Wagamama in City of London, Westminster

We finished eating and then wished to have some drinks, the table was crowded with plates and glasses, she saw that we had put the dishes in a orderly way to the side to be taken away and she just kept cleaning tables that were already clean.

Absolutely fantastic experience at Wagamama! Joanna, our server, made our visit exceptional with her friendly and attentive service. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations that we thoroughly enjoyed. The food was fresh, flavorful, and arrived promptly, thanks to Joanna's care. She checked in on us at the perfect times and genuinely seemed invested in making sure we had a wonderful meal. Her warmth and professionalism elevated the entire experience. I highly recommend Wagamama, especially if you’re lucky enough to have Joanna as your server. Thank you, Joanna, for making our visit memorable.

Food below average, tasteless. Service non existant, a guy dropped a DHL package in the middle of our table, we had to ask to order and get their attention. Glasses with our drinks were dirty. Unfortunately

We tried Wagamama in Covent Garden, and the food was really good – totally worth it! The cherry blossom lemonade was a standout; seriously, one of the best soft drinks I’ve had in a restaurant. Highly recommend trying it. The only downside was the long queue; we ended up waiting over 30 minutes for a table. Service was good but could’ve been a bit more attentive, especially with the wait. On the plus side, the toilets were clean, which is always nice in a busy place. If you don’t mind the wait, it’s a great spot for a tasty meal and that awesome lemonade!

Full of vibes, and spicy, filling entrees. Service is friendly, but was a bit hit or miss during our meal - we had some issues getting our drinks during our entire dinner

We had a bao which was okish to be fair but the Firecracker prawn rice was yummy. The atmosphere is cozy and the location is very easily accessible.

If you can get into this meal metropolis early, there is plenty to savour and salivate over. We did a walk in at 5pm to beat the hordes and enjoyed delicious asian-fusion fare. Everything was well proportioned, nicely presented and very delectable. Love me some roti and it did not disappoint.

Worst Wagamama. Refused to put a candle on our daughter's desert for her birthday. Every other Wagamama we have been to gladly did this on birthdays for us. Won't be coming back to this branch.

A couple of staple dishes missing/run out, but food that we did have was very nice. Service pretty good.

Taste of the food was mediocre. I had chicken and it was very tasteless. I added a lot of soy sauce. The food was served on a flat cold plate, so it quickly became lukewarm. Service was friendly, but the atmosphere of the place screamed "fast food". However, we had to wait a long time; they forgot our order and everyone seated after us had their food before us.

Had a great time in Wagamama covent garden, we obviously had lots of choice in the area, but Wagamama never disapoints and this one certainly didn't. The decor is a little different to the many Wagas we have been to, almost taken to another level as this is a much larger restaraunt woth hogher ceilings. The food came surprisingly quick, despite how busy they were. All cooked to perfection. We ended up with 6 starters and 4 mains for the 4 of us. The staff were friendly and great with our children, making them laugh and offering colouring and crayons. Toilets were clean, and smelled fresh. I would go again and highly recommend.

A great place to eat ramen. A bit on the expensive side, and they could be more generous with the meat.

I originally wanted to give it 3 stars because the ramen chicken was very tasteless and overcooked, but since I didn't have to pay, I gave it an extra star. I've been to about 10 different Wagamama restaurants, this is the second time this has happened.

The food is absolutely delicious and the same as other Wagamama's. Think that staff should wait for customers to finish their food before they try to remove their plate Infront as that is disrespectful , also tables should be better cleaned. Most staff there were friendly and the food arrived quickly as well as drinks. The payment is also quicker as that now is done through the phone. Be nice if the restaurant chain would do some student or bluelight discount. Also table charge to be removed as staff are doing less of their job really.

(7pm on a Thurs for a party of 6. Restaurant looked maybe 50% full?) Speed and lack of personalised service was the biggest let-down here. We were tended to by 4 different staff members, none of whom were very jovial or made eye contact, and we struggled to get anyone's attention for utensils for a good 5 mins after food hit table! I wasn't feeling adventurous enough to pinch at my pork belly ramen (which is ALWAYS a shout. Thank me later). We wound up nicking chopsticks from a neighbouring empty table. Classic Waga run, food is reliable - seriously, the pork belly ramen is killer - but I really wish the service had been up to par with other Wagas in town.

Service good, food arrived quickly. Food not great though compared to other Wagamamas we've been to. Ramen tasteless, chicken bland, broth very watery. Prawn kushiyaki were overcooked and chewy. Portions seemed smaller overall. It was very busy though, so perhaps a case of quantity over quality through necessity.

