Best place for drinks and skewers. Location is great, in Chinese Quarter, Birmingham city center. Food is flavourful and served hot. Service is speedy and polite. My go-to place for a good time!

The barbecue is not grill totally! It’s fried. There would be extra service fee at last, which they would not mention it and ask you to pay directly!

Came here for my sisters birthday. I’d been many times before as the food is amazing but this time took the prize as the staff couldn’t do enough, the atmosphere was amazing and as always, food incredible. One of my favourite places to meet friends and eat in Birmingham !

I absolutely love this place! The guy serving us made sure to triple check our order because we somehow managed to get it wrong twice haha and he was so kind and helpful about it! Food is delicious and chilled atmosphere is a bonus, nothing quite like it anywhere else it’s a real gem.

One of my all time favourite places to visit when in Birmingham. They offer an extensive menu of skewers, big plates and more. Some of my favourite skewers include the honey grilled chicken wing, as well plates such as their naengmyeon (cold noodles). I particular enjoy to visit on the weekends when they also have live music available with performers singing in English and Chinese.

The flavors here are absolutely amazing, making it a must-visit spot. The skewers are seasoned to perfection, with a blend of spices that’s incredibly addictive. I found myself reaching for skewer after skewer. The fried rice is also a standout—so well-seasoned that I couldn’t stop eating it. However, the real stars for me were the chicken feet and chicken bones. They were so delicious that I kept munching on the bones, unable to get enough. One of the best things about this place is the abundance of halal options. All the food I ordered was halal, and it was simply fantastic. The lady there, named Wing, was extremely helpful. She guided us on which items were halal and provided excellent food recommendations. Overall, I highly recommend Harbinger Skewer Bar. It’s definitely worth the visit for anyone looking to enjoy some top-notch Chinese BBQ skewers.

Before ordering BBQ, the owner told us that there would be discounts for cash or WeChat transfers, then we said we'd choose buffet, and the girl works there gave us a "buffet menu", which was a lot less than the normal menu. When it came time to pay the bill, since we don’t have any cash, so we asked how much would be if we transferred money from WeChat, but the girl suddenly told us that the buffet would not be eligible for any discounts. ???? That was completely different from what the owner had told us at the beginning, and she didn’t mention that in advance. But it’s really late that day, so we decided just pay by card if there is no discounts. The funny thing is the girl said they couldn't pay by card, and that they didn't even have a POS machine. Thats ridiculous, step by step like a trap, this shop should be here for a long time and there is no POS machine? Not recommended

Crispy sausage, grilled steamed bun slices and chicken wings are all delicious! It’s so wonderful for two people to have a glass of beer, some skewers, and a quiet chat!

Very very delicious! Barbecue is suitable for all tastes from the north to the south! The only mutton in the UK that is not shameful. It is so delicious that I would shoot my friend next to him without even looking at it. The music in the store is also very good, and the atmosphere is particularly good when someone sings. It feels like I have returned to Sanlitun when I was a child, eating, drinking and listening to music. During the season, you can also watch football in the store, eat skewers and drink fresh food. Watching a football match with Kirin Beer is more than just a fun experience!

This place is great. It's unlike anywhere I've been before but in a good way. They serve a decent variety of food and drinks too. I've been back a few times. There is love music on an evening too. The place feels cosy.

Absolute hidden gem this place. Food is amazing, staff are brilliant and such great vibe! Thank you so much! I should also add - have some fun with the menu - we literally had no idea what at times we were going to get, but had a great authentic experience.

Lovely place with delicious food and lovely service

Always a good laugh here - the performances are sketchy but hilarious and great entertainment as part of a night out passing through this part of town. Very tasty and authentic bbq and drinks although the tsingtao beer was warm we made use of the cups and ice with our Soju chaser. They don't always have all the soju on the menu but they're all fine.

A good restaurant to eat Chinese barbeque. I lived in China for a few years and the food tasted very authentic. I would recommend the lamb skewers, aubergine, sausage, and squid. There was also karaoke offered in their service too.

I’ve been here a few times now and I must say that I always enjoy the food and service here. This is the only place that I go to for this cuisine and I really enjoy the way the meat is freshly BBQ’d especially. It’s really affordable and I enjoy eating here by myself aswell. They do really nice live music on some days of the week which is actually really enjoyable and creates a nice vibe. 10/10 for me ☺️

One of my favourite places to eat. Easygoing staff, delicious rice, and amazing spicy barbecued spring onions. A nice and curious place to just sit, and enjoy a meal, too.

It's not grilled skewer at all. It is absolutely fried! and was waiting too long for the fried skewer. 根本不是炭火烤的，不是烤的，是油炸的。中国人就骗中国人。 等菜还要等到天荒地老。

烧烤味道很正，肉类烤的种类很丰富，烤丸子种类比较少，面类，海鲜类也有点少说实话。烤的稍微偏甜了一些，猪五花，羊肉，牛筋，都不错，很入味，餐厅也很有氛围，整个店里都充斥着烧烤味，在外面马路上隔老远就能闻到飘过来的烧烤味。店里喝的类别也不少，能吃的很爽，小菜类别也不算少，有毛豆，卤味。不能吃辣提前跟店员说，适合跟朋友们一起聚聚的地方，热闹，需要静环境的就算了。

口味很好，价格实惠，关键老板做事地道。我出差来伯明翰，点的外卖，不知道哪个环节疏忽少了一瓶可乐，老板自己开车大老远给送来了。就冲这诚信以后来伯明翰还得继续点餐

Authentic and absolutely delicious Barbecue!! My fav restaurant in Birmingham!🥰 Also the live music shows are on every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, it’s brilliant and I feel like I’m in a concert! The restaurant owner is very friendly and hospitable! Really recommended.

We were sceptical about coming in to start with as live music was on and not really knowing what to expect behind the curtain entrance. As soon as we walked in we were welcomed by the staff even though we naively thought being English would have made a difference (honestly feel stupid for feeling that way). Got sat down, enjoyed two great singers and spoke to some of the people inside who were lovely and welcomed us back anytime. Kirin ichiban on tap was lovely and smooth. Didn't try the food as had eaten elsewhere but everyone else was tucking in and we are definitely coming back to try it. Really nice vibe inside with cool aesthetic. Would recommend

Without a doubt the best Chinese barbecue in Birmingham. The dumplings are sublime. The staff and owner Jonathan are faultless. On a Friday and Saturday they have singers. Try the beer towers of Japanese Kirin lager. I love this place. If you are in Birmingham then this restaurant is a must.

This bar’s owner use hiring partime tactic to get free labor since he just call you come to for a trial 7 hours from 16:00-23:00. And only when you have done the work and then you are told that you will not get paid for the trial time . Why not tell in advance? This is totally cheating and use this way again and again save labor cost. It is so disgusting!!!!!!

牛逼级的好吃，味道极其正宗，可以说是我在英国吃过的最好的烤肉。要撸串绝对值得来。

楼上说的对，可能比较适合打麻将。烧烤不好吃，真的不好吃。虽然我可能点的不是很多，但是 没有一样好吃的，只能说极为的一般。其他的也就不敢过多尝试了。
