Excellent freshly cooked fish and chips that crispy and soft. Good portions and always feels like good value for money here.

We had 2 medium cod & chips and it was delicious! Fabulously hot and really tasty. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Will definitely be back.

Ordered food from here. Not only did I not receive a large battered sausage that I ordered I also ordered a large portion of chips that I wouldnt even feed to my dog. Portion size was terrible and the chips tasted like they had been sat for 3 weeks in a warmer. Upon complaining to the man that worked here he pretty much shrugged his shoulders and that was all. I would not recommend to anyone and will certainly not be going here again.

We called 15 minutes to closing time and the lady who we spoke to was kind enough to take our order. We got there 5 minutes before closing and our food was ready. Needless to say we were very happy.

The shop was not the open when it was meant to be. I went at 1930 and the chippy said it shuts at 2000. Evidently that is untrue.

Ordered the cod and chips offer for two plus curry sauce. The chips were good. Batter on the fish a bit soggy and greasy. The curry sauce was good,the problem being that it has gone up in price, and you get half the amount less than before. Equivalent to 2 dessert spoonfuls.How does that work out.Won't be having curry sauce if/when we return.

The lady seemed to think that “frying at high temperatures stops contamination of gluten batter with non gluten batter.”- not suitable for those with coeliac condition. Would have been appreciated if she owned up and told the truth about cross contamination.

Grumpy lady serving, chips were barely cooked and soggy, Haddock was the smallest I've seen in a long time. Almost as bad as Brits on the Wilton Rd

Got a delivery dew to a busy day. The chips were nice just needed a touch longer in the fryer but that is my own taste. The fish was amazing and with crispy batter. My son enjoyed his chicken nuggets and the jumbo sausage was crispy. One of the best fish and chips I have eaten away from the sea side. Would definitely use again

Order cost me £14 via deliveroo. Harbour forgot my fish. Nothing they can do. Told me to re- order. With what? Deliveroo have my money. Now facing battle with them for refund and no food!!! Thanks.

Been hunting for a decent fish & chip meal in Salisbury for some time and finally believe I’ve found it. Was recommended by a friend and was not disappointed. Freshly cooked to order, hot and tasty. No complaints. Give it a try, take no notice of the stupid reviews other people have left.

Your customer service skills are shocking, it's a wonder you get any customers at all. To refuse a 6 year old girl (my granddaughter) to sit down at your empty restaurant to eat her chips is the height of rudeness and lack of common sense. I suggest you rapidly change your attitude to accommodate your customers. Shame on you!!!

When a mother and her little girl would like to sit down and share a plate of chips most prob in the rain let them as your resturant was empty most likely due to you being rude.. not the way to run a business !!!

Don’t do it. Ordered using Deliveroo. Food was disgusting, chips were gritty?! I could not eat them. Had a battered sausage of which the batter was soggy. It’s recently been brought to my attention from people I know the staffing team are very rude, disrespectful and cannot spell “review”. Although I am yet to experience this in person. Save your money or go else where.

Your attitude and replies to customers are absolutely astounding! You clearly lack customer service skills! Did it occur to you the child could be a vegetarian and not want any fish or sausage to make the chips into a meal? The child could have autism or other learning difficulties that cause sensory issues with her food? ALL restaurants and services in 2022 should be well aware of the Equality Act 2010 amongst other basic Acts and Rights which are in place to allow ALL kinds of people to be accommodated and inclusive! I would suggest you brush up on your customer service skills and look up the basic Acts and follow them accordingly!

Why is this place still even open?

Took my six year old daughter in to get some chips as she was hungry, so thought we could go in and sit down. The restaurant was completely empty, so my daughter went and sat down and I ordered her food. Unfortunately I was met with a rude man who told me that we would have to buy the chips and leave because the tables are for people buying meals. I explained they were for my daughter and she wanted to eat inside and he said no. I would have understood if the restaurant was full, but it was completely empty and we were still paying for food. Terrible customer service and won’t be going there again. Update to reply: I think your reviews speak for themselves 😂 what a disgrace.

