next to us. When ordering food we were rudely asked by the member of staff serving if my nephew would behave as the kitchen staff had made a complaint that be bad been 'rolling around the floor' and she also informed me that under 5s were not welcome.

Take the concept of Planet Hollywood but then make it uncomfortably tense and unpleasant. It feels like the memorabilia is going to fall onto you from how lightly it is nailed onto the walls and ceilings. You can hardly see the walls or ceiling for sharp bits of metal and wood.

Came here for breakfast with my partner and his parents, as they had recommended the place as it had lots of american memorabilia they thought my partner would like.Service was quick and also attentive, I spilt some water from the tea pot and one of the staff noticed and came over to wipe it up, even though I was trying with a napkin.The breakfast was big, the eggs were lovely, the fried bread that my partner ordered me as an extra was great. I think the tinned tomatoes did not really add anything to the dish and perhaps could be swopped for mushrooms instead, and I would have preferred the sausages to have been slightly firmer in consistency. But other than that really enjoyed the breakfast. The place itself was relaxed and also had a bit of music which was good. If I was in Stoke I would definitely come here again for some food.

Go in hear every week for light lunch, foods average ,deco and music nice ,was shocked at the very bias political advertising for UKIP,if you have people of all walks of life and political view ,they don't expect to have political bias shoved in there face ,some of the staff wer walking round with political UKIP ties and stickers and the counter was full of one sided politic bull ,sorry was begging to like this place ,but cannot accept a place that shoves political bias in people's faces.

We have been here before when it was in a different location and was always happy enough with food it does what it says, until this time my mum ordered a steak an kidney pudding which was horrendously presented it looked as though the cook had a temper tantrum with his fist it was very squashed also food was only aired, maybe it was a bad day? Been here twice in a week, lovely friendly service, cozy seating areas (we prefer upstairs) and amazing food and great prices. Ordered fish and chips, ham and cheese toasties and omelettes, all were amazing, we had a plate of little cakes too that they have on the bar with tea for desert. Would recommend highly.

Stumbled by this café on a rare visit to Hanley and not knowing where to eat. A little dubious at first but decided to give it a go. What a find!! Stunning décor, very friendly obliging and helpful staff, not to mention speed and efficiency with order. Had a minimal wait for omelette which had to be cooked and in which seemed less than five minutes arrived at our table with fresh cooked chips also. Cappuccino expertly made too. Excellent value for money and could not find any faults whatsoever, a most enjoyable overall visit and next time in Hanley will surely be back. Very clean homely atmosphere - well impressed all round.

Harleys (now in Fountain Square) is my favourite place to meet with friends for a coffee or a breakfast. You just can't beat £2.49 for a delicious full English! Well done Harleys.

Generally visit Harleys for breakfast most Saturdays. Food always lovely and fresh, and never a long wait. Staff are so helpful and friendly. So much to look at on the walls and ceiling, a great feature.

Myself and my mum visited on the 1st August,we have not eaten in Hanley for ages and wanted a nice lunch.We had been recommended Harleys so we thought we would give it a try.We were really pleased with the seating,decor and value for money.,we both ordered the £4.99 chicken skewer special and large lattes.Really good plate of food,plenty of chips.

First things first "no kids under the age of 5 allowed in" which is pleasant, the decor is totally different, wall to wall movie, record and sports memorabilia, nice 50's, 60's and 70's music playing in the background, staff always polite and with a smile, food is basic (it is a cafe) but always well presented and tasty.

well cant fault the big breakfast or scrambled eggs on toast ,yummy .never had a bad breakfast here and we love the music and decor.

So, the foods what you pay for 2.50 special breakfast, average, normal food. However, the rudeness comes for free, as soon as you go to the 'bar' it's an immediate 'what do you want to drink' from what I'm guessing is the owner. No smile, no thank you, no general politeness. Have also been here before with a young baby who was fast asleep and I was in a rush to eat; got told abruptly to leave blah blah, same rude man. I've never been somewhere where the atmosphere is so tense and awkward.

They do an amazing massive breakfast and also huge salads. The food is always really nice and there isn't a huge wait. Really good value for money aswell.

With guitars on the ceiling, an over-life-size basketball player figure and a 650 Motorcycle, this place is crammed with Music, Film and Americana items. On the other hand, the food is good solid traditional Potteries fare. It is served hot, fresh and to order, with fresh side salad in a bowl.The value is excellent, the ambience is great fun, and the service is fast.This place has my highest recommendation.

Me and the hubby visited on Wednesday 13th. He's had the huge brekkie and I had the chicken, bacon & stuffing Panini. Both meals very tasty and served quickly with a smile. Lovey atmosphere with the various bits n bobs and music. Thumbs up all round

What an incredible place! Stuffed from floor to ceiling with the most amazing collection of pop and Americana brilliantly displayed by an extremely enthusiastic owner on two floors (with, he told us, masses more at home). No diner in America that I've been to ever had so much so well displayed. Worth it just to see the full size Elvis on the first floor. Absolutely not to be missed. I do hope the owner has plans to leave it all to a museum - it's that good.Oh - and the cafe-style food was very good value indeed and served with panache.A real treat on a cold wet windy day. Go. Great decor and great to be able to look out to the hustle and bustle of the town. Drinks were very good. Food was good considering the price. Very inexpensive place to eat and fairly satisfying overall, would use again, staff very friendly.

