Harbourside Cafe in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

This was my first visit and definitely won’t be the last. Such lovely, friendly service and our full Cornish breakfast was probably one of the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked and quality produce. Great toast. Very reasonably priced too.

Nice little place but had to wait around about an hour before we got our food they were bit busy but was only breakfast and ham egg chips ordered

Honestly was shocked at how delicious our food was, clearly a lot of love and attention was put into our meals and into our service. The menu was very homely, delicious brekkie, sandwiches, and soup.

Lovely meal, thank you for making our trip to Cornwall delicious like your meals.☺️ My first impression was seeing one of the staffs giving a customer a freshly cooked sausages on a clean plate …to a dog😍

We've been coming here for 10 years now and this place just gets better with every visit. We had the amazing Cornish full breakfast . Packed with local produce this was wonderful. Staff are lovely too! Highly recommended. 5*

Lovely Full Cornish Breakfast, been told about this cafe, but never had a chance to visit, as we used to run a cafe 8 miles up the road and always busy, now retired. This breakfast was great nicely presented and not greasy, proper bacon and sausage, lovely thick toast, great value for the price, not trying to rip people off a credit to the last of the proper cafes, great music as well, will definitely be visiting again

While everyone else was still in bed with extra hr sleep, this place with great views of harbour was serving latte that is better than Costa & top quality food. Great atmosphere. Chocca with customers having fry ups & wish this was my Local Cafe… no 1 in Penzance. Dont go anywhere else…

Had one of the best cream teas here overlooking the harbour ! Came back for breakfast which was the best breakfast bap I’d ever had !!!!!

This is a lovely cafe with an amazing view of the harbour. Excellent service and food. In particular our dog was fed free of charge with sausages!! This made his day and we will return.

Really charming spot on the harbor. The staff is sweet and friendly. The ingredients are fresh and simple. Poached eggs on toast might be simple, but so good.

Lovely little cafe right next to the Marina. The food was fresh, tasty and very well priced. Food ranged from simple sandwich and crisps to Eggs Benedict with Salmon. Great staff and loved by locals.

We had a great wonderful cooked breakfast here before heading to the Isles of Scilly. It was very busy but Tracy was cheerful and efficient and the food was amazing. Whatever you do, make sure you have the mushrooms - to die for!!

Used to love coming here,great spot next to the boats,the new youngish coffee making guy is clearly out of his depth though,looked very flustered when telling me its a 45min wait for a sandwich,what a shame,this place used to be a really great cafe

This is one of Penzances best places for breakfast - nothing in the town even comes close. Great food that you just might have to wait for as it's only a small kitchen, but it's worth the wait!

I very clearly asked for no beans, was given them anyway, when I asked her to take them back she rolled her eyes and said “ you could’ve asked for no beans”. I told her that I had, she said nothing and walked away w my plate, when paying at the end of my meal the same server said to me “ next time ask if you don’t want beans”. This server was rude and inconsiderate and had an attitude that I didn’t appreciate, kinda ruined it for me as I have breakfast here often. The food is good and fairly priced, the service is terrible

Went here awhile ago and had brunch/breakfast .food was amazing best breakfast I’ve had, took us ages to finish, lady serving us was super lovely and a nice view inside. Definitely coming back some day.

Food was okay , no kids options though. Nearly had toast chucked at me , had drinks brought out 30 minutes before the breakfast was ready . Breakfast was fine , ordered a bacon butties pointed out that it was missing the order of double bacon response was “ oh yeah you did” but it would take us another 15 mins to do some.” We declined because already waited 35/40 mins since order ! Didn’t offer a refund or even a drink as an apology !! Bad customer service would not return !! Even on the way out staff muttering under their breath as we left. Would never return ! Better cafe with the best service in Newquay !!

Very good location to start your day wirh a good breakfast.

This waterside cafe is a nice retreat from the busy town centre. You can relax inside or at the outside terrace right next to the water with views across the harbour. The hard working staff produced me a very filling and delicious posh breckie! Lots of other favourites on the menu and great tea and coffee.

