Lovely restaurant. Food was delicious and the staff were super friendly and attentive. Would definitely come back. Only marked down the atmosphere as it was very quiet with not many tables, but it is a Tuesday. Thank you for a lovely dinner

Absolutely fantastic food! Visiting Bristol for a long weekend from Aberdeenshire Scotland. Having visited India and Sri Lanka many times and having worked on Indian crewed vessels in the Indian Ocean I've grown to love real Indian food. I can honestly state that the food in The Harbourside Desi Kitchen is the most authentic I've tasted since returning to the UK. The food was flavoursome, not sloppy and a credit to the chef! Staff were very attentive and polite. I would recommend everyone to try this restaurant. Just a pity we live nearly 900 miles away so I doubt delivery would be an option lol. Brilliant!

Very unhappy with Indian food for 1 person Jalfrezi, plain rice, garlic naan & chicken samosas £29 all comes pre packed & heated up like any non Indian person could do. Very un authentic food & quality was average if that !!

Popadoms from supermarket, not cooked fresh. Lamb curry like mush. Beware restaurants that claim to be authentic Indian. Pilau rice essentially full of peas and chipped carrot. There’s a reason it was empty on a Friday night

Food is very good as we indian wish its spicy.

They serve food you can buy at Asda for a price that you'd expect a decent Indian takeout. All veg is frozen and as a result, slushy. What kind of "Authentic Indian Restaurant" serves chicken nuggets and pizza samosas? There's a reason why you will often find this place empty, even on a Friday and Saturday night. If you're drunk and just want to consume something with turmeric and star anise, then this place is fine to have a quiet meal. But if you want a good Indian restaurant, look elsewhere.

Not the best lamb briyani I’ve had. The rice has a strange texture with a funny after taste. The accompanying veg curry should be renamed onion curry as it contains not a single veg (other than onion). A little pricey for the below average quality of food.

Excellent authentic food. Order a meat dish, a rice and a naan, that's enough for two. If you are hungrier, order another stew and another naan.

Good quality starter dishes but that's pretty much it. Main course was extremely bad and the service is awfully slow took us almost 2.5-3hrs to finish dinner. Went there for a friends event. There much better options than this.

Some friends and I ordered different dishes, rice was great, the nan was ok, they didn't have coconut nan, we were disappointed. The chicken curry was delicious, we also got a lentil curry for a no-meat option and we're happy with the choice. The music was nice. We were starving but the service was on point

Delighted with food and service, absolute gem of a curry house.

The food standard and quality is very poor. Food colour is added in all dishes. If you are someone who uses hands to eat, you could still have colour stains at your hands even after washing. Attached are our hands and fingers after having our lunch. The lamb chops were so bright in colour and now we know why, all because of artificial colouring agents. Even they added colouring agents to biriyani. Even after multiple washes, still colour stains remain in our palm and nails. Couldn’t think of standard of colouring agents added and there effects on body. Naan breads are not made from scratch, they taste similar to one we get in Asda, Iceland or Lidle. We have butter masala and it tasted the same as preprocessed food we get in supermarkets. If you are someone who try to avoid artificial colouring agents, and want to taste something really indian, please avoid this restaurant.

The food was absolutely DIVINE! The best butter paneer masala we’ve ever had. Insanely delicious paratha and chaat. Seriously amazing. There seemed to be some renovation happening but the service was really fast, the food was outstanding and there was tonnes of it too. We would absolutely recommend. 10/10

This was a great find. Fantastic menu which is really clearly marked to show which dishes are vegan, vegetarian, and there's a lovely selection of dishes. Good to see some items that aren't found in your average Indian restaurant. And really reasonably priced. What was surprising was that it was so quiet, this place deserves to be a lot busier!

What a lovely restaurant in the harbour area! We had the Meethu Aloo, Sag Aloo, some Garlic Naan, some rice and a Punjabi Samosa. Everything was so lush and flavoursome. Super authentic. The waiter was incredibly kind, friendly and patient. The music was top-notch and the food arrived rather quickly. It was such a spontaneous find, but if we're back in Bristol, we'll definitely come back! If you desire a tasty Indian meal, choose this restaurant and you won't regret it.

I had the lunch special, which was very good. It came on a tray with shards of popadum and mango chutney, so more was included than advertised on the menu. It was Monday and yet there was a table of six plus another table of two, and me. Very good value: I had the lamb and the chana dal. The restaurant is large and I think at one time was a Spanish bodega. It's just off Bristol city centre and the music isn't too loud.

Great authentic Indian food by the harbour.

On a quiet Thursday evening (empty restaurant) I had a delicious meal alone!! I came for the Indian cuisine and it did not disappoint me. Definitely good choice for Indian food in Bristol centre. Slightly fewer stars for atmosphere because it all looked a bit tired, but that's actually not entirely fair because the atmosphere suited the evening I needed. And the waiter was great (fast of course, but that's also okay with one guest, lol). Thoroughly enjoyed the vegetarian starter, main course and dessert. Photo is appetizer.

Popped in one evening to celebrate doing well on an assignment. The food was absolutely lovely - the paneer tikka was probably the best one I've had in my life! Great range of veggie options too. The server was very friendly and polite and everything arrived really quickly. Will definitely be telling my friends about this place as it really deserves the love.
