Excelente lugar, excelente comida, excelente servicio, lo único que tendrá que tener en cuenta (lo que no creo que sea malo) es que no tiene servicio de teléfono / wifi en el lugar, es bueno realmente desconectarse de la red este lugar y ponerse al día con amigos o ir a una cita.

Me gusta este restaurante ya que tiene comida sabrosa, muy buen precio y puedo tenerlo todo dentro de mi hora de almuerzo durante la semana laboral. Vine aquí con mi colega y no estaba demasiado ocupado, pero el servicio era bueno y rápido: pedí 2 entrantes, 2 platos principales y 2 bebidas, y en 15/20 minutos la comida había llegado. La comida era sabrosa especialmente con la salsa fría al lado, la comida que he tenido que recomendaría es el pollo chow mien (gran porción y sabores en abundancia), las alitas de pollo simplemente Devine y las gambas empanadas (lista de inicio). Todos tenían excelentes sabores en los platos y definitivamente vale la pena volver a ir y he notado que con la comida asiática, especialmente la comida rápida, puede ser aceitosa, pero estos platos no eran particulares de esa naturaleza. Volveremos de nuevo, sin duda.

Lugar de almuerzo muy ocupado con tiempos de respuesta rápidos. Buena selección de menú donde la comida está bien preparada y hecha, los precios son razonables.

Please people do not go there!! Food is not edible, it tastes horrible. My chicken ramen tasted of fish 😑 The place is not so clean and the service is pretty hurried.

Came here for a quick lunch when meeting the other half. Ordered more than enough food and it arrived within 5/10 mins which is super quick! My partner even asked for an ingredient to be missing so definitely cooked to order too. Food is fresh, hot and very tasty. Favourite lunch place by far! Recommend the chicken wing sticks as they are amazing!

My partner and I popped in here for some dinner as it was nearby to our hotel. We were greeted and seated promptly, allowed adequate time for ordering, and food delivery was quick and efficient. My partner had one of the curries and said it was delicious. I had the chicken teriyaki which was underwhelming. The dish wasn't even shown a salt shaker, let alone had one used. There wasn't enough sauce to compensated for this either, however the server assured us that, had we asked, they would have gladly provided extra sauce. Overall it's a quick eat at a reasonable price.

Visited at lunch & very impressed by food quality & portion size. Very good value for money, plus one of the best (and biggest) chicken Katsu curries I’ve had! Will definitely go back especially to see what the wide range of sushi is like ...

We had our boys come to my office in Blackfriars and headed to H&T for an early dinner. It was brilliant. We had rolls, tempura, pad Thai, some sushi trays and edamame. Everything delicious and cooked to perfection. Service takes a bit as everything is made to order. With beer it came to £57.

Lovely food. Very tasty, usual price tag for proper sushi but worth it as a treat for me. Very happy to see gunkan on the menu as many main stream fast food sushi bars don't have. Food quick to come out. Place busy, got busier as we weee there. Would have been nicer to be a bit quieter but a nice atmosphere. Nicely tucked away underground too, so no bother from the busy street above.

Nicely cooked food with friendly staff but they get so busy at lunchtime that service suffers a bit. The Tempura Udon Set is a really nice mix, with noodles in a meso broth, tempura prawns and sushi rolls. The only thing is by default the prawns are in the soup, so the batter arrives soggy!! I suggest you ask for them on the side.

Went here with colleagues for lunch, and enjoyed it very much! Food was served quickly, tasted great, and at an affordable price. Would recommend!

My boyfriend and I stopped here for dinner. Service was quite quick despite being very busy. However, it can get quite loud in the restaurant so if you're looking for a place to relax and catch up, this probably isn't the place for you. In regards to the food, we ordered a sushi set and roast duck with rice. The sushi was better than most places we've tried as it's quite fresh. The duck was hit and miss though as the meat was a bit too dry and not enough sauce was provided to counteract that. However, given the price, the food was reasonable (although we wouldn't go for the duck again.)