Disgruntled service and poor quality food. Clearly ran by a couple that know how to do it properly but choose not to for sake of profit margins and loss of passion. Medium Cod was Small with soft and over oily batter. Chip portion size was also small with the chip size resembling closer to fries than chips (for more surface area to sell). Also slippery and soggy with oil. I'm not wanting to ruin their business with this review but highlight that a reasonable product should be supplied for a reasonable price. With current quality I will not return nor reccomend.

Unfortunately, we are disappointed. We would not mind that not all items on the menu were available or that our order was not ready at the agreed time. We can however not get away from the fact that the cod, chips, and sausage were very oily. The batter was soft, and the chips were soggy. The sausage was mushy. The grease left in the trays was unbelievable. Paid 20+ GBP, very much not worth it.

Mark and Christine know how to cook fish and chips. They are easily the best in the area all the way down to Southampton (in my estimation). All the food is cooked to order, which I completely approve of. Fish can dry so quickly when kept in the hot cabinet so I only want freshly cooked fish. No one can guarantee the best chips as the potatoes differ so much but, they are generally very good and, again, better than the local opposition. Keep it up please, I will keep coming back.

Disappointing, no pickles on the menu (Deliveroo) under cooked chips and soggy, thick, bubble free batter- had to finish them off in my airfryer. Nice bit of cod though.

I made a order with these quickly realised it was not my local chippy if ordered and paid so called to cancel Order as Iivd 184 miles away They were very rude threatening and refused to cancel Order taking the £25 it was not a special order it was fish and chips 3x that would of been sat in there ovens ! Avoid ! Rude no customer care and with that in mind I assume they need the money that much ! That the food must be vile ! Update to there response !!! Read other reviews pretty poor all round !!!

This place should be for young children only the amount you get. I have NEVER seen such a small battered sausage. It was as big as 2 cocktail sausages with thin batter. The chips were half a portion and the cod was half the size of normal cod portion. I will NOT be returning.

Paid £12 for meals that were half the size of every other chip shop. Very stingy I never seen a portion so small. The staff looked dirty with scruffy hair.

A little oasis! Friendly service and oh so delicious chips! We were camping locally and this was a super treat instead of cooking. Highly recommend.

Great chip shop. I had battered sausage and chips, my partner had cod and chips, both were perfectly cooked and still hot after a ten-minute walk which is always a good sign. Everything was cooked to order (quickly), decent portions for the price and the staff were perfectly friendly. Don't be put off by the negative reviews, most of which I don't think have anything to do with the quality of the food or the service a normal person without an axe to grind would receive.

Quite pricey. Chips were hard and VERY greasy and not a lot of them. Sausages were VERY GREASY and obviously cheap, yet cost £1.80 without much flavour. Curry sauce was watery. Pie and beans were nice though.

I have never been so embarrassed in all of my life. I am genuinely exempt from wearing a mask, yet they wouldn't let me in. Apparently 'people like me' should be ashamed of mtzelf. After calmly and politely offering to show the government website, which shows that you can be exempt, the owner told all of his staff to just ignore me. I was very aware of the CCTV pointing at me and didn't want to lower myself to their standards, so I remained polite. However, they called the police to report me as being a nuisance. There will have been a time when the first black person was refused entry to a shop or the first Jewish person in 1930s Germany, so it is important that behaviour like this is stopped to avoid a segregated community.

I have read some excellent reviews but I'm afraid that wasn't my experience. The fish was ok but the chips were the greasiest and soggiest I have tried to eat for a long time. I got the impression the shop reduced the oil temperature to save on fuel. I ate the fish but threw the chips away.

Should be named THE HALF COOKED FISH AND CHIPS! Just wasted £31.95 as that has to be the worst Fish and Chips that all 4 of us have had anywhere in Salisbury! Purchased: 2 x Large Cod (SMALL Fish Large BATTER) 2 x Medium Cod (AS ABOVE) 1 x Large chips soggy, soggy, soggy! 1 x Regular (AS ABOVE) 2 x Mushy Peas (Luke warm) 1 x Curry Sauce (Luke warm) Stingy small size fish and very soggy batter and soggy tasteless chips! Worse yet, I drove from the outskirts of Salisbury based on the reviews! NEVER AGAIN, OVER PRICED and HIGHLY OVERRATED!