Just got off a 12 day cruise. The breakfast, in this modest little gem was the best meal I have eaten on my trip in both presentation and taste. This woman is an artist who could cook in any 5 star restaurant. If in Penzance, this is a destination breakfast stop. And, it was reasonable. Fresh squeezed orange juice, eggs poached perfectly with ample thick beacon. Ok, I’m done. You should go!

Best breakfast I have had in Cornwall. I had the veggie and husband had the full Cornish breakfast. They even brought a couple of sausages for our dog. Excellent service from all staff, well worth a visit.

Popped in twice during our stay in Cornwall, the day we arrived to set us up and the day we left to send us on our way with a full belly. Service was friendly and efficient and the big breakfast was a double whammy of being plenty big enough and had good quality ingredients. The Black AND White Pudding is great and not something you get elsewhere. Too many people think all a Full English needs is a certain amount of standard items but the quality of the items is vital and this was very enjoyable.

Excellent little café, great food, large portions and lovely staff. Only thing I would comment on is that the prices were extraordinarily reasonable and they could probably get a bit more reward for their efforts by raising their prices a little.

Really good quality food and drink

Stopped here with friends for a light lunch and drink. Toasted sandwich was delicious and well presented. Washed down with a glass of prosecco whilst overlooking harbour on beautiful sunny day. Friendly staff - would definitely recommend.

I stopped in for a quick breakfast, and it service really was quick and hot. I got bacon and eggs on toast. The portion size was plentiful and everything was seasoned and cooked just right. So impressed! There is free wifi, but I didn't get a chance to use it because the service was so fast. They offer a lovely selection of pastry, but I was so full from the bacon and eggs that I didn't have room for more. Next time!

Came in for lunch and had their ultimate breakfast, food was beyond beautiful, was lovely to have a beer with lunch too. Prices are amazing for the quality of food and service. Well decorated, good music on in the background. And we could bring the dog in. Will be coming back regularly.

I'm reluctant to give this proper little cafe 5stars as I would like to keep it a secret, however this cafe is pretty awesome, excellent food and service and all at reasonable prices. One of Cornwall's gems for sure

YESTERDAY I ORDERED AT 5am.. which was early for me as I suffer from chronic pain and health problems. I ordered online on Uber eats as it is easier for me. I can’t get out the house. I have never been so disappointed in all my life.. it said you can order earlier and order before they open. So I did.. my partner was waiting and he’s deaf. I can’t move fast either. They didn’t even knock on the door. They didn’t even come to my house and they wouldn’t even give me a refund!!!!!! Disgusting!! They just wanted my money. I was crying on the phone because I only just got back from hospital from a very serious health problem. I don’t need the stress!! They didn’t offer me anything and was so rude on the phone and completely ignored me and hang up!! I honestly am fuming!! That was my first and LAST ORDER WITH THOSE STUPID PEOPLE! VILE!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the best breakfasts I have ever had

After two visits to the Harbourside in Penzance I thought it was time for a review. Situated right next to Penzance harbour with views overlooking the harbour and to St Michael's mount in the distance. Small cafe with indoor and for the summer period outside seating. Nice menu including full cooked breakfast, sausage eggs and chips, ham egg and chips, scampi and chips , toasties, sandwich and various breakfast bap options. Food is amazing value for money and looks and tastes great. The portions are very generous and they use top quality sausages and meats. The chips are amazing, with almost Mediterranean tasting seasoning. Service is very good. Nice friendly team running the cafe. Only downside is the closing times seem short at 2.30 pm , but guessing it's due to being out of season. Would definitely return and highly recommend 😊👍

This was my second visit to this charming harbourside cafe. We sat in today and the place was cosy, clean and relaxing. I had the creamy mushrooms on granary toast...fantastic, fresh, well seasoned and filling. My son had the chips again seasoned and tasted much better than normal cafe chips.....a secret ingredient no doubt! Good value, tasty, well worth a visit. Staff pleasant and efficient.