Stopped here for lunch for the first time. I was in London on business. I did enjoy my meal and service. The server was especially good and attentive. I ordered the Sashimi Moria and the Softshell crab. Both were good. . .but my judgement is skewed because I get these both often, so by comparison on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, I would rate the food a 6. I asked for the crab to come out first, but it was reversed which was not really a problem. May have been the problem of high noise level and my server did not hear correctly. I would have rated this place higher, but you went in you had to go down into a basement where it was a bit dark and just not so welcoming. In addition, there was no air conditioning and it was quite hot out while I was there. So no open windows or air, made for a little less than a good overall experience.

Saturday 22 June 2019. This is my 1st review but 2md visit to this restaurant/branch. Chilli squid 5/10, small portions compared to other places of similar prices. Chicken breast ramen 6/10, tasty but small bowl. Curry laksa 10/10, decent sized bowl and kitchen altered it to make it mild for us. Tasty and flavours come through. Prawn katsu and rice 7/10, plenty of sauce and rice but only 3 prawns. Duck rice was well received by the children with us and one bowl between two young boys filled them up. 10/10. The sushi platters were very nice and filling. Customer service was pleasant and all our orders were correct and arrived quickly and efficiently. Would recommend here but weekday is packed and would suggest weekends if you prefer a quieter environment with less people.

I love this place. Food is always on point and very affordable. We go there once a month for sushi(big sizes). Friendly staff.

Ordenado por adelantado para recoger. No hicieron nada con mi pedido hasta que llegué a la hora de recolección. Luego, cuando les dije que estaba allí, en realidad pasaron el pedido a la cocina. Así que tuve que esperar a que todo el orden fuera cocinado. El tamaño de la porción del plato principal era claramente mucho más pequeño de lo que obtienes si comes. Los compañeros de trabajo también quedaron impresionados con su comida y los precios también fueron razonables. No puedo esperar para probar algo más la próxima vez.

Asistí a almorzar y me sorprendió ver que estaba ocupado a las 12. 30 hs. Nunca lo habría encontrado ya que se encuentra en el sótano. Me sorprendió gratamente que era bastante grande. Las mesas y sillas son todas de madera como wagamama. La comida tenía un precio razonable y buenas raciones.

Sin lugar a dudas, una de las mejores comidas que he comido recientemente, yo y mi papá estamos en Londres para el juego de la NFL mañana y encontramos este restaurante cerca del hotel, la mejor decisión que tomamos para probarlo.

Remarkably good and tasty food at a great price. The service is generally efficient. I particularly recommend the rice dishes. The sushi is not as good as you can find elsewhere but still very good value.

It's easy to miss this place but once you walk down the stairs you will not be sorry. Excellent Japanese food with some noodle and rice dishes. Service very good, good fresh and good quality. Worked out about £20 each Inc tip. Only down side is walking back up the stairs on a full belly.

This is actually a little gem in the city which is usually devoid of any decent restaurants. The sushi is really good quality, and the varying mains are also very tasty whilst being good value.

Restaurant was absolutely jam packed when we arrived for a Friday lunch. However, a table was available and despite being as busy as they were we were seated very quickly and drinks came out within minutes.

This is in a basement but there is a lift for pushchairs and the food is surprisingly good and surprisingly Japanese. Service good and fast. Well worth a visit

A good selection of freshly cooked dishes. Really tasty. There are several branches of this place which get really busy on weekdays.

We had a pretty shocking meal today at Hare and Tortoise. We ordered a pad Thai (highly recommended by the waiter) and Chicken Teriyaki and rice. While my husbands was brave enough to eat Chicken Teriyaki (and didn’t feel well afterwards), i only ate the whole five (!) prawns included with a inedible mess of slimy noodles and bean sprouts. I’m not a foodie and can eat pretty much anything but that was truly awful. The staff pretended that they didn’t see that I left practically the full meal on my plate. Why would they care? It turns out service is included in the bill. Given how bad the basic stir fry was, I would be very much cautious about ordering fresh fish and sushi there - if they can’t get these basic rights, who knows how they are storing fish. I will never go there again.