Nice food at a good price. Service was quick and efficient, staff friendly.

Really nice atmosphere. We were seated quickly and our food arrived well-presented and was delicious. Would recommend the butternut squash curry and their fresh juices are also worth a try. Seeing the chefs cook in the open kitchen and their efficient team work was a bonus.

I got the chicken ramon and it was one of the worst. Having said that the place is clean and the service is good.

Very good food, lots of space and great atmosphere

I went to this place on the 12th August 2024. Originally, I had wanted to go to Blacklock Covent Garden branch which was next door but their booking was full and there was a one-hour wait for dinner. I've always been iffy about this chain because as a British born Chinese person, I've been exposed to Asian cuisine all my life and looking at the pictures and menus through the years from this joint, I was positive that the owners didn't have a clue about Asian cooking and I was right. Firstly, to address the elephant in the room: Wagamama is NOT Asian. It's not Asian-inspired, it's not Asian-themed. It's a restaurant that has chopsticks and poor service and attitude... ...and the food is barely edible. The waiter/ person posing as a waiter was hardly ever seen such was his impressive disappearing act whenever I wanted to order something. It's quite an achievement in itself that he absconded all his duties and when I'd gotten frustrated at waiting 15 minutes just for my drinks and started to complain to a hapless colleague of his (whom I know wasn't stationed to me and my wife's corner), she went away and tried to find my order only to come back 5 minutes later with said drinks. My wife and me found the menu very amusing with the made-up names and equally "creative" food combinations that this company trumped up. We were gobsmacked, confused and gobsmacked again when our starter of beef and rice cake came to our table and found it dreadful because nobody in Asia does this. The rice cake was deep-fried instead of being grilled, the steak pieces were okay but as a combination? The ramen was just as terrible; I opted for a brisket ramen and my wife ordered a different ramen. The soup was weird. The brisket was this mass of days-old tough meat posing as beef. Honestly, everything about this place is pretence and the art of "faking it until you make it" If only those founders had actually BEEN to Asia and brought back proper Asian food. Also, the total bill came to over fifty pounds. I'm not baulking at the price; I'm just frustrated how in the world this company is still in operation to this day. My conclusion? This is a tourist trap and one that caters to people who THINK they're eating Asian food. I'll make sure anyone visiting UK steers clear of this third-rate "restaurant"

Bhargav was our waiter and he did a great job. The food was as usual verz good, the atmosphere always chill. One of our fav. places for casual dining!

Another amazing meal at Wagamama.

During lunch, I enjoyed a lovely chicken hot pot at Wagamama. Lovely and welcoming staff members. Ordered to take away, and it only took 12 min to prepare. I will definitely return.

We went for the brunch and ordered the banana katsu waffle, matcha croissant, bang bang hash browns and the vegan sausage bao bun and everything was absolutely incredible! Full of flavour, fresh and delicious. And the service was impeccable. All 3 servers were super friendly and attentive and were genuinely curious on if we enjoyed our meal. Huge shoutout to them! Will definitely return.

Mediocre, overpriced food. Slow, terrible service from staff more interested in chatting than actually waiting tables.

Stopped by for dinner on Tuesday evening. Was looking for something with a lot of vegetarian or vegan options. I ordered the Vegatsu. I regretted it. It’s entirely too salty. I ate it with the aid of a lot of water and only finished due to being very very hungry for a hot meal. The dish could have used something to lighten it up besides a bit of dressed lettuce and onion. The chili oyster mushrooms ordered as an appetizer were delicious, however. Note that they did not provide smaller plates for sharing. The dish was unceremoniously tossed on the table by a server who was not ours and she quite literally ran away immediately. The service is horrible. There is no one stationed at the door to greet you when you enter. The waitstaff is inattentive and took 20 minutes between the drinks order and main. It very hard to get the attention of your server or anyone else. Skip it! If you’re adventurous and not restricted by diet, head to Chinatown a few blocks away.

The ramen for breakfast was sensational!

Friends who like spicy food will probably like this restaurant🌶Because I couldn’t understand the menu very well, so I just looked at the pictures and ordered a few dishes, but I didn’t miss any of them! There are rice cakes in the hot pot and the noodles are sweet. What a surprise😎 The seats are a little uncomfortable, but the service is very good and everyone is very enthusiastic❤️

An evening with friends that turns into a nightmare: 168 euros in tips taken without our knowledge!! There were still 36 of us and we did well because the score was good at that number! No desire for arrangements, a wasted birthday! We took advantage of the little Frenchies who didn't all know the word Tips well.