A down to earth, bustling little cafe with lovely friendly staff, a really good chef, delicious food and an inclusive atmosphere. The clientele range from locals coming for a coffee, swimmers warming up after a cold swim with a slap up breakfast, harbour and dry dock workers popping in for lunch or a coffee, and travellers on their way to the Scilly Isles( the ferry is just fine minutes walk away.) Good views of the harbour and outside seating too. Highly recommended!

WOW! what a find. We had planned to stop somewhere else for a quick bite to eat but found ourselves outside of the Harbourside Cafe, It was full of patrons and luckily there was a spare table. We ordered Ham, Egg and Chips with a Latte and Tea. My husband was amazed that his tea was in a family sized pot and he drank it all, I thoroughly enjoyed my latte and when our lunches arrived we laughed because the owners were singing and dancing as they brough our order, I too had been singing along with the background music. The food was delicious and I would heartily recommend that people visit this cafe. Well Done your cafe is amazing.

What an unexpected and perfect find. With a little time before the Scilly Isles ferry we grabbed a coffee and breakfast bap. Service was perfect, friendly and authentic. Food was unexpectedly good.

I much enjoyed my stay at Harbourside Café with a superb cappuccino, very nice staff and a loveley see-view.

I’ve been there twice on successive days, as it’s not far from where I am staying, so wanted somewhere I could nip too for breakfast. I’ve had both the scrambled egg on toast, and then today a bacon sandwich.. both were well worth it. Staff were friendly and helpful, cannot complain at all. Service was quick and efficient.. no complaints from me.. Have my eye on the chocolate cake, next time.

We dropped in to the harbourside café whilst in Penzance, showing my son around. We ordered two large breakfasts, a side portion of fries and a bacon bree and cranberry toastie. The photos attached will show you just how amazing the food was! He arrived quickly, was cooked, superbly using Very good ingredients and even the toast was not generic slice of toast from supermarket life but proper bread sliced into rustic slices. The filling inside the toasted sandwich was incredible, one of the most well food sandwiches. We have eaten for a very long time! This café is a true gem, and we will certainly be telling all of our friends about it and taking. I have friends in there when they come down to see us in Cornwall. Extremely friendly staff, pleasant surroundings and nothing was too much. Trouble absolutely superb service.

Really friendly staff. Beautiful views over looking the sea. We went in the Mermaid sea trip and straight into the cafe for Cream tea. All home made. The kids had homemade cakes. Even the dogs had some treats and water.

Amazing views. Great staff and fantastic food. Local cider is a must have too, tasty Polgoon. The portions were large, the food was hot and tasty and the service was top notch. We were passing through Penzance and we’re very glad we stopped here. Located right on the harbour with a really pretty view, what’s not to love!

Good location and staff seemed nice enough. Ordered a couple of toasties that were ok according to the kids. Wife and I had cream teas and they seemed to have solved the age old argument of jam (yes) or cream (never) first by serving our scones without jam. We did, however, get a single, small, sliced strawberry to share between the two of us should we wish to make our own 🤔. That said we were never offered any sugar for the drinks and as there was none on the tables, making jam would have been a struggle. 😁 Unsure if this is a regional thing as it's the first cream tea we've had. If so I expect I'll just have to get used to the feeling of abject disappointment every time I order this. 😞🤣 Overall it's a great location and it was ok but when there are so many places to choose from, ok doesn't quite go far enough to warrant return custom.

Went for breakfast this morning, a party of six. Placed an order for coffee and tea and all had breakfast came to £75. The food was lovely. But the service and the attitude from the staff was awful. The coffee and tea turned up with two coffees less than we ordered. The man behind the counter then moaning that we hadn't ordered that amount and had sent one back. Two more coffees came five minutes after. Breakfast came out, one breakfast was left off the order. Had to wait another half hour before that turned up. The food was great and the service needs, improving.