This is my favorite restaurant for a casual meal when staying in the City. The price for sashimi is very reasonable compared with a Japanese restaurant. On this occasion we ordered grilled mackerel which goes particularly well with beer, seafood salad, gyouza dumplings, Char Kuey Tiew (hot stir fried noodles)and finally Tantanmen (ramen in hot spicy sauce with minced meat). My Japanese colleagues were amazed at the quality of the dishes. Really good value for money. I don't fancy their sake selection. I would recommend you stick to beers and wines. Unfortunately they are closed on Sundays.

Been to every branch they have and im delighted to say that my opinion remains the same - they do the best pad thai in london. They methods, flavours, ingredients and amounts in how they cook it remains uniform and consistent accross all their stores....

Absolutely amazing quality of food. Sashimi and sushi with fresh taste. Staff we're friendly and helpful throughout when we kept ordering more.

We were staying across the river and had a late night craving for sushi. We weren't expecting much and were instead blown away! Rolls are huge and high quality. Sashimi is on point

Good selection of food, especially if not a sushi fan. Their spider maki is good. The service is also good but need to keep asking for tea top up. I had a chocolate fondant for afters, was rock hard so sent back and they dinged...

This branch is located in a basement with a service lift through the kitchen. Those with baby strollers may be allowed to use the service lift under supervision.

Katsu Katsu Katsu!!! That's what this restaurant is famous for. We were a group of 11 people for a farewell dinner and 07 of us ordered the Chicken Katsu Curry, 02 ordered the Prawn Katsu Curry, 01 ordered the Vegetarian Katsu Curry and the last person had the chicken teriyaki. Katsu Curry was great a decent helping and we had a selection of Sushi for starters. Easy on the pocket this restaurant is great for a big group on a budget!!!

Tuvimos una cena temprana con mis amigos, y nuestras reservas en el último minuto y aún capaces de satisfacer. Éramos un grupo muy grande, pero todo el personal hizo un gran trabajo con nosotros. Se aseguraron de que nos dieron la comida justo que hemos pedido. También atender a las diferentes restricciones de dieta que algunos de mis amigos. Como cuando mi amigo pidió el char kway teow y no me di cuenta de que tiene en ella, que el cerdo no. Ella llamó la atención de los camareros, y pedimos por uno que no tiene cerdo. Y no darle, sin dar ningún problema. En general, tuvimos una experiencia maravillosa. La comida es estupenda, el personal es increíble y el ambiente es agradable.

Toma aquí un amigo hoy para el almuerzo. Me siento como este es una nueva edad de Wagamama o algo, pero no puedo explicar por qué. No tienes que sentarse alrededor de una mesa grande con gente que no conocía, y tiene más de comida japonesa. Quizás es el ambiente y la atmósfera.

Popped in here for lunch last week and wasnt sure what to expect when heading down the stairs from the street.I was pleasantly surprised with a nice modern environent and was promply seated (given we hadn't booked i was impressed).We both had the Chirashi Don which was delicious and shared Okonomiyaki Stick which were amazing. Ideal for a quick turn around at lunch with top quality fresh food. Will be back

We had lunch consisting of chicken karage, salmon sashimi and unagi don. We also ordered delicious chicken chow mein and a curry soup. Excellent food and service at an affordable price.

I love this place! Definitely one of my favourite Japanese restaurants. Have been to another one located at a different address, the experience was not nearly as good. Not sure about the quality of sushi here, as long as I don't usually eat them, but I would definitely recommend the Maguro no Tataki here (seared tuna pieces) so tender....

Visited this particular branch several times and it always lives up to expectations. Food is always fresh, flavoursome and cooked to perfection. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Restaurant is located in the basement but there is a lift through the inner doors that you can use although you may need to ask the staff for access to it. Prices are very reasonable and service quick. We had walked past the Bloomsbury branch where the décor is different but preferred the one in Blackfriars.

I haven't had a ramen in a long time so this one felt divine to me. That might have something to do with it. Regardless, the service was friendly and helpful, and the decor was lovely.