My server David was incredibly sweet. It's never easy dining alone but he was absolutely wonderful.

We went to Covent Garden Wagamamas tonight (Friday 16th August 2024) at 4.30pm as a group of six - 2 adults and 4 children. We usually love Wagamamas, but have never experienced such terrible customer service in one until tonight. We didn't have to wait long to be seated and didn't have to wait too long for the waitress to come and take our order. However, After that the service went downhill. Our main meals arrived before the starters. Two of the kids ordered the same chicken katsu curry from the kids menu. One of the chicken katsu curries arrived with the rest of the mains. 10 minutes later, the second katsu curry still hadn't been served and then we had to ask twice where it was before it eventually arrived. The two starters we ordered - beef fillet crispy otsumami and the tama squid balls still hadn't been served and we had to ask one of the waitresses where they were and had a long wait until they were served. When we asked for green tea refills, we had to chase up several times before they were served. They forgot to bring the ice creams that were included with the kids meals and we had to ask for this and had a long wait before they were served. Despite all this, the food was nice although the kids meal portions are really small. Usually we'd be in and out within an hour for a meal at Wagamamas, but tonight we were there for 2 hours due to all the chasing up of missing dishes and waiting for missing dishes to be served. I'm surprised that the staff didn't try and usher us out earlier, as there was a long queue waiting outside the restaurant for most of the time that we were in there. I won't be dining in Wagamama Covent Garden again.

Delicious as usual! Had to wait a tiny bit longer than usual for the banana katsu for pudding as it seems like they have limited space in friers for frying the banana

I understand that the young people working here have no idea what it is to have a baby, but if a customer asks for a hot water for the baby bottle three times, I would expect some urgentie to it. But not here, fortunately other establishments do get it. The food isnt that great either. Not coming back here.

Not the friendliest wagamamas I've been to. We waited a little while , whilst being ignored by the people working nearby before being seated. My daughter and I (4 years) were sat at a higher up table, I asked for her to sit next to me and was told this was not allowed. I explained she was overtired and it would be for the best. The woman said we needed to be opposite as the chairs next to us were a table of 4, she looked disgruntled but said she could sit us elsewhere. My child was excited by the high up chairs so we stayed. She then sat 2 other people a seat away from us, the girl proceeded to ask if her bag could go on the chair next to her, to which the women working said it was fine. To say I was annoyed by this was an understatement. I have allergies, which were taken seriously (which is appreciated) however I waited for a good while to be served by the manager who was flapping around doing random other things that someone else could quite frankly be doing. He only came over when I had to sit staring at him for a bit. The food was good. But staff could be more attentive, friendly and more child friendly/understanding.

Visited today with my sister and our children. Ali was amazing, he made sure we got a table as quickly as possible so we could still enjoy a wagamamas before getting a train home. We'll definitely visit here again

Excellent as always, exceeding expectations

I had brunch at this location. The vegan English breakfast served in the dine-in was vegan( I hope and trust) but I had also one takeaway for vegan English breakfast. They served omelette and real beef in that takeaway box which you can see in the photo that I have shared 🤢 Totally made me feel disgust that they didn't bother about dietary restrictions. People who are pure plant based by religion or by choice won't go again for wagamama. I would rather choose another high street brand who actually took care about customer needs seriously and not just see vegan as a trend or laid back perception for the food they served.

Great spot but not for picky eaters . Took the family out for a day decided to go Wagamama’s but soon realised they barely have any halal options on the menu which left us with only the veggie options and fish . The food still tasted quite nice staff were vibrant and a little hasty at the same time but all in all it was okay

Yummy as always and a very nice team run this branch, always a pleasure to eat here. Be aware there is very poor signal inside so if you are trying to keep an eye on anything that requires internet or your phone, it might be tricky.

Waited 25 minutes at the table without even being asked for a drinks order.

My relative visited yesterday, with 2 kids and when the bill arrived it was £48 and the waiter then added £50 extra tip thinking they were tourists. Thank God my relative noticed to ask the waiter to insert the correct amount of £48 and not £98. I am a Londoner and I was horrified to hear of this scamming practice and dishonesty. Absolutely appalling!

Great new menu. Should definitely give the crispy chilly mushrooms a try. And the bang bang cauliflower. We weren't too happy with those vegan Korean corn dogs. Lacked flavour and texture. I've tried their new mocktails and those are just amazing.

