This is a lovely little tea rooms and garden coupled together with an antique shop. You can either sit inside amongst all the antiques that are for sale or sit outside in a very pleasant cottage type garden. It is a little like stepping back in time with hot drinks served in bone china cups and saucers. Reasonably priced and well worth a look if in the area.

Lovely tea shop next to the optician in BoC High Street. We had a very nice savoury cream tea with lovely cheese to spread and relish. Also a very nice warm scone and toasted crumpet. Service was very friendly as we sat out in the garden area. We also liked all the bric a brac to look at on the way in and out. A definite find in pretty Burnham on Crouch.

Lovely little tea room shame the bric a brac was in there as i think it would be much better without so much surrounding you, never the less it is a fab little find not cheap but worth it, lady was really lovely and friendly and the china cups and tea pot definatly made it. If your in burnham its a must.lovely place.

We have been walking pass these Tea Rooms for years. It was a mixture of a cold wind and pubs finishing serving at 2.15 pm meant I could finally persuade my wife to try it out. Although it has a popular garden area the only option was indoors on this windy early spring afternoon. It was like walking back in time. Now I have to admit that antiques aren’t my thing so sitting among them whilst eating a late lunch would not be my choice. But I would recommend eating here because: 1. Quaint - China bells to call for the waitress Fulsome Yorkshire Tea in china cups 2. Delightfully presented and tasting cheese and pickle whole meal sandwiches Warm fresh scones with generous jam and clotted cream 3. Delightful character owner Definitely a different and worthwhile experience.

Visited the tea rooms on a bank holiday with family. The staff were rushed of their feet even though the gardens were half empty. Waited about 15 minutes before our order was taken and we were promptly told that we could not only order drinks as it was a bank holiday. Nothing on the menu said this and we were made to feel very uncomfortable. The lady said she would do it on this occasion as we were already sat down. Perhaps an idea to let customers know before they've waited for 15 minutes? Staff seemed very stressed and there was lots of arguing between staff. Not the most welcoming of environments. Drinks were average and I wouldn't return. Would not recommend if you're looking for a friendly tea room!

We happened upon this tearoom when walking along the quay. It looked like a nice spot for a cup of tea and with the name "Georgian Tearooms" we thought this would be ideal. We were sat right next to the window where the kitchen was and spent most of our visit having to put up with the staff arguing and bickering between themselves. Eventually we were served and having ordered our drinks, the lady taking our orders scoffed at us for not having food. There were no signs indicating that all customers must eat and there was only a small selection of cakes and sandwiches on the menu regardless! She made out this was unreasonable and that we'd taken up valuable table space when the place was barely half full anyway! She then said she would do it "On this occasion". Frankly if we weren't so parched we'd have left there and then! One of our party ordered "7UP" from the menu, we saw the Asda's own brand lemonade being poured into the glass through the open kitchen window, which is extremely misleading. Likewise the Cloudy Lemonade was cheap supermarket own brand. We were made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, the staff's arguments overshadowed our visit and it seemed that they do not know how customer service should work! There is no toilet available even for customers which I thought was very strange for somewhere which does food and drink! Only positive was the good location and nice tea.

Lovely surroundings, the garden really is nice. Food was ok, The "cream cheese with assorted cheese" I'm sorry to call you out here but... it's very obviously sandwich filling from a little plastic tub you get from Asda/Tesco etc. Come on we have all had it before, I'm sure you can do better then that. Coffee was ok however, service I will call natural, I found it a little intrusive and creepy at some points but that might just be me.

Lovely setting, particularly on a warm sunny day, and the staff were attentive and very polite. However (and I appreciate the experience may be different depending on what you order), but we opted for a couple of slices of cake - for £3 a pop, we were expecting delicious and generous portions, but the cakes were disappointingly small for the price and weren't anything beyond very average. Will go back again to give them the benefit of the doubt by trying a cream tea instead, but not very impressed with the cakes on this occasion.Still, far better service than a couple of other cafes in Burnham I won't mention!

Following a recommendation from friends located the Tea Rooms between the sea wall and the High Street. From the Sea Wall its down a few steps into the Garden, and where subject to weather, nice seating area is available. If not into the rear of the building and through to the seats in the Antique Shop front facing onto the High Street. Full choice of teas and the beauty is that it is served in bone china cups. Nice selection of sandwiches and cakes. The Hostess is very friendly and available through ringing the separate glass bells on each table. A location that we would also be happy to recommend and return to next time we are in Burnham. Plan your visit to include a walk around this interesting town. The local cinema dates back to the 1920's and it retains some interesting features.