Hare and Tortoise came highly recommended to me, so I decided to stop in for lunch. I ordered the maguro tataki as an appetizer, which was amazing. Definitely one of the better seared tunas I've had before. I also ordered the miso ramen which was disappointing and I absolutely would not recommend. The broth was really thick, to the point where it was paste-like, and the noodles were completely soggy, so it was barely edible. Service at this location was really friendly, my waiter made sure my drinks were always filled. Overall, I would recommend getting the appetizers but I can't recommend the ramen.

2016 Good is always great! Miso Ramen perfectly balanced with fresh product's. Can't really complain about the food even if I try... The host was a bit rude when allocating the table.... 2017 tried the seafood ramen and left disappointed... service was good

I've been here a few times, each time I returned still hungry and very unimpressed. Waggamamas/Wasabi do a better job if you want to eat that kind of food, this place is a little confused, all the staff seem chinese/japanese but the food tastes very bland and unauthentic.

Ordered Char Kuey Tiew (Wok-fried flat rice noodles), the noodle was not well cooked, still taste frozen, and tasteless. The restaurant is at basement so you can imagine the stuffiness of the place.

There are a number of branches; I've only been to the one on Bridge Street so no idea how consistent the food is in different places. I have been here a few times however and have always been happy with the food.Love the food here tough; starters and mains great and a good choice. I stuck to the 'safer' dishes - a chicken katsu curry was my main and was just like those I had when in Japan. My Japanese friend who was eating with me loved the sushi.For London the price was also very reasonable for our three courses...no dearer that Wagamama but better food. This branch of the H&T is in a basement...and it has a great atmosphere and well decorated. Don't get put in a booth by the back of house wash-up kitchen though...insist they find you another table. This usually isn't a problem but some of the serving staff seem a bit unhelpful in this regard.Once seated thought the service is good.I didn't find anything special on the desert menu...I typically go only for a starter and a main when here.

The curry laksa was very good too as well as beef noodles. I did not try the sushi though. However the pad thai was a little sweet. A touch of lime juice did improve the flavor

I stopped here after a business meeting and found the restaurant very accommodating. They are located in the basement which creates a cool atmosphere. The kitchen is on display which also adds to the ambience. I had the sashimi salad which was very good. The salad was crisp and fresh, and the fish was a mix of salmon, tuna and prawns. I also has the curry laska which was excellent. Plenty of fish, shellfish and chicken in a medium spiced coconut broth, with noodles and vegetables. The portions was very generous. That and unlimited tea for £20 including service charge was excellent value.

In the cellar, so was dark but OK atmosphere. Many people for lunch. A good Menu and the Sushi was fresh and delicious. Recommended

The food was quite filling but not too keen on the atmosphere,not friendly and could have a bit more drink choices. Prices reasonably but overall have had nicer friendlier places to go to.

I haven't been for two years but had a good memory. I was very disappointed this time - the starters were oily and very measly when compared the prices being paid. luckily we hadn't ordered our mains so we paid the bill and left... wasn't a great experience - not likely to go back...

It's in a windowless, loud basement room -- not ideal for a nice spring day. Packed for the lunch service, we ended up waiting over half an hour for our order. Staff very busy but not very efficient. When our order finally arrived, the fish was nice but the sushi rice was warm (was our order held up because of a rice shortage?) and the soft shell crab wasn't pleasant. Wouldn't bother returning.

Was meeting friends for late lunch there When I arrived and joined them, took me forever to place my drink order There were a few waiters hanging around but any time someone came over to clean our table, they didn't even bother checking if we wanted to order anything else! Finally managed to order the Prawns starter, which came quickly & tasted pretty good, however no sticks/cutlery, nor napkins were provided... More friends joined us after we ate and they were welcomed with the comment that "it's a dining, not drinking, area"! Which we felt was pretty out of order bearing in mind that 5 of us already ate! Needless to say, we didn't feel welcome!

This is very near Blackfriars station so very convenient. Food is great pan-Asian fare. Carb and meat heavy, light on the vegetables with the mains. Good atmosphere and reasonably quick and friendly service.