My sister and I went to Wagamama yesterday evening and had a lovely meal with great service. We want to give a shout out to Chloe, who made sure everything was perfect for us! We both opted for the Soulful bowls, I had the beef and Chloe arranged a tofu alternative to the Chicken Katsu bowl for my sister (who’s a vegetarian). Both meals were delicious and promptly served. Chloe made sure we were happy throughout and ensured that we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will definitely return next time we visit London.

We arrived & ordered. The person I was with got their starter & then their main. The server (Alice as far as I remember, was quite useless). She told me my dish was coming in the next few mins. Then a manger came and said he didn’t know what happened and did I still want my meal?! He wanted to know was there anything he could get us we asked for more water, he said yes however it never came. We had to ask another sever 10 mins later. I did not receive my meal for over 50 mins. The person I was with was well finished & waiting for me. I won’t be going back here.

My girlfriend and I visited this restaurant recently and had a very disappointing experience. Despite arriving at 4 PM when the restaurant was nearly empty, we waited for 60 minutes and received only one of our ordered dishes. The second dish never arrived, and we finally decided to leave, unsure of how much longer we would have to wait. The staff seemed very confused and disorganized, which might explain the delay, but it was extremely frustrating given the lack of customers at the time. While the one dish we received was good, the overall service was terrible and overshadowed any positive aspects of the food. We won’t be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant due to the poor service we experienced.

Welcoming staff and very tasty food

A great gem in Covent Garden, friendly staff and winning menu. Got to love a Katsu Curry but a new fav is the crispy mushroom...yummy 😋 👌. The staff were very accommodating as my sister-in-law and I were catching up after a very long time and we were given time and space which I appreciated. I would highly recommend this branch 😍😍😍

Good value for money. The vegan bao buns were delicious. The service is very attentive. A bit too noisy, but it's a big restaurant. I would come back again for sure.

Got very pricey so ee ordered 2 fishes between 3 people. Nice to have a break and eat out. Staff were nice and quite busy.

This is the worst Wagamama outlet one can visit! The food is terrible. The restaurant is constantly in chaos. Our server was Harsh and he was absolutely clueless. The servers aren’t trained properly and are extremely rude. We ordered one dish and it arrived in 25 minutes. Stale left over refried squid!!!! Beer was not of the right temperature. Requested for a class, arrived I. 15 minutes!! Then, to celebrate my friend’s bday, all the desserts were out of stock. And, nothing was offered as an alternative. As we informed the lady manager, god wish I knew her name, she rolled her eyes on us and walked off with the card machine. Honestly, get your head together !

We had a wonderful time at the Wagamama in Covent Garden. It was my mother’s first time being to any Wagamama and she was smitten by the ambience and the warmth of our waiter-Krystian. He was so attentive and friendly, we felt right at home. I have been to many Wagamama’s before but I am yet to experience such a kind soul and gentle presence of a waiter. If I could give 10 stars, I genuinely would! Thank you for hosting us krystian.

My friend and I stopped in for dinner and had the best service! Alice and Aavash were very attentive and made our dining experience wonderful! The food was delicious and the atmosphere inviting. I highly recommend coming here!

Really quick service and friendly staff

We ate here last night. The food was sublime (we've eaten at many Waga so know the score) but the service was absolutely tip TOP!! We were served by Chloe & she's such an asset to the restaurant. She was so friendly, laughed easily with us & made menu recommendations. We'd have a great evening but Chloe certainly amped it up for us. She was so lovely. We'll be back at some point & hope to see her again.

If you know what Japanese Ramen tastes like, this is not the place for you! The panda express/manchu wok for ramen.

If you're looking for an authentic ramen, do not come to this chain.

Comfortable and informal place! Large tables to share and makes it possible to chat with neighbors. Well-executed and abundant dishes, in perfect fusion style. Super affordable prices, quick and friendly service. Dishes for vegetarians and vegans. Highly recommended.

It seems to be the preferred Asian food from a local perspective. Most of the restaurants nearby had long lines, so I went there because it seemed the most leisurely. I didn't specifically intend to eat Korean or Asian food, so I ate salad-type food, but I thought it was a bit unexpected because it was curry sauce-based. The apple juice on the kids menu was delicious, so this part exceeded my expectations. The staff's service was probably because I had low expectations... but it was just so-so. I just cleared my mind. Well, I guess it's because it's a big franchise and it's always busy. Still, I believe they did their best.