Great food. Best in Salisbury. Been visiting for a long time and never had a problem. Until now. I'm finding that the staff think that they are doing us a favour by serving us the most simple food there is. I understand that covid has changed things but its not rocket science.The most arrogant and self important people I have ever had to deal with, and in a chippy of all places. Such a shame as honestly best chips there are but the horrible discusting sevice by a clique of ladies that think they are saving the planet by putting fried potatoes in a paper bag for us.

If you have an intolerance to gluten, this chippy could be a god send... But this shop tends to close early, so beware. You will be going hungry. P

Sausage batter was soggy and almost raw ! The chips were so greasy and soggy absolutely disgusting ! I have had fish and chips here a few times and have been lovely but I wouldn’t go back again very disappointed and hungry !

Good quality chips: not oily, no eyes, very fresh potatoes

Used to go here quite a bit, but on the last few visits the batter on the fish is extremely oily, thin and not particularly appetising. Chips were nice though. Not a particularly warm welcome either, a smile wouldn't go a miss. We've eaten in before though and the service was good despite the oily fish.

Ordered at 4.30 for collection at 6.30pm. Super easy system. Haven't had fish & chips in months and it was well worth the wait!! Thank you for a delicious meal, every last mouthful thoroughly enjoyed.

As far as I know this is the only fish and chip shop in Salisbury that serves gluten free fish and chips. Available only on WednesdaysGood quality and staff very well versed in the needs of coeliacs and how to avoid gluten and cross contamination

Dropped in for some fish to take away before a long drive home. My piece of cod was cooked to order and was lovely. The seating area looked good. Everything was spotlessly clean. The server was very friendly.

Have been a few times and they have always been really nice , a nice treat from work , but tonight I got some and they were absolutely swimming in grease the chips were greased off and I could even eat them so disappointed cos they were lovely other week , a shame won’t be going for a while put me off

Me and my wife ordered here previously, the chips were massively oversalted, (Yes I asked for salt and vinegar, but I didn't say I wanted the chips as an accompaniment. The chips were really soggy which means they were cooked massively in advance, you need to teach your staff portion control, I understand pre blanching them which is fine, which will improve the chips taste giving them a fluffier yet crisp outside.. but then all you need to do is re-fry them as you said below for 75 seconds.. (Which is better than serving your customers inadequate food.) We were also waiting for the meal for about 20 minutes while the place was rather empty, unacceptable service, unacceptable quality, I don't understand how you have received 4.3* overall. If we were not already at home (10 minute walk before you blame this) we would have complained about this while there.

Así que opté por pescado y papas fritas y una salsa de curry 7. 90 - ¡No está bien! La señora que estaba sirviendo no me saludó, sin embargo, tosía constantemente sobre toda la comida y luego se sonaba la nariz frente a las papas fritas. Tuve que apartar la mirada porque me sentía mal. Cuando me entregó el pescado y las papas fritas, no me preguntó si quería algo de sal o vinagre, simplemente me tiró la bolsa "esto no fue un problema ya que estaba en el contenedor".El lugar estaba absolutamente vacío. . ¡por una razón!¡EVITA LA PLAGA! ! !

After reading good reviews, popped in for fish and chips. Very, very disappointed. Chips has been cooked WAY in advance. Both fish and chips cooked in re-used oil. Will not go back that's for sure

Me enojo tanto cuando mi dinero se desperdicia por completo. . esta noche otro ejemplo principal. Una delicia de pescado y patatas fritas familiares, fue increíblemente decepcionante. El pez era pequeño, de aspecto cansado y probablemente lo que quedó ayer. Las salchichas eran muy aceitosas y las patatas fritas estaban secos y sin sabor. No volveremos.