Had a nice curry with a bit of spice. Was very enjoyable. Could do with leaving the bone out and a little less fat on the chicken. The appetiser we had was peng! Quality chicken. My mate loved the noodles he had also. Really good rice to sauce ratio. The service is the highlight with regular water fillers. Would go again but I live in Tattenhall, so doubt it

Popped in for early lunch around 11.45 am to find restaurant except for 2-3 tables. Restaurant below ground. After initial waitress resistance they allowed me and business colleague to have two table so one didn't have the wall as scenery. Had jasmine tea to warm up followed by seafood noodles and colleague had tempura noodles, which was OK but not exceptional. Filled the stomach though.Doubt I would go back.

I love this place. Im a regular here and was a regular at the Ealing branch when I lived there. The food is consistently great - I've eaten 100+ meals between here and Ealing and never once had a dud.The sushi is some of the best I've had anywhere, and certainly the best I've had outside of Asia.Don't like sushi? The hot food is just as good. The seared tuna is divine.Everyone I've ever taken here loves it.Highly recommend.

After reading the reviews for the sushi we made the detour to go here. Arrived at 5.30pm to be told no sushi in the evening as the chef left half an hour ago. Disappointment continued with mushy overlooked wasabi, tepid chicken, foul tap water and a cold restaurant temperature which meant we were freezing when we stepped back into the cold December air.

Comparing quality and quantity Hare and Tortoise is one of the best sushi places in London. The prices are ok compared to some other sushi restaurants.

Basement restauranr rather dark with spotlighted areas . good mix of different far eastern cuisine. Very good value. efficient staff, quick service

Me and my friend went ther for dinner. The food was really good. The restaurant had lots of tables and it wasn't full (luckily) at that time. The sushi was tasty and presentable. The main course was nice and hot. It was a bit interesting that I received my hot food earlier and had to wait for my friends one to arivve 5 minutes later. But the overall experienc was really good.

I went there with a bunch of co-workers. My first time in the restaurant was good. The place is really nice and the food is taste. The portions are more than enough to fill anyone up and the service is friendly.In the bad side, I have to say, there is no phone network in the restaurant area so no so good for business or if you are expecting an important call.Food price was fine but drinks were a bit price, always taking in consideration that most of the drinks are not imported or easy to find in the UK.The overall 4 is down to the food and the ambient and the location which is very convenient and 2 minutes walk from Blackfriars tube.

I visited this restaurant with a friend for a quick supper after a long day. we arrived at 9.30pm and were 'greeted' by front of house staff who immediately told us that orders stopped at 10pm and the restaurant closed at 10.30pm. As it was only 9.30pm this seemed fine but did seem the highest priority for the staff. Our waitress shot the front of house staff an angry look when we were seated and rushed us through our meal gracelessly. The food was mediocre at best. Chewy overly battered calamari which had clearly come out of a packet in a freezer, bland teriaki chicken. The staff shut down the kitchen and made it clear that they wanted us to leave well before 10.30pm and clearly had more important priorities than customer care at that point. My friend was unwell on the way home. I wouldn't visit again, particularly in a city with so many good alternatives.

The New Bridge Street branch of the Hare and Tortoise is in a basement and so you can get no idea of the restaurant from outside. It is a bit like a Wagamama's with a long open kitchen and a mix of communal and smaller tables in a fairly minimalist space.The menu is a bit like Wagamama's as well though it ranges more widely around South East Asia and features sushi as well as noodle and rice dishes. It has pictures of the dishes for those less familiar with the cuisine and there are plenty of vegetarian options.We called in latish on a Thursday evening at about 9:30. There were a few customers left though it was emptying quite fast. We had a vegetarian tofu chow mein with extra chilli and a Malaysian noodle dish with Chinese sausage and prawns. Both were good if a little bit greasy. All the usual Asian beers on offer together with wine and other drinks. Prices are reasonable.The service was a bit distracted. The staff seemed keen to go home and started taking out the rubbish while we were still eating.

Friendly service and a busy atmosphere. The penang curry was wonderful but the spicy calamari was overcooked and dry. My friends sushi was apparently very good.