My mother visited the tearoom yesterday with three friends. They all ordered sandwiches and three of them had tea. My mother is unable to drink tea or coffee so asked if she could have a pot of hot water. When the bill came she had been charged £2.40 for a pot of hot water. I think this was absolutely terrible, it was actually more than a cup of tea!!!! The Manager refused to do anything about it saying that she still needs to get the washing up done, she must have the worlds most expensive washer uper or dishwasher. Needless to say they will not be going back

We stopped here for a cuppa and snack. The garden is beautiful and you ring a bell for service. My wife had the cloudy lemonade, which tasted as it should; I had the excellent filter coffee and Mother-in- Law had the Yorkshire tea. There was enough for four cups in our 'small' bone china pots! The cutlery was all silver as well. We also had teacakes and crumpets. It was definitely a trip back in time. We half expected Lord and Lady Grantham to walk in. They serve other delights as well - cream teas and sandwiches - which I am sure are excellent. Well worth a visit.

Please note that review isn't based on the food. It is just a point of view that I would like to make for the attention of Dog owners. Our beloved Ruby a beautiful black Miniature Schnauzer had been very ill and we knew that her time with us was limited and so wanted to make the most of the precious moments we had left together as a family. When we arrived at the Georgian Tea Gardens after walking some distance from the car park, we looked inside from the garden gate at the back and were drawn to the beautiful arched bench and table elevated from the footpath. Although small, the garden was lovely so we decided to venture in. As it turned-out, we were the only ones in  there. It was around two o'clock on Sunday afternoon and so myself, my partner and our two small dogs went over to sit on the bench (they would be on my coat on the floor below). We were all parched and hoped we would go on to enjoy a lovely cup of tea and maybe a bite to eat.Just as we were about to sit down, the proprietor came out and stated "ah yes, we like our dog owners and there dogs to sit up here if that's okay". It wasn't.We were guided up to the back door of the property where there was a small table, crammed along side of the footpath and in the way of people who would inevitably pass by. Not only that, a short time after we sat at our new destination, an older couple came and sat where we wanted to sit when we came in. They were also served before us.The were no signs informing us that we couldn't sit on the bench and the area we were asked to sit was not at all as nice. We are not smokers and our dogs are quiet and well behaved. We were all tired and just in need of a little rest and refreshment. We didn't stay and ended up leaving Burnham. I drove us all to Maldon, and enjoyed what turned out to be a lovely afternoon but sadly one of the last days out we had together.Ruby passed away last Wednesday of an aggressive and incurable cancer.

A spur of the moment visit to Burnham resulted in a spur of the moment decision to stop here for tea. What a great decision! We sat in the small walled garden, being warmed by the early May sunshine and, having made or culinary choices, used the glass bell on the table to summon the waiter. The menu is short and sweet. Nothing cooked, just proper tearoom fair. Sandwiches / cakes / cream teas etc, all offered with tea (including Earl Grey), coffee and cold drinksDecision made, it was tea for 2, with a toasted teacake for my wife and 2 buttered crumpets with jam for me.After a brief wait, our order arrived, on a silver tray. Tea in a china teapot, with matching china cups and saucers. Sugar lumps with tongs, a lovely touch! Large, buttered teacake and 2 buttered crumpets on matching china platesThe tea was lovely, made better by the 'proper' cups and saucersMy wife seriously enjoyed her teacake, which had been liberally spread with butterMy crumpets really hit the spot, warm, covered in melting butter and supplied with a generous portion of strawberry jam. All the above, delivered with a smile and some cheerful banterIf you are ever in Burnham on Crouch, make a point of visiting this tea room, you will not be disappointed

As per the other reviews, we can agree the antique tea room and garden setting were inviting and service was good, however, we had the cream tea which consisted of one small, plain, scone which was tasteless! thick cream and jam which were ok. The coffee which was presented in a lovely, bone china coffee pot was very weak, and for £5.50 did not represent good value for money. Also, whilst you are sitting there having your food, people are getting up close and personal looking at the price tags on the items for sale which are scattered all around the tea rooms giving quite a cluttered view. Much nicer cream teas are served 100 yards walk along the river front at The Quay, tastier, huge, fruit scones and better quality coffee and at only £4.50! Needless to say, we won't be returning.

Wife had the granola and I had an Oakhouse breakfast. Both were fine, but my poached egg was very overdone. We'll still be back though. It was quite noisy in there too, as there was a table of 8 behind us of a couple of families and their very noisy young kids, complete with a tablet playing a loud kids TV show. Which was nice.