We are huge fans of Harleys and have enjoyed many lunches at the various venues it has been in around Hanley. This was our first visit to the new place in Fountain Square.We tried the breakfasts and were very disappointing the quality was not up to much so maybe we should have stuck to something we know and love like their Club sandwich.Service was good even though it was very busy, the coffee was as delicious as ever too.Sorry but with all the new places to eat in Hanley they will have to up their game to keep even the regulars going

Been visiting Harley's for about 9 years! Always followed its custom each time its been moved around Hanley.2 main meals and 2 drinks for around about £11 - nothing to complain about :)Excellent service.It does state NO UNDER 5's policy and always has been with this establishment, but I have known the owner to allow children if they are accompanied with an adult at all times. I can say, I do prefer to chill, relax and eat a nice meal without screaming babies and children running around - just a personal preference.Keep up the good work :D

Was looking for a place to eat with my 10 month old baby who was asleep and i wast even allowed to put a foot in the door before the staff yelled from across the restaurant- "NO KIDS". Appalling, disgusted by the rudeness. At least have the decency to speak to me in a polite manner and not embarrass me as if though im bringing in something vile. They should shut down this place for age discrimination!

Nipped in here for a quick bite to eat and it was really busy and it was quite hard to find a free table. I can see why its busy because the food and drinks are really cheap but it's cheap for a reason, you can tell that they use the cheapest ingredients possible it's not good food what so ever and I won't be going back. The pub is great with all the decor from past decades but the food is really poor.

Have been to Harleston a few times at it's past locations. But this new place is ideal for just sitting and watching the world go by. Great food at a reasonable price, friendly staff who look happy to be working there. The restaurant is styled in an American theme that they have done better than many American restaurant / dinners that I have been to in the USA.Although American themed there is a much more relaxed atmosphere than in most American dinners. I am a fan and will definitely be visiting Harley's again and again!

After moving it's venue across many locations in Hanley over the years, this cafe has settled into what must be one of the prime spots available. The owner is a nice old gent, and he has a good crack with the regulars and dilettantes alike. There's no fine dining here, we're talking cups of tea and low cost full English breakfasts, but it does what it does with good grace. The decor is an eclectic mix of (mostly fake) pseudo musical memorabilia, think Hard Rock (stoke style). But at £1.20 for a pot of tea it delivers on its own terms.

I expected a lot better in new premises. I enjoyed Harley's when they were opposite Bodyshop, disliked it in Glass Street and I was again disappointed in Fountain Square. A bad start, the menu was filthy, greasy, sauce and gravy stained. The food came without the chips ordered. My husband's first comment was "this is the absolute cheapest, poorest quality burger". My cheese and onion quiche was tasteless, my potato was hard in the middle and my large bap was of a grey colour inside. I know it was reasonably cheap but it was poor quality. As it is not part of a chain I would have expected locally sourced good fresh meat and veg and home made quality food, proper chips too. I never leave food but I'm afraid I had too.

A great new location in the heart of Hanley, The most interesting memorabilia fills the walls and ceiling. Polite staff, great food and very well kept. Either relax and look at the fascinating objects from the past or just people watch as you peruse the square outside.

We came across this charming café by accident for a late full English breakfast, what an amazing place, its wall to celling of memorabilia from all eras as well as friendly staff and a great choice of food and drink on the menu, We were a group of 5 and all choose a full English with a drink and was very reasonably priced. The food we got for our money wow I have never seen such a big plate of food and my eyes were certainly bigger than my belly by the time I had tried and failed to eat everything on my plate :). I would certainly recommend this café to anyone. My only complaint is that it is sooo far from where I live and can't visit often :((I will definitely visit here again if I'm ever in the area.

For years Harley’s has been a secret known mainly to locals, however it has now moved to a central position in Fountain Square, Hanley.If you are into pop and film memorabilia this small cafe is unmissable. The walls and ceilings are covered in framed records, cd's, advertising posters and guitars, many once owned by famous artists. There is even a frame containing John Waynes gun and Sherrifs badge.The background music is mainly 50's, 60's and 70's,the atmosphere is very relaxing.We usually go in for breakfast, where else can you get a full English for £1.99.The quality of the food is excellent and the staff are all really friendly.This is Stoke on Trent's very own Hard Rock Cafe.

Lovely staff and meals throughout the day. I have had pretty mych everything on the menu = favourite is the Tikka Masala. Bev is an excellent cook and always takes a moment to say hello to the customers new and old. Julie the bar maid is always smiling and happy to serve, advise on recommendations and of course Tony the owner is always at hand to have a friendly banter chat and talk about the fascinating artefacts inside the themed restaurant. One criticism though is the price of alcohol which is priced too high for those wanting a drink. However, the coffees and teas, hot chocolate and milkshakes etc overtake that.

Once again great food and service never had any reason to complain. Love the fact i can have a meal without the formidable sound of screaming kids. Just letting people know it's moved to fountain square now as well This place is well worth a visit just to look at all the decorations