Popular with local city workers, you can be in and out within 45 minutes. The food is fast, filling and reasonably priced (a duck main dish and a soft drink for circa £10 - you don't pay much less for a sandwich and drink from Pret). A lunchtime no-brainer.

Me and my wife have been going to hare and tortoise for a long time, since we were are university at Russell Square where I think was their first branch. Two weeks ago we decided to have a date night in the city and visited this branch of hare and tortoise. We order two courses and drinks, half way through our meal a cockroach appeared on our table and moving around the dishes. I call the nearest waiter and pointed at the cockroach which she swiftly wiped it off the table and disappeared to the kitchen. We are still in shock and there is a wet patch next to my tea cup where the cockroach was squashed and wiped. After a few minutes have pasted but no one came to our table I decided to get up and complain. I spoke to Anne at the front counter and I am not happy about this. We grow up in Asia so cockroach is common and we don't really care if it is in the kitchen or back alley but crawling on our table and food is just not acceptable. I expected someone would come and move us to another table and destroy the contaminated food and wipe and disinfect the table. Anna apologise and said there is no manager around and she is in charge, she is sorry that it happened but there is nothing else to do. We call for the bill and try to make a quick exit and when the bill comes Anna offered not to charge us which I was not going to pay anyway. I left me details behind and no one have contacted me as of today and I doubt anyone will. They have a hygiene rating of 5 out of 5 which means they must have kept good records of all the hygiene training and food safety training. I hope this is an isolated incident and they have this on record and call in pest control.We will never go back to that branch, and yes that place is always loud so don't expect a quiet dinner.

We visited on a Saturday evening and whilst it was fairly quiet when we arrived very soon there was a queue for tables and the clatter of voices and chairs made it a loud and buzzing space rather than a spot for a romantic or leisurely dinner.We selected Japanese dishes. The menu had a good range of options including sushi/sashimi but also tempura, ramen,and rice dishes. We've eaten a lot of Japanese food before - including in Japan - and found the range authentic and tasty. It was reasonable value for money. Suggest for a quick dinner after work with friends.

Just had dinner with some old friends at this subterranean Asian restaurant. I had noodles with shrimps and I cannot pretend they were the greatest noodles I've ever. The service was marginally better than mediocre as was the food. The beer, however, (a cold Kirin) was awesome.

Amazing to read some of the reviews. What do people expect? This is a sushi bar and a bit more. Quick service and good fresh if not spectacular food. I'd prefer authentic Japanese beer instead of the brewed in the UK compromise but otherwise fine.

This place is quite affordable, service very fast and its the kind of place u can eat at regularly on weekdays if you like oriental food. I love their fresh watermelon juice and all their salads are quite good. The Veggie noodles are flavorful and while the ambience is not extra special, its a friendly open sort of vibe.

The katsu curry was immense! So much better than wagamamma's and Yo Sushi! It comes in a massive bowl and is yummy.However, I think we were served by 5 different people and none of them could crack a smile... We were the only ones there!

I love Japanese food, and decided to try this Asian restaurant which has some of my favorites on the menu: yakisoba, ramen, donburi as well as sushi. It disappointed. I first ordered green tea, and after about 15 minutes I was brought a very hot, but salty, cup of tea. Another 15 minutes later the seafood ramen arrived, and it was fine but rather thin broth. Fortunately it wasn't as salty as the tea. The food was adequate, but nothing special.

Everything I have tried in this place was super delicious. Its not cheap but food is good quality. My favourite sushi with eel and raw tuna .Hovewer service could be a bit nicer- some waiters are quite rude and moody.

Arredamento minimal e architettura molto interessante. Locale non grandissimo che permette una certà intimità. Abbiamo ordinato molti piatti per assaggiare il più possibile. tutto molto buono. Servizio veloce e non invadente.Piatti più buoni (secondo i nostri gusti):Deep-Fried Soft Shell Crab e Unagi and Avocado Maki.buoni anche i vari Maguro Tataki, Chicken Yakitori, Chinese Greens, Spicy Calamari Rings e il Phad Thai.

Fantastic food, I especially love the chicken katsu curry and the sushi selection there. The food is great for value as well but I am always put off by the service. It is so difficult to get the attention of the servers and one request always requires several reminders.

I went for lunch on a weekday. The main dinning area was at basement level with low ceiling. Tables were small and tightly packed. Main patronage was office workers nearby.Service was prompt. I was shown to the table quickly with menu presented immediately. Few minutes later, I was asked for order of drinks and then food. Waiting staff were in general knowledgeable of the menu and food ingredients. The menu was kind of Japanese mixed with some Asian dishes like fried noodle and roast duck rice.However, when the lunch crowd arrived, it became a noisy canteen, especially when there were a few large tables around you.I ordered tempura and duck rice, strange combination but I just wanted to try more things. Both of them are not particularly impressive: tempura batter was too thick and the duck was too dry. It might just be that I chose the wrong food. When I looked around, most people ordered the rice dish, which is not exactly Japanese. I doubt their specialty.Anyway, I won't go back if I look for Japanese food.

I've been to a number of restaurants within the chain mainly: New Bridge Street, Kensington, Ealing and Russell Square. This one in New Bridge Street is by far the best from my experience. Especially on a Saturday, when the city is eerily quiet, you can enjoy a great meal far from the buzz of the tourist London.However, although they advertise vegetarian dishes on the menu and the staff are generally quite accommodating, I am aware that some ingredients commonly used on vegetarian dishes are not vegetarian, as they are fish based, so great restaurant if you are not a vegetarian.

I recommend it 100 time, really a jewel of London, each time I'm going there it's just soo good! I definitely recommend it!

Chuka wakame - mixed greens with spiceCalamari - also very tastyThese are the dishes I had - they are both side dishes but a good lunch combination. What I like about the menu is the variety of options in every category, including several side dishes that you can combine to your preference. This was lunch with a colleague. Very good atmosphere, decor, seating areas, customer service and location. We arrived when they opened at 11:30 with no reservation. We were greeted and seated promptly. By noon it was busy. There is plenty more to sample and I'll be back. Excellent venue.

味は悪くなく、人気もあって平日でもたいへん混雑していますが、少々メニューの表示との差が気になりました。前回来訪時に、エビフライの「King Prawn」が小エビを合わせ固めて衣で包んだ成形状態のものであることに気が付きましたが、今回も3点ほど疑惑を持ちました。海老天小エビではないのですが、2匹のエビをうまくつなぎあわせて1つの大きなエビに見せているような作りでした。味は悪くありません。ツナの叩き説明通りですが、メニューに表示されている写真の1/3くらいの薄さのものが提供されるので、ギャップに注意が必要です。味は悪くありません。ねぎとろ丼肝心のねぎとろが、明らかに冷凍の、薄い円形のプレート状のものがご飯の上に乗っかっただけの状態で提供されます。味は悪く無いのに、ほぐす手間が省かれており、たいへん興ざめする状態でした。

Great place, fairly reasonable by London standards. Loved the Char Kway Teow, a Singaporean/Malaysian noodle dish I too rarely find elsewhere.

Decided on this venue as it was quite close to your hotel and we were really glad we did. You go down stairs to a lovely clean venue and we were greeted immediately and taken to a corner seated area. The menu is a mix of hot and cold dishes and we decided to go with a mixture of small dishes rather than a big meal. We ordered Dragon Rolls, Shrimp Gyoza, Maguro Tataki, Pumpkin Croquettes and Chinese Greens. Each dish was freshly made and extremely tasty. My favourite was the Dragon Rolls, Shrimp Gyoza and the Chinese Greens. These type of dishes need to be fresh and the Hare and Tortoise have got it right. We relaxed with a few large glasses of wine and left feeling not too full but content. The only negative that I would give and this is not really there fault was that the chefs while cooking some dishes used very strong spices and when heated gave off a very pungent smell throughout the venue which made everyone cough as it hit the back of your throat? Its all about the food really and that was amazing!
